Re: Microsoft Is Investigating Why Devs Are Prioritising PS5 Over Xbox

Pompey71

Because you have an older generation console which is holding back advancements and then you had an industry leading Xbox PC Game Pass which was envied by everyone... and then ruined it with constant price increases and changes in tiers.

Xbox is a dying brand. They just arent doing anything fun or innovative. Plus, the Xbox controller feels like a Tonka toy compared to Sense

Re: PS5 Exclusives Final Fantasy 16, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Failed to Meet Expectations

Pompey71

The reason on PC for sales being low, is they don't understand how Steam pricing works! FF7: Remake is stupidly priced for a game that's been out so long. If people can't play that, they won't be inclined to grab a PS5 to play the sequel. Lower the damn price on Steam and MAYBE some people's impatience will work in your benefit. But Square gotta Square and stick to those moon-logic prices.

Re: Jim Ryan Leaves PlayStation as PS5 Set to Become Its 'Most Successful Console Ever'

Pompey71

More evidence of how delusional these CEO's are. They only see money and their stupid narrow-minded spin. How about the optics? PS5 is barely worth getting. Nowhere near enough exclusives to make it tempting, a rubbish build and it's visually ugly and it's still overpriced. Most people don't care about it that I've talked to, just going to PC gaming or sticking with PS4. I'm absolutely chuffed I didn't knee-jerk purchase one. Sounds worthless. Not paying £500 to play Spider-Man 2.

Re: Court Rules £5 Billion Lawsuit Against Sony Can Go Ahead, Following Years of 'Excessive' PS Store Prices

Pompey71

I think the only real issue here is when the digital copies cost way more than physical, considering there's less cost involved as you don't have to make the physical media. However, it does move that data onto servers that need to be constantly maintained and the rest of the infrastructure needed to deliver them.

I DO think the prices are stupid, but at the same time, that's why I don't own a Lambo. I simply don't buy them. For me, the problem is solved. I just wait for sales.

Personally, I think the court will rule that Sony can charge what they like because options do exist between ignoring digital sales altogether, waiting for sales or buying discs.

Now that all changes if Sony move to an ENTIRELY digital storefront and stop producing physical media that can be resold at better prices, but we aren't there yet. I can't help feel this should have waited until then...

Re: Uncharted PC Port Has Lowest Player Count of Any Sony Game at Launch

Pompey71

Probably because you asked a massive group of PC only players, to purchase the FOURTH game in a series without providing the means for them to play the first trilogy and get to know the characters. It's like starting with Memberberries and then going back to watch what they are talking about. It's backwards and dumb.

Re: Sony Won't Let Microsoft's $69 Billion Activision Acquisition Go, Stresses It's Bad for Gaming

Pompey71

Call of Duty isn't exactly the top-tier product it once was. It's only because the sheeple are so indoctrinated into it's economy that it appears to be popular. If Sony took two seconds to think about it, creating a COD-beater isn't all that hard. Just may take a little effort and money. With all the exclusives Sony hold onto (with only PC benefitting from ports), it's very cheeky of them to suggest Microsoft act any differently to them.

Re: GTA Trilogy Could Be Pretty Pricey on PS5, PS4

Pompey71

All you people feigning outrage at the possible price and saying you won't buy it... you will.

It's the same every time and it's exactly why it'll be this price, because you all have no self-control or ability to stand your ground.

Same with microtransactions.

Don't buy games at full price, games come down in price. Simple maths.

Re: Telltale Games Is Coming Back Under New Management

Pompey71

@Alexface Exactly. At times, you had 2-3 Telltale games on the go at once and were desperately trying to finish one before the next one came out. It created fatigue in the genre and by the time I was trying to finish TWD Final Season, I was totally out of gas for these games.

Less-- with more investment in real decisions, story and engine technology would go much further.

Quality over quantity.

Re: Telltale Games Is Coming Back Under New Management

Pompey71

I loved Telltale games but this article is right, they released so many, so quickly that even I got bored of them. A couple of games a year MAX with higher quality animations and engine, which run for maybe 6 episodes minimum per "game" would be good. Having each episode run a bit longer too would also help. 4-5 hours I'd say is a sweet spot. Also, finish one before starting the next or have minimal overlap. Don't work the new employees into the ground. No-one deserves that stress and imagination and creativity wont thrive in that environment either.

Also--- forget Batman. I'm not entirely convinced anyone really cared for it. TWAU was much more unique. Batman's been done to death.
