Pretty good list. A lot of great games. I wouldn't have Dragon's Dogma in the list but I know I'm in the minority and a lot of cΜΆrΜΆaΜΆzΜΆy people enjoy it
I've been going full retro recently so I'll be playing Pokemon Pinball and Pokemon Crystal on the Game Boy Color. Also picked up Professor Layton and the Lost Future and Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword on the DS. As for PlayStation I may continue the ever-bizarre Final Fantasy 8 or start Alone in the Dark (2001). Happy weekend all and of course - it's coming home β½οΈ π
Who cares if 1 million seems "low". The only thing that matters is if the devs are happy with it, and if the franchise can continue. And it sounds to me like they're very happy with it and it WILL continue. Not every company is Square Enix, they probably budgeted properly
GAME are terrible to be honest, for many reasons. But I don't look forward to them closing as they're literally the only competition to CEX (as mentioned in the article). Amazon are taking the p*** these days too with their Β£35 minimum spend for "free" delivery.
I'm on disc 2 of Final Fantasy VIII. So I'll be playing more of that. It's an odd game, definitely flawed and I can see why it's divisive, but I'm still enjoying it. You can't go wrong with any PS1 Final Fantasy really. Also playing a bit of Valkyria Chronicles 2 on the Vita, which has been a lot of fun so far and looks great for an old PSP game. Happy gaming all π
Give it another 6 months - 1 year and this will be one of those games that everyone claims is an "underrated gem". Glad to hear it did well, although I wouldn't say no to a Nioh 3.
Is the 3 months timed exclusivity of Stalker 2 not considered "slimy", Phil? This is just another way for MS to try and brand themselves as the good guys for buying the industry's biggest publisher.
@JPEGMakima it's not really "I won't enjoy this anymore" unless you're the top 1% of trophy hunters that literally play anything and everything for trophies. Its more of a case of "I like trophies, why does one of the biggest releases of the year not have any?". There is no reason to not add them when those who like them can collect them, and those who don't can ignore them π€·ββοΈ
@JPEGMakima Plenty of people. There are entire communities like PStrophies and PSNprofiles dedicated to it. No reason to alienate them when adding trophies is so easy
People will scoff at those who like trophies like they usually do, but this is actually crazy. What an odd choice. They're throwing potential sales away for no reason.
@Mintie it's brutal so far but it's kind of nice having to re-build my party rather than brute forcing my way through. The game + all DLC was Β£3.50 on the most recent sale which is just crazy good value even with the games faults
I picked up the Dragon Age Inquisition DLC in the sale because I've been eying it up for years. So far it's kicking my ass but it's fun and I'm determined to beat it. Also I'm considering starting Key of Heaven, which is an obscure PSP action-RPG and Sonic Colours on DS. So quite a random bunch of games for me again π
I'm in a very rare "story game" mood, so I finally got round to starting the 4th season of The Walking Dead. I forgot how good these games actually are. I also picked up The Last Campfire for dirt cheap in the PSN sale and have been enjoying that too. Enjoy your weekends everyone π
I'm not the target audience for this, I like to play actual games, not "services". But the truth is for like the past 8 years everyone has been chasing the live-service jackpot. Games like this are a dime-a-dozen and they all start to blend together. The actual core-gameplay doesn't look too bad to be fair, at least Sony were smart enough to not make a battle royale π
I didn't think it was so bad. Astro Bot looked awesome and there were a couple of Eastern action games (Japanese/Korean?) that I think looked really fun
@TripleKing333 that sucks. Can't see why it couldn't be all on one disc or just put it on a 2nd. Capcom have been garbage with their physical releases recently, RE4 Gold Edition DLC is a code and the main game isn't even the latest update.
@Zuljaras if you've got a Vita you can get the Dracula X Chronicles for like Β£8 (digitally). Totally worth it. It was ported to PS4 but they removed the actual PSP remake π
@Zuljaras you can't go wrong with any of the GBA/DS Castlevania games, they're all great. Also the Dracula X Chronicles on PSP has an excellent remake of Rondo of Blood, a great port of SoTN and a port of the original Rondo of Blood. The PS2 games aren't bad either
