Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut

Beerheadgamer82

@rockodoodle @Ralizah like so many I adore Nintendo for doing its own thing but imagine Nintendo 1st party games with nearly all the 3rd party games included as well on a genuine current console. Yes I know it doesn't look good considering their last attempts at the more up to date traditional home consoles but that's what I want, obviously Nintendo don't make consoles specifically for me. It's looking most likely they'll stick to another hybrid with some obvious improvements but backwards compatibility with the Switch is a must for a far better chance of continued success imo. Aware games having trophies doesn't translate to being a better game but if Nintendo has their very own trophies/achievements on their new console I might just be back on board

Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut

Beerheadgamer82

@Cashews lol the original PS2 is far sexier than the slim PS2. Used to hate how the slim PS2 opens meaning the slimness of it all became completely useless. The DualShock 4 was a very much needed improvement at the time and the DualSense (for me at least) is now the greatest controller my gaming paws has ever gamed on

Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut

Beerheadgamer82

@Cashews I haven't gamed on Nintendo since the original Wii and 3DS. Around 2013/14 being my last time on a Nintendo?. I just wanted Nintendo to do a more traditional home console like it did with the Gamecube even though Gamecube didn't do so well for itself. Plus the fact I'm well into the better online experiences the PS4/5 has and the whole trophy thing I really enjoy quite a lot on many games these days. If Nintendo did a far more up to date home console with a really good controller for it and far better online with their very own versions of trophies/achievements I'll be all over it and they'll end up with far better 3rd party support on almost every 3rd party game like PS and Xbox mostly does. Obviously not played Switch cloud versions but it looks like they suck? from everything I've heard. I wouldn't mind playing with Mario and Zelda in 4k and possible smoother fps and bit of ray. I'd really love to try 100% platting a new Zelda or Metroid game in 4K and better fps with ray

Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut

Beerheadgamer82

@Cashews oh my bad got my date numbers mixed up, almost 4 years instead of almost 5 years then, my point still stands though. it's very debatable as to whether the Switch is current gen or not or last gen. What it has done though is get all their Nintendo handheld fans (of which there is a lot) and combined them altogether with their console release. It's one of the smartest moves in gaming history imo and it's genuinly payed off as the numbers don't lie. Also the Switch being the cheapest on the market with various different versions to go for has helped with sales for sure. I'll ask a question, if Nintendo released a genuinely updated home console (not a hybrid handheld) with a possible 4K and a possible smooth 60fps and possible ray tracing like the other two current gen consoles do at a price of around 400, 450 or maybe close to 500 do you think it will be as successful as the current Switch has been, I don't think it will?

Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut

Beerheadgamer82

@Cashews I don't claim to know any business talk of these giant company's. What I do know is 40 mil in less than 3 years and in the middle of a pendemic is very impressive. The Switch released in March 2017 and has constantly sold great numbers 2nd to none. PS5 released in November 2021 during a pandemic almost 5 years after the Switch and with Switch having 100 mil sold by the time the PS5 originally released. Of course the Switch is gonna be the more popular current console when it's been on the market almost 5 years before the PS5. Even though the Switch ain't current gen and wasn't exactly current gen on the previous gen

Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut

Beerheadgamer82

@trev666 yh that's gotta be it. So there's potentially 3 new PS5 consoles coming by the end of next year. A slim, a detachable and a potential PS5 pro towards the end of 2024. I'm doubting the slim as I think the slim will also be the detachable and even when adding the disc drive it'll still be slimmer than the current PS5

Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut

Beerheadgamer82

@Cashews Sony is not happy with the number of consoles sold, I'm doubting this one considering they've recently announced 40 million PS5s sold and not just shipped or sitting on store shelves, every single one of those 40 mil are in gamers hands. Considering the pandemic and shortages Sony went through 40 mil sold is very pleasing if you ask me. Maybe these recent deal sales are Sonys way of trying to make up for those sales that were much slower than usual during the pandemic

Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut

Beerheadgamer82

Wouldn't be surprised the DualSense controller sales have gone through the roof too at 30% off. Can't remember PS4 having similar deal sales like this that ain't Black Friday. The more I think about it the more it feels a little weird like somethings going on as to why or maybe it's just clever marketing to get more gamers on PS5. Sell the PS5 for less than usual but make huge gains by getting many more PS5s sold than usual

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for August 2023 Announced

Beerheadgamer82

None of these are for me but in a weird sort of way I'm kinda glad. I can more reliably work on my backlog without thinking of more must play games to be playing which also includes many other PS Plus games too. Dreams would have been better on Plus well over a year ago and now it's not supported anymore from September onwards kinda puts me off it quite a bit

Re: PS Plus Members Can Watch the Gran Turismo Movie Early

Beerheadgamer82

Yup going to my local Cineworld on my doorstep barely a few mins on foot. If enjoyed it enough in cinema then I'll be getting it on physical 4K too which will obviously be in better quality than streaming 4K content that you don't own. Really enjoy movie/documentaries like Senna, Le Mans 66(Ford vs Ferrari), Williams and Rush and being such a huge Gran Turismo fan for 25 plus years now, so this GT movie is right up my alley

Re: You Could Own the Gran Turismo Movie's Nissan GT-R Racing Car with Upcoming Auction

Beerheadgamer82

@Cashews early reviews from those who have seen it early says its really good. Sony Pictures youtube channel alone has 3 trailers at 7.4 mil, 4.6 mil and 15 mil. The whole GT video game series has almost 100 mil games sold soon. While none of this translates to more bottoms on cinema seats, it does show its way more popular of a series than some will give it credit for. With these sort of numbers it has a better chance of being a success rather than a flop. On top of all that, there is around the world just so many people who are fans of all sorts of motorsports in general, meaning there could be many potential motorsports fans going to see the GT movie despite never playing a GT game before?

Re: Amazing Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bundle Announced

Beerheadgamer82

@Marquez have the standard white and black for most games and the all black DualSense specifically for racing games only, makes the controllers last a little bit longer this way. Saving my cosmic red DualSense for when needed, probably in a couple years from now. Most likely grab the blue one next year

Re: Amazing Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bundle Announced

Beerheadgamer82

Actually given it another thought. It's gonna be around £150 all in for the plates and controller maybe more. I'd soon rather just get another standard DualSense in two or three years when genuinely need one. Already have two still in good condition plus a sealed cherry DualSense. Tempted by the light blue DualSense next

Re: Amazing Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bundle Announced

Beerheadgamer82

Wouldn't mind the faceplates and controller. What do they mean by limited these days, guessing you'll have to be quick and will only be available from PlayStations very own online store. Highly unlikely I'll be able to secure a pre order, maybe if its available on Amazon but I'm 99.99999% sure it'll be sold out on there. Oh well its not needed to enjoy the game come 20th October anyways but would be nice

Re: Exoprimal (PS5) - One of the Most Promising Online Co-Op Shooters in Eons

Beerheadgamer82

In all the reviews I've seen and read, not one has convinced me to part with my money, even if it was on PS Plus Premium or Extra day one I still wouldn't download it. My huge never ending backlog has far superior games to be always trying out and finishing. Not one for online shooters at all, even with dinosaurs and Sci fi involved. When I think of Capcom games I don't ever think of online shooters. All the powers to you if yous really enjoying it

Re: Preview: The Crew Motorfest Finally Hands PS5 Some Proper Arcade Racing

Beerheadgamer82

Intrigued for it. PS rebooting Motorstorm or Driveclub might just be perfect for PS having their own Forza Horizon competitor. Polyphony have ticked all the boxes when it comes to the more serious side of closed circuit racing but PS 1st party have nothing when it comes to having an over the top arcade racer of their own. There is of course always great 3rd party arcade racers like here on this article but not on the PS 1st party side. Who would be the most likely PS 1st party studio to do an over the top arcade racer of their own similar to something like Horizon outside of Polyphony Digital is another question, as Evolution studios no longer exists

Re: PS5 Sales Spike a Staggering 116% in Europe

Beerheadgamer82

After Spidey2 this year, what's next for PS in 2024. Off the top of my head can only think of Silent Hill 2 and Rise of Ronin which ain't PS 1st party. When's the next big 1st party triple A from PS next year for helping to maintain a momentum. Maybe they're having an off year with many games just not ready for 2024 requiring much more time in the oven. 2024 might be an off year for PS 1st party so it can make 25, 26 and 27 shine and be the best high quality experiences. Sort of nice to see a slightly better more overall number for the charts even though its still missing plenty of important numbers

Re: Every Little Helps! UK Giant Tesco Will Stop Stocking Physical Video Games

Beerheadgamer82

GAME, HMV, CeX and other similar entertainment stores in 10 years or less will all be replaced by the 9th greetings card shop in your local town selling even more useless paper and cardboard, replaced by even more 1 pound bargain stores selling even more useless plastic items, replaced by even more fast food chains selling even more useless junk turning many humans into more obesity each week with maybe less than 3% of their entire menus being actually healthy, replaced by the 12th coffee shop in your town selling even more overpriced far to sweet crappy coffees🥱💤. Literally zero reason to go to any big shopping centre soon

Re: Sony and Microsoft Sign a 'Binding Agreement' to Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation

Beerheadgamer82

If you are wondering why in 10 or 15 years from now or much less why GAME, HMV, CeX and many other similar stores have been replaced by a boring Primark, the 9th greetings card shop in your local town, more obese fast food junk or yet another coffee shop then look no further than at yourself. There will literally be zero reason to want to go to any local town soon. Once all those entertainment stores leave all the big shopping centres, it'll become a borefest. So many boring greeting card stores selling tons of useless paper and cardboard, bargain 1 pound shops selling so many useless plastic items, clothes and footwear stores and the same old overpriced boring coffee shops💤

Edit apologies I've commented in the wrong article haha wtf took me a good 5 mins this

Re: Every Little Helps! UK Giant Tesco Will Stop Stocking Physical Video Games

Beerheadgamer82

Said it before and I'll say it again, an all digital future reminds me of those obese humans in animated movie WALL- E. Impossible to predict the future of course but this lazy thing about its to much work to get off the sofa and put a disc into your console concerns me. Or while sitting on the sofa doing nothing and eating unhealthy junk food while ordering a physical game on Amazon for it to be delivered to your door without you ever needing to go anywhere, yh was ideal during the pandemic for a couple years but thats over now. Was fortunate enough to grab a physical 4K of The Last of Us tv show today in a real physical HMV store, you know the ones where you have to be standing up and physically lift your muscles on legs to get through the door to enter yh that one. Got some good exercise while being out touching some grass too, weather was a bit crap today though

Re: Sony and Microsoft Sign a 'Binding Agreement' to Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation

Beerheadgamer82

Was sitting on the toilet when I read this breaking news which pretty much sums it all up for me tbh. Can't remember the last time I've actually played an ActiBlizzKing game and im pretty confident in saying I've never ever played a Blizzard or King game in all my gaming life. Glad it's ActiBlizzKing and not Ubisoft, Sega, EA or Konami they're buying. Having said that they'll probably all be purchased by Monopolysoft in 15 years time

Re: The Last of Us Composer Gustavo Santaolalla May Have Teased a New Version of Part 2

Beerheadgamer82

I get the frustration of some who will no doubt complain remastering part 2 for PS5 saying does it really need it when it's already been patched, I genuinly get it. However if its just a £5 upgrade by popping in my PS4 disc into my PS5 to get the upgrade and it gives me a chance to experience this enjoyable rollercoaster of a ride all over again and earn its plat again with PS5 enhancements then yh I'm all for it. A new PC version with an enhanced PS5 version upgrade for £5 and $10 makes a lot of sense to me. Obviously better if it's a free upgrade but I've purchased a single cup of coffee for the same price

Re: The Last of Us TV Series Handed 24 Nominations at The Emmy Awards

Beerheadgamer82

@Splat should really enjoy it? but I'm expecting 1 maybe 2 episodes of the 9 to not be as good as the rest and that's fine and expected. I did read some saying that certain points of the game felt a bit rushed in the episodes. As long as the overall feel of all 9 episodes are satisfying and pleasing all will be good. Expecting the live action scenes overall to feel a little different looking than what a video game does, that's normal. Looking forward to it no matter what. Adore the TLoU games and really want a part3 so bloody much

Re: Microsoft Beats US Regulator FTC in Activision Blizzard Buyout Battle

Beerheadgamer82

Xbox making huge moves the last few years which makes for an improved showcase for them this year with their billions on acquisitions spent. Meanwhile the recent overdue PS showcase was massively disappointing and can't afford anyone like Bethesda and ActiBlizzKing. Yet the latest PS console is almost back to every 2 PS consoles sold Xbox sells 1 or most likely 3 to 2 or something like that just like it was between PS4 and One and of course the Switch continues to do huge numbers almost everywhere. Xbox clearly playing the very long game right now and it might just pay off next gen to become genuine market leaders and not just for a brief moment either, I mean longtime market leaders after spending their ways to the top by leaving the crappy 3rd party scraps for everyone else. Many of the best current 3rd party games might only be available on Xbox in the future, oh you only game on PS well tough, you'll have to get an Xbox if you want the best games because we bought them all. It's a genuine possibility

Re: Microsoft Beats US Regulator FTC in Activision Blizzard Buyout Battle

Beerheadgamer82

Wonder who is next for Microsoft if or when this officially goes through. Doubt they'll be able to buy anyone as big as ActivisionBlizzKing for another 5 or 7 years from now. It's 2028 breaking news Microsoft are attempting to buy EA, Ubisoft, Sega or Konami. There will also be quite a few smaller acquisitions along the way to help fill GamePass even more. A monopoly takes time and the more they buy over time the more evident that will become. Its evident to me already that those Xbox employees emails about putting PlayStation out of business are already becoming true, just not right now but it's very clear that this is still their aim with all their acquisitions recently over the last few years. Obviously no one can predict the future but if this carries on there will be a lack of good 3rd party games on a PlayStation console in the future. It's also evident and clear to me why 3rd party games like FF7, FF16 and Rise of the Ronin have become PlayStation exclusives and don't be surprised if PS attempt to get more 3rd party exclusives to try and counterreact in some way. Another counterreact would be Sony attempting to gobble up a chunky sized 3rd party company of their own, they have been saving for their own acquisition to happen but who that will be or how big of a company Sony will be able to afford is anyone's guess

Re: Japanese Final Fantasy 16 Sales Plummet by 90% in Second Week

Beerheadgamer82

195 countries on this earth and we only see probabaly 3 of them with 1 of the 3 being physical charts only. I'd hazard a guess one thing that will remain constant worldwide is the success of the Switch sales and its games but nowhere near as dominant as it is in Japan every week. PS5 and Xbox Series consoles will be a much better match in other countries no doubt. 192 countries we don't know about, let that sink in for a while

Re: Red Dead Redemption Revival Looking More and More Likely as Evidence Mounts

Beerheadgamer82

While I agree remasters never looks to be a good thing and only ever seems like a cashgrab milking it for all its worth, I do think this paticular remaster is genuinely worth doing a lot more than many other remasters. The demand for it by gamers has been there before the release of RDR2 and for many its been over a decade since last playing the original. They could have done something similar to what The Last of Us did 2013 PS3 and then quickly remastered for PS4 the following year 2014 but they didn't. RDR1 was 13 years ago and genuinly warrants a remaster especially when the demand is so high for it, makes sense to me. What's genuinely concerning about Rockstar though is where's the new IP, it's all remasters with no brand new IP at all. GTA6 will be a brand new story and guessing new characters but ain't no new IP. I guess when you make so much money from RDR2 and GTA5 why do they need to gamble on new IP, sucks

Re: Even Microsoft Is Expecting a Revised PS5 Hardware Model This Year

Beerheadgamer82

What if the detachable disc drive PS5 is also the slim PS5 as well, even when adding the disc drive could still be much slimmer than the base model. It's genuinely a possibility and something I've heard no one talk about at all. Base disc PS5, base digital PS5, detachable PS5, PS5 slim and PS5 pro that's a lot of potential confusing different PS5s but having the detachable PS5 also be the PS5 slim makes a lot of sense to me

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Info Will Be Revealed at San Diego Comic-Con

Beerheadgamer82

If they're planning a State of Play for it close to release then I doubt to much will be teased at the San Diego Comic-Con. Do agree about seeing to much of it though, be nice to see many of the new big action scenes for the first time when actually playing it rather than being shown and teased most of it beforehand. A good idea is to not watch these teases or SoP live and wait after instead to see what people say about it to find out if they show to much or not
