Glad I'm not that into those games and don't feel the need. I enjoyed many PS Studios NG+ playthroughs and if everyone is copying bad behaviour, others will follow suit, if this bait works. At least they are trying new stuff out to make money. A pity they didn't choose the side of the consumer!
If devs apologise, does it still mean something? It seems like a dev feature in the current climate. Saying you set high standards and then putting a mea culpa on Twitter (kudos for not calling it X š )is a bit of a paradox! I mean, we all make mistakes but for the most part, they kinda know what they are releasing to the public?
PS4 has some really great looking games and to me, ND is still top dog when comparing all PS Studios! (also liked SPās art style & atmosphere of Ghosts of Tsushima and wouldnāt compare it to Ubisoft myself, but different tastes and all).
BUTā¦ the PS5 era seems to be all about focusing on Remasters and Remakes? Adding things like Lost Levels is a nice touch and the upgrade path on this one seems to be fair?
I do wonder why GOW R had a free upgrade and TLOUP2 had a ā¬10/$10 upgrade, since they are both under the umbrella, PS Studios? Do they decide after spending X amount of development hours or how is this being measured?
PlayStation has lost a bit of being the powerhouse it was during the PS4 era. Almost like, copy/paste the PS4 gen ā> PS5 gen ā¦
Wanted to buy a new one via PS Direct (because of promo), but none are available. My first ever controller with stick drift (launch). Battery life was terrible (4 hours max). Bought a second one because of it. Maybe wait for a V2 if true!
So many studios! Itās been too quiet for too long! There must be āsomethingā on the horizon? I wouldnāt mind a total different approach of what Jim Ryan did in bringing PlayStation games to the public (in a natural way ofc, not because itās edgy).
I like to see some older IPās coming back to life (opinions about some of them may have changed). I would really love a new Motorstorm myself! (and a new Ghost OT)
This is going to be a hard lesson to learn for such a good studio. Some devs will suffer from it (layoffs?), although Hogwarts was a success and this wonāt be necessary. The game hasnāt released yet but the prognoses arenāt looking favorably! Is it even possible to turn this ship around? (Itās been a long development cycle) I know Iām not the target of the generic āLive Serviceā games but some people seem to be still excited? Will those people be enough though?
If the game isnāt ready, delay is a must! In this case I want to believe itās for some more polish. Since this is the beginning of the year I wonder already how many games are going to get delayed in 2024? (as a metric) Skull & Bones is finally getting released and I also wonder if the game is actually ready? (havenāt played the Closed Beta but I have my doubts tbh)
@Stickleman I expected there would be a smaller game a la Spider-Man Miles Morales after SM2 or a new IP to change things up. R&C for Fall 2029 is closer to 2030 & new IP for 2030-2031 is a long time. Surprised that there was no data about PS6 so the R&C title (and most other titles) will probably be cross-gen (next-gen 2026-2027?). Also, in a decade a lot of things can change (like what is MS doing - shorter gen - and adjust some things). The only titles I can see for the PS5 are Venom & Wolverine and they will probably be Remastered for PS6. Thatās PS MO and not included in the stolen data, so we only see parts of what they are planning.
And donāt forget there is ND, Sucker Punch Productions, Guerilla Games, Housemarque, Team Asobi, Santa Monica Studio, etc. Insomniac Games have been very productive but there are many other PS Studios that can shine in 2024 and beyond!
That's a major leak with Insomniac Games being a Marvel games studio only for the next decade. It's like they are putting all of their eggs in one basket. I don't doubt the games will be quality but that is a long time to bet on Marvel games only.
Worse thing is they released the whole plot of Wolverine but you can avoid that by not reading it ofc
I have no love for GAAS overall but ND is still my favourite Dev hands down.
This one feels weird so late in the dev process, no? That's a lot of work being spend on development costs. Their answer is one they could've known a lot sooner imo. ND = almost 900 people strong & could focus on multiple projects, with one being MP for sure? I'd rather see new IP's but I must admit, I enjoyed every Uncharted game multiple times. TLOU part2 has MP written all over it when going through the SP. There must be enough MP (Factions) left to give gamers a go on what could've been for a limited time? Maybe they are too much of perfectionists to pass it along?
So all bugs after the patch has been installed? John Linneman (DF) had multiple bugs that he never saw in his review copy. The 36% issue & not saving progress are concerning.
@KundaliniRising333 For once, not mad I haven't received my copy yet. I did 100% New Game Plus on Spider-man Remaster and Miles Morales (smoothest experience).
@MrMagic That was the whole point. I didn't take one source for granted, so I came to my usual spot.
What narrative? What did you no get? I don't play plastic boxes, I play games. That's what I dislike, the fanboys, in the way @themightyant mentions them but also the gatekeepers. Agree or disagree about the problems that are there? Come on now ...
I like the Forza franchise a lot, but I will not defend it if it has problems. You shouldn't either (whatever the game is). Same for people saying, hey, I have no problems, so it's impossible you have a problem.
You are making too much of this ... You talk like you play on one platform only and everything is bliss. Be a bit more open-minded and recognize not one platform is perfect!
@MrMagic That is what a community is about. And don't think for others and what info is good enough for them! I hate the fanboy stuff, but these problems don't need defending, they need to be addressed. They certainly are not all disingenuous!
@MrMagic I don't care about fanboys, just honest experiences with said game. It doesn't mean the game is bad all of a sudden. I still like to be informed. You can't paint everyone with the same brush.
@themightyant Ah ok, thanks for clarifying. I'm not into plastic boxes and such. I see myself as a gamer, platform doesn't matter. In this case, I was curious since nobody said anything about it. And I don't see a console warrior in John Linneman (Digital Foundry). Some experience bugs or have install problems others don't, or did, but found a solution to the problem etc. Since I didn't have my copy yet, I wanted to gather as much info about it (reddit isn't always a good place) and on PushSquare nobody seem to have had any problems, as far as I know. Good thing is, bugs can be patched, but a game not installing (happens on other platform too), I remember Xbox 360 discs scratching due to overheating. I hope I'm not one of those unlucky ones and if I am, the solutions given, help. Though, Insomnia Games is one of the last devs I would expect to have problems releasing new games.
@themightyant The real problem is the sad people trying to weaponise things like this to push their own bias or fanboy arguments, they don't even see the irony that the account they are quoting is a parody of them.
Just to be clear, are you implying something? (since I'm the one quoting)

@themightyant I always expect bugs to happen nowadays. The cars' thing was kind of funny, but you know this will get fixed ASAP. I'm interested, though, what causes this to happen (and why people have them and others don't). Insomniac Spider-man games always had minor bugs, so I'm surprised there are so many to see. It's there where they announced the Gran Turismo movie was going to be made. It took them 10 years so not so easy as I thought it was.
Phantom Blade, new game from Giant Squid, Spider-Man 2 (no release date and felt a bit more of the same like GOWR but thatās ok) and some indies have my interest. Although I always lower my expectations, this was not very good overall. Missed Naughty Dog & SuckerPunch tbh ā¦

It's there where they announced the Gran Turismo movie was going to be made. It took them 10 years so not so easy as I thought it was.
