But didn’t Rockstar only publish the remastered trilogy? I believed they outsourced the development to Grove Street Games, and that’s why it was such a mess.
Wow that’s really low effort. I already have the Legacy collection on PS3.
So basically the only noteworthy change is they just added trophy support to the MGS port that was in the collection before? It’s sad that I’ll probably get it for that reason alone, but it sure does come off as barebones and lazy.
No incentive to play a straight port again. I got full trophy completion for RDR and all its DLC in 2020 on the PS3, right when Covid lockdown started.
I’ll remember this game with fond memories because it was the game I binged while wondering if the world was coming to an end.
A fantastic game, but I have no reason to revisit it again if this port offers nothing new.
I started Twisted Metal when it came to the PS+ classic collection and so far have beaten the game with about half the roster. I gotta beat the game with the other half of cars to get the platinum.
Other that, continuing my journey in Elden Ring about 290 hours in now, and always getting at least a few rounds in of Crypt of the Necrodancer daily.
@Darude84 Im not staying in an area just to grind rune levels, I just take a really long time to explore places when I want to be thorough. The sheer size of the world in Elden Ring is quite impressive, I gotta say.
I thought Horizon: Forbidden West had a large map but it feels small now in comparison to Elden Ring.
My vigor does feel like it’s starting to get high at 60 though, so I can survive most attacks. So I just decided a while back to not use any summons to help me during boss fights, to keep the challenge up. Miss my little jellyfish though. That was my favorite one.
@BAMozzy Right, but can’t the same be said for the Spider-Man 2 video as well as all the other games that were at the showcase? They were all linked on various websites, and none of them did anywhere close to the viewership numbers that Marathon and Spider-Man 2 got.
That was precisely my point that a new Bungie release is a very big deal. I think it’s impressive that a reboot of a very old game from Bungie is doing Spider-Man 2 engagement numbers.
But you’re right about the size of the Youtube account not mattering much if all the websites linked it.
It’s impressive for sure, Spider-Man 2 is going to do huge numbers.
But what’s way more impressive and downright shocking to me is that the youtube channel for Marathon has a measly 20k subscribers and almost 19 million views for the Marathon trailer. Look into it if anyone is curious.
It’s got the numbers of Spider-Man 2’s Marvel and PlayStation account views combined on a tiny youtube channel. That’s more impressive to me since it’s not a household name like Spider-Man.
This was probably the best announcement of the show for me. Can’t wait to revisit these classics, and trophy support for Metal Gear Solid for the first time I believe.
I’m finally going to play Spider-Man by way of the remastered version for PS5. Downloading it as we speak. Never played this before, but with the PlayStation showcase right around the corner and Spider-Man 2 practically a lock to show up, I figured now’s a good time to catch up with the series.
I’d be curious to know your opinion on the sequel whenever you get around to playing it. Especially if you enjoyed Zero Dawn. It’s not a flawless sequel by any means, but I think it definitely improves on Zero Dawn in many ways, while also having issues of its own.
Do you have certain machines that you have this issue with? I can’t say I shared this same issue or feeling when I was playing the game. And to my eyes, I don’t really see how what you’re describing is a change from Zero Dawn.
In Zero Dawn you also have to shoot off pieces of armor at times in order to expose parts of the machine that can lead to bigger amounts of damage.
For example in both Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, Snapmaws ( the crocodiles) have two elemental canisters on their heads near the shoulders that will explode if hit with a fire arrow. But in order to expose the elemental canister you sometimes have to remove the piece of armor covering them. Similarly in both games, one of the weak points of a Thunderjaw is that orange spot behind the shoulders. If you shoot in that spot it does like triple your normal damage, but before it can be exposed you have to shoot off a piece of armor to get to it.
It’s about learning how the machines differentiate from one another and exploiting their weak points. But I don’t really see how that mechanic changed much from Zero Dawn. There’s just a much greater variety of machines in Forbidden West that you have to figure out.
I personally appreciated the fact that every machine has a unique design to its parts. They all have different detachable sections that can remove some of their attacks in battle and do decent damage. And they pretty much all have elemental weaknesses you can take advantage of as well.
I never felt like I was just chipping away at armor pieces and doing barely any damage, even on my Ultra Hard playthrough.
@MFTWrecks I don’t really get your complaint about the armor pieces on machines. You can highlight every removable piece on a machine with your focus, and even tag the parts if you want to keep them highlighted during the whole combat encounters.
So whether or not you hit the detachable parts, or miss and instead hit their armor, comes down to your ability with aiming.
There’s a ton of different playstyles in Forbidden West depending on how you want to play. I always go for melee up close with a long range bow for sniping. My wife in contrast loves to set traps and tripwires to take things down.
The skill trees in Forbidden West open up the possibilities for a bunch of different styles to approach combat situations.
I’m going to be starting a New Game+ playthrough of The Last of Us: Part II on Grounded difficulty with permadeath by chapter, to try and knock out those two trophies at the same time.
I’m looking forward to the challenge and I’ve heard the AI on that difficulty can make the gunfights pretty intense.
The PS+ Extra library has an enormous amount of titles that absolutely dwarfs Gamepass in terms of sheer numbers of titles, which includes many great first-party PlayStation games that you can’t get on rival services such as Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, Returnal, God of War, etc.
There’s also been some great day and date releases as of late like Tchia, Meet Your Maker, and the upcoming Humanity.
Then on Premium tier it’s got those nostalgic classics that are constantly receiving more trophy support.
It’s really starting to blossom into a great all-around service with something for everyone.
Sounds awesome. It would be cool if you guys had a list that you updated from time to time that shows every classic game that has trophy support. It’s getting a little hard to keep track of them now and differentiate them from the classics without trophy support.
I think there’s around 9 currently? Not positive on that number though.
Sony first party continues to one-up themselves in a sort of friendly competition. I have to wait until February to play Ragnarok unfortunately but I cannot wait as someone who loved every moment of the 2018 reboot and put 125 hours into it.

Re: After PlayStation's Biggest June in 15 Years, PS5's Price Drops in USA This Weekend
Record sales going into a discount, followed up closely by Spider-Man 2. This shizz bout to snowball.

Hell nah. I don’t change for no one. I go mad hard.
Re: Helldivers 2 PS5, PC Release Date May Be Set for October
Spider-Man 2 and Helldivers 2 in the same month, gonna be a fun October.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for August 2023?
Pretty happy about the month with Dreams and Death’s Door.

Re: Twisted Metal Surpasses All Expectations on Rotten Tomatoes
Pretty awesome to see Twisted Metal get a resurgence between this show, the classics added to ps+ recently, and the new title supposedly in the works.
I wasn’t feeling the short clip I saw from the show, but the generally positive reviews has me more curious to check it out.
Re: Armored Core 6 Is Apparently Five Times the Length of Previous Games
5x the length of previous games, or in other words, still 4x smaller than Elden Ring.
Re: Twisted Metal Duo Add PS5, PS4 Platinum Trophies
Let’s go! Beat the game with all characters, that should be a fun nostalgia trip. I’m bout to melt fools with Thumper.
Re: Bungie's PS5 Marathon Reboot Recruits Top Halo Infinite Talent
I cannot wait to try Marathon and see what Bungie has been working on.
Re: Twisted Metal Completes Grand Comeback with PS Plus Premium Pair Ahead of TV Show Debut
Can’t wait to play 1 & 2 again. I Must’ve been a kid last time I played either.
Re: PS1 Platformer Tomba! Makes a Grand Return on PS5, PS4
We swimming in classics. Great announcements today.
Re: 18 More Games Join PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week
Anyone who hasn't played It Takes Two yet, it's absolutely one of the best games of its year.
I'm excited to try The Ascent and Undertale personally. Heard really good things about both. I ain't even mad at Spongebob!
Twisted Metal 1 and 2 with trophy support I'd like to assume??
I'm very pleased this month personally.
Re: Gex Is Back! The Complete PS1 Trilogy Comes to PS5, PS4
Oh heck yes, I’m loving these classic trilogy collections. Keep em coming!

Elden Ring. 240 hours in, haven’t beaten it yet and no sign of stopping anytime soon. I’m exploring every square inch of this world.
A little Crypt of the Necrodancer on the side.
Happing gaming everyone.
Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection: All Games Included and What to Play First
There’s no way I can pass up this collection with MGS getting trophies for the first time.
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2023 Announced
Looking forward to Walan Make.
Re: The Best Killzone Game Is Coming to PS5, PS4 with PS Plus Premium
I’m a fan of the Killzone series, but never have played this one. I’m looking forward to changing that, and hopefully with a shiny new platinum.
Re: Poll: Was Summer Game Fest 2023 a Sizzler or a Wash Out?
Honestly don’t see how this show was any better than Sony’s. Nothing shown was on the level of Dragon’s Dogma 2 unless you’re a huge FF fan.
I see both shows as equal in terms of quality games. The Sony show just had way more hype around it so it gave a worse impression.
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Hype Huge As Gameplay Reveal Nears 20 Million Views

Surprisingly no mention of Marathon? It’s arguably the biggest winner of the show, with more views on Youtube than even Spider-Man 2.
Re: Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3 Launch on PS5 in the Master Collection
This was probably the best announcement of the show for me. Can’t wait to revisit these classics, and trophy support for Metal Gear Solid for the first time I believe.
Re: Round Up: What Was Announced at the PlayStation Showcase?
There was no need to call this a showcase.
They should have just made this a 1-hour State of Play based on indies, third-parties, and VR titles.
Then they could have done a separate 15-20 minute State of Play for Spider-Man 2 and it would have been pretty much the same thing.
When you call your event a PlayStation Showcase, you’re setting expectations for first-party studios to show up in a big way.
What a bummer.

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Dev to Reveal Studio's Future at UK Event
I put way more time than I’d care to admit in Horizon: Forbidden West. Just wrapped up 100% completion of the base game and Burning Shores.
I’m honestly really interested to see where the story goes from here with how Forbidden West ended.
Re: Returnal Dev Has Expanded Workforce for Next PS5 Project
Whatever Housemarque makes, I’m there day 1. Consistently a great studio, and Returnal was GotY 2021.
Re: Sony Quietly Hands Trophy Support to One More PS Plus Premium Game
The more the merrier. I did the trophies for Super Stardust Portable about a month back and it was very enjoyable to revisit a classic with trophies.
Re: Poll: Which PS5, PS4 Games Are You Most Looking Forward to in April 2023?
1. HFW: Burning Shores
2. GrimGrimoire OnceMore
3. Mega Man Battle Network Collection
It’s gonna be a great month!
Re: PS Plus Extra's Tchia Will Demand 100% Completion for Platinum Trophy
Looks like a very charming sandbox-y type of experience. I hope to play it eventually. These day 1 releases on PS+ are always nice to get.
Re: Preview: Final Fantasy 16 Is Shaping Up to Be a PS5 Game of the Year Contender
First mainline FF title I’m getting since FFX. Can’t wait, it looks amazing.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 on PSVR2 Is the Full Game, Except for Split-Screen Play
Huge news. Alot of people were speculating that it might just be a “VR mode” like GT Sport had, but not the full game.
Having the full game in VR is very exciting stuff.
Re: Free Gran Turismo 7 PSVR2 Update Confirmed for Launch
This is the news I was hoping for. 100% getting PSVR 2 now. GT7 was my most played game of 2022.
Re: Ambitious The Last of Us Multiplayer Gets New Art As Series Passes 37 Million Units Sold
I have high hopes for Factions II. Naughty Dog has been working on it for a long time.
Re: The Last Guardian, Shadow of the Colossus Legend Aiming for 2023 Announcement
Whatever it is, and whatever platform it’s on, I’m there day one.
Ueda is an absolute legend.
Re: Poll: What Is Your PS5, PS4 Game of the Year 2022?
In a great year for gaming, the most enjoyment and hours put into a game this year for me is Gran Turismo 7 by far.
Re: Mini Review: Gungrave G.O.R.E. (PS5) - It's Definitely a New Gungrave
No wonder they kept showing those awesome cg trailers for this game, the actual game in those screenshots look so bad by comparison.
Re: 10 PSVR2 Launch Games Revealed So Far
Horizon: Call of the Mountain seems to be the standout so far for sure.
No Man’s Sky VR sounds pretty neat though.
I need that GT7 VR news and it’s a guaranteed purchase from me.
