Non of them truly float my boat but I've seen and heard really good things about teardown so ill be giving that ago. I'll have a look though.
I've been totally impressed by the selection of ps extra games and have found many gems, I didn't know I'd like.

But premium still just not worth my time or money. There is nothing premium about that tier.

There's actually some great games on roblox which I'm actually playing, which have quite indepth mechanics. They are very management simulation games.

There is alot of awful attempts at games but you have to remember these are all made by the community and for kids really, forget the actually money transactions, aslong as you have security so the kids can't buy, all the games are full playable till the end.

But im playing retail tycoon 2, which is make a store and grow, grid base free building, indepth stock management, you can hire managers, cashiers, janitors, security, restorers, delivery drivers, there is a depot for the goods a car dealership.

There is actually indepth systems at play aswel, customer happiness, effect sales, customer come in and dont just buy, they decide, sometimes they don't, theives come into the store, it also is linked with who else is on the server and you compete for customers. Honestly in my head I'm like why is no one making a fully fledged game like this, at a high level (graphically) think two point games level.
This game if it wasn't in the roblox graphics would sell very well and reality is im playing it for free.

Also playing an addictive game Lumber Tycoon 2.

Basic idea, cut trees down, sell them to the shop.
There is a shop for tools and sawmills, a shop to buy land, you have to find the other shop for bigger trucks to carry the wood, which is in a different area, there is a shop to buy furniture.
Different trees give different amounts of money, the physics and cutting the tree down is pretty good.

You buy land and then free build complex wood cutting facilities, with sawmills conveyor belts and other wood cutting tools.
Build a house, the mechanics at work in this game are actually rivalling alot of mainstream 70 dollar games.

Of course there are so many games where your just waiting for money to go up and click a button but there are actual games in there.

We got Horizon Zero Dawn 2017. A Brand New IP.
And then sequel to it in 2022.
From a studio who literally just made Killzone, a mid tier sales wise ip since ps2.

We had a reboot God Of War in 2018.
Then a sequel in 2022. From the studio who literally only has done arcade God of war games, of which were getting stale by the end.

Then we got Ghost Of Tsushima, a fresh an absolute epic game, literally made at the end of the PS4 life, with an upgraded version for PS5. Launched 2020. From a studio who only had really done infamous which got stale by 3

We have had
Demon Souls
Returnal
Astro
Probably more I cant think of.

And just to tie it back.

The Last Of Us Part 2 was released literally in 2020.

We are only 3 to 4 year removed from that game not 10 years.

So reality
3 brand new ips
1 total reboot gameplay wise (God Of War)
1 Stella Remaster (demon Souls)
1 upgraded remaster (last of us)

This isn't including the effort by insomniac who are top dogs in releasing games quickly

I'm not sure how someone can lose faith in Sony, when since the playstation existed, has now got the most first party top rated games ever created.

The last of us 2 is perfection graphically for the ps4 and holds up as a good ps5 game. Ill buy the upgrade.

10 years ago we would of never of been told who was leaving.

The funny thing is, we always hear about so many people leaving but you never hear how many they employed.

It can't be aimed at anybody if the console is literally replacing the existing console.

The only reason they have done this is to phase out the 2 Fat PS5 SKUs to a single SKU. Streamline production and cut costs.

They haven't really advertised it, it came in a blog post and they are literally calling it PS5.

Yes its aimed at new PS5 owners because this model will be the only model you can buy.

It was never intended to entice new owners, its literally the PS5 now going forward.

PS5 Pro will be the one aimed at original PS5 owners and will be pushed big time

@elchorno come on its a cut in half dualsense glued to a 1080p screen, with a WiFi chip and some streaming software in it.

This model is the PS5 moving forward.

So if your ps5 needs replacing in the future, this is what you'll be buying, unless you buy a used original model.

I'm in agreement with most here. This thing is way over priced for just a streaming device.

Dualsense controller a 8in 1080p lcd screen, with a streaming chip inside.

You could buy a dual sense, a cheap 8in tablet and have it for 140.

If the screen was OLED and 1440p I'd understand but its lcd 1080p
I mean surely being in house they would have low costs.

Saying that and this is to the comments what say cant believe its just a dualsense with a screen stuck in the middle.
Isn't this exactly what people have been wanting since handhelds began. A portal device with the same controller as a home console. I really don't see it being a bad thing at all, I think that design is one of its pros.

Ill get one on sale but my stance is the same, way to over priced.

I think I have the same opinion as the rest of you, this CEO has 0 knowledge of how the games industry works and thinks its all a cash grab.

Even when numbers are staring him in the face with the fantastic release of Hogwarts Legacy.

Does he not understand, all us gamers want is a triple A top quality single player game of our favourite franchises.

Insomniac showed us how a Triple A Spiderman game should be made.

Avalanche showed us how a Triple A Harry Potter Universe game should be.

Teyon has shown us even Robocop can be a force to be reckoned with.. in the best way possible a double A game literally suits how Robocop was made.

And to top it off

WBs very own Rocksteady, showed them and us a Batman game can be a Triple A Masterpiece, not only 1 but 3 games and even with its side kick Batman Origins from WB games themselves.

What did WB do it looks like demand these studios make live service games about characters no one ever wanted to truly play as and even if they worked their magic and make us realise we did, they made them strange co op live service games.

I'm still baffled by what has happened.

Batman Origins was a great first go in my eyes, what a waste of a developer with Gotham Knights.

RockSteady...... before the announcement the theories were wild, they actually couldn't put a step wrong, in Rockstesdy we blindly trusted because of those 3 great single player games.
Roll on to now. The main creators have left because they knew and what we was left with was a gebric free to play game with a batman universe skin over the top. Rest In Peace Rocksteady, gone to soon.

The problem i have is every single first party game is the best ever. Call me a fanboy or whatever.

They are all so polished and have amazing stories. Each one I can find greatness in it.

Ragnarok was amazing but I agree with some the Atreus sections were a little boring and I'd even put it in with the MJ missions from spiderman. (Really hope they don't go down the road of a Atreus only game).

A little to much filler aswel and they really needed to just get rid of the whole armour system,. Just give me the god of war. But overall an amazing game.
I'd like this level of production with the arcadiness of the first 3.

Maybe its just me but I'm still waiting for that defining game to say this really is a PS5 game.
Apart from Astro, that free game is absolutely amazing, cannot wait to see what they have been working on.

I just dont see the amazing graphics what some people are seeing and what push Square have said.
When we have had the resident evil series brought back to life in what seems a total from the ground up remakes of the classics.
Dead Space being made from the ground up, even going as far as redesigning realistic sounds.
Demon Souls an absolute master of a remake visually but with the unique controls what made demon souls.

This just looks like they've taken mgs 3 and literally put a 4K filter over the top. Yes the environment looks good but those character models, are straight out of mgs3 with a 4k sheen over them.

The problem with all this is the marketing.

This is now the standard PS5. It may be slimmer it may even have the option to put a blu ray drive in it but fundamentally it is just the PS5

Its 1 SKU which will streamline production.

So yes the disc drive is the same one in the fat PS5 it's just now detachable or attachable depending on what you fancy

Hmmm surely this is just to add the firmware and update to the device. It has to chase updated drivers as its software based the connection.

Its the same for adding a ssd. You have to have the firmware and format.

Have to remember blu ray drives do have the ability to offer up to date trailers and features through blu ray discs. Standalonw blu ray players have to be updated also.

If the reviews are good I may buy out of respect for a decent effort at a robo cop game. I mean if this is what a developer can do with probably a small budget, then give them more money to invest and let's see their potential.

Playstation never said it was making a slim version.

So why would they push it because if you ain't bought one yet and will be doing then this is what you'll be buying regardless.

Its not the PS5 Pro which will be hyped because it will sell alongside the PS5.

How would one continue a story without a cut scene in a game so story driven. It really isn't the game for that.

I understand insomniac have played it safe for its sequel but and its a big but... what exactly do you expect from a game about spiderman??

They nailed swinging around in the first game and seemed to of improved upon it and story wise, its still a comic book story.

What would you of done to change this?
Its not a gripe at you personally nor a attack. Im generally interested in what would change your mind for it to push it beyond and how much can you refresh a game about spiderman?

I do feel like this is always the same way people treat Game sequels, if its not a huge dramatic fresh take then its sort of graded down. Not suggesting that is the case here as I respect and value all of push Square articles.

But a game about spiderman. What I expect is Spiderman just a new story.

I dont buy a new comic in the same series and be like o its more of the same nothing crazy.

I expect spiderman to act the same in a different situation and different characters.

So for insomniac absolutely nailing how spiderman feels and plays in the first game. Then in 2 they have twek it to be better.

So I expect spiderman 2 to be that but a different story.

Same with films in a franchise.

John Wick example, 4 films and all are basically the same. Yet I found them amazing.

Did you forget and this could of swayed you on the familiarity of being spiderman.

Like many reviews say its just more spiderman but a 0 to 10 slider for swinging could be the game changer.

You are correct, that a trailer is there to entice people to buy the game but just like movie trailers sometimes they go a bit to far and reveal things what spoil the movie/game.

Hence the reason for this article.
The article is here to warn people that a trailer has come out and it reveals things about the game which before hand was not known and they are pre warning us.

When a game has gone this long with only revealing bare minimum of the game and then the final trailer reveals something else. Then thats technically a spoiler and this article is regarding that aspect of the trailer.

Another reason the article did not mention it. Nor did any of the other comments, because there is a unspoken rule that we shouldn't spoil anything within the comments.

So just for future if an article does not mention what is in a trailer and warns people, then its best not to blurt it out in the comments section.

If not mention in article dont do it
If not mentioned already in comments do not mention it. Especially if the game isn't out and we are so close to release.

If you cant help yourself then at least put in capital letters at the beginning of your post spoiler or hide the content of the spoiler.

"Viewer" being the key word. Which means watching something. I.e. the trailer.

The article mentions nothing spoiler related. The comments section up until yours had 0 mention of whats in the trailer.

Many stating they aren't watching or some, saying they did and they can't believe what is shown.

Until your comment which literally spoils a character who is in the game.

Which you did not hide or give notice of giving away a spoiler. You have literally ruined it for many people who just wanted to discuss the trailer without spoiling it for people. Or people to vent on why they would release a trailer with spoilers so close to the end goal.

Its just called being respectful of everyone else. You can discuss things without spoiling it, like many other comments.

It really isn't obvious at all. The only characters we knew was venom and kraven. Which have been plastered on the trailers since the begining.

My theory on this is your average consumer.
If I was the average consumer and had to put my kid on the Internet and pay for ps plus and when that comes up and your given 3 options, my guess is most will just go for the premium.
Plus those figures are probably wrong due to the many people who stacked up before the switch, which many opted for the ps now plan as this would of got you premium for alot cheaper price at the time

I'm still scratching my head to why premium is called premium or its even existence.

Access to demo which should be free in the first place.

Literally a single handful of classics if that, the rest keep getting missed and odd ball games no one would call classics are being given and we get just 3 games, its not even as though we started with a huge catalog worth of games to entice anyone and then getting treated like a ps plus free games a month ratio.

To top it off slapping a huge £20 difference for it.

Who actually makes these trailers because this is awful marketing.

What they should of done is reveal the new slim version without the drive. In all its glory.

With the slogan 1 console to rule them all.

For it then to fall to the horizontal stance, the faceplate to slide off and then the disc drive slide or snap on.

This would signify it being literally 1 SKU, with the ability to buy the drive separately.

Then at the end show both consoles and the drive.
Maybe saying bundles available with the drive attached.

Right now that trailer literally says or does anything apart from show a new looking playststion design. It doesn't even mention the detachable drive. Such a poor trailer.

@anon_pel222 actually big ant really revolutionised cricket games, their first try was something to behold and its actually a really good cricket game, if you are into cricket.

The problem is they've been st it for a long while now and as the review says the controls are pretty solid but visually they haven't really done much and thats exactly where these games are lacking.

It seems to be a huge push for licenses but graphically they are stuck 8n early ps4 era.

Such a shame, because big ant really engaged with their fans at the beginning of taking on a cricket game.
Its a shame the series hasn't truly progressed.

As much as I loved factions and as much fun uncharted multiplayer was. It was just that a fun time.

They should of never had the main teams and everyone working on a live service game. They should of just moved on and do what they are good at. Making single player games and just leave the last of us and uncharted behind for awhile.

This is a badly managed investor group who thought they could make quick money buy buying every single developer they could with 0 insight into the games industry.

There are 4 or 5 different currencies.
The menus run at 4fps and can be unresponsive.
Refs have been highlighted but Joe shows a clip from a nfl game years ago with the same animations.

They claim with the new slogans that the skeletons have been revamped and collision and then Joe shows a clip of the animations clipping and deforming constantly, same exact animation every time someone gets injured.

The list goes on and on.

Its funny how you say that its alot of money. But in protector pricing that is budget price.
For the top end projectors your looking at 3 to 6 grand or more.

I might have a look into it, but if thus packs all those feature for that price it might be worth waiting a year and getting a better make.

I'm literally converting a loft into a cinema room, but on a budget, it'll take more than a year.

But on a price matching answer this is cheap compared to sonys own 4k which retails at 5999

Where is Alan Wake 2, thats a huge draw, why a write up on ea for it comes out every year and nothing has changed apart from the name, they said fifa was holding them back and yet seen nothing new.

But seriously I didn't even see Alan wake 2 in the list of up coming games. I know it got delayed by 12 days has it been pushed out of 2023

We can all cry about another studio lost but this studio isn't the same studio who created saints Row 1 and 2 or even red factions, most have probably gone and if you make 1 bad game maybe but they have made 3 in a row, maybe there is some talent there but the studio as a whole were garbage and it shows that they was with all the insults and stuff thrown when the game came out.

The studio had to go, they just wasn't a good team together.

We can all cry about but each and everyone us knows full well if we don't preform at our jobs we would be sacked and unfortunately the game was bad in every department.

@Sequel its 8.33 a month for extra. Not really doubling and extra is where its at.

Who ever is buying premium, that's never been worth it.

I dont really see how or why putting it up 20 for a subscription which lacks any form of consistency or quality.

Premium has never been worth it. Your best paying premium when your time is nearly up and upgrade for a small amount and smash the certain games you want to play.

Every streaming service has gone up. For top quality netflix is now 15.99 for 4k.
Thats alot to pay out and thats a month.

I really want to get a psvr but I really do feel that every game being made for the thing is first person shooters. I understand they translate well to a vr experience but im more into stepping into a great adventure as someone else, not just guns blazing.

I'm still miffed/frustrated, that we only got 1 Batman VR.

That was the only game, I actually truly felt I was someone else in another world.
What a fantastic game that was, not fast paced, a great sense of being in another world. I truly wanted more games like that, but what we truly got was fast paced motion sickness first person shooters. Im just not interested.

Unless anyone can suggest me games similar to batman then maybe I'd be swayed to buy a psvr 2 if it goes on sale.

No you don't need to of played the other games.
It just adds some back story to it if you have.

All of remedies games are based in the same universe and have cross over story lines in them but I wouldn't say it stopped me playing.

I've never played Alan Wake, it just passed me by. I tried playing the remaster but for me it just doesn't hold up.

But I did play control.before that and there was parts with Alan in that but I got the just of it.
