Gonna start Diablo 4 and continue playing Helldivers 2 with friends. Really excited to crack Diablo; I spent a ridiculous number of hours of hours playing D3.

Neither will exit. Sony’s console business is healthy, and Microsoft have the money to burn to stay in the game. Plus they’d lose all of their current console audience if they abandoned the market, if only because current customers would rightly lose their minds if they didn’t have a machine to play their games on in the next generation.

@DennisReynolds No need to be snarky. I did read the article. Hence my comment. The article says “it looks great on PS5 Pro” without offering any substantial new information or explaining why or how. I’m clearly not the only person who feels this way, hence the 24 likes for my comment.

@Deoxyr1bose Exactly. Just like the old “Microsoft Points” currency they had for Xbox. Always sold in totally inconvenient quantities in the hope that you would buy more to top up. Crooked.

They’ll absolutely make another console. They’ve said that they will, and boasted about “the largest generational leap”. Plus, they started as a console and would be leaving existing fans (and their libraries) behind. Lastly, they’re never going to beat Sony, but they’re not going to let them have the high performance console market to themselves.

@themightyant Totally agree. The only time I want a timer in my game is if it’s a racing game. And “survival extraction” shooter? No thanks.

It was OK, but too small for a Borderlands type game (especially since they charged full price). I’d rather they focus on knocking Borderlands 4 out of the park.

Avatar is tempting, but I’m about to jump into Diablo 4 which I know is going to be addictive!

Great update! Really different fighting the new faction. An unfortunate side effect to the surge in popularity is that I got disconnected from three of my four matches last night.

@Blauwe_Chimay That game totally took me by surprise. Friends got it for me mor Christmas and I’ve been loving it!

Playing Ghost Recon: Breakpoint’s Conquest Mode…it’s like a whole second campaign after you finish the story! That, and some sweet Helldivers 2 and Gran Turismo 7.

Looking forward to this one, though two player only couch co-op is a bit of a bummer.

Thank God it’s not more Last of Us! Something new is way more exciting. Looks good, too!

Yes! Had a blast with the first one. Glad this didn’t become a casualty of the Microsoft buyout.

Nice! Still need to dive back into the game since the revamp. Loved my first playthrough in 2022!

Just got it this weekend, but Helldivers 2 is already the most fun game I’ve played all year!

The “free” monthly games are usually crap, but every once in awhile we get something like “Dead Space” that makes up for it.

Let’s do a Horizon trade: give us Forza Horizon 5, and we’ll give them Horizon Zero Dawn!

Love Borderlands, love this story.

I’d bet it’s just under what PS4 Pro sold at launch due to the high price and the fact that the improvements are generally much more subtle than the jump from 1080p to 4K that the PS4 Pro delivered.

Never played this as I never had a PS3 and don’t want Premium (or to stream my games), but would by a remastered collection of these for sure!

@Oram77 No, I think that Phil was told that this was the way it has to be (multiplat releases), and he’s going along with it, not sticking his neck out. Microsoft can still make tons of money releasing games on other platforms.

Halo and Gears.

I think this is another example of their arrogance. They feel like they’re beating Microsoft, so they think they don’t NEED to show anything.

Sad that Sony didn’t keep the studio. A loss of talent, and they need more shooters.

I say let them have it. Share the love! Then maybe we can have Halo and Gears…

The game was already too hard, IMO. Also not a fan of the fact that you have to play on harder difficulties to unlock better weapons, especially due to the difficulty. Let me grind a bit more on easier difficulties if need be. It’s too damned hard to read what’s going on when you get swarmed, which makes it impossible to parry attacks. Then you’re done for.

The reason they’re selling without the drive is to save money. This data just makes it easier for them to justify the decision and give a different reason.

The game needs buffs, not nerfs! The game is already hard.At least make the nerfs only apply to the hardest difficulty level.

I’m 52, so video game FOMO does not exist. But even waiting has its downsides; price erosion just doesn’t happen like it used to. The “sales” on PSN are a joke.

Until more PS5 only must have games arrive, sales of the console will continue to decline. I expect, as I’d imagine everyone does, that there will be a huge sales spike whenever GTA 6 arrives.

The one franchise (well, plus Gears but less so) that I truly mourned having to leave behind when I switched back to PlayStation for the PS4. It was cushioned a bit by the fact that Bungie was no longer involved, but I’d be there day one for Halo on PS5 (as long as there’s a meaty campaign).

The other two games are crap, but Dead Space tips the balance to “mostly satisfied” for me.

Always sad to see gaming magazines go under. Back in the day, they were our best source of news, reviews, and even rumours. R.I.P. PLAY.

I mean, of course “it rocks”…it’s new tech! Guess what? He’ll be saying the PS6 rocks when it comes out, too.

Not interested in a portable, but have no problem with one being offered for those who are. Now…can we get back to talking about the PS5, PLEASE?!

@get2sammyb I’d argue that the other problem is that there aren’t enough PS5-only games that are compelling enough to make people upgrade from PS4.

If this focuses on quests (and continues to add content) and co-op, it could do well. But hard to say.

Why would you wait and buy this later?! Prices probably won’t drop, and we’ll be that much closer to the PS6 release in a couple of years.
