Something tells me that the CWA are in bed with Microsoft and of course it's all about the money.
It's no surprise though. Ps5 is outselling all xbox consoles by a huge margin.
No ones going to bother with game pass if they have a ps5.
The question remains though, whether game pass gets a lot, I could imagine Al la carte Xbox sales are non existent and 99% just pay for gamepass. Which again losses them money,
@nomither6 Yes it's very normal. I'd even go as far as to say it's not only normal but it's 99% of a child's life, up until a certain age, that age probably being about 11 or 12, maybe even going into your teenage years, before you really understand or want variety from different games. Before that 99% of kids will play the same games over and over and over again. It's the reason why roblox is so popular because most games are exactly the same concept. Love it or hate it but it's the way a child's brain actually learns skills.
I'm actually a qualified teacher and when I was teaching i qualified in child phycology and worked with kids with adhd and similar attention issues.
So it's quite funny reading many of these comments and a preview or review of a game basically aimed at children. But of course the adults within the conversation beat the games down for being to simple. Yet the games are judged and reviewed from an adults perspective.
No one just stops and thinks, what do you expect it's LEGO.
@Nepp67 I'm just not that person. I was there, ive been gaming since the 80s. My first console was commodore 64. Since then I have got every mainstream console ever launched and every game I've ever wanted to play.
The only console I won't get at launch is a ps5 pro.
So I don't know, maybe it's a the games have grown and I have grown with the games and I'm always looking ahead never back.
I think it maybe the 3d games don't sit well with me, when I try go back.
For example.
The first Syphon filter in my mind was absolutely amazing, when it came out, I couldn't believe the whole covert angle, I couldn't believe 2 levels in I was walking through charity function to spy on a target.
The game in my head now is that, with amazing graphics.
But trying to play it now, I'm like this is not Syphon Filter. It's definitely a me thing.
You do bring up some exceptions to the rule though.
Metal gear solid is very much a timeless classic. But I think what makes it a timeless classic is the camera angles, and great use of the tech at the time.
Certain games age differently. Like every year I still go back and play games like broken sword 1 and 2 or the entire monkey island series. The Mario games are still worthy play throughs.
I just think I'm now so spoiled by great graphics and amazing controls in games that the old 3d games are best left alone in my head so I remember them as they were.
It must be the being there when they were the hottest thing on the market and always being there when the newest game or console was out. I'm old enough to remember queuing up to buy gta 3 at a midnight launch and being totally blown away by what you could in that game. Now that's just common place for most games. Hard for me to go back.
I remember playing this on release and enjoying the game, especially after watching the movie.
I'm just not one of the people that really enjoys going back playing these games, I always feel like these games are best enjoyed at the time for what they were.
I remember it having a great squad base feature but will it hold up in today's gaming world and not feel to old and distort my memory of it.
My personal preference due to trying to play old games esp through premium was 99% of the games were better in my memory than going back and playing them. Even if they have a new coat of paint.
I'd rather have a complete remake of the old than a paint job.
Also I don't trust nightdive studios. They literally ruined one of the greatest point and click games ever created with Blade Runner enhanced edition.
It's that bad the only nice reviews it gets, is they ended up having to bundle their awful attempt with the absolute near perfect original game for free.
So honestly I just don't trust or want to give my money over to them.
@Haruki_NLI what actually happened to that whole thing. They had an actual app on the ps store. Everyone was pin pointing kojima in the crazy mystery reveals and the guy even was doing some interviews and then puff. Bathing ever happened.
Listen fury turned up to a press conference as batman so this is subtle in comparison and very fitting. Considering usyk is basically the hitman in the world of boxing. He shouldn't of beaten most his opponents when looking at the man, yet once he's in that ring and doing what he knows, he can be unstoppable.
Very fitting and he did pull it off. Yea probably should of gone all the way but may not of had the time to source a barcode sticker hahaha
@get2sammyb sorry but no. Nixxes already had a masterpiece in the art department, digital foundry themselves even said so when they checked the 4k checkerboarding on ps4 pro.
They are good at what they do.
But no one beats blue point and what they did with demon Souls.
Now I get it looks nice but these are screenshots, 95% of people are running around killing robot dinos not really caring.
The price for the upgrade is the saving grace.
I really don't think it would of done much if it was say last of part 2 price or part 1 for that matter.
I'm really intrigued by this game, I wasn't a huge fan of telltale games back then, even though I love point and click, I found myself being bored by their style, so never got a chance to play wolf amongst us.
It would of been better if they had remastered the first game to help fund a sequel.
Considering the fact many people now probably haven't played the first game and it's stuck on ps3 if my memory is correct.
The problem with have got is that gamers are getting insight into the business side and are unaware how actual business works esp.on the games industry.
This is standard practise for every single publisher.
Sony literally has a load of first party studios, who have their own budgets and finances.
The money used to do deals with other developers has 0 impact on the money used on first party developers.
Not only this but Sony has literslly bought in the passed 4 years a load of new studios to put under their umbrella. Bungie Nixxies Blue point A studio which had a similar deal in place before hand, showed them how good they was so playstation offered to bring them into the fold.
Insomanic A studio who also had deals in place and a close relationship with Sony with exclusive titles, showed how good they was and offered them into the fold.
Housemarque Same again Sony saw potential offered them deals with games, became great, made Sony a great game decided to offer them a deal they couldn't refuse, brought them into the fold.
Then also brought in brand new developers into the mix and put money up front, 1 team failed and was disbanded but Sony hadn't bought them only money.
Concord developers it was a long shot but there was potential there, they went for it, unfortunately it failed.
Haven they see great potential so brought them into the mix.
Playstation in its long history even to this day, do and will risk on potential.
But this has nothing to do with the money which is untouchable to their core first party developers, they get what they want when they want.
Unfortunately money does not make games be developed faster.
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare a very good point, I misread your comment about the dates.
But I do think next year is an exceptional year for games, yes personal choice on what your wanting from games may not be there but you can't deny the list of games isn't as good as you can get within a year, a game literally for everyone in that list.
If you got every Stella game you wanted next year then you'd be waiting another 4 or 5 years for the next round, a trickle of games is better than all at once.
Also Microsoft may have more first party games coming out but that was always going to happen at 1 point in time, due to the fact the amount of studios they have bought and the fact all Phil Spencer has ever gone on about is games games games, yet year on year Microsoft has missed.
Sony has a different strategy now with game announcements due to missing themselves so we may see more first party games next year which they haven't announced.
You talk about there maybe a lack of variety but you being an adult, may not realise that children, actually need repetition in games as that's how they learn.
All my kids have completed knack and knack 2 maybe 50 times and haven't got bored and enjoy the repetition of the games.
It's just when we become older we don't see it, the way kids see games.
@DennisReynolds hmmmm? Exactly how was it a mess? The game played flawlessly for myself and the majority. They added in amazing preset graphical options, including probably the best use of ray tracing and performance we have seen in a video game on a console.
How are they in a mess? They literally held up the first party exclusives for the entire ps5 launch window up until spiderman 2.
They have probably been the 1 developer who's games are the most polished out of everyone and they have been consistent with their output and performance.
@riceNpea I don't think its harsh at all. You have to review a game based on every aspect. This game hasn't just released its been in early access for well over a year and the developers actually promised way more than they delivered.
The commentary is poor and not well executed within the game.
When you knock a person out it's a stock animation for everybody, every time.
The career mode has some depth but it really is just spreadsheet after spreadsheet.
Winning the title, doesn't have a huge omg you made it atmosphere, there is nothing but a picture of the belt.
They are very correct on a positive that this may get a sequel because when you play thr game you can see where it's going but they just didn't quite get there and making a sequel would definitely give them more experience and give them the money to truly push what they had already promised.
They straight up lied about career mode really. They had a open world wet up to begin with and made claims about how career mode was going to be unique compared to everything else. But they scrapped that and made it spreadsheets.
The boxing mechanics are good.
But the truth is it ain't that much better than it was in fight night champions, graphics wise yes but fight night animations were better.
So I really think the review isn't harsh at all. And they gave it one of the better scores.
Right OK well most of you lot haven't had as many children as I have so I'll let you all know.
The kids don't even check the chat or anything like that out.
90% of the games are pretty bland and the kids like them. They aren't being made to buy anything and roblox has it set so you can't buy anything without knowledge first.
There are actually some great games within the service.
I've played a theme park game with free build, a prison free form builder, a complex lumberjack game. A retail Tycoon game free build,
It's actually a very good platform for younger kids.
Yea it needs more security from roblox for stuff like that.
But the core of the game is very basic and a very good introduction to gaming.
And we are adults so we view the world in a whole other way. Kids don't care they jump into a game have a go and jump out.
I mean the original splinter cell was a master piece for it's time.
If they can capture that again and make the ai even more realistic. I'm all in but I'd rather they spin it off into a new franchise than just remake the rest. Of course for the except few of them, it went alot more action than stealth.
But you really need to hit Heavy Rain. It's probably one of the best, if not thee best in this type of genre. Very gritty and grounded, with alot of twists and turns.
Also Fahrenheit has to be given your attention. It's a bit dated but the concept was amazing, esp for the time and the story is very compelling.
I'd play both before beyond two Souls, I really wasn't a fan.
@NEStalgia that's true but that's still a sale and not release.
Alot of games if I'm not mistaken are normally coming out at 40.
Of course there are exceptions and they are mostly console centric games.
But it has to be an absolutely exceptional game to warrant a physical disc price on PC and for it to do well.
Or it takes a sale anyway to get people through the door.
Majority of players probably have a secondary gaming machine and with the numbers we have majority are opting for a playstation.
So many probably have already played the game.
Also majority of PC players don't have a top tier rig, like myself I had a top tier rig in 2015/16 cost me 4 grand and I played everything on it what was third party because it was leaps and bounds better than console.
But I still had a ps4 for exclusives.
To play games at top tier today, I'd have to spend another 4 grand to get what I want from a PC but my PC is good enough for my tycoon games and so I bought a ps5 for everything else.
So my guess with this is really the only people truly buying first party playstation games are the ones who have top tier and don't need a console.
There is no excuse for a game like this to run anywhere below 30fps.
This isn't a needs a pro, it's a they are terrible at optimization.
A game so confined to the point it basically.is a modern take on a point and click adventure that frame rate shouldn't even come into play.
Esp not from first party.
Not when we have games like Spiderman 2, Horizon 2, God Of War Ragnarok. All amazing in their own right, 2 of them are huge open worlds, and all run at stable 30fps fidelity or 60fps performance, with at least 1 game having the option of a ray trace 40fps version.
There is 101 more things going on in the back ground of all 3 of those games than a game which has the exact same things happening each scene. The only.thing changes is the scene after you've made a choice.
Wait.?.?.?
People still use Wikipedia to check out games?
That's literally the last place I even bother going for anything.
Last resort.
You know when you think the world can't get anymore insane and peoples common sense can't get anymore low. You then read about thus and think nope, people can.
I find history fascinating and even more fascinating that people 1000s years ago wanted to leave a reminder to the future of what they did.
Now we live in the age of altering our own stories and wiping and distorting our own.
What a time to be alive hahaha
No.pme can be negative about this month and it just solidifies the extreme value ps plus and extra have.
Dead space remake 9/10 Wwe 2k24 the newest wwe game and to many a back to form for the series.
Those 2 alone cost the same amount as the subscription price.
Plus I've wanted to get dead space remake since it came out but I just didn't feel like it was my type of game to fully invest as I had played it originally but never really got into it and ended up just forgetting about it.
But now get to play through it and I love it, it's like a modern day Sci fi resident evil.
Wwe I could take it or leave it, but only because I fell out of love with wrestling once the attitude era came to an end.
What I would take for a WWE Attitude full service 2k game. With all the story lines they had. I know they did a category in their game a few year back but it only really scratched the service.
Unlike many others I didn't have a doubt that they could pull it off.
People are always quick to judge because the other games didn't pan out quite as they planned.
What people forget to mention because most just read headlines and don't play the game.
That their games are top notch on horror and atmosphere and for 3/4 of their games they nail it, their games have always missed the target in the final quarter.
So it just shows give them a blue print and they'll nail it. The story was already written all they had to do is recreate the atmosphere of silent hill and that's what they are good at.
I still can't believe they are trying to save the game or carrying on. Cut ya losses and move on.
I think I'm still in disbelief, that Rocksteady the 1 publisher who literally nailed down what it takes to put put a true superhero masterpiece, follows it up with 2 great sequels, nails down combat, nails down the atmosphere and the feeling of being the batman, with many ways to improve upon it and make great stories within that universe.
To go from that where they could do no wrong.
Release a live service game where the main. Characters are probably the most least liked group in Comics and them killing the Justice league, in which we've had 0 games about.
Nit only this put the enemies are just generic, the developers who literslly solidified decent combat in their games chose third person bog standard shooting as the main mechanic and the game itself plays like a ps3 style game with no modern takes with its story telling. Yes cut scenes are great but the adventure in-between feels like old standards.
They have done exactly what WB did with it's DCU.
Made great origin story for 1 person and then rushed the rest of the films.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Want a Steam Deck-Like Portable PlayStation?
It just won't work unfortunately. Not as just a dedicated handheld.
It would have to be a steam deck clone for it to work.
Just like I can play my entire library of steam games on a steam deck.
It would have to be ny entire library of psn games. It would have to be able to natively every game I own on ps4 ps5 and ps6. No questions asked.
Gone are the days of a handheld coming out which is just standalone.
No one cared for the vita and Sony sure as h*ll don't support the secondary devices they put out.
So it would only work if they did a ps portal with native full library access just like the steam deck.
Problem is, is that enough?
I mean it really depends on how many they want to sell and profit.
We all love the idea of the steamdeck but sales are less than 10m in total according to figures. Can Sony risk or want to risk that little sales.
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Is Not Getting DLC, Part 3 the Full Focus
I mean come on, there shouldn't of been dlc in the first place.
It's literally based off of one game from the ps1,
It's like how they managed to make the hobbit into multiple movies when it's literally 1 book.
These are great games but it still really is milking 1 game. Let's just get it done.
Re: The Callisto Protocol Haunts in 8K with Huge PS5 Pro Patch
@Blofse I believe if you have the money LG do a 8k oled tv the Z3 I believe.
Reality is it isn't the time for 8k.
The real sad thing though is the jump from 1080 to 4k wasn't that big compared to the actual jump to 8k.
It's a shame that it's that much more expensive.

Re: Sony Boss Says It's 'Learned a Lot' from PC Player Pushback
I have heard from q few people that the single player Sony games say they need psn, but when you load it up, you can skip, that part and just play.
I've never bought 1 because I use the console for exclusives so I dont know how true this is.
But if it is true, then people are jumping at conclusions for no reason.
It makes sense if its a live service from Sony, why wouldn't they want it on their network.
But single player of true, does not require you to sign up, you can skip it.

@Hundred_Hand_Slap yes they don't want to tell you that part.
Which they even indicated when burning shores came out.
Of course the base game was made for the ps4 and ps5.
It is a little sleight of hand when they are comparing these titles.
There are alot of performance videos out now in which people are comparing ps5 and ps5 pro performance modes and they are identical.

Re: Netflix's Recent AAA Studio Closure Part of Planned AI Pivot
You wonder if this was always the plan. Maybe they even knew.
Maybe they even have a contract in which they get royalties.
They hand over their skills so the AI can learn.
Technically all AI needs is the basics of how they code and they go from there.
Or maybe Netflix, had this plan all the time to steal their talents for the AI to learn.

To me hogwartd legacy was great because of the freedom and grounded take of going to lessons and exploring, the story itself was sort of secondary to the world.
All I want them to do is create a new story within that world and open it up more and more interactions.
I don't need it to have to follow a path along side a tv series story.
It's like the freedom fighter being free and then having chains put on them.
Could warner bros just let them be.
Just like they should of rocksteady

Re: Empire of the Ants' Creepy-Crawlies Will Move at 60fps on PS5 Pro
It just sounds so lazy if there isn't a 60fps on base ps5.
The pro is just a way for developers to become lazy about optimization.
If first party can get the quality and performance as they do on the base ps5, plus all the different types of options.
I.e spidermans performance/raytracing mode then why shouldn't we expect a flawless performance mode at least on a base.
People are acting like we all sit in photo mode and check all the details. When we don't.
Re: Star Wars Outlaws Gets Post-Launch Creative Director Switcheroo
I mean it's funny we live in an age where normal corporate changes, are headlines and because they don't give the full story it becomes headline news.
It's like we need to know the inner workings as to why this has happened in a business we have 0 to do with other than the actual product.
It could be a number of things. Maybe he felt it was time to move on. Maybe ubisoft thought it may be best to change things up.
Maybe he was only contracted for the launch and he's moved on.
Does it matter. No it doesn't, the game either gets better and sales become better or it doesn't.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5) - A Sublime Remaster of a Modern PlayStation Classic
I've never had an issue with remasters alot make sense.
My issue and the same with the last of us. They are ps4 games, they work perfectly well on ps4.
The upgrade from ps4 to ps5 is minor, yes its an upgrade but an upgrade from a well polished ps4 pro and ps5 patched game.
My worry is at what end?
Are we just going to go through generations of consoles and touch up the graphics each time we get a new generation?
Ps6 comes out and we get the same games from the ps4 ps5.
Remasters are ment to be games from old for a new generation.
These remasters are of games in which can be played with or without a remaster on the same console.
I'm just hoping this isn't a trend.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Call of Duty Remains Steady on PS5, PS4 Despite Black Ops 6's Xbox Game Pass Inclusion
Which again losses them money,
Re: Preview: LEGO Horizon Adventures Is Looking Like the Best LEGO Game Yet
Hahaha
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 552
@FinneasGH wildlands was by far the better game
Re: Don't Believe Your Eyes in The Thing: Remastered PS5, PS4 Gameplay
Re: Don't Believe Your Eyes in The Thing: Remastered PS5, PS4 Gameplay
Re: The Day Before Dev Cancels Kickstarter Bid, Brazenly Announces Another Game
@Haruki_NLI what actually happened to that whole thing. They had an actual app on the ps store.
Everyone was pin pointing kojima in the crazy mystery reveals and the guy even was doing some interviews and then puff. Bathing ever happened.
Re: Random: Boxing Champ Cosplays as Hitman's Agent 47 for Fury Presser
Listen fury turned up to a press conference as batman so this is subtle in comparison and very fitting. Considering usyk is basically the hitman in the world of boxing. He shouldn't of beaten most his opponents when looking at the man, yet once he's in that ring and doing what he knows, he can be unstoppable.
Very fitting and he did pull it off. Yea probably should of gone all the way but may not of had the time to source a barcode sticker hahaha
Re: Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Is an Absolutely Insane Upgrade
@get2sammyb sorry but no.
Re: PS Showcase Title Towers of Aghasba Enters PS5 Early Access Next Month
It looks good but that price is a bit steep for a product which is early access.
But I guess that's the console version of costs.
Re: The Wolf Among Us 2 PS5 Has Not Been Cancelled, Telltale Insists
I'm really intrigued by this game, I wasn't a huge fan of telltale games back then, even though I love point and click, I found myself being bored by their style, so never got a chance to play wolf amongst us.
It would of been better if they had remastered the first game to help fund a sequel.
Considering the fact many people now probably haven't played the first game and it's stuck on ps3 if my memory is correct.
Re: Crimson Desert Dev Found PS5 Exclusive Opportunity Appealing
@IOI @Frmknst
Bungie
Nixxies
Blue point
A studio which had a similar deal in place before hand, showed them how good they was so playstation offered to bring them into the fold.
Insomanic
A studio who also had deals in place and a close relationship with Sony with exclusive titles, showed how good they was and offered them into the fold.
Housemarque
Same again Sony saw potential offered them deals with games, became great, made Sony a great game decided to offer them a deal they couldn't refuse, brought them into the fold.
Then also brought in brand new developers into the mix and put money up front,
1 team failed and was disbanded but Sony hadn't bought them only money.
Re: Video: 2025 Is Shaping Up to Be PS5's Best Year Yet
Re: Preview: LEGO Horizon Adventures Is Looking Like the Best LEGO Game Yet
Just remember who the games are aimed at.
Re: Video: 2025 Is Shaping Up to Be PS5's Best Year Yet
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare I'd disagree insomniac has never delayed a game yet. They are probably the only reliable dev team out there
Re: Spider-Man 2 Won't Receive Any PS5 Story DLC
@DennisReynolds hmmmm? Exactly how was it a mess?
The game played flawlessly for myself and the majority. They added in amazing preset graphical options, including probably the best use of ray tracing and performance we have seen in a video game on a console.
How are they in a mess? They literally held up the first party exclusives for the entire ps5 launch window up until spiderman 2.
They have probably been the 1 developer who's games are the most polished out of everyone and they have been consistent with their output and performance.
Re: IO Interactive's Project 007 to Feature a 'Young Bond for Gamers' with a View to a Trilogy
It feels like years ago since they said they was doing a 007 game.
I'm quite liking the reveal a few months out from release, I'm not even interested in this game anymore.
I will maybe when it comes out but what is there to be excited about. Few years yet
Re: Fan-Made GTA Online Hamlet Production Coming to Cinemas, Streaming Services
@PegasusActual93 using GTA assets to profit but I'm guessing rockstar is behind this
Re: Undisputed (PS5) - Spirited Boxing Sim Is on the Path to Greatness
Re: Report Brands Roblox 'X-Rated Paedophile Hellscape' for Children, with Inflated Player Numbers
Great game
Re: Report Provides Update on Ubisoft's Elusive PS5 Splinter Cell Remake
I mean the original splinter cell was a master piece for it's time.
If they can capture that again and make the ai even more realistic. I'm all in but I'd rather they spin it off into a new franchise than just remake the rest. Of course for the except few of them, it went alot more action than stealth.
Re: Detroit: Become Human PS4, PC Sales Evolve Past 10 Million Paid Units
@StrickenBiged beyond two Souls is OK.
Re: Detroit: Become Human PS4, PC Sales Evolve Past 10 Million Paid Units
I love their games.
But I'm still baffled at how they are still going.
It's took this long to make 10mil
The tech and talent they use can't be cheap for every game.
Yet they ain't selling GTA level numbers, so how are they still going.
It was 2018 so it's been 6 nearly 7 years since their last game.
Intriguing how some of these companies even make money.
Re: Until Dawn Is One of Sony's Worst Performing PC Ports to Date
Re: Until Dawn Is One of Sony's Worst Performing PC Ports to Date
It maybe because some how playstation are trying to sell their games at top whack on steam like they do on psn.
When the fact is PC players myself included are getting triple games for 10 or 20 below these brick and motor prices for new releases.
The pricing model for PC is far cheaper than console normally.
Re: Until Dawn (PS5) - Killer Teen Slasher Snags a Pricey New-Gen Remake
In my eyes unacceptable.
Re: Random: Internet Trolls Tried to Downgrade Our Silent Hill 2 PS5 Review Score
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for October 2024?
No.pme can be negative about this month and it just solidifies the extreme value ps plus and extra have.
Dead space remake 9/10
Wwe 2k24 the newest wwe game and to many a back to form for the series.
All in all amazing month with top notch games.
Re: Silent Hill 2 (PS5) - The Horror Great Remains So in This Excellent Remake
Unlike many others I didn't have a doubt that they could pull it off.
People are always quick to judge because the other games didn't pan out quite as they planned.
What people forget to mention because most just read headlines and don't play the game.
That their games are top notch on horror and atmosphere and for 3/4 of their games they nail it, their games have always missed the target in the final quarter.
So it just shows give them a blue print and they'll nail it. The story was already written all they had to do is recreate the atmosphere of silent hill and that's what they are good at.
Well done.
Re: Random: Surgeon Uses PS5's DualSense Controller in Remote Medical Procedure
This is news?
Pretty sure if I did some detective work, I'd find 1 from years ago where they used a ps4 controller.
They just upgraded.
Re: Crickets as Suicide Squad Endures Another Muted Launch
