Re: Poll: Was Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 Any Good?

Was torn between Okay & Poor but went with Okay. It was definitely I think his best show but I don’t need or want to see games I’ve seen multiple times already. The pacing is some how still terrible. Also the pikachu car commercial, random astronaut, and nonsensical awards were unneeded.

Re: PS Plus Premium, Deluxe Subscribers Bemused by August Update

There’s no doubt Extra has been fantastic so far, but Premium has been an incredible let down. For only the second month of this new service I think it’s something they should honestly be embarrassed about. Especially since they’ve removed games like Sky Cooper and Silent Hill that were already on PSNow, to likely give Ps+ Premium a couple “big” future announcements. Without monthly additions of classic PS1-PS3 games I’m leaning towards dropping it in favor of just Extra for now since they’re already showing us there’s not much of reason to be continually signed up.

Re: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for July 2022 Announced

It’s a really solid offering of games. But it is super disappointing to see them giving us another game that’s already currently in the Extra tier. No one cared when they did this with PSNow but hopefully with the new service stuff like this gets more attention criticism and they put a stop to it soon.

I’m gonna be honest, Sony not making this move is making me worry about the future of PlayStation a bit. With all the talk of expanding into live service and mobile gaming, It doesn’t really seem like narrative single player games are as much of a priority. With all the studios Microsoft has bought and the games they’re taking away from PlayStation players this was clearly a missed opportunity to bring in two talented and capable AAA studios with histories of narrative single player games for relatively cheap considering they just spent 3 billion on Bungie. Would have been really cool to see what these studios were capable of under Sonys direction.

Re: PS Plus March 2022 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

Really disappointing that they’re double dipping with two PSNow games this month while also pulling the PS5 only crap. For 5 dollars a month I don’t expect every month to be a banger but there’s literally thousands of other games they could have given us instead of ones they’ve already given most of us on their other services.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on Sony's Buyout of Bungie?

BamBamBaklava89

The move does very little of assuring me more of my favorite games aren’t about to be stripped away and made Xbox/gamepass exclusive. It also seems like a massive overpay for a company that it sounds like they actually have very little control over. Personally I would of much rather seen them spend 3 billion dollars on multiple smaller studios like Supermassive, Remedy, Techland, Ember Labs, etc. If they were gonna spend that on a single studio I wish they went after Gearbox which was sold for far less not long ago, or gone all out for a Capcom, Square, or Sega.

Re: Talking Point: In Theory, Could Xbox Game Pass Come to PS5, PS4?

BamBamBaklava89

I don’t think it’ll happen and It does seem like a no brainer for both companies, but I don’t think either really want to. I guess it all comes down to what Microsofts intentions are. They’ve said in the past they don’t believe in exclusives but that was followed by a buyout of Bethesda and an announcement of Starfield being exclusive. But if they really do want to just be everywhere people play games I don’t believe Sony would stop them from publishing any of their games on PlayStation consoles if that’s what Microsoft wanted. Also If you put gamepass, which is definitely operating at a loss on PlayStation you instantly have access to 100 million+ players but also hand Sony the one system that can play both big publishers titles and even less of a reason to buy a physical Xbox. That being said I would definitely use it to play Microsoft first party games.

Re: Poll: Does Sony Need to Take Action After Microsoft's Activision Buyout?

BamBamBaklava89

Obviously they can’t beat Microsoft in terms of throwing money at a problem, but I do think they need to expand their first party output heavily with multiple acquisitions while also releasing some titles day and date on PC. AAA third party is disappearing and I don’t think people realize the amount of games that won’t be coming to playstation in the not so distant future.

I think at this point they should definitely be looking at Capcom and Sega as well as some independent teams. Especially Remedy, Techland, Ember Lab, Hello Games, Frictional Games & Supermassive among others. I think them partnering with Bethesda on two games just have them bought by their biggest competitor shows they have to focus more on first party and can’t rely on having big third party games consistently in the future.
