Tbh, I thought it was further away and wouldn’t make it in 2023 so it’s a nice surprise it gets a release this year. In hindsight, the game not being on my radar on a more constant basis is a good thing. We know the built quality is going to be stellar and that’s what counts imo.
Game looks awesome, the waves I saw were gorgeous but as a game it never clicked with me for some reason. But for the fans: may you enjoy your Aloy gaming days 😉
I'm in doubt of actually buying a new FF game. And FF7 on the PSX was my fave one but it didn't grow with me (don't like the time based mechanics anymore), even on the remake I had doubts but I liked the idea a whole lot. Actually when the director said it will be more like GOW, that took my interes to a new level, maybe the buying level one
Expected this since it’s 3x bigger than Fallen Order. Previews look very promising too. Loved the first one (except maybe the map?). It’s not open world but has open world gameplay if that makes sense. Looking forward to the more dynamic Jedi combat!
@LordBakemono Depends on who you ask and I totally understand when someone have played the game all over & over again. I usually don't mind when the game is kind of old and new gameplay elements can be added to stand the test of time (+good memories & nostalgia). And a lot of players can enjoy a game they never enjoyed before. GTA5 & TLOUP1 Remake is not needed imo but I'm just one gamer. And that last one I do want to replay it again, just not at that price point (bought it twice already). I have friends who never play a game twice. If it's done, it's done, not even 20 years later. They want to see new creative things in gaming. To a point I do agree with them because I would like to see some new game mechanics we never seen before or weren't possible before. Others can complete a game 4 times in row. It's not always complaining, people have preferences.
RE4 is the best RE for me personally (one of the best NGC titles) so I didn't mind a remake of this game. Normally I'd rather like to see new IP's but in the RE case I wouldn't mind a Dino Crisis of Code Veronica. I would like to know how much work/costs the RE remakes are in compairison to a new RE. I mean they have the experience with 2 & 3 so they most getting better at it! Or do they have a special Capcom team for these remakes?
I understand cross-gen the first year (if already in development) because of money related reasons (sales) but as a gamer I want it ASAP. Now we see PS4 games with PS5 features instead of a full blown PS5 game not even possible on a PS4. It's not even fair to PS4 owners having a lesser game because of it. If a dev releases a game on PS4, a PS4 owner has the right to expect a good quality game even if the gen is old.
@Loamy I don't disagree . "Big tech" companies became too big and there is no rewind button + in the game industry Sony's acting like one of them imo. In the gaming space MS is small compared to others and they need to compete (they don't stand any chance in Japan imo). ABK doesn't make them suddenly the number one in the industry. They still need to prove themselves in a way Sony already did, like in SP experiences.
Buying ABK doesn't mean succes instantly, so I'm very curious what will happen long term. There will be exclusives but a lot of them will stay multiplat, I'm sure.
Maybe I'm naive but MS as Xbox is doing something different. Gamers can be very loud if they aren't happy (the always online thing in Redfall).
The landscape will change, no doubt but I'm more curious of what Embracer Group and Tencent are doing between now and 5-10 years. Will there be another competitor on the market?
Will Apple make another console?
Google tried and failed but what if they had 3 new succesful IP's like a Halo, GOW, ... etc.?
What is next after ABK for MS but also for Sony who has to adapt?
Spending a lot of money is one thing, being succesful another.
Nintendo is also coming with something new (maybe it will feel like just an upgrade maybe they add something unexpected?)
Because at the end of the day, games are lucrative, hence making movies, series, ... about those games. Interesting times!
@Loamy Monopoly? As long asThe Embracer Group & Tencent are around (to name a few) no way that is going to happen imo.
I hope this deal will be good for gamers entirely. PS4 was the best generation with no real competition (Ninty doing its own thing). Sony was acting like Apple with making everything more expensive. They are businesses who want to make money, we all get that, but, do something that benefits gamers too. Playstation will stay at his number one position but it needs to be more creative than before. Maybe now these studio's can stop focussing on COD alone and make some new IP's. I'd rather have this than MS overbidding Sony everytime they are trying to moneyhat a 3rd party. Sony needs to invest that money into devs or new IP's. I remember how gamers reacted when MS tried to double the price of the service. The fact they didn't go through with it says a lot imo. They all need to co-exist!
Capcom is really killing it with these remakes. Can't wait since RE4 was always my favorite (former OG GameCube exclusive)! Didn't expect the 10 though.
A remake I will enjoy (loved the short demo) . One of my fave GameCube titles (& RE1). Revelations on 3DS, the rest are PS titles & only 1 Xbox (360) title, RE5. A franchise I like a lot! I hope Code Veronica or Dino Crisis is next on the list for Capcom! About spoilers: there are always people who never played the game so … Personally, I think it’s almost been 15 years since I replayed the game myself and we’ll worth to revisit!
Not worried, there are a lot of games in development. I wouldn’t mind some updates on how those are going. Maybe some returning IP’s! And PSVR2 ofc. I really want to hear about some stuff regarding ND & SP. After ABK is done, they can concentrate back on themselves, like Ninty always does!
Even game titles aren't original anymore. Ivory Tower was founded by former Eden Games developers (Test Drive Unlimited) so hopefully that is a good thing. But an OG Xbox/PS4 version ??? There were so many issues with the Crew 2 ...
Enjoyed a lot of the RR (Rage+Ridge Racer) games on PSX, PSP (still playing the first one), PS2, ... Would love to see it come back this generation (+ other racer Motorstorm)
If I had a Digital PS5 definitely (if it works on every PS5 + to save money) but maybe it could be a cheaper solution when your drive stops working properly after many years and repair costs are higher?
I would never buy a new PS5 Pro console but I would buy some sort of upgrade add-on if that was possible & pricing was affordable.
This is my overall fave dev and, as a consumer, I haven't been disappointed for a long time now (except in Sony's pricing the remake). They are very good in what they do so I can only expect polish and overall quality! Very curious on the creative approach!
It's a nich market & I kinda knew they would re-release a lot of those first generation games . Only a few, maybe, give a free updated version of the first one, and sell the sequel? (if the last one is a new title). Sony seems to believe in it so they most think more people are up for it? Big gamble! Half-Life: Alyx can make or brake this thing imo!
I'll catch up with the announcements later cause I hate (with a passion) watching ads + parents don't want me to be up too late either, show is way past my bedtime (timezone)
Edit: Kojima appearing = a dead giveaway too (guess the timestamp)
@Uncharted2007 I found GOWR for €60 new physical but seeing a digital €80 price on PSN makes it more easier to let games go and wait for a price drop. And GOWR is a polished title! I bought Grid Legends SE full price but the DLC is/was questionable & in hindsight I should have waited, lesson learned!
It's all personal if a game is worth it. Even if it costs more to make, the market has grown a lot too ...
And as if Sony was going to lower their game prices ... Xbox bumping prices feels more justified for Sony? I really think they don't care about their consumers.
I want to see the Burnout franchise return but didn't like Paradise too much. Crash model was great but I missed something.

Gran Turismo franchise

Crash Team Racing
F1 franchise
Horizon Chase Turbo

older games like PGR, Burnout (1-3), Split Second, Daytona USA, Sega Rally, ...
