I'm not a Monster Truck fan at all, but mid nineties I played a lot of Monster Truck Madness on PC, instead of playing Solitaire, I put in a few sessions of MTM regularly. Different standards now but the nostalgic factor brings back good memories (those random voice lines still exist in my head ).
I'm always on the lookout if one releases. I wish there was a demo to try it out!
It looks like they are kind of winging it tbh. Messaging is too unclear for Xbox gamers already. I also think, Xbox only gamers are anxious to know when they are going to see PS first party titles on their Xbox at this point.
Don't think they are going to see any answers until the last minute, if it even happens.
It's kind of a big ask to know which games will come to PS5. On the other hand, I don't get MS strategy at the moment, they are all over the place.
I truly think they haven't got a clue what to do next or what games to move over next. There is some backlash, but do they care? If it's all about Game Pass, move them all over but your paying customers will vanish like snow in the sun!
Of course, if I only had a PS5, I would like to know what games I was going to get.
Played since the FlatOut series and Wreckfest was really the best one yet imo. Vehicular damage is awesome in these games, so excited to see what improvements we get to see in that engine!
@rusty82 Understandable. I had to see some more because I could pre- order it physical below €60. I have faith in the dev but wanted to be sure about the “feel” of this new addition to the franchise. There is a lot to look forward to 🙂
Free EA update wasn't on my bingo card. The long fargone days, I still did buy FIFA games, I waited for WC or EC editions. See. if they want they can be nice to their customers.
What's you guys top 3 for winning the Cup? Brons, Silver & Gold (final)
This is going to be such a joy to play this through, feeding us with nostalgia, because those PS references were a delight and had one the best use of the Dual Sense tech. Very immersive experience!
This can’t go wrong I gather? And to 100% completion it could be at least +20 hours? Can’t wait!
I get the sentiment. Complaining or not, it doesn’t seem to hurt the brand very much, looking at the consoles sales.
I’m one that likes the first party games from ND & SP very much but the fact we see so many Remasters/Remakes, means they need the money to make them (and people seem to like that strategy). Is it even realistic to expect AAA blockbusters from those studios every 5 years? Mostly they bet on sequels too because that’s less risk taken, so new IP’s aren’t always in the cards.
The SOP wasn’t for me except Astro Bot tbh but on the other hand I can’t believe Sony PS hasn’t got a clue what they are doing either. There isn’t a golden formula anymore and they need to be able to change strategies almost on the go.
In hindsight, maybe we were blessed having all those games where PS is known for, and that golden era is gone? Delivering awesome games is one thing, but keeping that same level/amount of hits year after year? And if we can believe Sony, the loss of former income from COD does matter, and one of the reasons they are trying to create a Fortnite-esque moneymaker?
And is it greed or is it starting to be a necessity at this point? I thought Factions 2 would be a no brainer to be successful but apparently they can’t afford to have a team that would support that title for an amount of time?
I’m a fan of those games. Quality should always be priority number 1 when developing games! Fixing a game after release is a bad move whatever the reason. Bad for gamers but also for the reputation of those devs.
My expectations were low at first but with several delays, they seem to have listened to the feedback and took their time making it good. The trailer looks cool. Especially seeing older cars like the 2CV, Beetle, Stratos and Alpine. Fingers crossed!
@Titntin Wow six! All the same issues? Or 6 different ones? Edit: (already answered, forgot to add my comment on time)
I had my first stick drift with a controller with the OG Dual Sense (Edit: Switch still good). I don’t throw or manhandle my controller (can also happen when little children get a hold of your devices), although I understand the frustration in games sometimes 😅 but I immediately stop playing to avoid that = too expensive!
That used to be my thinking but that stick drift took me by surprise. Chances are bigger to have broken controllers when they fall or something along those lines but you can have problems when those things don’t happen. I keep wondering if it’s part of the built quality or the quality of the parts?
Bought the game but overall it wasn't my cup of tea. The sale numbers aren't that bad since they skipped the PS4 version mid development. Good choice they chose to go full in on the PS5 platform and leave cross-gen behind. Double edged sword ... Technical best version, but less sales!
I always love the Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, etc. experiences but a new MotorStorm would be awesome (iirc this team has become part of Codemasters and now EA). There's a lot of nostalgia, but reviving some older IP's wouldn't be all bad imo (although I'm biased of course).
Best tennis series I've played minus this one. Interested in the Grand Slam edition (standard edition is just an empty shell), but not for that price. Devs are losing the plot with all these different editions. It's been 13 years but I promised myself to stop being gullible in 2024! A pack to boost your level? 🤨 Several reviews talk about it being a budget title ... 2K/MTX = normal but it doesn't seem to result in a quality AAA tennis title. Devs call it upcoming updates but maybe it means the game isn't finished and buyers are beta testing it?
Only one subscription left for me. I'm doing good on the addiction/FOMO front 😋 Some people seem to be missing the point why others are complaining. I bet launch date of GTA6 will set some new records.
I'm done with Ubisoft. I gave them a last chance with buying TCM UE for €120 and seeing it at 50% only 3 months later!
If I will buy a Ubisoft UE ever again, €30 will be the highest price possible. Lesson learned!
Edit: same for any EA title
If I wouldn’t have a PS5? Sure, but since I have one it’s pointless to me. If they would have shorten the cycle and release a PS6 that would be different.
Also, this Pro will not be impressive (game wise) compared to the regular PS5. PS5 has been underwhelming this generation, partly because of keeping cross-gen into the equation so why will this Pro version be important? The only positive thing I can see is what developers can make or be able to make when PS6 dev kits will appear (already been experimenting with those extras). But that being said, even the latter must be a bigger leap than Reg PS5 to PS5 Pro? And making reg PS5 games inferior to Pro PS5 game isn’t a good look either imo.
A fool and his money are easily parted (and Sony will be happy to take it too)!
Well, I’ve been gaming for several decades and the white OG PS5 controller was my first stick drift experience (and used it with another controller for battery life). Always thought this happened because some people manhandled them. I have always been very careful with my stuff, so I was very surprised getting a stick drift controller and it changed my mind that even if you careful with your possessions, it can happen to anybody at this point.
Sony controllers aren’t cheap so I really wonder what the reason could be since so many people experienced the stick drift part (and also with other brands). There should be an easy and cheap solution in place so people wouldn’t mind that much (cost part). I hope the new PS5 controller has had an update concerning stick drift!
Slowly saw this happening. It would’ve been different if their first party games were top notch! They lack in quality and gamers will not keep giving them free passes. After the fiasco of FM 2023, imo, they need to step up big time. Months have been passing by and the QC is still under par! The pressure they created themselves will certainly not help them do better in the short term. 3rd party wise, March, has been great for me regarding gamepass and tbf, PS isn’t going to blow away Xbox in 2024 either. So maybe in comparison, 2023, is going to be a bit less awesome game year? We have been spoiled …
Glad I'm not that into those games and don't feel the need. I enjoyed many PS Studios NG+ playthroughs and if everyone is copying bad behaviour, others will follow suit, if this bait works. At least they are trying new stuff out to make money. A pity they didn't choose the side of the consumer!
If devs apologise, does it still mean something? It seems like a dev feature in the current climate. Saying you set high standards and then putting a mea culpa on Twitter (kudos for not calling it X 😋 )is a bit of a paradox! I mean, we all make mistakes but for the most part, they kinda know what they are releasing to the public?
PS4 has some really great looking games and to me, ND is still top dog when comparing all PS Studios! (also liked SP’s art style & atmosphere of Ghosts of Tsushima and wouldn’t compare it to Ubisoft myself, but different tastes and all).
BUT… the PS5 era seems to be all about focusing on Remasters and Remakes? Adding things like Lost Levels is a nice touch and the upgrade path on this one seems to be fair?
I do wonder why GOW R had a free upgrade and TLOUP2 had a €10/$10 upgrade, since they are both under the umbrella, PS Studios? Do they decide after spending X amount of development hours or how is this being measured?
PlayStation has lost a bit of being the powerhouse it was during the PS4 era. Almost like, copy/paste the PS4 gen —> PS5 gen …
Wanted to buy a new one via PS Direct (because of promo), but none are available. My first ever controller with stick drift (launch). Battery life was terrible (4 hours max). Bought a second one because of it. Maybe wait for a V2 if true!
So many studios! It’s been too quiet for too long! There must be “something” on the horizon? I wouldn’t mind a total different approach of what Jim Ryan did in bringing PlayStation games to the public (in a natural way ofc, not because it’s edgy).
I like to see some older IP’s coming back to life (opinions about some of them may have changed). I would really love a new Motorstorm myself! (and a new Ghost OT)
This is going to be a hard lesson to learn for such a good studio. Some devs will suffer from it (layoffs?), although Hogwarts was a success and this won’t be necessary. The game hasn’t released yet but the prognoses aren’t looking favorably! Is it even possible to turn this ship around? (It’s been a long development cycle) I know I’m not the target of the generic “Live Service” games but some people seem to be still excited? Will those people be enough though?
If the game isn’t ready, delay is a must! In this case I want to believe it’s for some more polish. Since this is the beginning of the year I wonder already how many games are going to get delayed in 2024? (as a metric) Skull & Bones is finally getting released and I also wonder if the game is actually ready? (haven’t played the Closed Beta but I have my doubts tbh)
@Stickleman I expected there would be a smaller game a la Spider-Man Miles Morales after SM2 or a new IP to change things up. R&C for Fall 2029 is closer to 2030 & new IP for 2030-2031 is a long time. Surprised that there was no data about PS6 so the R&C title (and most other titles) will probably be cross-gen (next-gen 2026-2027?). Also, in a decade a lot of things can change (like what is MS doing - shorter gen - and adjust some things). The only titles I can see for the PS5 are Venom & Wolverine and they will probably be Remastered for PS6. That’s PS MO and not included in the stolen data, so we only see parts of what they are planning.
And don’t forget there is ND, Sucker Punch Productions, Guerilla Games, Housemarque, Team Asobi, Santa Monica Studio, etc. Insomniac Games have been very productive but there are many other PS Studios that can shine in 2024 and beyond!
That's a major leak with Insomniac Games being a Marvel games studio only for the next decade. It's like they are putting all of their eggs in one basket. I don't doubt the games will be quality but that is a long time to bet on Marvel games only.
Worse thing is they released the whole plot of Wolverine but you can avoid that by not reading it ofc
I have no love for GAAS overall but ND is still my favourite Dev hands down.
This one feels weird so late in the dev process, no? That's a lot of work being spend on development costs. Their answer is one they could've known a lot sooner imo. ND = almost 900 people strong & could focus on multiple projects, with one being MP for sure? I'd rather see new IP's but I must admit, I enjoyed every Uncharted game multiple times. TLOU part2 has MP written all over it when going through the SP. There must be enough MP (Factions) left to give gamers a go on what could've been for a limited time? Maybe they are too much of perfectionists to pass it along?
So all bugs after the patch has been installed? John Linneman (DF) had multiple bugs that he never saw in his review copy. The 36% issue & not saving progress are concerning.
@KundaliniRising333 For once, not mad I haven't received my copy yet. I did 100% New Game Plus on Spider-man Remaster and Miles Morales (smoothest experience).
@MrMagic That was the whole point. I didn't take one source for granted, so I came to my usual spot.
What narrative? What did you no get? I don't play plastic boxes, I play games. That's what I dislike, the fanboys, in the way @themightyant mentions them but also the gatekeepers. Agree or disagree about the problems that are there? Come on now ...
I like the Forza franchise a lot, but I will not defend it if it has problems. You shouldn't either (whatever the game is). Same for people saying, hey, I have no problems, so it's impossible you have a problem.
You are making too much of this ... You talk like you play on one platform only and everything is bliss. Be a bit more open-minded and recognize not one platform is perfect!
@MrMagic That is what a community is about. And don't think for others and what info is good enough for them! I hate the fanboy stuff, but these problems don't need defending, they need to be addressed. They certainly are not all disingenuous!
@MrMagic I don't care about fanboys, just honest experiences with said game. It doesn't mean the game is bad all of a sudden. I still like to be informed. You can't paint everyone with the same brush.
@themightyant Ah ok, thanks for clarifying. I'm not into plastic boxes and such. I see myself as a gamer, platform doesn't matter. In this case, I was curious since nobody said anything about it. And I don't see a console warrior in John Linneman (Digital Foundry). Some experience bugs or have install problems others don't, or did, but found a solution to the problem etc. Since I didn't have my copy yet, I wanted to gather as much info about it (reddit isn't always a good place) and on PushSquare nobody seem to have had any problems, as far as I know. Good thing is, bugs can be patched, but a game not installing (happens on other platform too), I remember Xbox 360 discs scratching due to overheating. I hope I'm not one of those unlucky ones and if I am, the solutions given, help. Though, Insomnia Games is one of the last devs I would expect to have problems releasing new games.
@themightyant The real problem is the sad people trying to weaponise things like this to push their own bias or fanboy arguments, they don't even see the irony that the account they are quoting is a parody of them.
Just to be clear, are you implying something? (since I'm the one quoting)

It was okay. Definitely some games I'm interested in but most are far away. on the other hand, enough games to play!
1. Mafia The Old Country
2. Sniper Elite: Resistance
3. Space Marine 2
4. Reanimal
5. Little Nightmares 3
6. Indy
7. COD6 SP Campaign

Re: Insomniac Hackers Allegedly Leak Terabytes of Internal Information
That's a major leak with Insomniac Games being a Marvel games studio only for the next decade. It's like they are putting all of their eggs in one basket. I don't doubt the games will be quality but that is a long time to bet on Marvel games only.
Worse thing is they released the whole plot of Wolverine but you can avoid that by not reading it ofc
Re: The Last of Us' Cancelled PS5 Multiplayer Was 'More Fun' Than Any Other Online Game
I have no love for GAAS overall but ND is still my favourite Dev hands down.
Re: Poll: Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bugs are Apparently a Real Problem, But Have You Had Any?
So all bugs after the patch has been installed? John Linneman (DF) had multiple bugs that he never saw in his review copy.
The 36% issue & not saving progress are concerning.
@KundaliniRising333
For once, not mad I haven't received my copy yet. I did 100% New Game Plus on Spider-man Remaster and Miles Morales (smoothest experience).
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Director: This Game Is Worth the Money
@themightyant I couldn't agree more. ...
Fastest selling PS title, let's agree on that!

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Director: This Game Is Worth the Money
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Director: This Game Is Worth the Money
@MrMagic That is what a community is about. And don't think for others and what info is good enough for them! I hate the fanboy stuff, but these problems don't need defending, they need to be addressed. They certainly are not all disingenuous!
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Director: This Game Is Worth the Money
@MrMagic I don't care about fanboys, just honest experiences with said game. It doesn't mean the game is bad all of a sudden. I still like to be informed. You can't paint everyone with the same brush.
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Director: This Game Is Worth the Money
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Director: This Game Is Worth the Money
@themightyant The real problem is the sad people trying to weaponise things like this to push their own bias or fanboy arguments, they don't even see the irony that the account they are quoting is a parody of them.
Just to be clear, are you implying something? (since I'm the one quoting)
