Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Success Means Capcom Shareholders Get a Bump

Nem

@DennisReynolds Not necessarily, but there is a lot of negativity around it which makes me think it likely won't.
Also, it's resources compete with devil may cry which sold 7.8m copies.
So... i don't think the future of DD looks so rosy until DD2 gets to the numbers of it's predecessor and DMCV.
But, as you say, the original didn't sell so fast, it was a slow burn. We'll see how this does. I think that is what capcom is happy about for now. It's started ahead but the tail sales will determine the future of this one.

Re: Fallout Series Timeline Adds Up, Says Todd Howard

Nem

That's good to know... but i still hate the story told in the show wasn't on a fallout 5 instead. It has major revelations for the whole series and many won't even know about them.
Like... why were the bombs dropped? Who dropped them and why?
These are very core pieces of story for the franchise and to see them dropped in a tv show is sad.

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Patch 1.31 Out Now on PS5, Brings Big Damage Buffs for Clive, Better Side Quests, and Much More

Nem

@DrVenture69 That is true. If you play something long enough, your brain will get used to it.
I was playing monster hunter world and the game is slow and i played for many hours and wouldn't notice anymore. Once i went to play a regular action game everything seemed way too fast and i had to get used to it again.
Like seriously... slow games are not good for the head and low fps isn't either.

With that said... the fps in ffxvi is fine. People exaggerate. I never even noticed an issue. If it's like sub 30fps it's a problem though.

Re: Prepare Yourself for Incoming Metaphor: ReFantazio Livestreams

Nem

@Martijn87 To be fair i have not looked enough into this game to know how it's structured. But thought i'd warn as a persona fan that tried other SMT games that ended up feeling very different.
Even persona 5 strikers feels off cause it's missing the life sim part.

But yes, i imagine this one would be more like a tales or star ocean but with the Atlus feel.

Re: Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tide DLC Is Designed to Be More Challenging

Nem

@Nepp67 That is not a call you can make for every player. Some people like to roflstomp enemies and feel powerful with increased stats and are happy enjoying the story.
But, more importantly different players have different skill levels. It's impossible to make one size fits all. Which is why it's best to start easy and have difficulty options for those wanting a bigger challenge.

Re: Stellar Blade Is a Better Game Than NieR: Automata, Yoko Taro Reckons

Nem

And now for an unpopular opinion.

I don't think that is difficult at all. Nier Automata was a more boring Nier (gestalt). The story was not at all very different nor the save shannenigans and the world. I guess some robotic rear end made it more appealing for the kiddies that missed out on the first one.

Re: Most PS5 Players Say 60fps Is a Must

Nem

I would say this poll was loaded if the point was to make that statement.

Of course everyone prefers a game that performs well. It isn't news.

It's like polling. Do you like if your game has good graphics? There is no excuse not to, it should be the target, i prefer good graphics but it's not a deal breaker, i don't care, no. What are these options? 🤣 Most of these options are yes or not important.

More interesting would be: How important do you feel 60fps is for you?
Scale of 1 to 5 on matter of importance from very important to not important at all.
What about 30fps?
What about a locked stable fps?

Etc.

Then you actually get a number worth something.
