If Sony heard the backlash over PES, where's their reaction to people being unhappy with the general quality and value for money of PS+? I mean I can't be the only one, right?
Pretty low on my most wanted list if I'm completely honest and I still have no idea why. Loved the first but for some reason I just cannot get excited for this.
I love how they said something along the lines of "year 1 was about players entering the world, year 2 is about people coming back", like they were planning this all along.
This weekend it's all about ESO for me. Loving the new Necromancer class and really looking forward to visiting Elsweyr once I've got a few more levels under my belt.
The Evil Within 2 is without a doubt my #1 underrated and overlooked game of this gen. After the first I didn't expect to ever play it but I'm so glad I did. Just a brilliant survival horror.
Warhammer Chaosbane for me. I stumped up a little extra for the 4 days early access and I'm having a whale of a time. Chose to play Bragi Axebiter first (Dwarf Slayer) and he's so much fun. The game is a little rough around the edges in some places but hey, wasn't Diablo 3 at first?
At this point we don't need a tease or hint because this long after announcing it, it's about bloody time they actually told us something about the game. Announcing games so long before you're ready to even offer details is just ridiculous.
Though I hate to admit it, I am very disappointed. I was really looking forward to it and the gameplay they showed at last years E3 made it one of my games of the show but the final product is full of disappointment. The combat is awesome and a lot of fun but everything else is tedium incarnate. The world, the driving, the characters and what I've seen of the story so far have been some of the most uninteresting in a game this year at least.
If you didn't have to spend ages driving to get to the next combat scenario, I wouldn't mind so much, but there's so much of it and it's boring as hell.
I honestly can't remember most of what I played in April but the best game of the month for me was Days Gone, by a long shot. Probably one of my big surprises of the year if I'm honest, considering I had little hype for it. I think it's a truly great game, despite what most of the reviews say.
I think with it being a first party/exclusive title, there was a lot expected, especially after the likes of God of War, Spider-Man, TLoU, Bloodborne etc. However, as someone who actually never bought into the hype around Days Gone I've found myself pleasantly surprised.
It's not perfect and it's certainly buggy (the first 2 days had me restarting the game over and over because all audio besides Deacon's voice track kept cutting out), but there's something compelling about it too. I also kinda like Deacon. He seems like quite a shallow and selfish character at first but I think there's more to him.
I honestly couldn't care less which is more powerful or can provide the best resolution etc. Put simply I'll go where the games are, which this gen has been Sony by far. If Xbox can show off some better exclusives before the consoles release (ones that won't end up canceled anyway) then I'll consider changing, but it won't be for the promise of better graphics.
I played through it entirely at release and thought it was one of the best videogame experiences I've ever had. I haven't replayed it fully yet but a couple of months ago I did go through it up to and including the first fight against the Stranger (one of the best fights ever), and its still just as phenomenal as it was a year ago.
My opinion of the older titles was never that high so to think that a GoW game rates this highly for me is such a surprise. Its just that brilliant.
Took a punt on this after enjoying some YT vids a few months ago. Not a fan of Stardew Valley and the like but I played 7 hours of this just yesterday. After the weekend I've just had to deal with, I really needed something relaxing to play and this has proven perfect so far. The loading screens are a little long and there are some annoying frame drops but still enjoying it.
@ztpayne7 I don't know where you are but on UK PSN it's £24.99, with retail stores selling for around £21. My preorder was £20.95 anyway.
Give that a read and see what you think because personally I think it depends how much you enjoyed it first time. The remaster has a lot of Borderlands 2's quality of life changes and generally improves the gameplay experience, but in terms of content (from what I've seen so far) its pretty much the same game as back in 2009. If you never played the DLC though, it does include all of that, which was all a lot of fun even in the original release.
Days Gone is obviously the big one this month but I'll no doubt also get Borderlands. Huge fan of that series and I'm looking forward to replaying the original.
I'm not even close to being ready for this. Still in World Tier 1. Levelling a new character on WoW and the newly released Path of Exile are helping me make this game really last
Is it just me who absolutely detests that bar behind the game/app/folder name? So many themes have it and if it's as dark as the one on this I just can't use it. Ruins the look of a theme for me.
I'd be willing to bet that this and only this is that thing Gearbox have been teasing. At this point I'm beginning to wonder if Borderlands 3 will ever happen.
I ... wondered what was happening to my turret. I just assumed the many enemies could destroy it while it was deploying but this makes much more sense.
I've bought it and I'm enjoying it but I'm going to save my true opinions for when I reach the endgame. These games live and die on how much time you can put into them beyond the main campaign and games like Anthem have burned me. We shall see.
Well... to say this is disappointing would be an understatement. Ah well, we still have Pirate Warriors 3 and, to a lesser degree, Unlimited World Red.
I had this when I played at midnight. I was barely an hour in when I started getting serious, unplayable levels of stuttering. Never encountered it in the beta (though a fair few apparently did) but in the full release I get it almost immediately. If I have to restart the game every hour, its just a joke.
@ShogunRok Mate, I love you! I was just about to moan about being in the UK and then I read your comment, like a light in the darkness, reminding me that I'm a big doofus who forgot he had a US account as well.
The Dark Zone trophies are literally the only thing that stopped me getting the first game's plat, so this will probably end up being another high % no plat game.
They did the same kind of microtransactions for the DMC4 release on PS4, and that's a game that was never developed with them in mind. For that reason I doubt I have any reason to worry and have no intention of buying any. Let's face it, considering how much time I'll probably spend with the game, I'm most likely going to end up with more red orbs than I could ever use.
I don't think I've ever bought anything from the flash sales but I'm glad to see them become a regular thing in EU now. Used to look at the NA ones and think it was ridiculous we didn't get anything similar.
So happy to read this and know it's living up to hype. I've spent so much time with the series since playing the first game's demo, packaged with RE Code Veronica. Even the second game, which wasn't brilliant, I played the hell out of. Can't wait to add God knows how many more hours to the many hundreds I've already spent with this series.
I bought the Gold Edition on release but I'm still making my way through the main game, nevermind any DLC. I have done a couple of the free post-launch quests but that's it. 65 hours in and still a long way to go if the maps anything to go by. Doesn't help that RDR2 really distracted me less than a month after this released.

Final Fantasy XIV and Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise. The latter is awesome in how OTT it is.

Division 2 and WoW for me I think.
