Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Lose Another Seven Games Soon

Civ 6 is definitely worth the money. It's one of those "forever games" that you can always start a new run in and it always feels fresh since there's so many civs with different playstyles. I've already sunk so many hours into it and now that I'm thinking about it I want to play it again.

Re: Without a Physical PS5 Release, Alan Wake 2 Is Still Remedy's Fastest Selling Game

You buy the game digital to support the dev and then when it's off the market you just homebrew your console (it will be possible by that point) and continue to play the game. Nothing is ever truly lost when you go digital. Unless they shut down the servers....and even then, if the game was loved enough then fans will just bring it right back. Don't fear the digital future too much. There will always be a way to access content.

Ubisoft likes to scare you into buying games by threatening to take them off the service only to bring them back later. Honestly, you should just never buy a Ubi game because that's what usually happens. A shame because I considered them one of the kings of the PS3 era.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Persona 3 Reload?

@ButWhy
With the amount of love and care put into the game I think this statement is selling the game short. This is much more than a simple remaster since they didn't just update they resolution and called it a day, they went back and updated every single area of the game and even added a couple new ones. All while keeping the vibes of the original game. Persona 3 Reload looks how you remember it, not how Persona 3 actually looks. I'll give it to you that this is not the definitive version but adding the female MC would require a ton of more work on top of what they already did, it wouldn't have been a simple "reskin boy model to female" since her route is practically an entirely new experience in and of itself. They actually added most of the FES content to the base game with this release and even added new content never before released on top of it. They modernized the combat with new mechanics and completely touched up Tartarus so it's not exactly the same thing over and over. The one major missing piece to the game besides the female MC is "the answer" 's content, which I'm guessing is more likely to be released as DLC rather than as Persona 3 Reload "Royal Golden" or whatever since you'd naturally only play that content once you beat the main game. So it makes more sense to just finish it up and release it later while people are just finishing the game.

Tl;Dr... Calling it a mere remaster is a disservice to the amount of effort that was put into modernizing and updating the game. It's still not the definitive release we were hoping for...but getting the definitive release with every version of Persona 3 would have taken several years...just look at Final Fantasy 7.

Re: No Expanded Royal or Golden Edition for Persona 3 Reload, Atlus Promises

ATaco

It is kind of a shame that the female character was scrapped and that the answer's (admittedly meh anyways) content wasn't included but pound for pound the sheer amount of content they DID add pretty much makes it worth it, for me anyways. Then again I never had any interest in playing the female route in the first place so if that was your preference then I can understand this being a major deal breaker.

Re: Persona 3 Reload: Changes - All Differences Compared to Persona 3

ATaco

The rewind feature is both cool but can also feel kind of cheap at times. One way it was beneficial was when I went to Tartarus but forgot to gear Akihiko up beforehand. Rather than waste the day or struggling with him stuck with default gear I was able to rewind and stock up.

Times when it feels cheap however is when you screw up on a social link or answer something incorrectly. Now you can just rewind and try again, so you never really feel like you're dealing with the consequences of your actions. Sure I COULD just pretend rewind doesn't exist but it's so easy and convenient that I just can't help myself.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Persona 3 Reload?

@bassjas12
It would definitely make more sense to make "The Answer" as DLC since that takes place after the main story. So people that are waiting for a "royal" version, where you have to buy it all over again might not wind up getting what they expected. Though this is Atlus so I guess we never really know.

Yep, I pretty much bought a series S just so I could play games like this day one for "free". Well with all the rewards points I earn with Microsoft the membership really does pay for itself. I really wish Sony at least had an equivalent to that because Stars kinda pales in comparison.
