Re: Interview: Falcom President Talks All Things Trails, Daybreak 2, and Kai in Our Biggest Interview Ever

Nem

I am looking forward to all of them kondo-san. I love falcom games!
Thanks for this interview guys.
I am especially excited to see where Tokyo Xanadu 2 goes. I enjoyed the first game quite a lot in how it merged trails and ys elements.
As for trails, i do want to see it stay turn based. I think that as kondo-san points out, these systems lend themselves perfectly to party gameplay and character development.

I wonder though... what will happen when trails ends? Will there be a brand new legend of heroes? πŸ€”

Re: Trails through Daybreak 2 Adds to an Insane February Release Schedule on PS5

Nem

Well... i care about trails and will get it. I will get MH eventually as well.
Been done with AC for several entries now and will skip this entry of like a dragon. I felt like Infinite wealth was too much of a filler and this is likely to be that too. Even though i really liked Gaiden and i think the smaller action game model is actually quite good.

Re: Acclaimed PS5 Platformer Astro Bot Really Couldn't Be Selling Any Better

Nem

@ChrisDeku Good. Thanks for fixing it, i suppose. Was worth me pointing it out.

But you went off misinterpreting what i said. I never said the IP doesn't belong to sony i said they didn't develop the game internally. So stop tooting that horn.

That site did fool me, so sony just needs to pay the developer.
There, i fixed my original post. I have no problem to admit when i made a mistake.

But i still disagree with what you are implying. You have a sample of 2 live services. A rate of 50% success and you broke even. Does this sound like a recipe for success? How much was spent financing these games and can a 50% success rate even me maintained? Also keep in mind the helldivers 2 playerbase is now much smaller, so you won't be getting the same rate of returns.

Astro here cost much less to develop, likely is selling more consoles and is making good sales profit with much less risk.

Re: Throne and Liberty (PS5) - Beginner MMO Is Plagued with Technical Issues

Nem

"Every objective is displayed with a quest marker, so you're quite literally just checking items off a to-do list with very little thought needed."

Remember this when you are reviewing sony made and other open world games.

Sadly though, buggy mmo's are the norm now. WoW the war within is filled with FPS bugs, memory leaks, disconnects and hordes of other bugs and it's the most successful it's been in the last years. It's sad.

Re: Sony Product Manager Urges PS5 Fans to 'Settle Down' Over Ads

Nem

Sure... it was just an honest mistake i'm sure. These things happen. We just accidently coded the patch to put adds on the game pages. Oops... my hand slipped and built the code. 🀷

In all seriousness, this is something they at least considered, if not planned for a future update

Re: Fans Appear to Be Coming Around to PS5 Pro

Nem

@Ajbr8687 Dude, why are you acting like the companies are struggling to make a profit? You are under the wrong impression. They want ever increasing profits. That is why they make greedy moves.
Are you really blaming the consumer for not liking it?

Sure, buy whatever you want. In the grand scheme it doesn't matter what we personally do. What will matter is the greater picture and how sales are affected. Though online discourse does impact it somewhat. So, consumers showing their displeasure is useful to defend the consumer perspective. So, there is nothing wrong with doing that.

Also, you are building a narrative there. You are trying to connect different people's and what they are saying about different things together. We are not a hive mind.

Re: Talking Point: What Was Your Favourite PS5 Game from State of Play September 2024?

Nem

@Rich33 No, the thing is Soul reaver 1 was incomplete. The vision was for a bigger game but due to time constraints and technical limitations they had to cut stuff from it. But the story was always meant to go into the past in the original game. SR2 was the direct continuation of what was cut from SR1. It takes place immediately after.

SR2 has an ending and defiance takes place centuries after. It's not something that happens immediately after and was planned and cut from the previous game. SR2 had hardly anything cut from it.

Yes, we can but hope for a continuation of the series.

Re: Talking Point: What Was Your Favourite PS5 Game from State of Play September 2024?

Nem

@Rich33 Umm... SR2 does not end in a to be continued. Don't spread false stuff like that. The first game ended in to be continued, but not the second. The story arc was concluded. The story of the soul reaver was revealed.

What comes after is a new chapter taking that knowledge into account and takes place centuries after the conclusion of SR2. It's an actual sequel. Even if for Kain it was just a time jump. A lot of time takes place between the end of SR2 and the start of defiance.

Re: Just Three Decisions from Dragon Age: Inquisition Will Carry Over to The Veilguard

Nem

I don't like it.
I care about my "baggage" and i dislike that it gets ignored. I truly liked my Gray warden from origins and even though he survived and had a child with Morrigan, he was reduced to one letter in inquisition.
I would love to know what he is doing and for him to make an appearance.

I don't enjoy just being handed a new cast at every entry and ignore everything that happened before.

I believe that is why mass effect was successful and why dragon age is disjointed.

Re: Dynasty Warriors: Origins Actually Looks Awesome in Live PS5 Gameplay Demo

Nem

It looks interesting but once again, i cannot watch these videos with an obnoxious presenter that obviously doesn't know anything about the game making stupid pointless remarks and just generally a lot of noise while the developer is explaining the game. I hope they release this in a cleaner video format with only the developer.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Wins Over PlayStation Fans

Nem

I got the ps4 game. I will get the free upgrade.
But i skipped on the sequel cause the original bored me and i didn't get very far.
I might try it again, but tbh i am kind of tired of open worlds and their menial repetitive tasks and grindy nature.
Maybe not popular to say here, but i burned out of ubisoft open worlds and Sony ones haven't been that much better. It all feels like different shades of Assassin's Creed and I've been there and done that.

Re: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered Is Real, Reborn on PS5, PS4 in December

Nem

@Yagami It's graphical upgrade, wide screen support, a new interactive in-gamemap, instant toggle with classic graphics, photo mode, improved camera and modern controls and 60fps.
Also i will quote here crystal dynamics:
"Interactive lore map, view never-before-seen concept art, and delve into environments from the fabled β€œLost Levels.”
Now i am not sure exactly what they mean there, but it sounds like we will be able to visit the cut content in these lost levels.

This is a sweet remaster. I know what you wanted was a triple A remake. But, that was never gonna happen without a proof of concept, and this is it, especially at how it's priced (30dollars). It has no reason to bomb. This is great value.

Re: Ghost of Yotei Is the Ghost of Tsushima Sequel We Needed, Slashing to PS5 in 2025

Nem

I recently beat the first game. Yes, it's pretty for a while, but it sure was boring like most open world games. Lots of repetitive and grindy tasks and the story was hardly interesting.
I liked it somewhat, but i don't want to do that again. But, given the success i can understand them making a sequel. All i see is more of the same though and i've had enough of that already.
