I know a lot of people here are in their 30s but since PS+ and Minecraft have been out this has been very very normal! I'm in my 20s, I've BEEN getting dumb vouchers and subscriptions for years and years, very interesting to see this come up as news
This shows you why developers need time. An extra two years or more would have made this and Rise of Kong go from poop to probably passable but greedy publishers trying to fulfill contracts or take advantage of expiring licences led us here.
As for Gollum, any amount of time could not help them, that game had over 4 years of development
@Czar_Khastik the crazy thing is this game looks like it has a lot of soul from the visuals to the cinematics to the characters but the blend of gameplay is just not it at allll.
Why did WB make them devolve from making cinematic, tight combat, heavy hitting sandbox games to some looter shooter, marketplace, CASH GRAB of a game
I think by interesting he means more varied and diverse reactions. If you look at the AI mods for the Matrix tech demo thing, the possibilities are endless. However, it would be a slippery slippery slope as it would negate the need for voice actors, writers and that can only lead to the greedy publishers exploring how else they can cut staff. As with all use cases, I don't think they should look at AI for the purpose of replacing people, but as being supplementary, hand in hand with humans as it can help you improve a lot of things, like art, writing, learning and knowledge.
@MikeOrator have you ever heard of an observation? AC games are way too big and too detailed and after seeing this I made the suggestion that Ubisoft would put their worlds to better use in sim games than AC games where all that scale is being wasted as most AC fans want tighter knit games than the large sprawling worlds. What is the big deal
@MikeOrator where is the hate? Ubisoft make amazing huge worlds that would be perfect for the simulation genre rather than going to waste as AC games. Wash your eyes and remove the cynicism
These are the type of games Ubisoft should make considering their hard on for replicating laaarge parts of countries. Far better use in sim games rather than AC games.
This might be the only year there hasn't been a nailed down winner. 2018 was also tight with RDR 2 & GOW. I think it should go to any one of BG3, SP2, FF16 or Zelda.
@Areus that too, so what's that 4 that we already know for sure, 4 that we have seen rumours/development news for. This live service thing really isn't as bad as it's being made out to be. SSM, Insomniac, SP, Firesprite, Bluepoint, Asobi, Bend, there's probably more, are all still making single player games and in the case of SP they're rumoured to be working on both single player and live service game.
@Dr_ENT nah dawg, this the bomba you think it is. Some of these games aren't happening anymore. A lot of these have been blown out of proportion. Single Player games are still happening.
We already know Fairgames and Marathon. MLB, GOT Legends, Factions, Horizon Multiplayer are 4 more out of the supposed 10 live service games, so I'm not really that concerned about the doom and gloom you're trying to allude to.
@DennisReynolds yeah you're probably right. I guess what I meant to say is they have a lot more to offer with their original IP. Not saying I don't like their Spider-Man games, loving SP2 right now but I want to see some variety. They said they don't wanna be a marvel factory right? I'd hate to see them just pumping out marvel games non stop
@DennisReynolds I think Spider-Man 3 will be cross gen with PS6. After Wolverine I hope it's a non marvel property, Insomniac got a lot more to offer than open world games, even though they're really good
Do not watch this trailer!! I saw a character I wasn't expecting to see on a twitter post, thinking someone spoiled it for me. Nope, Sony just decided to put it in their launch trailer 🤡
Always thought it would make sense for PSN to be available on PC after Sony's clear attempt to branch out of console. Maybe that's what we'll eventually see
So far I think this has been very divisive. For those of us that wanted something classic, it feels too bare (not in terms of length but in terms of depth) and not enough was taken advantage of in terms of new mechanics they could add. But most of all the story isn't quite up to what many AC fans have come to expect.
For fans of the RPG series, they absolutely love it! I've seen nothing but praise from newcomers so I'm sure the next and final RPG game set in Japan will do nicely as it'll be fresh and familiar.
Undeniably it's a good game but there's just a lack of depth in there for me
Not surprising at all. Everyone and their mum have been informed since Fifa 21 came out that they are dropping the Fifa name. Again, as many mentioned at the time, a really good move from EA as it's Fifa that profit more from being in the title of the game than EA. For many many reasons
I knew it was a lot harder than it looks, sometimes I'm baffled as to how many people time it so badly when others are perfect. I'll have to give your episode a watch
@itsfoz is your success mainly based on the timing on when you drop your coin so it lands flat rather than standing up which makes it more likely to ride? And if so, do they give you tips on when to drop your coin in?
@MasterPlayerOne yeah! I remember it always looked great but lacked content. I played it a few times and was used to the GT levels of game modes so I didn't like it much.
Plus it was one of the first (iirc) singleplayer racing games which made the appeal so damn low for me as at that time PS4 was still new and many of my friends still had a 360 or PS3 so I couldn't play it with the friends I wanted to
@Mikey856 a glorified mix of minigames really. It's fun for the first 5 times. Only fun with friends IMO. Also only fun when you are an imposter
You are basically on a map as a crew doing your jobs (minigames) and one or two ppl are imposters and you have to get to the end sabotaging and killing your crew and acting innocent while everyone votes off who they think are the imposters

@Czar_Khastik I know the story's going to be amazing but those bits in-between, the bits you call a game? It looks like pure trash

@knowles2 but like your previous point, no way a writer could write so the possibilities. If they could there'd be no need for the AI

Horrendous ranking. Liberations is really good. Seems as though they just put all the smaller ones at the bottom. Unity so low as well, wow

@naruball amen to that! A willingness to wow an audience, that's what makes good games and generates big money. Not the need to appease shareholders.
Re: DriveClub at 60FPS on PS5 Has Us Mourning the Loss of Evolution Studios All Over Again
@naruball Motorstorm needs to come back in some form in the future. The concept and execution were so damn good
