Re: Soapbox: Why You Should Play Shenmue I & II on PS4

DrClayman

@get2sammyb That sounds good. The series has piqued my interest in the past, but most people I've met that had played them tended to emphasise on the negatives. And yeah, I wouldn't expect them to stand up to modern standards like Uncharted or God of War, but if you're comparing them to the Metal Gears of the time, that's a good enough recommendation for me. Might actually give them a bash when they're out.

Re: Soapbox: Why You Should Play Shenmue I & II on PS4

DrClayman

I think I'm missing the point of why this is a must play. Between cumbersome controls, dated open world, bad voice acting and bad writing, what is its redeeming quality? Is the story that good that it eclipses all other shortcomings? Or is it a must play just as an educational piece of history?

Re: Review: God of War (PS4)

DrClayman

Hey @get2sammyb great review. One question, does the game have loads of extras like the previous entries after you finish it? As in, behind the scenes videos, artwork and assets galleries etc. Would be good to know!

Re: Bethesda Dates Its E3 2018 Press Conference

DrClayman

Elder Scrolls 6 is almost guaranteed to be revealed, wouldn't be surprised if it released this fall. They've always been about 5 years between entries, and will be 7 years since Skyrim by then. Surely we're long overdue one.

Re: Soapbox: NieR: Automata Has the Best Credits Sequence of 2017

DrClayman

@BranJ0 @kyleforrester87 yeah, can't argue with that, it could have crashed and burnt without anyone noticing, but there is at least some attention thrown its way. It's as you say, no matter what the chat around it is, I feel it deserves more. I just hope more people will play it over the next few years through word of mouth, sales etc.

Re: Soapbox: NieR: Automata Has the Best Credits Sequence of 2017

DrClayman

@kyleforrester87 Dunno man, I'm doing the rounds from various press outlets and their end of year lists and it's being significantly overshadowed by games such as Zelda and Horizon. Fantastic games in their own right, but I think Nier is in a whole other league in the way it revolutionises storytelling and combines gameplay in video games while not letting down of any other aspect such as visuals, music etc

To each their own of course, but I feel a lot of people are missing out on something that's way more important than they realise.

Re: Catherine: Full Body's First Trailer May Raise an Eyebrow or Two

DrClayman

Man, I remember really enjoying Catherine until I hit a proper wall 3 or 4 hours in and could not get past a puzzle for the life of me. It really put me off the game cause I was really enjoying the plot, but not the fact I'd have to start over if I wanted to just lower the difficulty, so I never went back. I'd like to give it another shot now, but it's still left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Re: Destiny 2 Is the PlayStation Store's Biggest Ever Day One Launch

DrClayman

I went digital this time as well, so did a few of my friends. For a game that I was going on and off for three years (D1), I really regretted not spending the extra tenner at launch to go digital. I'm fine with physical games if it's one and done kind of deal, but games that I keep going back to like Destiny, Overwatch, Titanfall, I'll only go digital from now on.

Re: Opinion: Is PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Coming to the PS4?

DrClayman

There is no chance in hell this is not coming to PS4. Absolutely zero chance. A game this high profile, that has a console version in development, would never be exclusive to the console with the significantly least amount of users. It's just math, the money that Microsoft would have to pay to cover the potential earnings they would get from the PS4 userbase, would be close to, or even more than what they would earn from sales. The game preview thing, timed exclusivity, sure. But I'd bet everything I've got that this will make its way to the PS4 when it is completed. It's too big not to.

Re: Feature: All the E3 2017 Press Conferences Rated and Reviewed

DrClayman

Doom VR, Wolfenstein 2 and Evil Within 2 make Bethesda a clear winner imo, dunno why most people are so down on it. Yes, we suspected Wolf2 and EW2 were in development, but the same can be said for Bloodborne 2 and the Sucker Punch game, which weren't even mentioned from Sony. Also, I like short and snappy, and the whole theme park theme felt like they were having a bit of fun with it.

Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PS4 Game at E3 2017?

DrClayman

No Metro Exodus there?! Anyway, from this list it's Destiny 2 cause it's more Destiny, AC Origins cause it's the Black Flag team and that's one of my favourite games of all time, and Wolfenstein 2 cause the first one was awesome and I love me some mecha Nazis

Re: Talking Point: Is PSX Now More Important to Sony Than E3?

DrClayman

Yeah, it increasingly feels like E3 is the mainstream face of Sony, where PSX is where they talk to the PlayStation fanbase. I'm okay with that, but I do wish they stopped doing them in america for pete's sake. PlayStation has a strong international audience (and we were the ones keeping them relevant when everyone in the US was loving their 360s) and it sucks that year after year it's always over there. I wish they could do them alternatively, one year in the US, one in Europe, one in Japan. I really want to attend a PSX but I ain't gonna fly over for a show, as good as it might be.

Re: Reaction: What Sony's E3 2017 Press Conference Got Wrong

DrClayman

I apologise if I sound repetitive, but a couple of exciting new announcements would have elevated this from alright to awesome. Don't get me wrong, it was still a decent showing, and I get that some people care about MH and SotC (again!), but I don't think these have nearly the amount of impact, say, a Bloodborne 2 would have. I just want Bloodborne 2, alright
