@colonelkilgore Not really, R* hired them and signed off on releasing these versions, they're the publisher. If they genuinely weren't happy with their work they would have asked them to address it before release, or take it to a different developer if they thought GS were not up to the task.
But that's not what happened, R* will have signed off on these remasters and released them anyway, so they're to blame imo.
Nah, I'm ignoring the haters, this is good news. F9 was not the best in the series, but still very enjoyable.
And there's no better fit for Mass Effect than a Fast and Furious writer. Action packed, dysfunctional family dynamics, cheesy one liners, you name it.
I'd say go one step further, get Justin Lin to direct it and Vin Diesel as Shepard and I'm there frame 1.
Like, my man, I'm not a fan of PS5 Pro is not great and it is pretty expensive, but you can't compare a sole graphics card that costs x2.5 times the cost of the entire system and say "well that does it better". Well duh.
@RoomWithaMoose Agreed that it does sound a bit confusing throwing all those comparisons in, I guess putting all that together, to me it sounds like Hunt Showdown, but with a scifi setting and a faster/more action oriented gameplay.
Which I don't know, maybe it could work? I've not played other extraction shooters, but at least in Hunt the slow pace and tension is what makes it so enjoyable. Not sure how a game of that type would play out if everyone was mad dashing and gunning and throwing Supers all over the place. I'll wait and see.
Oh come on, I think this has been read completely wrong (or not at all) judging by the comments. Doesn't look to me there's any actual beef, I feel like Geoff is trying to banter with them and not being any good at it, which might be a bit awk but don't see any malice behind it.
Yes, yes it is. It's an absurd price point for a games console. If they did what they did with 4 (same price point as the base one, while the base gets a price drop) I would have considered it. I play on a 4K 120hz TV so would be up for the extra horsepower/visuals.
Not like this, I don't think the gains warrant it, the PS5 doesn't feel like it's reaching it's limits anyway, I'm happy enough playing at 60 at lower resulutions than 4K.
They did the same with PS All Stars, Cloud was the most glaring omission there. Although that game had many other obvious ones missing, so Square's absence is even more noticeable here.
I dunno man, seems a bit of a reach. To me anyway, service implies something you pay for. So like if something gets updated over time I consider this support, not service. Schematics, I know, but that's what I consider live service, either subscriptions, expansions, season passes, micro transactions, or a combination of the above.
@Toot1st Context is important though. MK has always had much bigger mass market appeal, but also MK11 was the follow up to MKX, which is considered one of, if not the best, MK games, period. That's from both casual and competitive audiences, so hype was a lot higher to jump on. By comparison, MK11 was not as well received, so not as many people jumped on MK1 and that shows.
SF6 got a great launch and reception, but it was also following up SF5, which had a troubled launch to say the least (even though it did turn things around).
Lastly that's MK11's lifetime sales, SF6 has only been out a year. Don't know if it's gonna reach those numbers, but can see it doing at least 8-10 million by the end of it's run.
Nice one, good selection. Love that they're including the odd sports game the last few years. Not for me, but that audience felt largely ignored from PS Plus in the past.
F2P is the only way it might have a chance at resurgence, along with a re-launch, 2.0 of sorts, touting new features etc
Even then it will be tough, but there's no chance in hell it gains an audience at that price for entry. And without an audience, there's really no future for a MP live service game.
@Mortal Rollback is a big reason. Yes, Fightcade has been filling that gap for a while now, but a lot of people either don't have PCs, or don't want to mess around with downloads from odd sites, setting up etc, they'd prefer something that's just plug and play.
Fightcade is relatively easy to set up and runs on low end PCs, but it still asks you to download roms from what might seem untrusty websites and servers, so for people (understandably) uncomfortable with that, this is a great release.
@DualWielding Because I'm almost certain all of the included games run on the same arcade system (Naomi/Dreamcast). So there's probably a Naomi emulator running in the background.
OG Rival Schools was running on a Sony guy, essentially a PS1 in an arcade cabinet.
CVS collection will be next I feel, especially given how they're still working with SNK. After that, yeah, Rival Schools/Project Justice makes the most sense
It's a great idea, Steam reviews are one of the best things in the games industry, and also one of the few feedback systems out there that makes publishers listen and put things in effect quickly when there's issues with their games.
It's a new game, they announced that a while ago when they stopped actively updating Split gate, think it was a year or so ago? Looking forward to the reveal!
A fine month, nice and varied. What every month should be imo. A small indie, a AAA shooter and a sports title, and all 3 pretty well received critically. You can never please everyone but surprised reception is so negative tbh.
I have it on good authority that something FF9 is 100% happening. I don't know if it's something as simple as a port, or a full blown remake, or something in between, but at the very least I heard they were recording voiced dialogue for it a year or two ago. So at the very least some work is going into it as opposed to a straight port.
Wow I'm glad that didn't happen tbh. What now feels like a funny/silly set of collectibles would feel like awkwardly shoved in product placement if that has gone their way. Dodged a bullet imo.
I think Stellar Blade is going to do gangbusters in sales. There was already a lot of good will behind it, and releasing the demo was a great idea, cause it was amazing. I feel people are re-assured now as much as they can be to jump in.
@DiggleDog I second that. 2 is great. Medievil 1 has had 2 remakes (PSP and PS4) and they're both playable on PS4/PS5 now. The PS4 remake also includes the original, so you can effectively play 3 versions of the original currently, but 2 doesn't exist in any form.
I'd love a remake of 2, but I'd also take a PS1 classic release of it in the meantime.

Re: Assassin's Creed Syndicate Finally Gets 60fps Patch on PS5, PS5 Pro
@Oram77 Fair! You know I really didn't like Revelations much when it first came out, not too sure why but it just didn't make an impression.
Then I replayed it years later and was like, what was I thinking? This game is great!
Re: Assassin's Creed Syndicate Finally Gets 60fps Patch on PS5, PS5 Pro
@Oram77 Woah that's crazy! I respect your opinion friend, but for me Syndicate is probably 2nd favourite, behind Black Flag.
Re: Dressing Eve as 2B Won't Be Free in Stellar Blade's PS5 DLC
That's fine, take all my money Shift Up. Literally cannot wait for this.

I honestly thought they'd break CvS and 3D fighters into separate collections. That's a cracking release.
