I don't really wanna get into how potentially bad digital can be for the consumer. All I'll say is I'm very happy with my physical collection of fav movies, fav music cds and all my fav physical PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and PS5 games, yes im still rocking the music cds. Nothing lasts forever of course but I'm far happier when it's physical. Space isn't much of a difficult issue when just sticking to your favs rather than buying everything up because it exists. There's also chunky plastic storage boxes for the older stuff that can be easily and safely stored away in dry corners of rooms that don't get lived in
Don't like to sound like a hypocrite as there is a few digital PS4 and PS5 games I own but those are games that were on very cheap unmissable deals on the PS Store and have eventually grabbed some of those digital games physically later on. PS Plus as well of course
My goty for 2023 is Marvels Spider-man 2. Thoroughly deserved too. Such a well crafted super hero game in a perfectly suited open world for Pete and Miles to swing around in. Insomniac have nailed it. 2nd to none, with the first two Arkham games very closely behind when it comes to super hero games
Nice to see Hogwarts get a win for PS4 goty too. Currently having so much fun with it, so I can see why
Edit. I think licensed movie games being not so good as games are far behind us now. Recent Hogwarts, recent Insomniac Spidey and previous Arkham games are all top tier. Its just a shame licensed movie games 99.99999% of the time always seem to get ignored or never win at the bigger goty award shows
@Rmg0731 yh there's a lot to look forward to still. Couple 1st party surprises would be nice too. Ragnarok Valhalla is a very welcome appreciated surprise, even though ain't got round to it yet
@HonestTruth TLoU Part 1 and Part 2 are amazing goty games, that's why they've been remastered or hybrid remade. Many crap games don't get remakes or remastered because, well they're crap. There's the successful and well received tv show for TLoU and the eventual PC versions to be considered is partly why too
A little worried about the next 12 to 18 months 1st party wise. Yh we might get a couple 1st party teasers from outta nowhere in State of Plays and a bigger Showcase in 2024 but how far off would those 1st party games be from actual release. Unless there's 1st party games we know nothing about that are almost ready for release at some point in 2nd half of 2024, would be nice but doubt it. Not massively worried to much as theres still gonna be so many great 3rd and 2nd party games to come next year doing the work like Infinite Wealth, SH2, DS2, Stellar Blade and others
Does PlayStation have a few surprises up their sleeve 1st party wise for 2024, I certainly hope so. Decent State of Plays with decent surprises and a very good Showcase for the near future with some amazing reveals
Adore my PS5 every evening but its the first time in a very long time that I'm very skeptical about PS 1st party going forward
Was worried where I'm going with this, as it appears very unrelated, then I realised State of Plays, Showcases and 1st party contribute to selling PS5s very much
Just Hogwarts atm. Enjoying it a lot so far but that could change depending on how these so called collectables become a slog towards the platinum. Hoping to get a good 8 hours in on it later this afternoon and this evening, once the boring cleaning chores are done
Witcher 3 PS5 and TLoU Part 2 remastered throughout Jan and Feb. Also Teardown inbetween those two and maybe 2 or 3 more slightly smaller PS Plus games
50/50 on installing Ragnarok for Valahalla, very tempted. Most likely save it for next year. Also MGS collection vol 1 saving for next year once many more patch updates. Just really nice to have MGS on modern consoles for whenever feel the sneaky nostalgia again
Why not, all done, only took a couple mins. Think we should have a poll for favourite biscuits, there's a good chance chocolate hobnobs are topping my list, love me some coconut rings too
@Nepp67 clearly I understand what you saying. I'm just giving an example of why a NG+ might not be included at launch in comment 18. It might well be the case that NG+ could have released with Spiderman 2 on launch but that original Spiderman 2 launch could have been delayed if the NG+ were to be included?. The main campaign for nearly every development team, is the priority over everything else, surely
@Nepp67 why do some games release without New Game + and some do
Here's something I quickly found online, which I've read similarly before a while back
One of the main reasons and perhaps most obvious answers, is the crucial, yet vital, development time studios save by not having to include NG+ at launch, hitting dates to coincide with marketing and avoiding negative crunch press is incredibly important when releasing a game. While it may seem like a simple feature, NG+ is often much more complicated to integrate into a games infrastructure than one may think. Finding and avoiding exploits with a fully upgraded character before allowing them to revisit early game segments with a NG+ run is easier said than done. By not including it at launch developers can put their valuable time and resources towards bugs and polishing that is bound to have a much higher impact on a games review score than the inclusion of NG+ would have
@Nepp67 some will include it at launch, many others don't either, it's not just PS 1st party that dont include it at launch. Matters far more to me getting the main campaign buttery smooth as possible and as bug free as possible on launch, and if that means waiting a little for New Game + then so be it
@MikeOrator I don't really relate to the every month moan, as I'm quite positive most months per year when theres at least 1 or 2 I want to play per month and I obviously can't speak for other gamers
It's not so much wanting or demanding the games that I think should be on it, more to do with having 1 or 2 games that interest me enough to want to check out every Extra month, this particular month hasn't done that for me personally
A really good never ending backlog genuinely helps when theres a not so good month, rather than saying when my sub ends I'm not renewing mentality. There will always be good and bad months on a personal taste level. We simply dont get to pick and choose what gets picked for subs, the nature of the beast
@MikeOrator ain't heard anyone mentioning Spiderman 3 better be on PS Plus
Calling other gamers nitwits for saying this month is bad for themselves doesn't make them a nitwit or entitled. You pay for a subscription service and you'd expect there to be at least 1 game that tickles your fancy out of the approximately 15 games every month but sometimes there simply is not. Venting a little frustration does not equal entitled or a nitwit
Can't rush high quality, Insomniac always knows this. You can argue all you want about New Game + should have been there day one but they we're focused on getting the main campaign as polished as possible first, nothing wrong with that
Not expecting there to be good triple A 3rd party every single month. Having said that there's literally nothing amazing, impressive, excellent, cool, breathtaking, unbelievable, inspiring, super, wonderful, magnificent, terrific, astonishing, marvelous, astounding, incredible, splendid, remarkable, fabulous, stunning, fantastic, formidable, staggering, outstanding or mind blowing about any of these titles
Speak for yourself and all that, I get it. Appreciate the positivity, I just can't find it on this occasion
Maybe it says a lot about me when having to look these games up to see what they're about rather than their quality. It also says a lot that if I've had to look up nearly all these games then there's real chances of me never wanting to buy these games normally in the first place. GTA PS5 is already in library for future backlog. Obviously heard of MegaMan classics before but if I was a huge fan they'd have been purchased years ago already. Never had any intentions of ever playing a BuzzLightyear game, most likely no trophies either. Usually there's plenty of PS Plus Extra games that I've always been 50/50 on and then end up enjoying but no its 99% don't care for these. Still looking up a couple more on this list, so far nothing. Cant please everyone I suppose but genuinely disappointed this time. If there's a few in there for you fairplay enjoy
Already had my fill with the Ragnarok platinum, enjoyed very much. Waiting for many reviews written and vids before deciding whether to jump back in. Roguelike ain't my favourite flavour but because its GoW willing to try if reviews interest my gaming head. Times a premium with current backlog mission I'm on
Could have had far more trophies but been quite a busy year with the boring adult s**t, which obviously needs to be done unfortunately. Still managed to get some decent gaming in though
Busy atm so can't really start yet. Just wondering does it require the whole Raganrok game to be installed or do I just pop in the Ragnarok disc to get the free Valhalla download option appear. Has to have a dozen new Valhalla trophies to have go at right, would be so weird without new ones. Only being announced the other day, info online is a bit sparse
Silent Hill 2, Rise of Ronin or Stellar Blade could get a new trailer revealing more juicy gameplay. I'd love a brand new 1st party reveal but most likely saving all these for whenever the next showcase is. I'd be satisfied with a new look at Death Stranding 2, even more satisfied with a release date
@Cherip-the-Ripper I remember it's sequel didn't get great reviews but ended up really enjoying it, yh can't beat the first one though. Denzel as Robert Mcall is just so cool, almost kinda like a super hero without a cape. Be nice to have the whole trilogy on 4K anyways
When you pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too, fav line in the excellent brick by brick scene
@Cherip-the-Ripper I know yh there's some I can't wait to watch especially John Wick 4
Is Equalizer 3 a bad movie then, haven't seen any reviews for it yet or anyone talking bad about it, only seen the trailers for it so far. Do really enjoy both Equalizer 1 and 2 on 4K so there's a fairly decent chance I will enjoy the third?
All Quiet on the Western Front, John Wick 4, Guardians vol 3, Gran Turismo movie and Oppenheimer have them all on physical 4K but haven't got round to any of them yet so recently decided to save them all for the Christmas period. Equalizer 3 on physical 4K soon too, and maybe the new physical Titanic 4K if can afford it
No multiple monthly bills for multiple streaming sites to watch all your fav new releases, no worrying of them being availible or ever leaving
Physical 4K movies will always be a better quality viewing experience than what streaming has to offer, or buying digital as you never 100% own digital movies like you do with physical
Platted Gotham Knights a few nights ago from Extra, now slowly levelling up gear for Heroic Assaults and Showdowns for 100%. Gotham Knights campaign ain't nothing special but stuck with it and ended up really enjoying it overall. Finally started Hogwarts Legacy last night for few hours, good first impressions so far. Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series and Jet Rider aka Moto have been a nice welcome improvement for me on Premium. Need to play more of Teardown at some point too, looking forward to it
Balancing games from all PS Plus tiers and purchased games of my own is proving to be quite a challenging game within itself
@TrannosaurusBex yh me thinks Witcher 3 first too. Did briefly forget TLoU Part 2 remastered is middle of January too so I'll have to temporarily stop Witcher 3 for a while as I quickly platinum Part 2, I know its not everyone's favourite but I absolutely adore Part 2
Still haven't properly played or had fun with any CDPR game yet, mostly because I'm really late to the Witcher 3 party and haven't touched Cyberpunk since the PS4 poop version. Does seem like the best ever time to finally try the PS5 version of Cyberpunk now. Still a Witcher 3 virgin as well and I don't know which one to start with in my January backlog mission, probably Witcher 3 first as its the oldest and more complete finished game, or just toss a coin
A juicy lengthy more than worthwhile campaign then I'll be there playing it first week, after seeing tons of reviews first, obviously. A games multiplayer always considered a bonus if really enjoyed the main game. Wondering what type of new they can bring to the table this time. Satisfying explosions with rocket launchers when farting around on the map is a must still
@kungfumongoose most likely have no trophy support on Premium classics being 3rd party titles. The reasoning for wanting trophies is I can already play the classics on PS3 through its PS1 backwards compatibilty with the original RE PS1 discs on PS3 or just whip out the original PS1 console. Better to have them on premium though than nothing at all I suppose, even without trophies
If they remake RE5 and 6 and completely ignore Code Veronica then I'm officially done with RE series going forward. If RE9 is actually creepy survival horror again I'll obviously be back on board but I doubt it if RE8 96% full of action and 4% actual creepy scares is anything to go by
Baffles me how the original 90s RE classic trilogy has been completely ignored for ports with trophy support in a nice little collection for more modern consoles. Meanwhile old Sonic games gets tons of collections over the years, old Street Fighter classics gets tons of collections over the years and more recently the troubled no Hideo Kojima MGS series gets collections. No I don't mean remakes as I obviously appreciate those, Nemesis remake not so much, the 90s originals I mean
Voted I'm not sure, simply because it's far to early to be saying its been a pointless acquisition. Marathon could do really well yet and be a huge success for PlayStation and Bungie?. So have this same vote again a little while after Marathon is out
Never once needed GamePass to enjoy gaming. PS5 doesn't need it, it's doing more than fine without it. Never once have I ever thought to myself do yer know what I need two subs on the same console. Xbox 1st party has never really interested me outside of one or two releases every 3 or 4 years, so it's a why what's the point
@TheMysticOne doing this thing now where every 5p, 10p and 20p loose change I have I put in a jar after every shopping trip, specifically for Premium Plus. Those silver coins especially the 20p sure do add up over time and by the time my yearly Premium sub needs paying I've already payed about 80% of it with just yearly spare change in a jar. I totally get the budgeting thing, balancing bills and other must have things with gaming can be very difficult. Sacrifices on some new must play games released every year have to be made for other must play new releases, unfortunately, having said that it really is nice when they get chunky sales 6 to 12 months later or end up on Plus down the road. Having the huge backlog build up can be annoying but at the same time can be so good when budgeting
@TheMysticOne if you have Extra as well, those December Extra games will be playable a few days before Christmas too. All depends on what those Extra games will be, come middle of December's Extra reveals
Already have Powerwash Simulator and is absolutely superb for what it is. Be getting its Spongebob dlc soon and maybe the Back to the Future dlc too if that one also comes with extra trophies. Just seen a review for Sable which left me a bit empty tbh so I'll be staying with my Hogwarts Legacy December plans. 50/50 on Lego 2K Drive haven't made my mind up, if it's plat is below the 40 hour mark might try it?
@DonaldMcRonald same here not sure either. I mean there's plenty that adore both South Park and coop multiplayer so Snow Day should do well for itself if decently put together and fun to play
Using the 10 upgrade path first with the PS4 disc. Upgrade should potentially be a little cheaper than 10 for UK?. If there's a STANDARD physical PS5 version then I will also be getting that too down the road when on chunky Amazon, Argos or GAME sales?. While physical is still kicking about I like to still have most of my favs physically
We the public voters only counts towards 10% of the total votes for the actual goty winner. The other 90% is in goods hands though as I'm assuming the other 90% all mostly love BG3 too? going by all the positive reception and reviews. Personally I think South Park Fractured But Whole should have been nominated
While Roguelike games have always triggered my anxiety to a very high level that really stresses me out and makes for a very uncomfortable experience personally. Even just the thought of roguelike puts me off. I do adore this world and gameplay though and I'm pretty handy at its gameplay once the bit of rust is off, so I'm very much willing to try it. Main story campaign platinum first without any save transfer and when that's done again I will be at the top of my game in the combat department in readiness for roguelike, giving me a far better chance at enjoying a roguelike?. Be a nice little bonus if this No Return roguelike comes with over half a dozen new trophies
Honestly with my never ending backlog and PS Plus Essential, Extra and Premium to be getting on with, plus a few more new early releases next year I'm kinda glad it's being delayed and with it being delayed should end up a better video game
@DonaldMcRonald I know right. Got it from Wiki. There's actually quite a few games missing that I didn't include from IOS, Linux, Windows and Mac, I'm assuming those are mobile games or PC exclusives, I only included mostly console and a few PSP?
Disruptor 1996 Spyro 1998 Spyro 2 1999 Spyro 3 2000 R&C 2002 R&C Going Commando 2003 R&C Up Your Arsenal 2004 Ratchet Deadlocked 2005 Resistance Fall of Man 2006 R&C Tools of Destruction 2007 R&C Quest For Booty 2008 Resistance 2 2008 R&C A Crack In Time 2009 Resistance 3 2011 R&C All 4 One 2011 R&C Full Frontal Assault 2012 Fuse 2013 R&C Into the Nexus 2013 Sunset Overdrive 2014 R&C reboot 2016 Song of the Deep 2016 Marvels Spiderman 2018 Miles Morales 2020 Marvels Spiderman remastered 2020 R&C Rift Apart 2021 Marvels Spiderman 2 2023 Wolverine 2024? 2025?
What's the reason why the dlc doesn't come on a PS5 disc, especially when you consider PS5 discs have more space than an Xbox disc, baffling. If it's for the reason of Xbox having the marketing deals on there end, that's just a s**tty excuse
Will never buy this physical edition now, what's the point anyway when already have the digital version

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1 Adds Metro System, On-Person Radio, Car Races, and Much More
Still haven't properly played or had fun with any CDPR game yet, mostly because I'm really late to the Witcher 3 party and haven't touched Cyberpunk since the PS4 poop version. Does seem like the best ever time to finally try the PS5 version of Cyberpunk now. Still a Witcher 3 virgin as well and I don't know which one to start with in my January backlog mission, probably Witcher 3 first as its the oldest and more complete finished game, or just toss a coin
Re: GTA 6 Trailer Debuts on Tuesday, 5th December
A juicy lengthy more than worthwhile campaign then I'll be there playing it first week, after seeing tons of reviews first, obviously. A games multiplayer always considered a bonus if really enjoyed the main game. Wondering what type of new they can bring to the table this time. Satisfying explosions with rocket launchers when farting around on the map is a must still
Re: More Resident Evil Remakes Are on the Way, Capcom Confirms
@kungfumongoose most likely have no trophy support on Premium classics being 3rd party titles. The reasoning for wanting trophies is I can already play the classics on PS3 through its PS1 backwards compatibilty with the original RE PS1 discs on PS3 or just whip out the original PS1 console. Better to have them on premium though than nothing at all I suppose, even without trophies
Re: More Resident Evil Remakes Are on the Way, Capcom Confirms
Re: Talking Point: Is Bungie Really the Right Developer to Aid Sony's Live-Service Push?
Voted I'm not sure, simply because it's far to early to be saying its been a pointless acquisition. Marathon could do really well yet and be a huge success for PlayStation and Bungie?. So have this same vote again a little while after Marathon is out
Re: Microsoft Still Wants to Put Xbox Game Pass on PS5, PS4
Never once needed GamePass to enjoy gaming. PS5 doesn't need it, it's doing more than fine without it. Never once have I ever thought to myself do yer know what I need two subs on the same console. Xbox 1st party has never really interested me outside of one or two releases every 3 or 4 years, so it's a why what's the point
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for December 2023 Announced
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for December 2023 Announced
@TheMysticOne if you have Extra as well, those December Extra games will be playable a few days before Christmas too. All depends on what those Extra games will be, come middle of December's Extra reveals
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for December 2023 Announced
Already have Powerwash Simulator and is absolutely superb for what it is. Be getting its Spongebob dlc soon and maybe the Back to the Future dlc too if that one also comes with extra trophies. Just seen a review for Sable which left me a bit empty tbh so I'll be staying with my Hogwarts Legacy December plans. 50/50 on Lego 2K Drive haven't made my mind up, if it's plat is below the 40 hour mark might try it?
Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Remaster's Roguelike Mode Reportedly Comprises 12 Levels
@Shigurui I really liked the script, although it is a really tough one to take at first and very understandable at how devisive it all is
Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Is a Lock for Game of the Year, According to Most PlayStation Fans
@DonaldMcRonald same here not sure either. I mean there's plenty that adore both South Park and coop multiplayer so Snow Day should do well for itself if decently put together and fun to play
Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Is a Lock for Game of the Year, According to Most PlayStation Fans
@DonaldMcRonald I'm aware ha, it was just a little joke. Very fun platinum that was
Re: Don't Fret, Physical Fans, The Last of Us 2 Remastered's WLF Edition Contains a Disc
Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Is a Lock for Game of the Year, According to Most PlayStation Fans
We the public voters only counts towards 10% of the total votes for the actual goty winner. The other 90% is in goods hands though as I'm assuming the other 90% all mostly love BG3 too? going by all the positive reception and reviews. Personally I think South Park Fractured But Whole should have been nominated
Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Remaster's Roguelike Mode Reportedly Comprises 12 Levels
@Shigurui if a post apocalyptic world ain't a miserable place then they're doing it wrong
Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Remaster's Roguelike Mode Reportedly Comprises 12 Levels
Re: Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 Hit with a Heavy Delay into Second Half of 2024
Honestly with my never ending backlog and PS Plus Essential, Extra and Premium to be getting on with, plus a few more new early releases next year I'm kinda glad it's being delayed and with it being delayed should end up a better video game
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Enjoys Huge Launch in Europe, Easily Topping the First Game and Miles Morales
@DonaldMcRonald I know right. Got it from Wiki. There's actually quite a few games missing that I didn't include from IOS, Linux, Windows and Mac, I'm assuming those are mobile games or PC exclusives, I only included mostly console and a few PSP?

Re: It's Utter Domination for PS5 in Europe as Xbox Continues to Lose Significant Ground
Is it really that surprising, PlayStation is the best. Meanwhile Xbox is circling the bowl again, one day they'll be flushed down the hole of crap
Apologies I couldn't help myself
Re: Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition Won't Have Its Own Separate Trophy List on PS5
Re: UK Sales Charts: Hogwarts Legacy Apparates Back to the Top Spot
@Dodoo even I don't know what I mean sometimes😆
