I can literally do that on my phone.
I can get my duel sense, I can get my phone, which has a hugely better screen. I can sit on my bed. I can stream my ps5 to my phone and play games with my duel sense????
All without paying 200 for that opportunity.

Or i could buy a cheap 8in tablet, probably better screen or on par, link it and play.
Cheap tablet 60 on amazon with andriod on it probably with memory and can use apps directly from the device.

So from the actual company who actually makes the duelsense, and can get screens at a very cheap price. Have 0 memory inside the device as they have stated and is just a streaming device.

Just incase this doesn't get you thinking, A Nintendo switch console new is only 255 from amazon. So a total system which can be played on the go native and on a tv is only 50 more than this 1080p streaming device.

Common sense just shows they are completely ripping us off for this.

When a nobody company can sell a entire tablet for 60 (im not saying its an amazing tablet, just talking screens), but playstation are selling you just a streaming device for 200.

Phil Spencer though talks alot of rubbish half the time.
His speech on why half gen updates aren't good, is utter rubbish, he has literally done that to his own brand by releasing an under powered next gen console, along side a beefier next gen console.

At least both ps5 SKUs are the same except without a disc drive.
So playstation will have a console which matches the series X and then if they do release a pro version, the lowest dominator will still be on par with series X before the release of the next 2 main line consoles come out.

I wouldn't say series S is a bad thing but the whole parity guidelines is definitely holding series X back and its probably why we are seeing some games being put on last gen consoles aswel, because third party developers have to make a game work for the series S, so they are half way there anyway

@Flaming_Kaiser your literally adding to the list of great remakes or reboots whatever you want to call some of them, which cost around the same or less than this.

So we have a split dualsense controller with a cheap 1080p old tech lcd screen, 0 storage, a low battery life, you can only stream games, no blue tooth, and it only streams games but not ps plus premium games.
All that for 200?

What exactly am I paying for?
A duel sense controller costs 65
A 8inch monitor costs 65
So all in all costs 130
And they are trying to sell me it at 200.

It's just outrageous pricing.

If this thing was 100 a controller with a screen to stream my games then maybe, but 200 its just not worth it, for playing it in my bed.

@Rafie I disagree. Why have a full fledged handheld, they've tried that and no one cared neither did, Sony.

We are way past fully fledged handhelds from console makers, even Nintendo merged the 2.

The only reason the steam deck works is because it uses your steam library.

Not sure if fromsoftwares soulslike games swade the judging of the game a little even if subconsciously.

But armored core was never a world beater or a system seller.

I'm actually glad from soft decided to go back to this type of game for a change, its nice to actually have a developer which can switch things up.

Just think though this could be the start of bigger games and lore.

As a more side project to their souls like games.

I feel more like this game is a nice break for them and I hope it continues to weave in and out of the epic souls games they make.

I'm looking forward to playing. Sounds like a great game, bored of these huge open world games now, I need a good quick in and out game.

But my theory was get spiderman out the way with its special edition console for like a last hooray and then have a Christmas deal of the new sku at maybe a little cheaper than the discless version and then the add on drive for around the price you say.

At the moment its discless at 100 less so makes sense.

I'm hoping for a good psvr 2 discount. I'm up for it just money issues prevented me from paying for it and considering playstations lackluster support its a hard one.

All the talk say and some media keep saying a PS5 Slim.

Non of the rumours what came out ever said it was a slim version, not one.

Literally just seen a YouTube video about the leaked video of the new ps5 and they are going on about it being ps5 slim and actually saying it doesn't look that small.

Well no one ever said it was a slim.

Its just going to be a streamlined 1 sku PS5 so Sony make more money and not making 2 different SKUs for basically the same console.

The reality is news sites and you tubers keep using rumours as actual news.

Playstation haven't even said anything officially yet.

I expect if it isn't coming this year.

Then it will be end of 2024 along side the ps5 pro version.

A lcd 1080p screen, battery life is ment to be bad and its literally just a streaming device, with the inferior streaming from playstation.

Over priced in my eyes.
I was expecting 100/150 at most

If im paying 200 I expect a better screen quality and better battery life and at most already have a decent streaming service already.

Thing is, you could use a top of the range phone, a ps5 controller, use a third party holding device to hold the phone on the controller (had one for the ps4 controller)
And basically have a better quality looking screen not that much off the screen size of this and your not having to pay out another 200 for it.

Wasn't the witcher 3 ps5 version 50.

@Amnesiac that's good to know, was always intrigued, ive only ever been to America once and that was to Orlando florida international drive and Disney world so I've not really seen the real US.

@Member_the_game yea the originals have a special place aswel for me, I believe I was around the same age, I remember playing the demo for hours n hours.

Literally couldn't believe what I could do in that game compared to anything else I'd played.
London was also a great game.

I was in amazement with gta 2 when they introduced gangs.

So just think we are in our late 30s now and GTA is more relevant now more than ever, and when we were kids its all people talked about playing.

We havent had a new gta or even dlc for gta 5 for 10 years, no wonder its Still selling.

Think about the 10 years since the original.

We had gotten 15 gta related games including remasters and compilations.

GTA 4 was released 2008 that was the longest gap we had before hand.

The major titles came out, 1 to 2 years since 1997 up until 2004 not even counting any handheld games made.

We didn't have a reason to stick with 1 game as we had already moved onto the next within a year or 2.

GTA 5 to GTA 6 is the longest gap we have had, so it makes sense people are still buying.
It must be just the online because in all honesty GTA5 wasn't a great game once I'd finished it.

They hyped the heists up so much but in the main game the heists are few and far between and you couldn't even do heists out of the mains story and the only real heists you did was the first 1, the rest were more story driven than anything.

@Member_the_game your forgetting the amount of kids who have got to that age that their parents will allow them to play a gta game. Even when I was a kid when the first gta came out, it was amazing we could play it, over the years I've watched kids grow up, talking about gta and wanting to play, my kids and my friends kids once you hit that certain age they really want to play.

I had a friend who let them play the game with no sound,

So considering gta 5 is 10 years old, and is now a huge online game aswel. Just think of all those kids coming of age and the inly gta game is gta 5 at this point

People could make amazing games but the only people could experience these games was in dreams.

What Sony should of done was allowed people to sell the games standalone on psn.

This would of created a bigger and more vibrant community on dreams and also allowing people to make money for all involved.

This would of resulted bigger more complex games being made instead of the short but sweet games we have gotten.

Rockstar is now just a money grab of a company.

Even the main writers and the original creators of rockstar jumped ship.

We then got a awful GTA Trilogy we 0 care or love for those games.

And now we get a lackluster port to last gen consoles.

Then the crown jewel of developers Rockstar. Announces 3 years into the new gen consoles life cycle a port of a ps3 game to last gen hardware. For nearly the same price as these other remakes.

Literally the whole game knows its annoying and thats the point.

This could just be the last major release of a PS5.

Before they introduce the stream lined version.

This has happened before even when the ps4 pro was out, they made special edition consoles but it was for just the ps4 and not the pro.

But I have to admit, its a little strange to release a whole Spiderman Console with faceplate. When we've never had any before this, its a bit late. They've never really supported the faceplates before only a few colours.

What Insomniac is referring to when they said it cant be done. Is the settings the game is set to at the high standard on PS5.

The ray tracing element cant be done, the 4K resolutions cant be done, 60fps cant be done, without the SSD.

There is no way that the game we played on PS5 can be played at the same settings on a PC with a HDD.

This is why Nixxies is now using every trick and software the pc has to get it to run. But stress that a SSD is highly recommended.

What some people just can't grasp is the difference between a PC and a Console.

Like you have said, a PC can perform 100 more different tasks than a Console can perform there are many more ways around certain limitations and different software always coming out to make performance better for pc. And this is where Nixxies was a great buy for Sony, they are the best at porting games and using the inner workings of a pc to get the best out of a game.

Like you said they are using minimum spec PC's to brute force the game to work in a different way with lower res probably and other limitations.

The PS5, the developers know exactly what they have to work with and with that means they can try every trick in the book to perfect the performance.
Unlike PC each and everyone of us has a very unique build and will have different levels of power in each component.

The game will run best on high end ssd pcs.
The game however on the minimum spec pc side will not run the game at the same level ps5 can do it because of the work arounds they will have to come up with.

@PCPS4XB Exactly people think tech doesn't move on it seems, on the PC there are software which can mimic something your pc doesn't have to get the game running but probably at a lower spec game.

What people are missing is technology in PC's have come a long way since the release.

Its going to be the first game which users Direct Storage.

What this actually does has nothing to do with the hard drive, its actually very clever. Nixxies has done an amazing job.

GPU-driven DirectStorage is supported on Ratchet and Clank, the idea being that the decompressing the data from storage is handled by the graphics hardware rather than the CPU. However, it seems that the port will carry out internal bandwidth and compute benches on the fly - and then decide which PC component works best for the decompression tasks. So, for example, let's say you have a highly performant CPU like a Core i9 13900K, but you have a less capable graphics card. The game may decide that instead of using GPU resources, it'll switch to the thread-heavy CPU instead. (Qoute from EuroGamer)

What is surprising many is that at the absolute low-end, it is possible to run Ratchet and Clank without an SSD, even though it's still recommended. So insomniac wasn't wrong or lied. It quite simply cannot run on a normal HHD and get the same level of performance you get on PS5 and without using new tech on the oc side.

I didn't think this was news. I always presumed PayDay was a always online game anyway. Its an online co op game. It never started as a single player game to begin with.

Jim and anyone with knowledge of the industry that call of duty would never not be on playstation it would be call of duty suicide.

This was pure and simple, how far could Sony push it and stall it to get there own plans in order.

Reality is if you was Sony and your main competition was buying the biggest game franchise this decade, what would you do, esp when you have just seen Bethesda gobbled up and games taken away from you, when they promised they wouldn't.

You'd 100% do what ever you can to stall it and maybe stop it but unlikely.

What Sony has done is made sure that Microsoft has to put call of duty on everything, including streaming services.

There are a few games I've always wanted to play but not enough I wanted to buy and a few ill take a look at.

But at the moment I just bought dive the diver for pc and got to say playstation need this game. Its absolutely phenomenal. Game of the year, its that good. Fingers crossed its just a switch and pc year exclusive.

Really not impressed graphics wise.
For a game which involves a static pitch and just a stadium and only 22 characters to deal with, with years and years of experience.
With not kuch innovation when it comes to gameplay over the years.

I just expect alot better realism with character models and textures.

Esp when we get huge open worlds with many more ai computing going on behind the scenes.

@Truegamer79 it actually was a great game and was a success. It had great potential and I enjoyed my time with it.

Its not going away because it wasn't a success, its because people are greedy and the rights for the franchise is complex and thus the only reason it is being shut down.

I was just under the assumption this game is more of a return to form, than the best so 7th sounds about right.

Its actually the first final fantasy game I fancy playing since 10

Please for the love of God be a spiritual successor to the original blade runner game.

That game was a huge part of my childhood. I absolutely adored that game. The mess of the remaster was a disappointment.

But I always hoped they could capture the magic again some day.

I'm all in if its a investigation sim built in.

Are Microsoft a bit short sighted though.

If or when Microsoft buy Activision and they shove it onto game pass.

Then I expect sales to go down and subs to go up.

But then way up the 10.99 a month sub and the amount some people will just buy 1 month sub to play it, then not bother. They will actually lose a hell of alot more money.

So instead of the 100m buys at 70 dollas, call of duty gets every year.
.they'll get this weird cross of some just paying 10.99 to give it a go, a few who do stay on but end up giving up the sub and then the few who buy it.

The longer this goes on the longer it shows that Microsoft are very anti consumer.

So the worst Call Of Duty game, ill give that a pass and like may have said, I was over call of duty 10 years ago. Black Ops 3 was probably the last one I played with some friends.

I never got around to Alan Wake but the sequel looks phenomenal and I enjoyed Control.
So ill give it a go for the story. So I know whats happening in the sequel.

Really hoping number 2 incorporates Control into the game in some way.

@Bingbongboyo brilliant game, modern take on the old side scroller turtle games. The cowabunga collection is great to but the games are old and my kids aren't that appreciative in regards to the history of games unfortunately, unlike myself haha.

Another good one is overcooked all you can eat. Local 4 players, which is alot of fun with the little ones, even if it ends up being how many fires can they set, once they get bored and can't complete a level.

There are a few but its definitely getting harder to find games for them.

Bethesda (Zenimax) and Activision being bought is very anti consumer.

These aren't just a small team or a studio, like playstation have bought after having a good relationship with and nurturing.
These are huge publishers with many developers attached.

Microsoft cant even handle the teams they have, so history shows the xbox division aren't the best at managing.

Also the huge anti consumer which is for both or all. Is that if this deal goes through then it means anything is possible and we could end up with 1 company owning the entire gaming division, completely eradicating any competition, due to just buying everything.

An extreme view but a possibility all the same.

I dont believe Microsoft would ever get SEGA.
Japanese developers stick with there own usually.

But this just proves what most people think,

Microsoft only want to buy success and not just grow naturally like the other platforms. This is why Microsoft will always be in third place.

This also plays into the British rejection of the deal.

Taking all the major players out of the picture by buying all the best third party developers to completely dominate the cloud gaming area.

But this is why ill never buy Xbox at my forefront of the console ill buy at the beginning of a generation. Playstation have grown and developed their studios to be the power houses they are today and I respect that way of business than the thugish approach Xbox seems to have engraved into them.
