Love how games industry analysts eventually get to the perception of the average gamer about 4 years later š¤£. Potential investors would be better off taking a trip to Vegas than listening to these guys.
@TimeDelayedGamer yeah I wonāt be bothering going for S Ranks when doing my Dante Must Die run as it isnāt required for the platinum. I know it is for the later games though, so Iāll be attempting it on them at the very least. Just getting the platinum on this one will more than satiate me tbh š
Just a little ways into my Hard playthrough of Devil May Cry having finished my first run on Normal last night. Iām actually pretty surprised by how difficult I found some of the later bosses on Normal, so these subsequent difficulties are gonna be issues, no doubt about it.
As far as the game goes, I like it well enough⦠but not as much as I was expecting to. I get that it was the progenitor of the Character-Action genre and limited by the hardware available at the time⦠but Iām not enjoying the combat as much as I did with other games within the genre that came later. I have a feeling 3, 4 and 5 will address my issues when I get to them though. Happy wknd yāall!
Glad itās doing well, probably not as well as Ubi need⦠but what they needed was a miracle! Big fan of the series and have been working my through them two-per-year the last few years. Should get to Shadows by 2028-ish š (although Iāve already got it sitting on the shelf).
Mad how things go with PlayStation offerings. 99% of people thought the Portal, the Edge and the rental service were clearly terrible decisions⦠and then once the data is accrued, all three are demonstrable successes beyond even Sonyās expectations. Just goes to show that while we may be the hardcore, we know very little about the masses and their wants and needs.
Made a start on my invisible enemies playthrough of Resident Evil HD this morning. Itās the fifth and what should be my final run⦠and itās been quite the journey. Iām sure that it comes as no surprise to anyone that I think itās great and really looking forward to playing the subsequent entries over the next few years.
No rest for the wicked though as although this platinum has been a challenge for sure, the next one on the docket (which Iāll be starting Tuesday) is gonna be an absolute **** š¤¬ā¦ and may well prove to be beyond me.
Even though I only played a bit of Silent Hill 2 Remake on the missusā account (iām saving it for a proper time-investment on my own) it was enough to move Bloober from ānot botheredā to āIām inā on this.
I love Dead Space and this is looking like a closer experience to that than The Callisto Protocol was ever gonna be. Hope it reviews well and itās a buy from me.
Really hoping this game turns out great. The end-results of my major hopes for original ip from little-known devs has been great these last couple of years what with how Lies of P and Black Myth Wukong turned-out⦠and this is the third of the three Iāve been following intently since their initial reveals. š¤
@ZeroSum look, I hope that my doubts and concerns are proved wrong, both Bungie and Sony really need a win here (Bungie just in general and Sony on a Live Service platform)⦠but Iām sure they both need it to be considerably more successful than a niche game mode on COD that no longer gets support due to hacking.
It sounds like Bungie has bet the farm on this one and would need it to at least be as successful as the Destiny series (a decade-long cash cow).
@Sanquine aye but with Helldivers 2 itās purely pve⦠this looks to have a hefty part of its format as pvp. I think that might well dilute the number of players willing to dedicate the amount of hours thisāll need to succeed. Iām not saying it will fail⦠Iām saying I have my doubts.
Iām sure itāll be very good for what its attempting to be but⦠Iām not sure that there are the number of gamers out there that actually want this (extraction shooter), that would be required for the game to thrive.
Started Resident Evil HD on Wednesday and am š¤ close to the end of my first playthrough with Jill on Normal, so should finish that off today.
After some initial teething-problems with the controls and the save-system, itās grown on me quite a bit and can fully appreciate its classic status within the gaming pantheon. Only 3 or 4 playthroughs left after that for the plat š .
A platinum for each please⦠none of this one plat for the whole collection as weāre only able to use one launcher rubbish. Konami managed it with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, so I hope that Iām not giving Microsoft too much credit in assuming itās something theyāre capable of too.
@Nightcrawler71 yeah I agree thatās a rough spot for Unity, i was fortunate enough to have waited to play it, so it was in a real good state by that time⦠and as a result, is one of my favourites.
Oh man⦠not gonna lie, I got extremely excited when I saw that Adam Jensen thumbnail and the words New Deus Ex! Letās hope that they perfect their pitch š
I really enjoyed Paradise Killer even though it was nothing like my usual far. So much so that, Iām pretty much down for whatever Kaizen do from here⦠for the bizarreness at the very least.
Iāve fancied some handheld gaming ever since getting back into gaming in a big way and ended up getting a switch back in 2019 but hardly used it. It turned out the handheld device I wanted was a method to access my PlayStation account while not in my gaming room⦠and while I always wanted that method to be native, now that Iāve tried the portal Iām satisfied with streaming.
As Iāve never really been a massive fan of Nintendo ip, the portal has covered any and all bases that I personally want from handheld/portability, so I wonāt be getting a switch 2. The missus got the most use out of my switch anyway, so maybe sheāll want one but she hasnāt piped up yet š .
I know that From Soft has always had some level of mp (well⦠dating back to Demonās Souls anyway) but them of all the developers out there, chasing the multiplayer/GaaS/Live Service dollar pains me the most š¢
@FuriousMachine yeah I know itās a forlorn hope but I can but dream I guess. At least they (Capcom) did it for Resident Evil: Village albeit behind a dlc paywall.
@Oram77 Iām sure that it doesnāt⦠I just tend to enjoy the third person view point in games so much more. I like loads of games with the first-person view but I always have to actively push myself to actually play them.
I think people need to understand the game selling well is a completely different thing from the games sales being good enough to actually saving the titanic-like company that is Ubisoft.
It would have to outsell GTA VI to have actually saved Ubisoft (in the state that they were prior to the subsidiary deal with Tencent), which was never gonna happen. But that in no way means that the game hasnāt sold very well all things considered.
Finally bust out the portal yesterday as Iām away with the missus and itās pretty awesome tbh. Just so happened that Iām currently chasing down the platinum on Lords of the Fallen so the stress-test is real⦠and the little portable portal into my ps5 has passed with flying colours.
I watched a really good video-analysis of the trailer and itās honestly got me as excited about this as any other upcoming game. Obviously itāll have a boat-load of haters⦠but I have no doubt that Naughty Dog will deliver in spades!
@heavyartillery56 from you quick-to-anger responses about matters of little actual consequence to your real life, I take it the 56 in your username refers to you being between 5 and 6 in age rather than actually being 56 š
@heavyartillery56 the reason for @ShogunRokās head-in-hands Picard gif was due to the article specifically referring to sales rather than player numbers š
