@DarkestHour yeah, they aren't exactly A24 high brow horror but definitely fun with friends and family. Also I was really torn up when I got Brenda Song killed. Stayed with me for days lol.

Kinda prefer this one over Until Dawn personally.

Very close to $50 worth of rewards points on my PlayStation card but if I can't get there while this sale is still going on it might be for the best with PSVR2 right around the corner. Definitely curious about NFS though.

@mcdreamer that's pretty much what I did but at 20 bucks it's probably worth it. I should say I unlocked the 2nd island and then got distracted by other games and never ended up going back but a lot of fun up to that point.

@J_e_f_f__D yeah at almost 50 that's still overpriced. It's not as horrible as some make it out but it's definitely not a AAA title imo. Base price should be 49.99 at best.

@mrbone yeah but it's still running on backwards compatibility. that's gotta amount to some resolution loss, not to mention it loads slow as molasses even on the SSD.

Anyway, best episode yet imo. Even if Kathleen didn't work for me. And maybe the whole deaf+cancer was a little much too. Like pick one lol but really solid episode nonetheless.

One thing that I think this sketch misses the mark on is that it's acting as if the new TLOU series is a gritty take on a video game without realizing, it's simply a gritty video game in the first place.

I've still yet to see any sitting on store shelves and the digital still seems a little hard to come by even online but it's definitely a vast improvement from the situation over most of the past two years. I mean, I could just order a Disc edition Ragnarok bundle right now if I wanted. At retail. Weird lol.

Pretty much hate the cinematography but other than that it's pretty solid. And I definitely had my doubts. Even Ramsey seems fine in the role of Ellie. Not perfect, mind you, but not objectionable.

@InvaderJim also enjoyed the Curtis and Viper inclusion. Having a show definitely gives them a chance to more seamlessly weave in Part 2, which I look forward to.

@ChrisDeku agreed. everyone kinda conveniently ignoring the passing of time that has and will continue to have occurred since this game's initial release on console.

Still, it could've easily been 59.99 on PS5.

I'm all for moving on to PS5 exclusivity but choosing DLC for a cross-gen game as the time to make that move is borderline disrespectful. Anyone who can't admit that is in a bizarre place in life.

Even as a PS5 owner what I take away from this and their statement justifying it is they really held back for the main game (the one I paid 70 for) but the DLC "yeah man we went all in." Lol, like what?

@SolaceCreed perhaps due to the pandemic but the films were shelved in favor of the Rick/Michonne spinoff series.

As regards this series I was most worried about Pascal as Joel but honestly it's Ramsey that just doesn't work for me. That could change once I start watching but man is there an expectations to reality gulf at the moment.

Also don't understand the Sci-fi Channel lighting they got going on but that just seems to be the trend with more and more streamed shows these days. Not a fan. Doesn't need to be Ozark dark but holy moly I feel like I'm watching an episode of NCIS with these trailers.

@Milktastrophe kinda think he's rushing through the game so he'll be done and can stop worrying about spoilers (even inadvertent ones like this here article).

Luckily I don't care about this game but if I did, I'd call that Heimdall line a spoiler. A major spoiler? Of course not. But it does spoil a brief moment of revelation, yes. Which, in games driven by character and story, is kinda what it's all about.

But for some reason the staff on this site (and many users) are never willing to acknowledge they may have inadvertently spoiled some small bit of fun. Kinda disappointing really.

@Jettstyles so with PSVR 1 there were just the Move wands, which you didn't need for everything. But they helped and if you had them you kinda had to have 2. Those charged with same connection as the standard PS4 controllers. In my case, I seemed to have several different charging blocks and cables from cell phones that used the same USB type so I'd usually just charge the Move controllers with those but occasionally I'd use the PS4. In any case it's a bit of a juggling act keeping all the different controllers charged but honestly I never found it to be that much of a bother.

I imagine a controller charge station is something you never really need until you've had one and then there's no going back. That's probably why I'd never buy one because I know I'd be spoiled by it from then on.

I find just having a job to be a much easier and consistent way to make money than scalping but that's just me. So hopefully I'll be able to snag one tomorrow for personal use.

Game was never my cup of tea (though neither is SSB) but I didn't realize it was such a flop since my kids loved it at the time.

Funny that it's being referenced but man, what a spoiled Easter egg this is.

Still major patches coming out for this but there's nothing left to fix? I'm with @KaijuKaiser, there's definitely no harm in waiting for a complete edition, or something comparable, where the game will be at its absolute best.

Mind you I have a disc copy from launch but I'm not going back to what was an absolute mess of a game until it's definitely done.

I hate being told anything I didn't ask for. Even the "Hint" button that pops up in Tlou infuriates me because jfc I'm scavenging, not running around trying to find the obvious door I need to open.

A menu option regarding puzzle help is the only way to go on this.

@Would_you_kindly yeah I tried it for a good ten minutes several times yesterday and nothing registered. It's whatever, I kinda only care about the points but not so much I wanna commit hours trying to figure out how to get this to register.

Also annoyed that I just recently started Returnal to try it out and defeated Phrike like literally 2 days ago but that campaign isn't available to me so I guess certain campaigns will forever be unavailable should you do something after the campaign exists. And, well, that's kinda dumb.

@nessisonett fwiw I understand the impact this economy has on each individual varies and it doesn't always have anything to do with anyone's poor planning or lack of work ethic or other such bootstrap-ish mantras. And hard as I try not to spend money (primarily out of spite toward our corporate overlords) much of my ability to afford a PSVR2 is largely just happenstance.

@nessisonett lol, that kinda hurts. I mean, I'm willing to drop this much on VR but in my defense I'm about the most penny pinching tightwad on the planet with just about everything else as I'm generally opposed to consumerism but gaming is my one vice.

Was really turned off by the cheaply lit look the trailer had but I'm hoping maybe this gets fixed in post production, though I'm not even sure how much they can do when they seemed to have shot everything with soap opera lighting.

Still I wasn't aware Melanie Lynskey was in it so that's pretty much a guaranteed give it a try for me.

@KundaliniRising333 PSVR games definitely skewed gimmicky but much of this had to do with the aging move controllers. They were incredibly limiting. It'll be interesting to see what devs do with more capable controllers. Above and beyond the spec upgrades, this has got to be the most significant change coming to PSVR2 imo.

Though I can see why none of this justifies the expenditure in today's economy, I'm still really excited to see what can come out of VR what with Sony clearly taking it more serious with this iteration.

This doesn't seem particularly steep to me. So it's more a matter of beating out the bots. Not optimistic on that front but we shall see.

It's somewhat a source of fascination at this point that Sony manages to release 3 games every month that I have absolutely no interest in. Like. Every. Single. Month. There's maybe one a year I look forward to.

And I've mostly enjoyed Extra thus far but if it ends up just becoming primarily an Ubisoft dump, and it's maybe kinda looking that way, then that may change.

@Elodin This is one I had my eye on as well. Then along came the trial on premium. Ended up glad I didn't buy it, even on sale. If you've played one Borderlands you've played them all at this point, and unfortunately this one is no different in that regard.

This could be some 12 year old trying to seem smart and then an entire industry piles on him/her (though let's be honest this was almost definitely a guy). Seems a bit overkill. Especially with suicide rates what they are these days and how that has a lot to do with social media and how we treat each other.

@BartoxTharglod fair enough. And yeah we'd call it a convenience store but I'm the same. I'd rather starve then pick something up there. Or vending machines. I go to work with people who get something out of those basically every day and in my head I'm like "what are you doing?!"

So I share your miserly ways for most things. But I've slowly become a sucker for digital. It mostly started when I figured out I could buy one game and play at the same time with my son while he's on a separate console. Made stuff like Borderlands (which we enjoyed together) so much easier than split screen. Things kinda grew from there. It does definitely bother me that digital locks you into one store when it comes to PlayStation, not gonna lie.

Never thought about the region thing. Pretty secure in the idea I'll never leave the states as much as I'd love to so that's not a concern but I can see how having that flexibility would be good.

Well anyway, like I said, just wondering.

@nessisonett they're probably just going to push teams to work night and day to get caught back up to where they were. which is extremely unfortunate to say the least.

@Stocksy You complained about people saying the hacker should rot in jail so pardon my confusion. The existence of rapists doesn't make breaching someone else's network and stealing from them any less wrong in my view.
