Re: UK Sales Charts: Hogwarts Legacy Apparates Back to the Top Spot

Beerheadgamer82

@Ravix No I get that I genuinly do. I think you misunderstood what I originally meant. The snobbery side to it all, is of the likes never seen before

BG3 being more universally loved than the rest would mean it would have to be completely destroying all other games this year in the sales departement but it hasn't. Yes BG3 is only currently available digitally on PC and PS5 but digital is by far the dominant purchase. BG3 winning goty, getting physical and Xbox releases could easily see it topping many sales charts and adding way more total numbers. Will it be amongst the best selling games this year for it to be universally loved I strongly doubt that, amongst the top 10 total sales this year maybe yes but not near the top to be universally loved

Re: UK Sales Charts: Hogwarts Legacy Apparates Back to the Top Spot

Beerheadgamer82

@Ravix my frustration isn't with games coming from a more niche audience to now way more popular like Souls and now more recently BG3 turnbased has become. I genuinly really like the idea of niche becoming more popular, like being the favourite to win a goty, wish far more games were able to achieve this. The frustration I have is, its all well and good saying how much you adore a game like BG3 but then its swiftly followed up in a very snobbery way in the same comment by how much every other game is crap in comparison to BG3, almost like BG3 is the greatest thing to ever happen to gaming, its clearly not

I've always liked the argument that if a game, music album or movie sells way more, doesn't necessarily mean its far superior or better. Sometimes though you have to come to the conclusion that the reason why open world games have been so popular for so long is maybe they're just really fun to get lost in open worlds and pour so many hours into them. Just maybe on this occasion open worlds are more popular because they're better, more fun overall. I say maybe with a pinch of salt because I know some here will get very salty by this

Fine to applaud, support or praise the games you adore, nothing wrong with that, obviously. Just can't stand the snobbery against all the other games most BG3 fans have come up with this past year. The year before was Elden Ring snobbery

BG3 ain't for me clearly but I wouldn't mind at all it winning goty, as daft as this sounds coming from me. Its such a great video game success story and I genuinly love to see it

Edit. I think frustration is the wrong word, mildly annoyed is more suitable

Re: UK Sales Charts: Hogwarts Legacy Apparates Back to the Top Spot

Beerheadgamer82

Grabbed Hogwarts on Argos sales a few months back specifically for December and Christmas. I don't really know why I've saved it for that period but my head just keeps thinking of Christmas time everytime I see HL vids. It's a very weird feeling and I'm not even a Potter fan. Maybe its the wizard hats combined with its old fashioned buildings reminds me of Christmas in some way

Re: Magical PS5 FPS Immortals of Aveum Is Probably Coming to PS Plus at Some Point

Beerheadgamer82

Meh. It's never looked appealing to me since first seeing it and all the other gameplay vids since that. Sure it looks nice and some interesting color magic sparkles with UE5. Even if it released in a far less packed year I still don't think it would have done any better, maybe marginally better?. It's a brand new IP so kudos for trying. If its not something like 100GB install sure I'll try it on Plus at least and maybe end up enjoying it? who knows

Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Remaster Leaks, Has a Brand New Survival Mode, Cut Levels

Beerheadgamer82

Oh boy I hope they've learned their lessons from part 1 remake even if this part 2 remastered is getting more stuff. Can smell £70 or £60. If they have learned hopefully it's massively reduced if already purchased the PS4 version or at the very least half of £70 if already have the game. Wasn't expecting all the extra stuff added to it, depends what the extra stuff contains and how good it is

Re: Poll: What Will Win Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023?

Beerheadgamer82

@DennisReynolds BG3 winning goty awards isn't set in stone, yes it feels more likely than
the others but you can't underestimate the other games. An example of this would be so many comments sections up and down the entire Internet a few years ago were saying there's no way The Last of Us part 2 will win goty and then it actually did. BG3 feels like it'll win and feels more likely than the others given all the comments up and down comment sections, but don't be surprised if it doesn't is all I'm saying, those other games are equally as deserving

Re: Poll: What Will Win Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023?

Beerheadgamer82

Has a turnbased game ever won a goty before, if not there's a first time for everything and would be nice to see even if it's not my cup of tea. Unsurprisingly BG3 is easily winning the votes here and will be the same in many other similar articles like this one from others. Keep in mind not every gamer in the world is here and never go to comment sections and there's so many other gamers around the world that have zero interest in BG3. Much prefer South Park turnbased and the latest mainline Yakuza turnbased😆, don't hate on me ha

Having said all that, I think BG3 has the best chance to take it overall but only just. Goty winner BG3, 2nd Totk, 3rd Spidey2 or AW2

Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Version Appears Inevitable Now

Beerheadgamer82

@GamingFan4Lyf 10 min ago just realised before you replied that Witcher 3 was a free upgrade. Got it mixed up with me buying the game for the first time about a year ago, making me think today that it wasn't a free upgrade. Still haven't gotten round to it yet since the remaster was announced, really looking forward to it, on a backlog mission atm the remainder of this year going into 2024

Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Version Appears Inevitable Now

Beerheadgamer82

Fair enough but Sony ain't the only ones charging for upgrades for older titles on newer consoles. GTA5 was an upgrade cost and Witcher 3 fairly recently was an upgrade cost. Lol don't get me started on the lazy port barebones £50 RDR1

As for Cyberpunk 2077, I understand its in a far better place in 2023 but my god was it hated on PS4 and ONE, with so much backlash it had to be removed from the PS store and refunds requested all over the place. So it made so much sense that the next gen PS5 Series Cyberpunk would be free on next gen for such a crappy previous last gen con

Edit. about Witcher 3 being an upgrade cost is wrong. Got it mixed up with me having to buy the game for the first time on a sale for around £7 to get the free upgrade

Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Version Appears Inevitable Now

Beerheadgamer82

@GamingFan4Lyf a game that wasn't intended for PC from the get go costs Sony money to then get it working for PC 2 to 4 years later. With the added fact PS 1st party games don't really do massive numbers when on PC like it does on PS4 or PS5s original release so they'll have to get some more of those PC development funds back somehow. Pretty sure Sony have purchased game company's fairly recently specifically for PC development which ultimately isnt cheap to get and keep up and running. Companys run their businesses differently as they see fit how they do things and ultimately want to make money, unless you have a couple trillion behind you to pretend lie that you have consumer friendly first and foremost. Honestly It's a valid point you make and can't really argue much with what you saying but I've tried and I could be very wrong too in my trying. When it's one of your personal fav games of all time, that cheap £5 or £10 upgrade cost becomes the equivalent of spending 5p or 10p

That PS5 Part 1 remake was genuinely far to much at £70 though even if it was a little more work than your average remaster. Was like a really weird remaster/remake hybrid

Re: 14 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Coming Next Week

Beerheadgamer82

@sanderson72 thanks for that. Earlier today checked a quick vid of it. Looks like could be my cup of tea and seems the ideal time to get into it with its sequel not far away. On a backlog mission atm though with so many must plays from this year still ain't got round to, either collecting dust on my shelf or still ain't installed since buying on PS store. Times a premium. Doesn't help the backlog when I'm trying to plat Gotham Knights on Extra and very recently starting Teardown too ha

Re: Feature: Celebrating 10 Years of PS4 with Our Favourite Games

Beerheadgamer82

Voted its a great console. Obviously has loads of excellent games, be here all day going through them all. PS1 being my fav PlayStation console. PS1 had so many first times in gaming at such an important time of me growing up and just learning new things in general, again far to many excellent games to mention. PS1 made me into the gamer I am today. Specifically 1998 what a great year on PS1 for me personally. If we talking exclusive 1st party only then yh PS4 is my fav PS console hands down

Re: 14 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Coming Next Week

Beerheadgamer82

Think it's fair to say Teardown has potentially saved November a little. Dead Island Riptide don't own so that's a nice little bonus I suppose. Hope these PS classics get trophies, think they do as most here are 1st party?

What's this first Dragon Dogma game like, is it turnbased or FF7 remake type action adventure. It does say in the announcement that this Dragon Dogma includes every dlc with it, what that dlc is I have no idea, skins, weapons or actual new story?

Re: October 2023 Circana: Spider-Man 2, PS5 Both Chart-Toppers as the Sony Streak Continues

Beerheadgamer82

Wouldn't be surprised if the Switch currently has almost 10 times the amount of Switch sold in the US compared to PS5s sold in the US and yet Spiderman 2 comes out on top. Weird to think but also not surprising either as Spidey2 is pure legit fun and 120hz, VRR and ray tracing all round on day one

Edit. Nevermind I'd forgotten about the Switch sales not including digital sales here, silly me, I'll take it on the chin

Re: Talking Point: As PS5 Turns 3, How Are You Feeling About It?

Beerheadgamer82

For me it's been a great continuation of the PS4. Don't mind Sony having a go at some of these gaas games if there's still roughly the same amount of top tier must play single player 1st party bangers to come and enjoy. Hoping the 2nd half of PS5 gen improves just like it did with the PS4s 2nd half banger after banger

Re: PS Plus Gets Heavy Discounts for Black Friday

Beerheadgamer82

Premuim sub runs till next year August so no good deal. Hoping for the standard DualSense to get heavily discounted in Argos and GAME again like it did a few months back. Can never have to many DualSense. Really like having the different random colors on DualSense controllers. If there's an absolute bargain on a must play game then I might jump on it?

Re: Sony's PlayStation Replay Patent Could Be a Genuine Game Changer

Beerheadgamer82

How many times over the years I've missed a collectable, for let's say a linear game like Uncharted 4. Even with a collectables youtube vid on phone they can still be easily missed once it autosaves and you can't go back meaning you have to wait till you finish the entire game or a whole new playthrough from start if no chapter select just to get the one or two collectables you've missed for trophy. So many other missable trophies than just collectables can easily be missed too. A manual save can help with this but so many times forgotten to manually save or not every game has the manually saving feature

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Dominates Golden Joystick Awards, Wins Game of the Year

Beerheadgamer82

Excuse me for this (as BG3 is not my type of genre I find to be any fun but that's just me so don't take it personally), there appears to be quite a lot of snobbery going about within the gaming community about BG3. The exact same happened with Elden Ring and quite a lot of Souls games and other Souls type games. All you read is how it's the best and the pinnacle of gaming, well I'm here to say its NOT the best or the pinnacle of gaming. Not saying BG3 or Elden Ring are terrible games, far from it. Just fed up of the snobbery they've created amongst the hardcore. Also a lot of that snobbery goes into review scores and gaming awards

Re: Sony Has Stopped Updating PS Plus' Subscriber Numbers

Beerheadgamer82

Premium sub runs till August next year. Tbh all it takes is half a dozen more must play PS1 and PSP classics for me to renew Premium for another year. Not been happy with many of the added Premium classics recently. Don't much care for streaming even though the option is a nice feature to have and the time trial demos haven't used once yet. Its just the classic game selection that needs improving and if they get some PS2 games with added trophies as well I'll definitely be renewing no hesitations. PS2 classics and tricky PS3 classics on Premium would be huge. Still in the fomo phase of the Premium sub atm but that could change next year if there's not much improvement to the classics selection?

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name?

Beerheadgamer82

Burnout is a genuine issue that I didn't think I'd suffer with till FC6 and now Yakuza Like a Dragon and more recently Ishin. FC4 being my first time, FC3, FCPrimal, FC5, FC3 again remastered and then FC6 happened, just got proper bored with it all after FC6. Yakuza is different in the sense of I'm definitely playing again as it's one of my all time fav series but just need a long break from it all, makes sense considering I was there beating up Yakuza thugs on PS2 around 17 years ago, much needed. Backlog says hi how you doin

Re: GTA 6 Reveal Trailer Debuts in Early December, Rockstar Says

Beerheadgamer82

Honestly all I want from GTA is a well polished tense gripping single player campaign, that doesn't last only 5 or 6 hours. A quality main for 25+ hours and a further 10 to 15+ on interesting side things during or after main is finished, like expanding rampage side missions into more engaging side missions rather than just shooting waves of enemies as an example. Its obviously become a massive multiplayersausagefest for a decade now which is something that doesn't interest me all that much. I'll try its mp at least but only if the campaign is good and well worth it to begin with

Re: PlayStation Users to Be Considered 'Part of the Xbox Community', Says Xbox Boss

Beerheadgamer82

@TommyNL oh absolutely Sony ain't exactly short of cash either. It's a possibility Sony could have been able to afford someone like Bethesda at 7.5 billion but even then its far easier for the bank size of Microsoft to 7.5 billion any deal than it is for Sony to do the same. Should go without saying a 69 billion ActiBlizz acquisition is literally impossible for Sony. Then there's the day one GamePass prices Xbox are easily allowed to afford multiple times a month throughout a year, just doesn't make sense for PlayStation. Just look at the fairly recent 3rd party day ones on GP like Grid Legends and Plague Tale Requiem as an example, that's very expensive for Sony to keep doing that. PlayStation simply can't afford to do what GamePass does. It's just not feasible for Sony to splash out many a 100, 200, 300 millions or more per big 3rd party day one games on their subscriptions in the long run

Re: Insomniac Confirms Primary Marvel's Spider-Man Moving Forward

Beerheadgamer82

I think Miles will be advertised as the lead for SM3 being in over 95% of all the trailers. Peter hardly making a proper appearance in red till Miles genuinely needs Peters help about halfway through SM3 giving Peter one hell of an entrance saving Miles and we all go nuts. It's like building up the gamer hype tension as we play. When and how Pete returns to save Miles and we all go nuts mentality when he does, I mean its obvious Pete will be in SM3. All about building up the tension to make it far more impactful

Insomniacs Miles is so damn cool, equally like them both

Edit. All guess work of course

Be greater together

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for November 2023?

Beerheadgamer82

Nothing for me this month, have Mafia 2 already. Some months are crap or already own the games on the good months. On my PS5 currently I've got Callisto Protocol, Sniper Elite 5, Grid Legends getting double PS4 plat now, Tacoma, and Gotham Knights all thanks to PS Plus Essential or Extra and theres still so many more i could install so for me it's not bad at all just because November's Essential ain't all that great. Extra in November could be really good yet?

Re: The Last of Us Season 2 Filming Will Start Early Next Year

Beerheadgamer82

@Max_the_German I'd be all over that tbh. Getting the part 2 plat all over again on PS5 yes please. Hopefully put the PS4 disc of part 2 into the PS5 for the £5 or £10 upgrade like it was with Uncharted Legacy of Thieves collection. Unless they're including this put on hold factions2 multiplayer and rumoured part 2 expanded story with it. Many PS4 1st party PC releases usually also get a PS5 remaster of sorts?

Re: The Last of Us Season 2 Filming Will Start Early Next Year

Beerheadgamer82

Thoroughly enjoyed the first season on physical 4K. It was pretty close to the game but also felt different at the same time with certain expanded scenes and minor differences that made perfect sense for a TV show. Its cgi was better than some big budget movies. Would have been a 10 out of 10 in my head if it wasn't for the lack of action with the infected, not much gun battles and not a single brick or glass bottle was used that I can remember. Everything else was really top tier good so I'll give it 8 maybe a 9 for the first season.

A bit more gun/fist combat action with the evil humans and the infected will go along way for Season 2. Hoping they don't use a golf club this time or any other sports weapon to stop the golf memes all the time, so boring expecting to read comments but end up reading 90% of the comments full of golf memes yawn💤

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Movie Making Progress as Director Heaps Praise on the Game

Beerheadgamer82

@Triumph741 it's not a clone though is it. Its roughly based in the Mongol Invasion of Japan from 1274 which is something AC series hasn't been anywhere near before. Every open world game that has a map with stealth involved doesn't mean its an AC clone. What was SuckerPunch meant to do for it to not be considered a clone, make Jin Sakai use handguns with silencers or shotguns or use night vision goggles for stealth in 1274 just to make it not be a clone makes no sense whatsoever. Not once did Jin Sakai climb a very tall building and fall from it into a bundle of hay. Ubisoft ain't the first for open world maps or the first to use stealth in any game and they certainly aint the best top tier pinnacle at it either

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Movie Making Progress as Director Heaps Praise on the Game

Beerheadgamer82

@Triumph741 All AC games never interested me new or old, over the years, can only really speak for GoT. Do remember trying AC1 or 2 back in the PS3 early days and got bored super quick. You speak of copy but isn't AC the one copying GoT with the Japanese setting. Yh I do think GoT is better than all AC games combined just my opinion. So many gamers don't bother with any AC games and still have great gaming tastes. Soon rather replay Shadow of Mordor or GoT again than play any AC game, nothing wrong with that
