Re: Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, More Closed in Brutal Bethesda Restructure

Wow!

Re Tango in particular, what a message to send to all those other Japanese game studios that might have been considering partnerships,
"Come closer, come to MS, come closer so I can shut you down."
Shinji Mikami saw it coming alright, I hope all those now-ex Tango guys get invited by him to join his studio and carry on the good work (backed by Sony for the win).

Re: Stellar Blade Difficulty Designed to Be 'Challenging' Yet Approachable

Found the Parry here quite nice to perform, the only other Soulslikes that I've played where I almost mastered it where Wo Long and Bloodborne.
Every other one I usually roll around like a demented drunk (which is still an option in Stellar Blade of course).
Played demo and pre-ordered, I thought it was a great game and a fine distillation of the Souls genre.

Love that video someone made after first time dropping in.

Excellent game, was a bit stand offish when it was released as I haven't bothered with an online MP game for ages.

But the more I read about the world that was being created and of course the positive reviews for the gameplay I thought I'd drop in and don't regret it at all.

Most fun I've had in a shooter for a long time.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About the PS5 Pro?

Futureshark

Well if my PS5 breaks then I'd probably replace it with a pro version, but so far I'm not seeing a need to improve on the base PS5 really.
PS4 pro came out to capitalise on the 4K telly crowd really, and it was a shrewd move, but an iterative update now does not seem to have the same market.
I'll wait for the inevitable PS6 methinks.

Re: Xbox Planning to Release the 'Majority' of Its Exclusives on PS5

Futureshark

Dring quoted other high-level executives who noted a lot of work goes into creating multiple versions of Xbox games, so they scale across both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S hardware profiles. He explained: “You’ve got third-party publishers going, ‘We’re putting in a lot of effort trying to create a Series S version and an X version of a game when, to be honest with you, for us the market is PC and PS5.’”

MS really hamstrung themselves this gen with the split SKU, they should have just released the Series X and undercut Sony by £100 with it.

Xbox will become a software platform the same way as SEGA did and we will see Gears, Halo etc on Playstation in the same way we eventually saw Sonic appearing on Nintendo platforms.

Re: PS Portal Is Proving Everyone's Predictions Wrong

Couldn't get one but have jumped on the handheld bandwagon with the Backbone One on my Pixel phone.

And boy am I happy!
As well as the (PushSquare) recommend app PSPlay allowing me to remote play on my PS5 using 5G aswell as Wifi, I've discovered that Dolphin runs rather well and has allowed me to play all my old Gamecube games on my phone again.
The door to emulation heaven have opened to me, I always dismissed Smartphone games due to a hatred of touchscreen controls, but now my eyes have been opened.

Re: Sony Polls Players on Favourite Games That Aren't Bloodborne

Futureshark

It seems Bloodborne (and The Last Guardian but that was already 60fps before being patched out) is the only PS4 exclusive from Sony now that hasn't had a 60fps patch or remake.
Even Gravity Rush 2 has a PS5 port in the works, probably to coincide with the movie coming.

Imagine though if SONY threw their weight behind a Bloodborne TV series / movie (and did it right like TLOU) that has the potential to be incredible.
