People need to watch out their expectations. This is not a AAA developer. Don't think this will be coming out in PS6 cross gen with insane graphics.
This will be an AA remake in the vein of say Alone in the Dark.

It's silent hill 2. It's not like we don't know what to expect.
The start of the game is slow and the combat is not the focus. Ofc there will be mixed reviews.
If you liked silent hill before you will like it though.

The thing is... it sounds like it's exactly like the original and not an evolution of the formula. They held on to the belief that removing choice from the player is a good thing with traveling and the pawns system is still terrible and does no favors to the game to have some random immersion breaking AI's rather than a party to customise and grow that serves the storytelling too. It was a mistake to keep it instead of actual characters and an actual plot. Which was exactly the problems the original had. None of it was addressed. This sequel is more of the same like the original was perfect and honestly, it wasn't. It was good, but flawed. This is very much the same.

Yes, it's a trend. But in the case of Monster Hunter, it makes sense. It's always been limited in map size and what could be in it and different monsters would share the same nests.
Having an open world where every monster has it's own place and they can't just run away from the map and despawn will make things more realistic.

Also, will be great if we can take more than one quest at a time.

That name is terrible though. Are they planning to make it a yearly release? Tennis doesn't change that much year to year.

They likely will continue making it for another gen though.

What happens is they create more and more design problems and sell you the solution. That permissive atitude is exactly why games launch in incomplete states despite you paying premium price for it.

Oh i was playing Monster Hunter Rise and i did get a message that it couldn't connect to PSN. I play solo so it didn't make a difference to me.

Looks interesting. Amy never fails to deliver a good narrative.

It sounds nice, but the pawn system really soured the experience in the original and often broke immersion with repeated dialogue options and the fact that they didn't level up or could be customised, not to mention they really were just generic characters.
I am concerned the same will repeat here and i will get bored at the lacking narrative.
Gameplay is great and all, but i need motivation to continue, which is to say i need to want to know what happens next. If i don't, the game lost me.

Definitely not a max price purchase for me from the sounds of it. Maybe on the cheap i will risk it.

This is a good game. It's poorly optimised though.

Though "good" is not a science. What is good for one person and another differs.

I like these more modest titles that offer a different experience. I liked Darksiders 3, and i am interested in getting the alone in the dark remake and the gothic remake. Cause they are different experiences from the triple A stuff we get all the time and frankly often outstays it's welcome and feels samey.

I played the demo and enjoyed it.
I platinum'ed the remake of the original. I don't think it's amazing, but i like it.
It has the vibe of exploring an alien world.

The remake of the original also had performance issues. I hope they do something about it.
I won't buy at max price but will grab it on sale.

@Stragen8 Alone in the dark remake and Outcast 2 have or will release soon. This year there will be the gothic remake and there was space marine 2 but now that may be saber.
I also got Darksiders 3 from them some years ago. There was also the kingdoms of amalur remaster with brand new dlc.

In short, they are out there if you bother to look. You just don't see much coverage in sites such as this which focus on AAA games and sony news.

We are better off without these. The single player games are vastly superior experiences.

Alot of price cuts and that MH wilds buzz at the beggining of the year helped.
Though i am more into Rise myself.
There were several issues i had with world and rise was much more beginner friendly and fun experience to me. I love all the switch skill combinations.

I am starting to think there were switch exclusivity contracts that ran out recently with several switch exclusives making their way to ps4. 😅
Now i'm regretting getting them on the switch.

Anyways, will depend on improvements whether i get this one.

The issues were technical issues in no way due to the switch but the quality of the porting.
Also, i could already spot that the ps1 version of grandia is still the one being used.

Anyways can't help but be gappy a new grandia product is coming out. I still want a remaster of 3 and a new entry.

Look, i am ok with the top, but FFXIV... if you play it from ARR to Endwalker is without a doubt the best FF experience. I say that as a big ff7 fan. FFXIV is the best FF. 7 the best stand alone and 9 after that.

@ShogunRok I finished the main story on switch. It's a surprisingly decent game. Feels a lot like a pokemon game including the performance issues which should be much relieved on ps4.
I confess It's the game that got me into the series and i can recommend it even if one doesn't like the main series.
Like the main series it also has a high rank aka all new endgame once the story is over.

I do expect the next entry in the series to make it big. It's almost there. Needs more budget.

Think about it.

The nintendo hardware can't run them, so only small scale ones can be ported.
The Xbox console is a small market hardly worth the porting cost risk.
It makes sense for Microsoft to port to playstation, but not the other way around.
Also, as others pointed out. Xbox customers are into gamepass and no longer buy games. The Xbox market is a dying one. Which is why Microsoft is going to nintendo and playstation with their games.
The only option here is the PC market.

I also heard people who played it here say that it only cover the next 6 hours of FF7, which kind of hints this might end up as a 4 parter or 5.
Looking at such milking, people will be wary.

I also agree the naming might have been a bad idea. They should have named it ff7 Remake part 2.

I still say the dlc is pointless and i have no intention of getting it.

I think it's a waste of time. It does nothing to change the ending or add to the main campaign. It's no golden/royal. I won't be getting it. I prefer the way the main game ends.

I wish we could just have an RTS like emperor or a single player rpg like the visual novel.

I still think there is more potential on the Nintendo model and the switch is still selling well despite being so long in the market and "underpowered". I think there is growth and a more sustainable model there.
We'll see.

@CWill97 you can play them all on ps4/5.
I started with cold steel. It's supposed to be an entry point and it's the first 3D one.
There are references to previous titles but nothing i consider essential, even though purists of the series will tell you to play from trails in the sky. If you want to try the 2D ones trails from zero/azure are available as well. The sky series is the least relevant for cold steel onwards.

Alternatively... i think you can start with Daybreak. New sub series are entry points for new players. It's mostly a new cast of characters. If you like it you can always go back and play the others. They are unlikely to be remade/remastered anytime soon.
