Over the last year I've transitioned over to my PC being my main gaming machine, with the PS5 and Switch being there for first-party games, so my opinion may be a little biased.
I don't see a Pro being necessary at all at this point. Sure the console will sport a little more power then the base version and some AI tech, but like I said on the article with the poll, the PS5 hasn't even hit it's ceiling yet.
I don't really see the need for a mid-gen refresh for the PS5. I feel the console hasn't even reached it's full potential yet and we're already at a Pro version.
Well it was nice knowing Bend Studios. I plan on getting Days Gone on sale through Steam and playing it finally after how many years of never getting around to playing it.
I'm sorry, but adding a boat load of microtransactions in a single-player focused game after the review embargo lifts and game releases is absolutely ridiculous, especially literally right after release.
I remember buying the first Dragon's Dogma on a whim way back on the PS3 and really enjoyed a lot of the mechanics the game had. I may buy the sequel to relive those old days.
The fact that the devs have only three servers for a game like this is hilarious.
I decided to buy the original version of the game on Steam for $2 since a lot of reviews for this collection say the original has a ton of mod support and really active multiplayer.
Sad to see a studio closed down before they have a chance to ship out their first game.
On a side note, I said in a previous article that studio closures are happening quite a bit in 2024 so it's a news cycle we're bound to keep seeing. Hopefully everything gets stable for a lot of these devs.
Kinda makes me glad I waited on getting this until it drops a little on price (that and I was knee deep playing Infinite Wealth at the time, which helped justify this decision).
Who wants to bet we'll be getting a complete re-release of this down the line with the DLC?
I wonder if the price increase was a potential factor. A lot of people would much rather wait for a small price drop then pay full price, especially nowadays.
Vinyl record covers are always treats on the eyes. I have a small collection of vidya game vinyls and I really want to invest in some hanging wall mounts for them to show the art off.
@twitchtvpat It's not really forcing since major layoffs have been the big topic of discussion in the game industry for the start of 2024, and it's going to continue to be a topic as more companies do it.
It's not something we just brush under the rug and ignore, especially with how frequent it's been happening.
The combat looks just as fun as it was in the first game which is a big positive.
I did notice some weird textures suddenly becoming higher quality during camera cuts in conversations but that's something that can be patched post-release.
I decided to toss a 2TB NVMe SSD drive into my PC just for games to free up my other SSD's that I use for my day-to-day and other work stuff. Game sizes are crazy nowadays and I figured it's high time to dedicate a slot in my PC just for games. On the console side, I'm still rocking the 1TB storage that my PS5 came with but I had to do the classic delete to install dance quite a few times. It works.
@ShogunRok GG Strive getting an anniversary edition with the DLC characters gives me hope! I still have the vanilla version of FighterZ on my shelf without any DLC.
@ShogunRok Really wish it was more of a complete edition then a vanilla upgrade since we're likely not going to get anymore DLC characters for the game. Ah well.
The rollback is nice but hopefully they can iron out some of the loose ends it has. Shame it doesn't have crossplay.
Also it seems like the upgrade doesn't have any of the DLC characters, which is a massive missed opportunity since the DLC is more then the game itself.

Re: 6v6 Hero Shooter Marvel Rivals Officially Announced, But There's No Mention of PS5
I got a genuine chuckle out of how the video thumbnail looks just like the art book cover that Overwatch had in it's collector's edition.
Also the first thing I noticed in the video is that the UI looks exactly like Overwatch's. Crazy.
Re: Preview: Stellar Blade Is the PS5 Exclusive Enthusiasts Have Been Praying For
Very excited for this game.
Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About the PS5 Pro?
I don't really see the need for a mid-gen refresh for the PS5. I feel the console hasn't even reached it's full potential yet and we're already at a Pro version.
Re: Days Gone Dev Bend Studio Staffing Up for 'AAA Live Service' Game

I definitely want to download this demo and give the play a try. I'm really hyped for it.
Re: South Park: Snow Day! (PS5) - 3D Co-Op Card Brawler Is a Step Back for the Franchise
What a massive shame seeing this be a few steps back from the previous South Park games. They had such a great formula going and they toss it away.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 521
A bunch of Splatoon 3 due to the Splatfest
And I may hop into WoW and keep leveling my shaman.
Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Slated for Adding Sinister PS5 Microtransactions at Launch
I'm sorry, but adding a boat load of microtransactions in a single-player focused game after the review embargo lifts and game releases is absolutely ridiculous, especially literally right after release.
Re: Rise of the Ronin (PS5) - A Safe, Outdated Open World Game
Ah what a shame. I was really hoping this would be a bit better since I love samurai games.
Re: Media Molecule's Live Curation Support for Dreams Stops Next Month
I genuinely wish Dreams would've released on PC.
Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 (PS5) - This Could Be the Apex of RPG Adventuring
I remember buying the first Dragon's Dogma on a whim way back on the PS3 and really enjoyed a lot of the mechanics the game had. I may buy the sequel to relive those old days.
Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Gameplay Showcase Is Visually Stunning, Confirms a Bunch of Characters
The game looks really good, basically what a Budokai Tenkaichi 4 should be.
Re: Hi-Fi Rush (PS5) - Xbox Gem Makes Its Rhythmic Debut on PS5
Played and beat the game on Steam last summer, absolutely loved it.
Re: There's a Squirrel with a Gun, and He's Firing at PS5
I swear I saw a guy joking about making a squirrel with a gun in Unity a few months ago, as a goofy little project.
Kinda hilarious that it's a game now.
Re: Sonic and Angry Birds Join Forces at Last in a Crossover No One Asked For
Yeah I agree with the headline, nobody asked for this lol
Re: PS1 Remasters Tomb Raider 1-3 Now Run in Native 4K at a Blistering 120fps on PS5
I haven't bought the collection yet but I'm glad to see the patch is adding some new features.

Re: Shadows of the Damned Remaster Is Now Hella Remastered, Playable at PAX East
I think I remember seeing this game in a local game store years ago but never picked it up.
I'll have to get around to getting this remaster.
Re: Oft-Forgotten Jak & Daxter Spin-Off The Lost Frontier Soaring to PS5, PS4 via PS Plus Premium
I only played a little bit of Lost Frontier on the PS2 years ago.
It's not a terrible game like a lot of people say, but it's just not the greatest Jak game.
Re: First Persona 3 Reload DLC Out Now, Adds Songs from Persona 5 and 4
We've come full circle where Persona 5 music is added into Persona 3.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Is 'Done', Says Director, But 'Little' Updates May Still Happen
I'm glad I waited on playing the game until the 2.0 update, cause I absolutely loved it.

Re: Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis Expansion Pass Priced at Roughly £30 / $35
Really hoping the expansion is pretty beefy at that price point.
Re: Persona 3 Reload's Episode Aigis DLC Was Dropped from the Base Game Due to Development Difficulties
Yeah, I do find that hard to believe.
If I'm being honest, if that specific piece of dlc is something like $15 or so, I'll believe him.
But if it's like $30 then it's a lie.
Re: Everyone's Talking About Eve's Outfits in PS5 Exclusive Stellar Blade
I always like it when games offer outfit customization, it makes a player's playthrough feel unique for them.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Unicorn Overlord?
Oh shoot, I forgot they did Dragon's Crown. I'll have to keep an eye on this game for a future purchase.
Re: Helldivers 2 PS5, PC Almost Matching Marvel's Spider-Man 2's Sales in UK
I still feel like a lot of the game's success is attributed to the fact that it released on console and PC simultaneously.
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's 'Creepy' Moogles Are Giving Players the Ick
I definitely prefer the older design. The new one looks like a game's parody of Moogles, called something like Goomles.
Re: Spider-Man 2's New Game+ Update Adds Access to Dev Menu That Could Corrupt Your Saves
Feel bad for Insomniac, they're having a rough time.
Re: Full Price Remake Persona 3 Reload Will Be 'Complete' with Episode Aigis DLC, Says Producer
Really strange decision by the peeps at Atlus.
Kinda makes me glad I waited on getting this until it drops a little on price (that and I was knee deep playing Infinite Wealth at the time, which helped justify this decision).
Who wants to bet we'll be getting a complete re-release of this down the line with the DLC?

Re: Ghost of Tsushima's Anticipated PC Port Launches an Assault on Steam Charts
A lot of PC only players were waiting for Ghost to drop on Steam, I'm not surprised the pre-orders are so high.

Re: Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Dev Reveals Three Cut Job Classes, Praises Dondoko Island
Dondoko was really cool but I didn't spend a ton of time playing it, but I can see why it's super addicting.
Re: Smash Hit Indie Roguelike Balatro Has Sold Half a Million Copies in 10 Days
I really want to give this a shot. I watched a video of a guy playing it and it looks like an enjoyable time.
Re: Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut Finally Confirmed for PC, Launches This May
Really happy to see Ghost come to PC. Definitely want to buy it on PC for the ultrawide.

Re: Helldivers 2 Dev Pours Cold Water on PlayStation Acquisition Rumours
If it's going to happen, then I hope the devs don't have any sort of layoffs forced on them by Sony.
Re: Sounds Like PS5's Stellar Blade Will Be Playing Dress Up Long After Launch
A lot of the outfits that we've seen so far look pretty good so I'm really curious to see what's added post-launch.
Re: Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition Demands a Futuristic PC
Very high is a little bit more demanding, but high and below are not bad at all. My PC can easily do high at 1440p.
Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Is Much Bigger Than the First Game, But the Main Story Will Respect Your Time
I have a lot of respect for that, especially nowadays.

@get2sammyb Oh that makes sense.
Re: MLB The Show 24 Adds Female Ballplayers to RPG-Inspired Road to the Show
I never expected to see MLB The Show and RPG-Inspired in the same headline, yet here we are.
I've always been intrigued by The Show but haven't given the IP a chance yet. Maybe someday.
