Re: Stellar Blade Dev Shift Up to Secure the Bag As It Plots Public Shares

@MikeOrator Sorry, but it's not just one example. There are great lists of them across all media. I actually doubt that we would even be having this conversation if large amounts of pattern recognition was not in play.

Regardless of what you may think about ''certain'' Youtube channels, you cannot build up a million subs talking about just a couple of instances. Such channels require vast amounts of new content to keep the fires burning.

@MikeOrator
''But to claim it's bad writing or poor characterizations is just plain ignorant.''

Because that Saints Row Reboot was just a veritable feast of great writing and excellent characters. The ''Waffle Maker Man'' was just so engrossing! I didn't miss Johnny Gat at all, no siree!

Oh and btw, yes, the intention was to ''force it down your throat''. The lead developer even said so on Twitter during his unprofessional rants against the old fanbase.

Re: Guerrilla's Online PS5 Horizon Game Survives Sony Cull

@Northern_munkey A popular game in my book has to have taken the world by storm. GTA, Fortnite, WoW, Minecraft, COD.

Horizon is semi-popular.

And regardless of that, as I already stated, it has sold precisely nothing in the MMO genre. The idea that people are going to abandon WoW or FF14 for this is pure fantasy.

What unique experience is this only semi-popular ip going to provide? Can it entice enough people away from the heavy hitters of its genre? Sorry, but in this over saturated market that is what you have to ask yourself.
I think that releasing this is a waste of money tbh.

Re: Naughty Dog Boss Neil Druckmann Doesn't Want to Make Games Forever

@itsfoz Even if I agreed with you, and I obviously don't, shall I tell you where they went wrong? Not giving you the option to kill her at the end.
Doesn't matter if its canon or not. People were denied a satisfactory ending. Instead they got to see Ellie alone with no fingers strumming badly at a guitar. You may think that is satisfactory writing, I think that Ellie wouldn't have given up so easily and it is contrived that she does.
Just my opinion though.

Re: Looks Like This Is the New Lara Croft in PS5's Next Tomb Raider

LifeGirl

@Tecinthebrain Yeah, in retrospect, I should have worded this better. My bad. As i say, i have no problem with a realistic take, but I refuse to believe that anyone actually wants Lara to look THIS masculine.
If anything, I would say that it is just as sexist to say that "realistic" equals "plain" or "flat".

Re: Looks Like This Is the New Lara Croft in PS5's Next Tomb Raider

I bet that pretty much every single person reading this right now who is attracted to women took a good long look at Cindy in Final Fantasy 15. Or Eva in Metal Gear Solid 3. Or Ashley in RE4. Or any other game where there is a blonde with big boobs.

I have no problem whatsoever with making women "realistic", but I am sick to death of this smug, superior, holier-than-thou attitude that comes with it when we all know that you are looking exactly where I'm looking. The only difference between us is that I am not ashamed to admit it.

Re: Diablo 4's $30 Class-Locked Portal Skins a Fresh Hell for Fans

It does amuse me how quickly the narrative on this game changed. I can't begin to tell you how many arguments I had with fanboys before it's release telling me that "No! Just because Immortal was a money hungry pos it doesn't mean this will be you hater!!"

Welcome to the real world of pattern recognition, friends.

Re: Final Fantasy 8 Director Would Rework Divisive Junction System in Hypothetical Remake

LifeGirl

What i think that a lot of people who are supporting the junction system are missing is that on your first blind playthrough, you don't know about all of the card modding tricks. You don't know how broken Triple Triad is. You don't know which monsters have which spells.

Without a guide, without the meta, your first game is going to be standing there mashing X whilst farming the same mob of enemies 300 times. The system sucks for newbies.

And that is before we even get into the fact that it absolutely discourages spell casting. Every spell you use just makes your overall build weaker.
