This just broke my heart. What did they do? I loved BG&E and this new game is filth, with the cursing and the provocative dress. There was none of that in the last game. What possesed them to go this route? I'm am crushed.
I have this pre-ordered. I LOVED Skyrim on my 360 and I'm stoked to play it on my PS4. My only prayer is (that it doesn't have too many bugs obviously) that the load times are quicker.
Of course it shouldn't. That way, 3 years from now, after they take people's $$$ on the latest and greatest gaming console, they'll announce the PS4 PRO+ with UHD Blu-ray player as another console to sit next to your $399 PS4 and $399 PS4 PRO. For only $399
The only saving grace for me was when they announced all PS4 will have HDR added. Makes me a little less irked they released a brand new console so soon. And yes, it's a new console. Better graphics, bigger hard drive, "different" gameing experience. Just the name is the same.
Oooohhhh I'm still salty they created a new, has better graphics, PS4 so soon. I bought my PS4 expecting a 10 year life cycle. I feel like the timing on a slim version is perfect right now. That doesn't even bother me one bit. But this Neo just burns my biscuits. I wish this "Neo" was not only a stand alone console, but also an add-on that I could plug and play on my current PS4.
They should have just made a Burnout Paradise 2. SMH If they just would have done that, the Gaming gods would have smiled down upon them and blessed their efforts.
Their not fooling me. It's a brand new console! Better graphics, better hardware, probably better storage. It's a PS5. I feel this came WAAAAY too soon after the PS4 launch. I feel cheated.
I have hopes that it will run good because i think, and correct me if I'm wrong, the PS3 was a difficult hardware to port to...or something like that. The PS4 is supposed to be more game-designer friendly?
All this talk about PS4K is tainting these games for me. Because now I'm asking myself "Self, does it look that good because it's that good? Or does it look that good because it's on a new, more expensive console?"
I like roller coasters in real life...but this emotional gaming roller coaster is making me woozy. I'd be so happy if this "Neo" was just an add on (like when he says it sits alongside) but not if it's more expensive then what I've already invested in my PS4... @_@
I'm definitely getting this. Loved it on my 360 and I know that Bethesda isn't going to put out a new ES any time soon since Fallout 4 released not too long ago. And, as I mentioned before, this will ease the pain of Horizon: Zero Dawn being delayed.
I was really hurt by them (possibly) coming out with a new version so dang fast. I saved up for a long time to get my PS4 just to have them turn around and make a better one just a year later. Usually they'll come out with a slim version or bigger storage, but to make a version that's basically a new console just disappoints me.
I feel really bad for the people who were looking forward to this game. I hope it lives up to their expectations, with all it's delays and what-not. I cringed when they insulted anime fans. Probably not a good idea to insult a, I'm guessing, big part of your fan base.
The only thing I want to hear is "Horizon: Zero Dawn is coming out in 2016". That will make my Sony E3. But... if they did announce Half Life 3 I would lose my mind. I mean, run around my neighborhood screaming and tearing my shirt off, kind of mind lose.

I wouldn't mind more of them as long as they are 3D platform games. Nintendo has flooded the market with 2D side scrollers, I'd like to see a return of the Mario 64 style games.
This is a fair review and accurately details the game. I pre-ordered it for a few reasons. One, the art style was cool and it was not turn-based combat (which 'i'm terrible at). Also it was on sale for like $11, so worth the "risk". I wasn't in love with it at first, but once I say the end portion and flipped back to the beginning it sank in and I started to enjoy it. It does have it's flaws, but I'm sure a patch will take care of that. All in all this is the type of indie game I'm OK with.
It gave off a VERY Kingdom Hearts feel in the battle system and environments...except more stiff and clumsy. I played it, beat it and don't need it. I'd be interested to hear what FF fans thought of it.
I'm 99% sure I won't buy this BUT I think that price is more then fair. Just because it's indie doesn't mean the price should be set at >$20. I think this harkens back to the Broforce topic of "why ANOTHER pixel art 2D indie game". Games like that, that are less then original copy and pastes of any of the 100 other indie 2D pixel art games out there, wouldn't be worth more than $20 IMO (like I said before, not taking anything away from their efforts). This game is vast, original for the most part, and is breaking a lot of molds so I can see why it's $60. That doesn't shock me.
I don't want to take away ANYTHING from the hard working people at indie studios. And I'll start out by saying they can do more amazing gaming design and such then I ever will...
But the moment Xbox and PlayStation were like "We love and embrace indie developers this gen.!" I knew immediately the market would get flooded with these pixel style games. Again, way better then anything I could ever do, but to me there are just too many of that style of indie game. Now games like Octodad are ground breaking, original and creative so I'd love for indie studios to head more in that direction.
@RaymanFan2 Good call on the game engine and lighting. That does make since. Where I see the Bloodborne influence is in a few of the enemy's looks and movements and the architecture. Has anyone had a hands on by chance that's played Bloodborne and DS?
I love the Dark Souls series. I'm not good at it, but love the lore / feel of it. On the other hand I'm a HUGE Bloodborne fan and I'm actually decent at it. Played it through to get all 3 endings. Now, when watching all these trailers, I keep seeing so much Bloodborne vibe going on I'm wondering if this will play like a BloodSouls hybrid or something.
Deep down I'm kind of disappointed, but even deeper down I don't get excited for games I haven't seen actual game play of. I wonder if this was going to try and be a Dark Souls type game or a Skyrim type game We'll just have to dig deep down and be patient.
I still feel this ALL goes back to when they first announced the X1. All that "You have to be online 24/7! You have to have a Kinect!" nonsense that they eventually back peddled on (because it was stupid). That put a bad taste in my mouth which is why I jumped to PS. I think Playstation has made good-ish moves from day 1 by being more focused on the gamer and less on the "all-in-one" pizazz.
I am so stoked for this game. I'm fairly picky about the games I buy now-a-days but this will definitely be a pre-order for me. I can not wait. I think the fact that it's post-post apocalyptic shows that they are thinking outside the box. Please be released in 2016 ray:
@kyleforrester87 I agree it is an odd problem, but we live in a day and age where game companies rely on patches so they can get a product out quicker. It's sad, but it's true. But my heart, mind and soul basically expected it so I took all the "hick-ups" with a grain of salt.
@get2sammyb Your score and review (8/10) is spot on.
I got this game day one and it really is crazy fun. Yes, the frame rate drops from time to time (meh) but the biggest issue, as stated by everyone and their mother, is the load times. You can do these extra challenges to earn gears to unlock mods, but you can also fail those challenges in seconds. Which wouldn't be soooooo bad if you didn't have to wait 30 to 45 seconds to try again... and fail again in 3 seconds... and wait 30 to 45 more seconds to try again.
Once that's been fixed then I think this will be solid. Very glad I got it and would recommend it to anyone post-patch.
