Re: Stellar Blade Download Size Will Respect Your PS5 Storage

Gamer83

Good. Always appreciate when the devs are able to take their time and compress a game. I'm sure the bigger studios are also capable of doing this same thing but when you have a big name game like Horizon or Final Fantasy or Spider-Man, there's going to have to be some cut corners to get the game out in the expected time frame.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Expected to Release Around 2027, Says Square Enix

Gamer83

Sounds about right. Completes the remake series just before the PS5 era ends and with enough time to put together a full remake collection for PS6's day one lineup. Going to be interested to see how Part 3 plays out. Many times the third part of a trilogy is the weakest, imo, but Rebirth was a big step up from Remake so hopefully the conclusion is even better.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Has Sold Around 2 Million Copies, PS5 Player Data Suggests

Gamer83

I won't say the numbers are true but if the game was selling well, SE would be out there bragging about it. I think it's pretty clear it's lagging behind FF XVI, and even that game didn't do phenomenal numbers. Certainly neither helped PS5 hardware sales like Sony would have hoped when it signed up these games as console exclusives. A shame because both are good but it's clear the franchise does not have the appeal it used to.

Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Expansion? Some Players Are Convinced It's Coming

Gamer83

I'm sure there will be an expansion and it's not a big deal as long as it's made well and priced fairly. Capcom is very inconsistent, though. Sometimes they do things right like most of the Resident Evil DLC expansions. Other times they screw it all up like Street Fighter 6 DLC practices which are just disgusting.

Re: Tekken 8 Boss Says Younger Players Prefer Team-Based Games Because They Can Blame Losses on Others

Gamer83

He's half right. I think many people definitely prefer to play on a team so they can put the blame for a loss elsewhere but I don't think it's the age of the person that matters as much as the personality. I know plenty of people in my age bracket (40-45) who are the exact types Harada is talking about. And I know plenty of younger people who enjoy the games where you play individually because they want to prove they're the best.

Re: The Stellar Blade Playable Demo Is Now Available on PS5

Gamer83

Well, fortunately I didn't dislike the combat, in fact, once it clicked, I really enjoyed what I played in this demo, hyped for the final release. I have a feeling I'll lose a few boss battles here and there but the gameplay is fun enough that I'll definitely keep trying to 'get good.'

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About the PS5 Pro?

Gamer83

Same way I did about the PS4 Pro. I likely won't buy it and instead just wait for PS6 but I never rule out anything completely. I'll probably wait to get release and pricing details on Nintendo's next system first but if PS5 Pro is an upgrade worth it, I'll buy that too.

Re: Japan Sales Charts: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PS5 Sales Slip 91% at Retail

Gamer83

I could be wrong but seems to me people are looking too deep into this when it really just comes down to, for whatever reason, both PlayStation and Final Fantasy have lost popularity in Japan. My guess as far as the latter is the move more towards action gameplay hasn't done FF any favors in its home market. Personally, I've never been more into Final Fantasy than I am now, I'm a big fan of XVI in large part because of its combat but in going after people like me, they clearly alienated long-time fans.

Re: Stellar Blade Dev Shift Up to Secure the Bag As It Plots Public Shares

Gamer83

@Optimus
Absolutely correct. But having 'fanservice' outfits in games doesn't hurt them either, doesn't stop people from crying about that and unfortunately devs listen. Shift Up seemed to be one that bucked the recent trend but going public means there is a good chance their future games get toned down. I don't blame people who like them for being disappointed about that.

Re: Exclusivity Is the Achilles' Heel of Huge Blockbusters, Says Former PlayStation Exec

Gamer83

I'll always believe in exclusives, heck even the streaming tv services have exclusive shows to entice you to subscribe, but I try to look at things from all perspectives as well. I'd love to see Sony and MS keep their first party games (with the exception of multiplayer-focused releases) tied to their respective consoles but if the $ aren't adding up, businesses will change course.
