Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 537

I've been going full retro recently so I'll be playing Pokemon Pinball and Pokemon Crystal on the Game Boy Color. Also picked up Professor Layton and the Lost Future and Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword on the DS. As for PlayStation I may continue the ever-bizarre Final Fantasy 8 or start Alone in the Dark (2001). Happy weekend all and of course - it's coming home ⚽️ 😎

I'm on disc 2 of Final Fantasy VIII. So I'll be playing more of that. It's an odd game, definitely flawed and I can see why it's divisive, but I'm still enjoying it. You can't go wrong with any PS1 Final Fantasy really. Also playing a bit of Valkyria Chronicles 2 on the Vita, which has been a lot of fun so far and looks great for an old PSP game. Happy gaming all πŸ‘

@JPEGMakima it's not really "I won't enjoy this anymore" unless you're the top 1% of trophy hunters that literally play anything and everything for trophies. Its more of a case of "I like trophies, why does one of the biggest releases of the year not have any?". There is no reason to not add them when those who like them can collect them, and those who don't can ignore them πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I picked up the Dragon Age Inquisition DLC in the sale because I've been eying it up for years. So far it's kicking my ass but it's fun and I'm determined to beat it. Also I'm considering starting Key of Heaven, which is an obscure PSP action-RPG and Sonic Colours on DS. So quite a random bunch of games for me again πŸ˜…

I'm not the target audience for this, I like to play actual games, not "services". But the truth is for like the past 8 years everyone has been chasing the live-service jackpot. Games like this are a dime-a-dozen and they all start to blend together. The actual core-gameplay doesn't look too bad to be fair, at least Sony were smart enough to not make a battle royale πŸ˜†
