@KundaliniRising333 icon chasing, I don't think Insomniac will remove all the icons on the map just to please one or a dozen gamers complaining. I like to know where to go when slowly revealing parts of any open world map over time, instead of endlessly looking for things that simply ain't there, which would irritate waste of time and just end up using a youtube location guide vid anyway, which then would make removing icons a useless idea to begin with unless you are willing to put 200+ hours into waisting time in a Spidey game but it looks like you've only put barely couple hours into it (assuming) from the looks of it. I'd be surprised if Spidey 2 has backpacks to collect as they were just an optional very light back story to Peters life which brings a little personality to the character we're playing as. Follow up Spidey game Miles Morales didn't have any backpacks and I highly doubt Spidey2 will. Fair enough its not your cup of tea but I am very curious though what the alternative to a non open world Spidey game is which also has no icons on its map either, right now I simply I don't see any other alternative at all tbh. Maybe an Elden Ring world where there's hardly any super tall buildings sort of like a Lord of The Rings type world (far less dense than a Spiderman game) could be perfect for no icons but it would have to be built from the start with the intention in mind of exploration for the no icons to work in any open world map but many games that have huge open world maps simply need quite a lot of icons for it to be properly playable?. Spidey is all about (mostly) fast flowing gameplay, simply adding huge exploration to reveal every icon yourself sort of defeats the purpose of Spiderman?
Bring on all those collectables, base camps, enemies on top of buildings, underground sewer missions and all the other side content and side missions, I can wait to tackle them all. If many Ubisoft games were as fun and high quality as Insomniacs Spidey games theres no way Ubisoft would have most of the bad rep it currently has. Its like you can't make a good open world game anymore these days without being compared to some of Ubisofts boring offerings. Ubi didnt create open worlds and they're cerfainly not the pinnacle just because they do a lot of it. For many its more about the Spiderman main story missions which put many Ubisoft main story missions to shame. If you want a Spiderman game to be tight linear non open world, that's like wanting a Gran Turismo game with no cars. Spiderman needs to be open world swinging from building to building, you simply can't swing from building to building in a tight linear Spidey game, makes no sense whatsoever
To me its hardly surprising at all. While most of this year has been a little quite on their bigger triple A 1st party side, I do think the PS5 console is a very intriguing looking thing, a little awkward looking yes but a very interesting thing nonetheless and it genuinly grows on you, for me it did anyways. I held a PS5 DualSense in my hand for the very first time in early 2021 as a store were testing a PS5, a few months before getting my own and I remember instantly falling in love with the DualSense there and then making me even more excited to get my hands on my own PS5. There's the PS Plus subscription improvements last year with the Extra sub offering so many high quality games instantly when you sub. So many gamers will be wanting to play Spidey2, GoT2, Wolverine or hoping for TLoU part 3 and of course the many great 3rd party games
Wonder why only one game has leaked this time. All previous leaks have been all 3 leaked a couple days before not just the one game. Don't really care for leaks but it is a little odd the other two are missing this time from the leaks
Yay can get that one single multiplayer trophy needed for the platinum now. Can be super irritating when having to rely on a random online for a specific trophy
@JB_Whiting in the gamespot article that's linked here, it briefly goes over the coop when in single player campaign saying something like the bot partners feel more useful rather than useless, like they'll help you up when you get floored which I think means reviving you when almost dying. Still very much looking forward to it as I also adored the first one on PS3. Sometimes just get a little concerned when coop is added to single player campaigns. Just hope it doesn't release in a super busy month full of many other must plays
Hoping campaign coop doesn't detract anything away from playing the campaign in single player. Also trophies are sometimes affected by multiplayer, having to rely on others for trophies hugely irritates me. Not saying adding coop is a bad thing, just hoping it doesn't effect single player in anyway. Used to annoy me playing Dead Island 1 in single player and then watching the cutscenes thinking to myself where the f*** did you magically appear from, you wasn't there at all while I was playing the game these last couple hours wtf
Being a single man I have zero use for this (maybe for getting some trophies while on the toilet) but I can see this being very useful in a larger family when everyone is arguing over the living room tv
@LifeGirl still own the game sitting on my shelf. Haven't properly played Twin Snakes since completing it once around release. The MGS1 PS1 original on the other hand is possibly my 3rd most times finishing a game at well over a dozen times. Most likely done more 90s RE1, RE2 and RE3 playthroughs given how shorter they are to finish, each having more than a dozen playthroughs
@Luna-Harmony MGS1 remake (The Twin Snakes) while not terrible was hated by quite a many few fans. It's a weird one to explain, there's just something really weird about it when playing. GamingBolt youtube channel just done a video about this very game a week ago about why is Twin Snakes hated
Oh thank god. Was getting this collection anyways regardless. What are you gonna do about it when I pick up my preorder on release day and then pop it into my PS5, nothing because there's nothing you can do about it. When you adore something so bloody much you simply dont care
@XboxTheBestBox how's that in anyway relevant to PS gamers though. Unless I'm colorblind this site is blue and has square in its name relating to the fact you press a square button on the PS controller, theres no button with square on the Xbox controller (obviously). Not really something to be proud of staying in my lane but sometimes when I read some comments I feel like patting myself on the back for doing just that
So uk time is Tuesday night 7pm. Annoys me a little that the 24 hour clock is rarely ever used when giving times. As soon as I see 19:00 I instantly know its evening night time when it starts. Just personally nitpicking a little
One of my all time fav game series getting a collection which has been dead for 8 years since Hideo Kojima left Konami with no chance at all of MGS6 ever happening. Still very much gutted about it all tbh. Yh still own all these games physically except for the early non PlayStation versions but having them all available again on modern consoles makes me very happy. I'll take anything we get considering I thought Konami and MGS were forever dead in the gaming world. MGS collections yes please, Snake Eater remake yes please and Silent Hill 2 remake yes please
A bit of Sniper Elite 5 from Extra and slowly chipping away at the Grid Legends plat from Essential. Taken me about 10 hours to get the first two main mission maps done in SE5 because following a guide for all collectables, and just messing around on its maps looking for inventive ways to kill as many as possible undetected
This is the least surprising news ever. All we need now is one massively improved Showcase and some smaller SoPs next year for what's to come. There has been rumour talk of another PS showcase a little later this year but I highly doubt that but wouldn't be surprised either
@NinjaNicky if you wait about a year it should be around 20 or 15 or less in CeX. If wait 18 months to 2 years should be around a tenna. Be easy to wait for a huge price drop especially for those that have already finished the game a decade ago. Waiting that long all depends on how much you really like the game I suppose. Personally I don't mind waiting a long time for a chunky price drop given how I've finished with it on PS3 plus it's dlc already done with, plus the never ending backlog these days
Have a weird but obviously uncertain feeling that Xbox backwards compatibilty is partly to blame for it being 4K 30fps on PS as well, for some sort of parity. Could be completely wrong too of course. Could of potentially ended up with a SeriesX and PS5 remaster at 60fps instead, if it wasn't already availible on Xbox backwards compatibilty 360 to Xbox ONE. $50 and £40 that's got nothing to do with Xbox or PS though
Maybe because the Xbox version is 4k30 the PS version has to be 4k30 hence why it's on the PS4 version and not a proper PS5 remastered version at 60fps, for more better parity with Xbox. Not putting the blame on Xbox of course but the Xbox backwards compatibilty is a genuine possibility as to why RDR1 is not a latest gen version with 60fps. Hypothetically speaking if there were no backwards compatibilty for RDR1 on Xbox at all then this RDR1 could have potentially been a proper latest gen remaster at 60fps for both SeriesX and PS5?
I suppose someone has to by it new physically then trade it in, so I can then buy it used later down the line. Remember buying a used copy physically ain't supporting this tosh port
@Smiffy01 ha that recently happened to me with the Syphon Filter games on PS Plus Premium, not so much its graphics from the time but it's controls. I mean Syphon Filter controls wasn't great when originally released but oh man those controls today are even worse than I remember
@Smiffy01 many of these PS1 classics are physically still sitting on my shelf, for the most part collecting dust and will in the future all be boxed up in plastic boxes, including many PS2 titles as well. The thing is I can always play many of these PS1 titles anytime I want on the original PS1 or even on PS3 but I rarely ever do these days because I've had my enjoyment fill with them many years ago and also my more modern consoles having huge never ending backlogs keeping me away from the classics even more. Having trophy support added to these classics can sometimes make me want to play some classics all over again, like the trophies themselves becoming an added incentive and maybe a new added challenge. Obviously it's not the same for everyone but to me It does feel super weird these days playing a game on a modern console (regardless of how old the game is) that has no trophies at all. There has now been trophies available on PS consoles longer than when they never existed
Can you imagine a full PS5 current gen reboot for this. 4K, 60fps, HDR and possible RT, would look amazing. Maybe add some mild character story mode for each vehicle as well inbetween the many races. Online multiplayer mode racing too why not
I never owned a 3Dtv for 3D PS3 games but I certainly would have liked to try it at the time. If PS Stars is a way for me to potentially play more games or different games that I possibly wouldn't have done otherwise then it's all good
Sony should continue doing things Microsoft doesn't. Upping new content for PSVR2, supported better than PSVR1 where possible, if possible. Continue developing new controllers for maybe a slight DualSense refresh and for the future PS6 DualSense of course. DualSense Edge 2 with far better battery life amongst other little improvements. The project Q meh not for me but with all the comments from fans hungry desperately wanting another PSP handheld, the demand is very much there for one again. The original PSP was a huge success for a first attempt at a handheld at 80mil so they can be very succesful at it. And many people say PS don't take risks on new things and only ever copies others, funny that is
This is good news. Now I can use it properly soon. Think it doesn't count physical games, only digital and Plus games. So if there's a Stars for Spidey2 but you have Spidey2 physically then it won't count. I dunno hope im wrong, either way it's good it's finally coming to our PS5s soon
@RobN no but only because I don't know how to share links via a mobile phone to these comments section, never needed PC or a laptop. A quick Google search never hurt anyone when looking for what you are looking for, it's all there ready for you to read
I'll ask you the same. Do you have source about why Xbox backwards compatibilty is not expensive. If it's cheap in the long run I'd certainly love to read about it and be proven wrong
@Martsmall completely missing my point to my comment by ignoring the costs it takes to develop Xbox backwards compatibilty, hence why even Microsoft themselves don't do it anymore. When there's a 3rd party day one game on GamePass you don't care how much it costs for it to be day one on your GamePass while your gaming and why would you, hence why PS Plus Extra hardly has much day ones because of how expensive a 3rd party day one costs to be on a subscription. You know if I really enjoy a console over the years I'd definitely love to know about it even more with a little research. Yh Sony ain't exactly what you would call a small company but in comparison to Microsoft then yh they are smaller. Although being smaller doesn't necessarily always mean being in 3rd place all the time
@Martsmall a lot of people seem to forget that PS2 had PS1 bc and even the early fat PS3 had both PS1 and PS2 bc but eventually ended up removing PS2 bc from newer PS3 versions for whatever reason leaving only PS1 on PS3. It's when the PS4 released is where Sony had real issues with bc because of how difficult and complicated they made the PS3 sort of shooting themselves in foot. Xbox backwards compatibilty costs huge amounts of money, meaning it would be far easier for Microsoft to achieve what they've done on their end than it would if Sony done the same on their end with huge differences in bank accounts, but when gaming on the Xbox you don't think of how much it costs to develop Xbox bc and why would you
@Cashews always prefered something like Resistance or Space Marine where you can just let loose and fill so many weird creatures full of so many bullets with so many fascinating and different set pieces that makes me wonder as I'm playing. Modern warfare is of course modern and I'm just never fascinated by it at all in a video game. I enjoyed Battlefield 1 (2016) way more than any Modern Warfare because it felt like a super fun fascinating history lesson in a weird sort of way. CoDWW2 (2017) definitely interests me but seems to have reviewed not so well, which has sort of put me off it. Reminds me I need to get back on Boltgun soon, even though its trophies are crap
Given it another thought. It's a win for physical on PS4 and Switch if that's your thing and a win for those that enjoy trophies on PlayStation and might be a less frustraiting platinum overall too with no mp trophies required and thats about it. But yh I ain't spending £40 on release for a lazy cashgrab port, still be waiting for huge sales in late 2024
Hypothetically even if you payed me there's still a good chance I'd say no, depending on how much was being offered of course. I remember I tried a CoD for the very first time via PS Plus a few years ago and all I can remember thinking when playing was meh what's all this fuzz about. Its all so very average if you ask me
Rockstars logic the Nintendo Switch has a 130 mil and the PS4 has 118 mil so let's target those instead and completely ignore latest gen. Lazy money ports
Damn that sucks. No proper PS5, no 60fps?, no remaster and no mp wow. Possibly be £40 or £45 in uk but still no thanks im good. No doubt in 18 months or 2 years it'll be less than £15 in CeX, PS store sale, Amazon deals or even PS Plus Essential/Extra. I've no need to jump all over this and certainly not on release date, no matter how much I enjoyed it originally
@AndyKazama not really gonna play the game ha. I was just joking but thanks either way. Checked out some gameplay earlier. It does seem more like an actual video game sort of a puzzler type rather than tickling mayo jars or touching burritos on a kitchen table
@Cashews meant it as irony. Always thought of ironic and irony were same, get them mixed up. Still made me giggle a little when thought about FF16 not being capable on Switch.
Or maybe Square Enix only want their latest and greatest game to be running on the latest piece of console tech which is obvioisly something Nintendo don't simply offer at the moment and haven't done for quite a while
@Cashews you do realise that one country (Japan) is not the whole picture of success for any game sold or any console sold, its a slice of the bigger picture. Yh sure the Switch is 2nd to none in overall sales worldwide when its been availible on the market far longer than PS5 or Series and even the Switch today in 2023 is still doing incredible numbers. Its worth pointing out PS5 is dominating in America and the whole of Europe with Japan being the only one where the Switch has outsold the PS5 currently or did this escape your narrative somehow or simply didn't know?
@Nem yh there's quite a lot that didn't care for RE7 in first person but for the many that didn't mind the new first person, they was just happy for an RE game returning to its roots again. It was actually scary again but for some it was just to much after being so used to the watered down very mild horror in 4, 5 and 6. Some gamers first RE experience was 4 onwards so you'll sometimes get a few thinking RE isn't scary at all. 7 was great for those who liked horror and was good for PSVR1

Although being smaller doesn't necessarily always mean being in 3rd place all the time
Re: Red Dead Redemption Out on PS4 This Month, Not a Remaster
@Martsmall a lot of people seem to forget that PS2 had PS1 bc and even the early fat PS3 had both PS1 and PS2 bc but eventually ended up removing PS2 bc from newer PS3 versions for whatever reason leaving only PS1 on PS3. It's when the PS4 released is where Sony had real issues with bc because of how difficult and complicated they made the PS3 sort of shooting themselves in foot. Xbox backwards compatibilty costs huge amounts of money, meaning it would be far easier for Microsoft to achieve what they've done on their end than it would if Sony done the same on their end with huge differences in bank accounts, but when gaming on the Xbox you don't think of how much it costs to develop Xbox bc and why would you
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Officially Announced, Launches This November
Re: Red Dead Redemption Out on PS4 This Month, Not a Remaster
Given it another thought. It's a win for physical on PS4 and Switch if that's your thing and a win for those that enjoy trophies on PlayStation and might be a less frustraiting platinum overall too with no mp trophies required and thats about it. But yh I ain't spending £40 on release for a lazy cashgrab port, still be waiting for huge sales in late 2024
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Officially Announced, Launches This November
@Cashews each to their own I guess. It wasn't a terrible experience by any means
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Officially Announced, Launches This November
Hypothetically even if you payed me there's still a good chance I'd say no, depending on how much was being offered of course. I remember I tried a CoD for the very first time via PS Plus a few years ago and all I can remember thinking when playing was meh what's all this fuzz about. Its all so very average if you ask me
Re: Red Dead Redemption Out on PS4 This Month, Not a Remaster
Rockstars logic the Nintendo Switch has a 130 mil and the PS4 has 118 mil so let's target those instead and completely ignore latest gen. Lazy money ports
Re: Red Dead Redemption Out on PS4 This Month, Not a Remaster
@Dark_Knight does the XBOX ONE version have a fresh set of achievements for it as well. Just curious
Re: Red Dead Redemption Out on PS4 This Month, Not a Remaster
Damn that sucks. No proper PS5, no 60fps?, no remaster and no mp wow. Possibly be £40 or £45 in uk but still no thanks im good. No doubt in 18 months or 2 years it'll be less than £15 in CeX, PS store sale, Amazon deals or even PS Plus Essential/Extra. I've no need to jump all over this and certainly not on release date, no matter how much I enjoyed it originally
Re: PS5, PS4's New Free Game Mixes Qix with Anime Ladies
@AndyKazama not really gonna play the game ha. I was just joking but thanks either way. Checked out some gameplay earlier. It does seem more like an actual video game sort of a puzzler type rather than tickling mayo jars or touching burritos on a kitchen table
Re: PS5, PS4's New Free Game Mixes Qix with Anime Ladies
Are all the trophies just bronzes. Asking for a friend😆
Re: PS5 Quietly Crosses 4 Million Units Milestone in Japan
@Cashews meant it as irony. Always thought of ironic and irony were same, get them mixed up. Still made me giggle a little when thought about FF16 not being capable on Switch.
Or maybe Square Enix only want their latest and greatest game to be running on the latest piece of console tech which is obvioisly something Nintendo don't simply offer at the moment and haven't done for quite a while
Re: PS5 Quietly Crosses 4 Million Units Milestone in Japan
Kinda funny the Switch isn't even powerful enough to run FF16. Not dunking on the Switch just stating an obvious fact. Is this ironic
Re: PS5 Quietly Crosses 4 Million Units Milestone in Japan
@Cashews you do realise that one country (Japan) is not the whole picture of success for any game sold or any console sold, its a slice of the bigger picture. Yh sure the Switch is 2nd to none in overall sales worldwide when its been availible on the market far longer than PS5 or Series and even the Switch today in 2023 is still doing incredible numbers. Its worth pointing out PS5 is dominating in America and the whole of Europe with Japan being the only one where the Switch has outsold the PS5 currently or did this escape your narrative somehow or simply didn't know?
Re: Resident Evil 2 PS5, PS4 Remake Is Now the Series' Best-Selling Game
@Nem yh there's quite a lot that didn't care for RE7 in first person but for the many that didn't mind the new first person, they was just happy for an RE game returning to its roots again. It was actually scary again but for some it was just to much after being so used to the watered down very mild horror in 4, 5 and 6. Some gamers first RE experience was 4 onwards so you'll sometimes get a few thinking RE isn't scary at all. 7 was great for those who liked horror and was good for PSVR1
