Re: Poll: Should the PS4 Pro Have a UHD Blu-ray Player?

JMills

Of course it shouldn't. That way, 3 years from now, after they take people's $$$ on the latest and greatest gaming console, they'll announce the PS4 PRO+ with UHD Blu-ray player as another console to sit next to your $399 PS4 and $399 PS4 PRO. For only $399

Re: Poll: Take the Push Square PlayStation Meeting 2016 Community Quiz

Oooohhhh I'm still salty they created a new, has better graphics, PS4 so soon. I bought my PS4 expecting a 10 year life cycle. I feel like the timing on a slim version is perfect right now. That doesn't even bother me one bit. But this Neo just burns my biscuits. I wish this "Neo" was not only a stand alone console, but also an add-on that I could plug and play on my current PS4.

Re: Sony Confirms 'High-End' PS4K Exists, Won't Be at E3

JMills

I like roller coasters in real life...but this emotional gaming roller coaster is making me woozy. I'd be so happy if this "Neo" was just an add on (like when he says it sits alongside) but not if it's more expensive then what I've already invested in my PS4... @_@

Re: Talking Point: PlayStation 4K - Are You In or Out?

JMills

I was really hurt by them (possibly) coming out with a new version so dang fast. I saved up for a long time to get my PS4 just to have them turn around and make a better one just a year later. Usually they'll come out with a slim version or bigger storage, but to make a version that's basically a new console just disappoints me.

Re: Behold the Mighty No.9 Trailer People Are Tearing to Bits

JMills

I feel really bad for the people who were looking forward to this game. I hope it lives up to their expectations, with all it's delays and what-not. I cringed when they insulted anime fans. Probably not a good idea to insult a, I'm guessing, big part of your fan base.

Re: Review: Stories: The Path of Destinies (PS4)

JMills

This is a fair review and accurately details the game. I pre-ordered it for a few reasons. One, the art style was cool and it was not turn-based combat (which 'i'm terrible at). Also it was on sale for like $11, so worth the "risk". I wasn't in love with it at first, but once I say the end portion and flipped back to the beginning it sank in and I started to enjoy it. It does have it's flaws, but I'm sure a patch will take care of that. All in all this is the type of indie game I'm OK with.

Re: No Man's Sky Will Carry An Intergalactic Entry Fee on PS4

JMills

I'm 99% sure I won't buy this BUT I think that price is more then fair. Just because it's indie doesn't mean the price should be set at >$20. I think this harkens back to the Broforce topic of "why ANOTHER pixel art 2D indie game". Games like that, that are less then original copy and pastes of any of the 100 other indie 2D pixel art games out there, wouldn't be worth more than $20 IMO (like I said before, not taking anything away from their efforts). This game is vast, original for the most part, and is breaking a lot of molds so I can see why it's $60. That doesn't shock me.

Re: PS4 Fans Are So Mad at PlayStation Plus They're Making Parodies

JMills

I don't want to take away ANYTHING from the hard working people at indie studios. And I'll start out by saying they can do more amazing gaming design and such then I ever will...

But the moment Xbox and PlayStation were like "We love and embrace indie developers this gen.!" I knew immediately the market would get flooded with these pixel style games. Again, way better then anything I could ever do, but to me there are just too many of that style of indie game. Now games like Octodad are ground breaking, original and creative so I'd love for indie studios to head more in that direction.

Re: Dark Souls III PS4 Trailer Keeps the Hype Train Moving

@RaymanFan2
Good call on the game engine and lighting. That does make since. Where I see the Bloodborne influence is in a few of the enemy's looks and movements and the architecture. Has anyone had a hands on by chance that's played Bloodborne and DS?

Re: Dark Souls III PS4 Trailer Keeps the Hype Train Moving

JMills

I love the Dark Souls series. I'm not good at it, but love the lore / feel of it. On the other hand I'm a HUGE Bloodborne fan and I'm actually decent at it. Played it through to get all 3 endings. Now, when watching all these trailers, I keep seeing so much Bloodborne vibe going on I'm wondering if this will play like a BloodSouls hybrid or something.

Re: Yep, PS4 Is Wrecking the Competition in France, Too

JMills

I still feel this ALL goes back to when they first announced the X1. All that "You have to be online 24/7! You have to have a Kinect!" nonsense that they eventually back peddled on (because it was stupid). That put a bad taste in my mouth which is why I jumped to PS. I think Playstation has made good-ish moves from day 1 by being more focused on the gamer and less on the "all-in-one" pizazz.

Re: Review: Just Cause 3 (PS4)

JMills

@kyleforrester87 I agree it is an odd problem, but we live in a day and age where game companies rely on patches so they can get a product out quicker. It's sad, but it's true. But my heart, mind and soul basically expected it so I took all the "hick-ups" with a grain of salt.

@get2sammyb Your score and review (8/10) is spot on.

Re: Review: Just Cause 3 (PS4)

JMills

I got this game day one and it really is crazy fun. Yes, the frame rate drops from time to time (meh) but the biggest issue, as stated by everyone and their mother, is the load times. You can do these extra challenges to earn gears to unlock mods, but you can also fail those challenges in seconds. Which wouldn't be soooooo bad if you didn't have to wait 30 to 45 seconds to try again... and fail again in 3 seconds... and wait 30 to 45 more seconds to try again.

Once that's been fixed then I think this will be solid. Very glad I got it and would recommend it to anyone post-patch.
