@mephistosghost Not every game has them, but there's quite a few that do actually offer themes or avatars etc for platinums. God Of War, Spider-Man, Horizon all did it, not sure if others did too.
@Cornaboyzzz Think both made there way to the vita (as well as mgs going to xbox I think?) but it was a gimped version that didn't have peace walker if I remember correctly? But yeah I'd imagine that is right. Yeah awesome game. @danlk1ng Yeah I'd heard the wii version was cool with the motion controls, never owned or played it though. I think I'm right in saying that the ps2 version was originally rendered in 4k or something stupid and it was just downscaled, so the wii must have been even more watered down.
@Cornaboyzzz Literally one of my favourite games of all time, awesome little thing.
@danlk1ng It got a ps3 remaster (and I think again on 4?) and it was a delight. No different than the R&C collection making an appearance on this list surely. I always see Okami as a highly rated amd much loved game, just no one ever thinks of it in their top lists.
What about Astro Bot? I haven't played it (don't own/want ps5) but that's been pretty universally praised. I know it's not an actual purchaseable game but people have been loving that bad boy from what I've seen. If Astro Bot VR was anything to go by, I can completely see why.
Although Knight was a disappointment in many aspects, and I was burned out afterwards, I am very much ready for a new Batman game. I don't mean like Gotham Knights (which looks cool to be fair, and Bruce is definitely appearing as the Talon), but another Arkham style game is needed. Or maybe a Nightwing game in Bludhaven. Or maybe a Teen Titans game...
@Starkei Digimon Cyber Sleuth (And Hackers Memory) not only let you poop attack, but PLAY as poop. 2 kinds (Sukamon and PlatinumSukamon)! If that's your thing.
Every single person should buy Okami if they haven't already played it. it's a delight.
I couldn't even bring myself to meet Trevor in 5, I tried two or three times. The online portion I spent about 2 hours and never went back to it. I didn't really get the buzz. Vice City will always remain the pinnacle of the series.
@AdamNovice I said this in another thread, but no one seems to have picked up on the fact that Uncharted 4 remaster is coming day and date to pc. I know it's not technically a new game, but the remaster of it IS and hasn't been on playstation systems previously. I think they're testing the waters for day and date releases down the line, as there hasn't been a storm of controversy surrounding that announcement I can see it happening more regularly.
Ni No Kuni Remastered. Played it 15 hours or so on ps3 and then for some reason never went back to it, but enjoying it. Also as it was my first day off in over a month, I've managed to make a pretty sizeable dent into it and have already got much further than I did previously.
Still 100% in the camp that the talon is Bruce and you have to fight him. This game looks like it could be really cool, I really hope it plays well but I suspect that it would be fun for an hour and then just repetitive gameplay grind to earn more gear.
Shame the L2/R2 buttons were missing and only available as a 3rd party accessory option (and even then for only certain models) but other than that, the vita was a quality little machine.
Iron Man? Re7? They've already given out quite a few, not sure which are left. I have really enjoyed my vr (except for with re7 because that physically hurt to use on original phat boy ps4) and Astro Bot is an absolute joy if you haven't already played it.
Although it's not a new game (as such), the remaster of uc4 coming to ps5 and pc same date is something I'm surprised hasn't been spoken about before. People were getting bent out of shape about the fact that day and date releases might be a thing for potential other releases, but nothing has seemingly been said about this. Testing the waters for the response I guess 🤷♂️
@UnlimitedSevens Oh yeah, I never played that though but the above list I at least sampled. But Jesus the original PS had an absolutely incredible library.
Been wanting Ni No Kuni for a while, had it on ps3 and played it for about 10 hours and then never went back for whatever reason, so that's a maybe at it's current price.
Hellblade is also pretty cheap.
You all should play Never Alone because it's a lovely little thing.
Other than that, nah.
EDIT: Or not, I just keep getting into a confirm my identity on paypal loop :s My money is no good
FF7 is among my favourite games of all time (alongside Okami, Batman Arkham City, Uncharted 2 and Pokémon Heart Gold) and I loved the remake too (maybe even more than the original, but obviously it's only 1 part released so far so can't comment too much). I loved 8 as well, but didn't get one with 9 at all.
FF7 > FF7R > FF8 > FFX > FF6 > FF4 > FFCC > FF5 > FFX2 > FF 13 > FF13-2 > FFLR not sure if I played any others 🤔
They're only a team of 70 which was even less for most of their works? That's quite impressive, they do fantastic work. No word on how much they paid? Surely it was less than the ABSOLUTE BARGAIN they paid for Insomniac, literally the best studio in the world imo.
I stand by it that MKX is the best out of the recent MKs, but bit crap they didn't throw in the xl version. Finished with it years ago but at least the user base should pick up a bit for a while at least. Other than that, don't care about the others.
I said before I hope they do a SS game like Peace Walker, in that you can choose one of the 4 characters for each mission (sometimes teaming up for the harder ones) and there'd be different types (assassination, gather intel, steal a document or weapon etc) and then being able to approach the mission how you wanted. If it's an assassination mission you could choose Harley and just go crazy up close, or use Deadshot and plan your perfect sniper shot from a huge distance. I don't think this will be that. Also, it best be better than Arkham Knight because that was a huge disappointment.
Berzerker rage best be a late game thing. MK levels of gore and violence, bodily dismemberment (and indeed regeneration), fountains of arterial blood spraying all over the walls. God of War (the original, gory ones) with a Marvel skin.
After an onslaught of jaw dropping announcements, including Kojima Silent Hill, Bluepoint MG Remake, FF16, GOWR release date, Sony have bought Square Enix, Every ps1 and ps2 game from the platinum collection is getting a full remake, the stage goes dark, Jim Ryan walks on stage "I quit" mic drop. The internet explodes.
Honestly the fact that MiB is just SO FAR out of left field, might hold some credibility to me. Sony own the ip anyway. A "new ip" might be referring to the team working on an ip that they hadn't before (uncharted, syphon filter, days gone etc). With all these little announcements appearing though there might actually be something of note at this showcase and I might actually get some interest in the ps5 (for 2023 when the chips return and the slim model is released).
@LuisCruz13 I could get behind an rpg infamous, it would make the decision to be good or evil a lot less simplified. Maybe have super powerful conduits who have taken over with absolute power with others trying to stop them, could be like an injustice kind of deal.
@Flaming_Kaiser I think neon was probably the best power overall, but concrete was fun, it was so op.
WATER. POWERS. Seriously, it'd be amazing going from being able to explode fire hydrants (because OBVIOUSLY it would be set in America), then to summoning rain clouds, exploding river banks and drains, then onto a tsunami and being able to level a city.
Another actual quote he said that might be more why people are getting pissed off is:
"Speaking to MCV last September, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said regarding Horizon Forbidden West's PS4 announcement:
No one should be disappointed. Only souls game I've played is Bloodborne. And I think it took me damn near 30 hours to get past the first bit in Yarnham. I just couldn't get it. And I don't care what anyone says, some of these scenes in these games are CHEAP (being able to be hit through walls, enemies waiting behind doors etc). However, after trying, and trying (and trying...) I eventually read a basic set up for beginners and eventually managed to get past the first bit. I got to Cleric Beast and got battered, but beat him on my 2nd try. I then got to Father G and beat HIM on my 2nd attempt too (music box). But the Blood starved Beast absolutely flattened me into the ground. After 10x (and losing all my supplies that I'd farmed) I finally beat him too. I managed to get through about 6 bosses (I know I did Rom, Paarl, the witch and the shadows) I think, and then I got lost and couldn't remember where I was heading, so I never went back to it. It didn't click with me as much as it does with seemingly everyone else, I don't think it's as amazing as others, but it is satisfying when the system finally does click and and you can make progress. I assume DS is much the same.
@TheVoid although you are right, the fact that I personally haven't turned on my ps3 since getting my Ps4 probably suggests how little that affects me (personally, obviously YMMV). Most of the ps3 library that I used made the leap to ps4 anyway. I do get your point though.
I traded in all my physical media a couple of years ago (ps3, ps4, 3ds, blu-ray) to cex as I hate clutter and I had a ***** load of it. I like digital, as long as the price is right.
