Re: Despite Scrapping PS4, Gotham Knights Is Just 30fps on PS5

DrClayman

@Olmaz Not gonna lie, a lot of this is going over my head lol, but what I think you mean is that the hardware is capable of using VRR at lower than 48fps, but it's a software limit on the PS5 that doesn't allow it?

Appreciate you explaining though regardless of me being a bit thick lol

Re: Console Players Will Need to Learn How to Shoot as Overwatch 2 Disables Aim Assist in Crossplay

DrClayman

@Deityjester @banacheck "forced" "having to play". Has anyone in these comments played a single game of Overwatch?? You don't have to play against PC players, crossplay with PC is off by default, and you can't even choose to, on most occasions. Literally the only time you'll end up in a PC lobby, is when you actively choose to, willingly, team up with a PC player in your group. Which is fair play tbh, how is that not getting through to anyone?

Re: Console Players Will Need to Learn How to Shoot as Overwatch 2 Disables Aim Assist in Crossplay

DrClayman

Man this is being made to be such a bigger deal than it actually is.

First off, this is not new, pretty sure it was implemented ever since Overwatch 1 got crossplay.

Second, it only ever comes into effect if you willingly team up with a PC player in your group, in all other cases console players only play with console players and PC with PC.

Lastly, the advantages/disadvantages of aim assist are not as clear cut as people here make it out to be. Go check some footage from Daltoosh in Apex and see how he wrecks on controller vs kb/m players and how much of an advantage aim assist can be if you know how to use it.

I'm not taking a side just to be clear, personally couldn't care less, but just want to point out it's not as easy to make a decision on how to tackle it, some companies will do it one way, and some another. It is an issue, and there never will be a perfect solution.

Re: Ubisoft Joins $70 Game Train, Skull and Bones the First

DrClayman

Yeah, this game is dead, calling it now. It's heavily multiplayer focused, which was gonna be a struggle to build a community even at a £60 price point. It's a given it will also be full of battle/season passes, microtransactions and gambling, and they expect to make this a success at a £70 entry point? Will love to see what the playerbase is two weeks out from release.

Re: Capcom Reveals Two TGS Events, One for Street Fighter 6

DrClayman

@Deoxyr1bose I don't think they care that much about that. RE2 remake and DMC5 came out within about a month and a half of each other, and I feel there's much more crossover between those two titles, than between resi and SF.

Not saying it couldn't be as far as May, but my feeling is earlier in the year, to give people some time to figure out the game before competitions. Combo Breaker is end of May, I don't think they'd still want SF5 there.

Re: It May Be Time for You to Buy an Arcade Cabinet

DrClayman

Fingers crossed this is a sign of licensing having been figured out and we could see a classics MvC collection for consoles down the road. Regretting every day not buying 2 on PS3 when it was available, but still ain't planning to get a 600 banger arcade cabinet.

Re: Sony to Take Action as PS5, PS4 Owners Play Less Than Anticipated

DrClayman

Speaking just for myself, I've not bought a day 1 exclusive since the PS5 launched, refuse to pay £70, so I'll either do it if I've got gift vouchers etc lying around from Christmas/birthdays, or wait for a sale. Hell, even with sales they're often sitting above £50, which is ridiculous sometimes. There's games like Returnal and Sackboy that I would have gone for, but because of that I still haven't done so.

Again, I'm just speaking for myself, but can't imagine I'm the only one.

Re: Massive Street Fighter 6 Leaks Acknowledged by Capcom

DrClayman

I feel for Capcom, and for people who didn't want to be spoiled but were anyway because it was all over the place. Personally I don't mind that much knowing the full roster in advance, I actively searched for the leak when I heard it was out there.

That being said, I think what's been leaked looks sick as hell. Love the design, the choices, the number of fighters (if this is base roster). I think it's done more good than bad, luckily.

Re: Street Fighter 6 PS5, PS4 Introduces More Accessible Controls for Newcomers

DrClayman

Yeah, don't mind that being there. IMO the new control scheme will have you at a disadvantage at even low-to-mid level play (3 less normals, basic combos), but hopefully as you mention, it works as a gateway for folk. If you've not played before and get a taste because of the easier controls, and then you want to delve more seriously into it, it still brings new people in. Everybody wins.
