I'm a sucker for messing with virtual peoples lives so just The Sims 4 for me right now.
Lego Marvel is on a wait list now after your review and I can't justify full price for an LA Noire remaster when I didn't even finish it first time around. I'd also like to see some reviews for Outcast, because I enjoyed the demo I played of it on PC back in the day but would be nice to know how it holds up now.
Enchantress was in Suicide Squad but you're right, saved yourself some time wasted on that. The Atom on the other hand, he appeared in the Arrow TV show before moving on to the spin off series, Legends of Tomorrow. Honestly though, all you really need to know is that when all is said and done, he's kind of the DC version of Ant-Man.
@ShogunRok Brilliant game and a great remaster. It would be my GotM if remasters are indeed allowed.
Having said that, Shadow of War (act 4 doesn't count, mkay?), South Park and Assassin's Creed have all been fantastic games, even if I haven't quite finished the latter 2. I would also consider GT Sport on its own merits because it is a great racing game. Its just a shame it doesn't live up to the GT name in terms of a career.
35 hours into Assassin's Creed Origins and I've still only discovered probably a third or so of the huge world. No idea how much of the story is left but most of my time has been spent ignoring it, for the most part. Such a massive and fun game.
I'm also playing GT Sport which I had no intention of getting, due to its complete lack of a real career mode. However since I received it for my birthday on Monday I've betrayed my pre-judgement of the game and found myself having a lot of fun. The online racing feels surprisingly relaxed and the campaign, though nowhere near as fleshed out as usual GT games, is actually pretty interesting and addictive.
I gave myself a 3 day early birthday gift in the form of AC Origins so most of my time is going into that. I'm enjoying it so far but I haven't quite lost myself to it yet, like I have with some of the previous entries. That isn't to say I won't completely love it though because I had a similar experience with Shadow of War for the first 10 or so hours, and I ended up having an absolute blast with that (until the fourth act anyway).
If I can tear myself away from AC there are a few other games I've had on the go, like my career in Project CARS 2 and the Halloween events in both ESO and Fortnite. With all that to keep me busy, I'll hopefully be able to forget that my age ticks over on Monday
After "finishing" Shadow of War (sod the grindy as hell fourth act, I'll watch the final cut scene on YT) I'm finally getting stuck in to The Fractured But Whole.
I'm also making my way through the lifetime goals or whatever it's called in my Project CARS 2 career. The driving may not be as polished as GT Sport (judging from the betas anyway) but at least it has an actual, proper single player campaign.
@get2sammyb Exactly the same here. It's a game that has earned a permanent spot on my HD.
Like the article said, it had a bad launch but after all the updates and the incredible amount of season pass content, it's become my favourite racer since Gran Turismo 3.
Just a bit of light BDSM for me this weekend as I carry on dominating my way through Mordor in Shadow of War. If I can find the time I might carry on chasing the plat in Dragon's Dogma as well.
I wasn't a big fan of the "horror" in the first, really wasn't subtle and it just didn't have an effect on me. Combining that with the trend of all recent Bethesda published games means this and Wolfenstein 2 are on my 'wait until after Xmas' list.
If it's a game that receives alot of free or regular updates post-launch or requires devs to often maintain servers, then I really don't mind microtransactions and I'll even sometimes purchase them (games like ESO, Overwatch and the like). However, they really have no right being in games with a mostly singleplayer aspect like Shadow of War. It just seems like an artificial way of squeezing extra money out of customers on top of the often bloated DLC/season pass costs.
My copy of Dragon's Dogma for PS4 arrived this morning which has made me intensely happy, so my weekend will be dedicated to playing through this incredible game for the 20 millionth time
This is ridiculous. I mean GR was always more of a cult classic rather than a commercial success so coupled with the fact that's its a more singleplayer orientated game, I can't imagine it's because the playerbase is lower than expected. I still haven't finished the game though so I hope they decide to unlock all the costumes for all players once the servers are gone.
Next thing you know we'll be hearing that the new Everybodys Golf servers will be turned off within 6 months of release.
I got back into Yakuza 0 the other day when my Internet was down for a whole night and it's sucked me right back in. That will be my main time sink this weekend, probably along with some Destiny 2 (logged in yesterday to find myself inexplicably no longer a member of the Push Square clan) and Fortnite.
I want to start FFIX but I've decided to save it until I'm not as involved with other games, so I can give it the time such a masterpiece deserves.
Yes, about time! One of the best games ever made and definitely the best FF. If it does launch tomorrow my Destiny 2 char is going to be stuck on level 16 for a while
I'd be incredibly surprised if it never happens but I do expect it to be on a similar timetable as the original. PC first is no surprise considering the genre and the fact that they were kickstarted as PC games. Also if there's enough of a market for not only the original but also Wasteland 2, Tides of Numenera and Pillars of Eternity, surely it'd be a bad move to not port it eventually.
This comes as absolutely no surprise. I loved the game but unfortunately nothing could stop the inevitable Battleborn vs Overwatch comparisons, despite being very different games under the surface. I really enjoyed it at launch but without the population to really support it, it was never going to be a longterm contender.
At this point, after 3 failures (Colonial Marines, Duke Nukem and this), are Gearbox anything more than just the Borderlands series?
With the house move 100% over, keys for the old place handed over etc, I can finally relax and get into Destiny 2 properly. I finally finished the last mission of Knack 2 last night, having left it incomplete for a week. I'd also like to jump into the Imperial City DLC for ESO in an attempt to catch the last 2 days of the anniversary event.
Knack 2 at 12 is a disappointment. Sure the first game wasn't brilliant (though I enjoyed it) but the new one is in a completely different league. It's one of the only games this year that I've really had the urge to just binge until I'd finished it. Unfortunately the negative reaction to the original has hit the sequel, and I've seen quite a few people calling it out as a bad game purely based on the originals reputation.
Since the new house is still without internet, my weekend will be consumed by Knack 2 and probably some Xcom 2. I kinda want to play more Pillars of Eternity but my stress levels are still through the roof after last week's move, and every time I try to play it I just end up frustrated at my inability to sit through all the text. Will have to wait until everything's sorted and calmed down.
Bought it but no idea if I like it since the new house is without Internet until late next week. My LE is sitting here, taunting me. Ah well, I have Knack 2 to satisfy my offline gaming needs
Really want to play more Pillars of Eternity but moving house tomorrow so I'll probably only be able to fit a round or 2 of Everybody's Golf. Need to lower them stress levels and an awesomely fun golf game is the answer. Obviously.
I've actually been looking forward to hearing of a PS4 release. Having said that though, my purchase will depend on how much they retail it for. It is a year old game after all and the bonus content doesn't seem to be all that great beyond extra costumes. We'll see at the time.
I got Naruto UNS Legacy yesterday and my copy of Everybody's Golf arrived this morning so my weekend will be filled with those 2. All depends how much I can play though since I'm moving house next Sunday. I hate the stress of moving so I really hope EG is as fun as it should be - I need the stress relief.
There'll be no concrete info on a PS4 version until long after the XB1 is released. I mean think about it, MS will want people to at least think that their console is the only one the game will be available for. Some people may even buy an XB1 because of it. If there's any confirmation that it will indeed be released on PS4 later, it could potentially harm XB1 sales. Especially since it's a team game and alot of its players will want it on the same console as their friends.
Playing through Agents of Mayhem. I've been loving the game but seem to be stuck in an endless loop of LEGION lairs at the moment. Hopefully it'll get back to the more interesting and funny missions soon. Though having said that, switching up the characters has been a huge source of fun even through this bout of repetitive content.
On top of that I've also been jumping back into Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and since I got XCOM 2 DLC in the new PSN sale I'll probably make the most of the excuse to start over.
I'll be making my through more Shadow Tactics while I continue trying to break through the high learning curve of Lawbreakers. Incredibly fun game but boy do I suck. I may also jump into Ghost Recon Wildlands for a bit as I work my way through the final few provinces, time dependant of course.
I preordered after really enjoying the beta but I'm starting to realise that it's such an inaccessible game with a matchmaking system that makes no attempt to place you with players of a similar skill level. On day one I was having a lot of fun and was able to hold my own but even now, just 3 days after release, I'm finding myself put up against players who I stand no chance against. The really skillful players have shot up in terms of ability whereas me, someone who has never been great (though not necessarily completely awful) at shooters, is getting slaughtered more and more easily.
Come the end of the week I'll probably barely be able to step outside spawn.
@get2sammyb The only Telltale series I bought before all episodes had been released, and this very fact has me thinking that waiting for the entire package is probably the safest bet. Never expected to hear that buying the entire season up front could leave you without the whole product.
No spoiling if obviously but did you actually reach that point during your review? Do you have first hand experience of what happens if the rot does reach Senua's head?

Assassin's Creed Origins and to battle a bit of a bad week in terms of my depression, I'm playing through Mass Effect for like the 10,000th time.

Online games, online games, online games. It's almost like every part of the world has a constant, perfect internet connection... oh wait...

Re: UK Sales Charts: Assassin's Creed Origins Kicks Super Mario Odyssey into the Sand
Sadly the fact that Bethesda published games have shown a tendency of being discounted soon after release must have hit Wolfenstein.

Dragon's Dogma. One of my fave games now on PS4 and I won't stop until that plat is mine again

Nice to see this. I guess this is the one preorder I won't be cancelling this month. Not that it was ever in doubt, considering how much I adored SoM.

Well then, I guess I won't buy it until a complete edition drops at a price lower than SFV DLC.

Dragon's Dogma is all I need until I plat it again. Happy to see some Dark Arisen trophies, which the PS3 version never got.
