Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 274

Warhammer Chaosbane for me. I stumped up a little extra for the 4 days early access and I'm having a whale of a time. Chose to play Bragi Axebiter first (Dwarf Slayer) and he's so much fun. The game is a little rough around the edges in some places but hey, wasn't Diablo 3 at first?

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of RAGE 2?

Gatatog

Though I hate to admit it, I am very disappointed. I was really looking forward to it and the gameplay they showed at last years E3 made it one of my games of the show but the final product is full of disappointment. The combat is awesome and a lot of fun but everything else is tedium incarnate. The world, the driving, the characters and what I've seen of the story so far have been some of the most uninteresting in a game this year at least.

If you didn't have to spend ages driving to get to the next combat scenario, I wouldn't mind so much, but there's so much of it and it's boring as hell.

Re: Game of the Month: Best PS4 Games of April 2019

Gatatog

I honestly can't remember most of what I played in April but the best game of the month for me was Days Gone, by a long shot. Probably one of my big surprises of the year if I'm honest, considering I had little hype for it. I think it's a truly great game, despite what most of the reviews say.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Days Gone? And Are You Enjoying It?

Gatatog

I think with it being a first party/exclusive title, there was a lot expected, especially after the likes of God of War, Spider-Man, TLoU, Bloodborne etc. However, as someone who actually never bought into the hype around Days Gone I've found myself pleasantly surprised.

It's not perfect and it's certainly buggy (the first 2 days had me restarting the game over and over because all audio besides Deacon's voice track kept cutting out), but there's something compelling about it too. I also kinda like Deacon. He seems like quite a shallow and selfish character at first but I think there's more to him.

Re: Insiders Claim That Next Xbox Is More Advanced Than PS5

Gatatog

I honestly couldn't care less which is more powerful or can provide the best resolution etc. Put simply I'll go where the games are, which this gen has been Sony by far. If Xbox can show off some better exclusives before the consoles release (ones that won't end up canceled anyway) then I'll consider changing, but it won't be for the promise of better graphics.

Re: Poll: One Year Old Today, Have Your Thoughts on God of War Changed?

Gatatog

I played through it entirely at release and thought it was one of the best videogame experiences I've ever had. I haven't replayed it fully yet but a couple of months ago I did go through it up to and including the first fight against the Stranger (one of the best fights ever), and its still just as phenomenal as it was a year ago.

My opinion of the older titles was never that high so to think that a GoW game rates this highly for me is such a surprise. Its just that brilliant.

Re: My Time At Portia - A Delightful Post-Apocalyptic Life Sim

Gatatog

Took a punt on this after enjoying some YT vids a few months ago. Not a fan of Stardew Valley and the like but I played 7 hours of this just yesterday. After the weekend I've just had to deal with, I really needed something relaxing to play and this has proven perfect so far. The loading screens are a little long and there are some annoying frame drops but still enjoying it.

@ztpayne7 I don't know where you are but on UK PSN it's £24.99, with retail stores selling for around £21. My preorder was £20.95 anyway.

@Mgene15 The guys here did a review https://www.pushsquare.com/reviews/ps4/borderlands_game_of_the_year_edition

Give that a read and see what you think because personally I think it depends how much you enjoyed it first time. The remaster has a lot of Borderlands 2's quality of life changes and generally improves the gameplay experience, but in terms of content (from what I've seen so far) its pretty much the same game as back in 2009. If you never played the DLC though, it does include all of that, which was all a lot of fun even in the original release.

Re: Poll: Have You Bought The Division 2?

Gatatog

I've bought it and I'm enjoying it but I'm going to save my true opinions for when I reach the endgame. These games live and die on how much time you can put into them beyond the main campaign and games like Anthem have burned me. We shall see.

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Microtransactions Are Live on PS4

Gatatog

They did the same kind of microtransactions for the DMC4 release on PS4, and that's a game that was never developed with them in mind. For that reason I doubt I have any reason to worry and have no intention of buying any. Let's face it, considering how much time I'll probably spend with the game, I'm most likely going to end up with more red orbs than I could ever use.

Re: Devil May Cry 5 - Devil May Cry Back to Its Absolute Best

Gatatog

So happy to read this and know it's living up to hype. I've spent so much time with the series since playing the first game's demo, packaged with RE Code Veronica. Even the second game, which wasn't brilliant, I played the hell out of. Can't wait to add God knows how many more hours to the many hundreds I've already spent with this series.
