Re: Microsoft Beats US Regulator FTC in Activision Blizzard Buyout Battle

Beerheadgamer82

Xbox making huge moves the last few years which makes for an improved showcase for them this year with their billions on acquisitions spent. Meanwhile the recent overdue PS showcase was massively disappointing and can't afford anyone like Bethesda and ActiBlizzKing. Yet the latest PS console is almost back to every 2 PS consoles sold Xbox sells 1 or most likely 3 to 2 or something like that just like it was between PS4 and One and of course the Switch continues to do huge numbers almost everywhere. Xbox clearly playing the very long game right now and it might just pay off next gen to become genuine market leaders and not just for a brief moment either, I mean longtime market leaders after spending their ways to the top by leaving the crappy 3rd party scraps for everyone else. Many of the best current 3rd party games might only be available on Xbox in the future, oh you only game on PS well tough, you'll have to get an Xbox if you want the best games because we bought them all. It's a genuine possibility

Re: Microsoft Beats US Regulator FTC in Activision Blizzard Buyout Battle

Beerheadgamer82

Wonder who is next for Microsoft if or when this officially goes through. Doubt they'll be able to buy anyone as big as ActivisionBlizzKing for another 5 or 7 years from now. It's 2028 breaking news Microsoft are attempting to buy EA, Ubisoft, Sega or Konami. There will also be quite a few smaller acquisitions along the way to help fill GamePass even more. A monopoly takes time and the more they buy over time the more evident that will become. Its evident to me already that those Xbox employees emails about putting PlayStation out of business are already becoming true, just not right now but it's very clear that this is still their aim with all their acquisitions recently over the last few years. Obviously no one can predict the future but if this carries on there will be a lack of good 3rd party games on a PlayStation console in the future. It's also evident and clear to me why 3rd party games like FF7, FF16 and Rise of the Ronin have become PlayStation exclusives and don't be surprised if PS attempt to get more 3rd party exclusives to try and counterreact in some way. Another counterreact would be Sony attempting to gobble up a chunky sized 3rd party company of their own, they have been saving for their own acquisition to happen but who that will be or how big of a company Sony will be able to afford is anyone's guess

Re: Japanese Final Fantasy 16 Sales Plummet by 90% in Second Week

Beerheadgamer82

195 countries on this earth and we only see probabaly 3 of them with 1 of the 3 being physical charts only. I'd hazard a guess one thing that will remain constant worldwide is the success of the Switch sales and its games but nowhere near as dominant as it is in Japan every week. PS5 and Xbox Series consoles will be a much better match in other countries no doubt. 192 countries we don't know about, let that sink in for a while

Re: Red Dead Redemption Revival Looking More and More Likely as Evidence Mounts

Beerheadgamer82

While I agree remasters never looks to be a good thing and only ever seems like a cashgrab milking it for all its worth, I do think this paticular remaster is genuinely worth doing a lot more than many other remasters. The demand for it by gamers has been there before the release of RDR2 and for many its been over a decade since last playing the original. They could have done something similar to what The Last of Us did 2013 PS3 and then quickly remastered for PS4 the following year 2014 but they didn't. RDR1 was 13 years ago and genuinly warrants a remaster especially when the demand is so high for it, makes sense to me. What's genuinely concerning about Rockstar though is where's the new IP, it's all remasters with no brand new IP at all. GTA6 will be a brand new story and guessing new characters but ain't no new IP. I guess when you make so much money from RDR2 and GTA5 why do they need to gamble on new IP, sucks

Re: Even Microsoft Is Expecting a Revised PS5 Hardware Model This Year

Beerheadgamer82

What if the detachable disc drive PS5 is also the slim PS5 as well, even when adding the disc drive could still be much slimmer than the base model. It's genuinely a possibility and something I've heard no one talk about at all. Base disc PS5, base digital PS5, detachable PS5, PS5 slim and PS5 pro that's a lot of potential confusing different PS5s but having the detachable PS5 also be the PS5 slim makes a lot of sense to me

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Info Will Be Revealed at San Diego Comic-Con

Beerheadgamer82

If they're planning a State of Play for it close to release then I doubt to much will be teased at the San Diego Comic-Con. Do agree about seeing to much of it though, be nice to see many of the new big action scenes for the first time when actually playing it rather than being shown and teased most of it beforehand. A good idea is to not watch these teases or SoP live and wait after instead to see what people say about it to find out if they show to much or not

Re: Even with Final Fantasy 16, PS5 Can't Outsell Switch in Japan

Beerheadgamer82

@Mio_Nakashima I'm really fascinated to see how well the next new Nintendo console or hybrid does. I don't think Nintendo have had back to back successful consoles in a long time, last time I think was NES followed by the SNES, both being very succesful back to back for their time. Obviously hugely successful Nintendo handhelds inbetween and the hugely successful Wii of course

Re: Even with Final Fantasy 16, PS5 Can't Outsell Switch in Japan

Beerheadgamer82

@Mio_Nakashima yh that is a little annoying. I suppose it gives us a rough estimate to how a game is doing rather than their outright total figures. The best way to do it would be every month or 3 have total worldwide charts for both consoles sold and games purchased including boxed and digital and have a separate GamePass and PS Plus chart for their top downloaded games. Maybe to much work getting all the figures correct every month or 3, would be ideal though

Re: SEGA Uninterested in Being Acquired by Sony, Microsoft

Beerheadgamer82

Struggling to see how it's Sonys or Nintendos fault that Sega dropped out of the console business. N64 and Gamecube wasn't doing huge numbers at the time of the Dreamcast. Can't expect Sony to come out and say oh we won't be putting out our new PS2 console in 2000, 2001 and 2002 because instead we want to delay it a few years so Dreamcast can sell a ton more consoles. I've read over the years that the problem with Sega was the Saturn and the way it went about its business in 94 which may have had a knock on effect to the downfall of Sega in the very early 00s. Maybe there's something I'm missing and if there is, excuse my ignorance, what do I know im just a gamer. For the record I had a Saturn in the 90s and a Dreamcast in 2000, thoroughly enjoyed them both

Re: Even with Final Fantasy 16, PS5 Can't Outsell Switch in Japan

Beerheadgamer82

Not really surprised about any of this. I did read earlier this week that PS5 is outselling the Switch in US and not just by revenue either, which I think is a bigger market in comparison to Japan. Is there any reasons why we only get UK and Japan numbers but not US or Europe numbers, or maybe they don't share numbers like UK or Japan does?

Re: Microsoft Planned to Conquer Japan with Square Enix Buyout, Eye-Opening Documents Reveal

Beerheadgamer82

Didn't know you could go around calling people names on here, not that I'm offended by it as I've grown out of that nonsense years ago but why are some allowed to get away with it. Do you have to press the report button it if someone resorts to childish bully tactics on here, I only joined last year so I dunno. I've always tried to be respectful towards others on here no matter how much I may disagree about something

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2023 Leaked Early

Beerheadgamer82

Buzzing my manb👀bies off for Alan Wake remastered. Been on my wishlist for some time now but deliberately didn't buy it for this reason. With AW2 just around the corner I had a good feeling they'd put the first one on Plus. Same happened with Grid Legends. This year I think is the happiest I've been with Plus for a long time

Re: "We've Lost the Console Wars," Says Trillion Dollar Underdog Xbox

Beerheadgamer82

Not Sony or Nintendos fault that Xbox is always 3rd. Just goes to show being a trillion dollar company doesn't guarantee you being the market leader. Releasing high quality 1st party games consistently almost every year goes along way for being market leader and PS has done that job consistently better than Xbox, I'm sorry that's just a fact not made up nonsense. They are currently starting to turn things around on 1st party but if they didn't recently purchase Bethesda and Ninja Theory all they'd have this year would be Forza again. Amazes me how little they'd have if purchasing Bethesda wasn't possible

Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Is Out for PS5 on 24th October

Beerheadgamer82

Honestly I'm such a massive MGS fan, so Spiderman 2 will just have to make room for it. Everything else installed on my PS5 around the end of October and November are gonna be ignored. Swap them around, one night it'll be SM2 and then the following night will be MGS or play them both in same evening game sesh. Gonna feel so good getting back on the MGS train, nostalgia wins sometimes

Re: God of War Ragnarok Sales Are Increasing in the UK

Beerheadgamer82

Zelda might be top again in the physical uk charts but there's only two Nintendo games in the top 10. The rest are made up of PS and Xbox games and you'd have to guess most sales being on PS4 and PS5 given how there's more PS consoles in comparison to Xbox consoles sold, and with Xbox mostly seem to use and talk subscription GamePass more than anything else

Re: Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty DLC Looks Breathtaking on PS5

Beerheadgamer82

Since buying this game on release when only having a PS4 at the time, this PS5 version has been on my backlog for a couple years now but it looks like I'm FINALLY gonna get my moneys worth with these updates to the base game soon. I'd usually ignore games like these that release completely broken but preorder hype happened like it did to so many, won't be happening again

Re: There's Growing Concern Over Persona Dev's Metaphor: ReFantazio Being an Xbox Exclusive

Beerheadgamer82

Equal amount of blame goes to the game publishers just as much as it does Xbox or PS. Atlas and Sega said yes to Xbox deep pockets just like Konami said yes to PS for Silent Hill 2 timed console exclusivity. Theres obviously a lot more that goes into these deals that we simply won't ever know about. Although the thing with Square is a genuine weird one given how long the exclusivity deal has lasted, unless of course PS eventually buys Square then it would make more sense?

Re: Sorry Physical Fans! The New Like a Dragon May Be Digital Only on PS5, PS4

Beerheadgamer82

Chocolate bars have gotten smaller but raised in price. Video game collectors editions with physical figurines will be a thing of the past. All cars will sound like your microwave. No stores to go out on a weekend and grab your favourite piece of entertainment. Buying clothes online and then wondering why it doesn't fit them properly. Wouldn't be surprised if I'm paying £84.99 for a digital PS6 game in 2029 with physical not even an option anymore. Paying more and more for less and less appears to be the future. Sucks a**

Re: Sorry Physical Fans! The New Like a Dragon May Be Digital Only on PS5, PS4

Beerheadgamer82

Silent Hill, RE, MGS, GT, Yakuza and a few PS 1st party I have full physical collections of being my favs so this naturally sucks for me if theres no physical but at the same time it's not shocking or unexpected in anyway. It does feel random though all of a sudden with AW2 recently making headlines for it. Just feels unnatural to be randomly happening smack bang in the middle of a consoles life where randomly some will have physical and some will not. Why now all of a sudden and not at the start of the PS6 or something like that instead

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 480

Beerheadgamer82

Work on my backlog still, recent Uncharted remasters, Death Stranding DC, Witcher 3 remastered and Plague Tale Requiem. Had to delete Watch Dogs Legion last night after a borefest opening 4 hours go to the yellow marker on the map, hack a door, maybe use spiderbot or knockout a few guards and then hack a computer for some boring audiolog rinse and repeat💤, was from Extra though so practically free

Re: Here's the Stellar Lineup You Can Expect at Capcom Showcase Next Week

Beerheadgamer82

There's a decent slim chance Pragmata could be revealed tonight at SGF. You might think well why not just show it at their own Capcom showcase but the SGF showcase will have more eyes on it I think. Would be nice to know what genre of game Pragmata is more than anything else. I'd love to see Code Veronica remake get announced but even more than that I'd love to see Onimusha and Dino Crisis make comeback in some capacity being revived from their graves, unlikely I know but I'd be all over it if it happens
