Re: Ex-PlayStation Exec Shawn Layden Says There's Been a 'Collapse' in Gaming Creativity

EYEBALL

Its baffling that they don't try to absorb some of the mobile market by developing/publishing lower tier games that don't have high end graphics but a good amount of money is put into it that leads to good creativity and designs instead of pumping hundreds of millions in to lets say concord, Nintendo do good in that regard.

I would happily take games today (like Sly Cooper for example) that have the graphics quality of the ps2 hardware that would make them look better then most mobile games.

So on that note, games with photo realistic graphics don't appreciate and age well (basically living another life after work) compared to a game that you can just turn and hop on like Pac-Man & Tetris and have fun.

Re: PS5 30th Anniversary Orders Screwed Up by Argos in the UK

EYEBALL

Have they updated their website to have a stock updater yet because i remember when there was scalpers galore a few years ago when the ps5 or the Xbox was really hard to get and if you checked to see if they had any stock on their website it would always say it is in stock compared to every other retailer but it wasn't.

I cant imagine the amount of rigmarole and stress a customer had to deal with back then never mind now.

Re: PS5 Firmware Update Annoys with Unwanted Deluge of Ads, News Feed

EYEBALL

I'm gonna say before it gets fully implemented.......

"Down with intrusive unskippable advertisements that pop up during gameplay"

EA, 2K & Ubisoft have already tried it but I can see it going that way eventually because consoles are not gaming devices anymore, they're entertainment advertising media service devices now.

Adding things like YouTube/Netflix was one nail in the coffin for me.

Re: Palworld's Release in Japan on Hold Indefinitely Thanks to Nintendo Lawsuit

EYEBALL

@DennisReynolds Yeah i agree with you on that one mucker because the last time i kept up with the games it was years ago (after gen 4 i think) and the recent ones do look different compared to the isometric top down games from years ago but with the massive popularity and uproar, when it came out, i can imagine it did rattle their cages and it popped their bubbles for a brief moment that has lead them to start thinking differently but like you and i said, it is a ant and the mind share they have will probably not make much of a difference but a small amount of money could be lost.

Re: God of War Ragnarok PC Review Bombed Over PSN Requirement

EYEBALL

I have seen a screenshot which is the task manger on windows with God of War running with the PSN requirements and the amount of processes it does is insane, I think it runs about 15 instances all at the same time and it uses about 20% of ram or more just for PSN only.

If I had a high tier potato PC I would be annoyed ๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: Vince Zampella Confirms Battlefield Will Return to Modern Setting

EYEBALL

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a modern setting, I thought battlefield 2042 was okay (6/10) so they still have my mind share for a new one, bring it on, but if it turns out crap I'll have to look elsewhere in the future because I cannot deal with Call of Duty these days with all of the sliding, jumping and what not.

Re: Japan Sales Charts: Astro Bot Barely Registers at Retail, PS5 Numbers Plummet After Price Hike

EYEBALL

Getting people, especially children off garbage/addicting games like Fortnite, Roblox and whatever is popular in Japan and eliminating them off the store entirely would lead to Sony earning more money via multiple products but this what you get I suppose which is leading the industry to were it is today by having live service games a priority first and foremost.

Another thing is having things like YouTube on these gaming devices, my friends son, as soon as he gets home from school he instantly goes on YouTube and watches tosh like skibidi toilet but he will go on Roblox, see some random promoted mode then try another, get reward, try another mode and get rewarded until the dopamine addiction pops and then back on YouTube due to the way that game or many others are designed which leads kids to think that nothing else is better which also leads to other games not seeing the light of day like astrobot.

It's like being addicted to drugs, you try it, you want more, you get bored, you stop, a detox/withdrawal happens and then boom back to the square one cycle of not knowing any better but more fool the industry I suppose.

Re: 'PlayStation's Blessed with Marketing Budgets We're Not Able to Enjoy,' Xbox Bigwig Bemoans

EYEBALL

Microsoft are like a rich spoilt child that gets upset because all of the other middle class/poor kids are more interested, more friendly to the poor kids that all share their sub standard toys together so the rich child then goes on a tantrum and starts finding ways to bully them and get them in trouble just to satisfy themselves & feel wanted because they wouldn't give the other a kids a look or a go with their toys ๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: Black Myth: Wukong's Physical Editions Won't Have Actual Discs at Launch, Just Digital Codes

EYEBALL

At this point us gaming enthusiasts are getting conditioned to eventually think that a disc version is a collectors edition and that the releases are limited.

I can imagine developers/publishers will start doing this more often in the long run that will lead us all slowly into a subscription/digital/cloud only gaming future.

With the state of the industry today I appreciate all of my classic/retro games from years ago today more then ever, I play them and get more fun & entertainment out of them then I do with games that get released today ๐Ÿ™ƒ, that's how bad the industry is at the moment in my eyes.
