With all the terrigen stuff in the story I'm kinda hoping for Black Bolt to be one of the DLC heroes. I just hope it's someone slightly unexpected because so far all but Ms. Marvel are pretty much standard fare.
Interested in Crystal Chronicles, Captain Tsubasa and Wasteland 3 but I'll probably just opt for one of them at launch. Haven't decided which yet but leaning towards anime football.
Thank God. I've just had to return a controller for repair/replacement because after just 9 months the drift on the right stick had become almost unplayable in some games. I'm currently using an old controller and it's causing the aptly named Ghost to literally walk on his own. Considering how bad the DS4 is for stick drift, more games should allow you to alter the deadzone.
Isn't that headline is a little misleading. It makes it sound like all of the Hitman 2 servers are going offline and if that was the case, anyone who has played while connected to the servers would have their save basically made useless. If its just the MP aspect of the game, fine, but saying "Hitman 2 servers to close" gave me a bit of a fright.
@LiamCroft So in other words devs/publishers can even use a loophole to get around MS. I'm not a huge fan of Control but it sets a dangerous precedent for any upcoming GotY versions on both next-gen consoles.
I'm absolutely loving the Avengers beta (despite some game-breaking bugs) so I'll be playing a lot of that. Also carrying on with SAO: Alicization Lycoris and no doubt a bit of Fall Guys to top it all off.
Fortunately this is one of those games that you can enjoy even when you're not winning, because God knows I'll never manage that. Getting through 2-3 rounds each time before jumping straight into another game is still a complete blast.
Primarily it'll probably be SAO: Alicization Lycoris alongside some Ghost of Tsushima and a bit of Fairy Tail. I'd intended to leave Fairy Tail until I was done with SAO but I just couldn't resist starting it
Fortunately for this game, XCOM 2 on PS4 is also a bit of a technical mess but I still had an absolute blast with it. Good review though, I'm glad to see the striking visuals aren't the only good thing about it. I'll no doubt take a punt when I'm done with some of the games I've got on the go.
This sounds like the perfect PS+ title. Like Rocket League before it, it sounds like something that a lot of people would love to try but wouldn't be willing to put down the cash for, especially on release. That and the obvious boost to the player count. This might be a great month for plus.
I say this as a huge fan of the STALKER series but if anyone has played those games surely you'll know that this can be nothing but a blessing in disguise. I mean let's be honest, they weren't the most stable and bug-free games. An eventual PS5 release will probably be the only day one edition that runs well.
I don't really play online. The limit of my online play is FFXIV and some ESO and I can't remember if they require PS+ anyway. The main draw of the service for me is the monthly games, and I wish they'd go back to offering more than just 2.
This is without a doubt one of the most photogenic games I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I'd probably taken a dozen or so screenshots before I even reached the title card.
@Aerodynamic41 That's just it though, since the game claims to have an auto-save system and even says in the tutorials that it saves periodically. However, I died once and it set me back almost 2 hours to the last time I manually saved at one of the save points. The auto-save doesn't even work during exploration or side-quests or anything, it's only noticeably saved during major story events.
To be honest, the awful framerate drops and the input lag hasn't killed my enjoyment of the game but the save system, that's the one thing that's really annoying me.
I didn't know this was a thing but I really need it. For health related reasons my reaction times are beyond awful. Every single time I get into a fight with human enemies I always end up knocked on my back because I can't react quickly enough. Not having the knock back would help I guess but slo-mo is the next best thing.
I hate to say anything against a console because you know, games is games, but I think Microsoft would do well to focus on building a software advantage rather than a hardware one.
To be honest, I didn't even know it had a launch window already announced. Hope the lack of a new window doesn't end up being as ominous as it sounds though because I'm looking forward to a new Tales game.
None of the 4 games I played during May were released during the month but all have stellar soundtracks. Please stand up and take a bow Persona 5 Royal and the Trails of Cold Steel series.
In the case of the CS games I've found myself watching the opening movies over and over because the tracks are just incredible... and the games are pretty damn fantastic as well
Sounds like I'm super close to the end of Trails of Cold Steel so as soon as that's done I'll be doing the only possible thing: jumping straight into the second one. Another huge JRPG, here I come
I've just started the first Cold Steel game and although I was put off by the dated look and feel, I'm really enjoying it. I wonder if I can get through all 3 by the time this releases
I'm really liking the music in Sakura Wars. There seems to be a relatively small selection compared to bigger budget games so there's some repitition, but the tracks themselves are surprisingly enjoyable and memorable.
Besides, apart from Persona 5 Royal, its the only game I've touched since the end of March
@Rob_230 I've been here for the past 15 years and although there have been a few uncomfortable interactions, for the most part you're bang on. Kind of surprised by the opening of this article.
The one single game I've been playing for the past month: Persona 5 Royal. I finished it last week and immediately restarted on NG+. Not ready to let the journey end.
Call me cynical but I can't help thinking that this praise may be from the people who have been playing it all along anyway. I'm trying to be optimistic that it really will improve the game but until I log in myself, I won't get my hopes up.
As it is though, I have too much to be getting on with at the moment. I'll try it when my backlog starts thinning.
Persona 5's soundtrack is still phenomenal - including the new Royal tracks - and I find myself humming along all the time. I'd personally also give an honourable mention to Nioh 2, as it some great music in that game.
More often than not game soundtracks don't really catch my attention and only serve to enhance the overall experience. When the music stands out to me, it has to be something special.
I'm looking forward to playing this at some point but unfortunately with a busy few weeks, some games can't make the cut. Glad to hear it's a worthy successor though.
Isn't this basically the same as any multiplayer game? I mean an online game can be cutesy and colourful and somewhat harmless but there will always be some toxic people playing it. They can't really rate something on the possibility, just the content it includes in the box.
My time is currently divided between levelling up bard in Final Fantasy XIV (level 70 so far), slowly making my way through the incredibly fun Darksiders Genesis, and trying to learn Dreams. There aren't enough hours in the day but I'm enjoying it all.
@get2sammyb I remember back when I subbed to PCGamer, every month they'd do a bit near the back of the mag where they'd select a few of the best mods and whatnot they'd come across that month. It's probably easier when you're working with a monthly mag but maybe a simple weekly or monthly article where some of the Push Square gang write a paragraph or so about a Dream they've discovered. Would be awesome to have some regular recommendations from you guys.

Re: This Week's Gamescom Opening Night Live Will Feature 38 Games, Is Roughly 2 Hours Long

Did it ever have a solid release date? Is it possible that this was the originally planned date they delayed from?

Now I'm curious what the situation is with the Series X version because didn't MS state that all next-gen upgrades have to be free?

Persona 5 Royal closely followed by Nioh 2. Both phenomenal games.

Brilliant series. Just finished playing the 3 games back to back last week. Can't wait for this now because what a cliffhanger.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 329
I've been in a big JRPG mood since Persona 5 Royal. So continuing on from that, and for my seventh JRPG in a row I'm now replaying Tales of Vesperia.

55 mins of my life I'll never get back.

Persona 5 Royal - the superior JRPG
(Don't take that too seriously btw. Not a fan of old FF7 but I still have hopes for the remake, which has been on my shelf, sealed for over a week.)
