Re: Will Bethesda's Games Be Exclusive to Xbox From Now On? We Don't Know Yet

SegaBlueSky

@AFCC It's a hard one to call - on the flip side, can they possibly afford not to publish the games on PS5? They just spent nearly the entire operating profit of PlayStation between 2013-2019 on ONE acquisition. Even with Microsoft's vast fortune, how long does an investment like this take to be profitable? Or do they just write it off for the sake of bragging rights and not really worry about if/when it makes its money back?

Not an easy answer and I'll be fascinated to see how they handle it.

Re: The Elder Scrolls, Fallout Developer Bethesda Bought By Microsoft

SegaBlueSky

Absolutely incredible power play by Microsoft. Wow oh wow. Never would have expected that, what a win for them. Can't remember an announcement this major in recent memory.

Personally, it doesn't affect my next gen plans, because I'm not a fan of Bethesda's games in the slightest, but it's impossible not to recognize that thisis absolutely seismic. Incredible.

Re: No Man’s Sky Origins Is Latest Major Update, Releases Next Week

SegaBlueSky

I still go back to NMS every time there's an update and easily get another 20-30 hours out of it minimum. Absolute gem of a game that I've really enojyed from day one. Only regret is that I haven't got a PSVR to try it out that way, so I'm hoping we can do so with whatever VR solution comes to PS5 via backwards compatibility or a next gen patch.

Re: PS5 Game Install Sizes Revealed, And They're Enormous

SegaBlueSky

Apart from the 105 Spider Man ultimate edition, those sizes don't seem thaaat bad to me? Demon's Souls fat 60GB is less than I would have expected. And even then, with Spider-Man that's basically two games and fairly chunky DLC for the first one. I assume you don't have to have both of them installed at the same time, either.

Re: The Dream Is Dead: PS5 Will Not Play PS3, PS2, or PS1 Games

SegaBlueSky

It would have been cool, but not too bothered in all honesty. I've still got my PS3 and have no real reason to get rid of it, so if I get desperate for some retro games I'll just fire that up. I'm sure we'll see PS Now grow during the PS5 generation as well, so there's lots of possibilities there.

Re: Poll: Will You Buy a PS5?

SegaBlueSky

Not fussed about pre-ordering - not the right time for me right now, so I'll probably pick one up next year at some point. It's definitely the console for me though and it's jus a question of when, not if.

Re: Talking Point: Did the PS5 Showcase Event Deliver?

SegaBlueSky

Demons Souls and Miles Morales looking every bit as fantastic as I hoped! God of War in 2021 is earlier than expected too! Oh and love the look of FFXVI, can tell it’s the team from XIV and that fills me with a lot of confidence. Price and release was pretty much as expected so happy with that too. Hype!

Re: Talking Point: What Will Be Announced at PS5 Showcase Event?

SegaBlueSky

@TheFrenchiestFry I'd love MvC4 as well but realistically, I don't think that's ever going to happen. Infinite was an unmitigated disaster and I wouldn't expect that Capcom would want to get their fingers burnt again with that franchise.

Personally, I'm expecting this to be a fairly simple affair. Expanded looks at a few key titles will be the main thing, a handful of announcements for further down the line, and the all-important price and release date.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want to See at PS5's Showcase Event?

SegaBlueSky

I worry that there's going to be a LOT of disappointed people at this rate, if I'm honest. Like, Nintendo Direct levels of disappointment. Hope I'm wrong but I just don't see all these finer details being discussed all that much.

I'm expecting new footage of launch titles and some new reveals. Anything on top of that is a bonus but I have a feeling we might have a second presentation in a week or so with more hardware-specific talk.

Re: Fans Expect Final Fantasy 16 to Be Announced for PS5 Next Week

SegaBlueSky

@kiki3400 Ah yes that would have been a very different experience then! I toyed with the idea of buying the Royal Edition but since it had been so long since I played the original it just felt like too little, too late, too expensive. But hey, I'm still a Final Fantasy fan through and through so I'll be excited for XVI whenever it appears, I'm sure.

Re: Godfall Gets Its Best PS5 Trailer Yet

SegaBlueSky

It's a much nicer trailer than before, but still looks a little generic for me, personally. I don't expect every game to break to mould but gameplay wise this seems very old school with not much interesting going on to balance that out. Like it could be a PS2/PS3 action game, just with a nicer sheen to it. We'll see though, open to having my mind changed when review time comes along.

Re: Fans Expect Final Fantasy 16 to Be Announced for PS5 Next Week

SegaBlueSky

@kiki3400 In parts XV was awesome, but once you got to that one milestone in the story it just started to fall apart, and the way they plugged the gaps with DLC really rubbed me up the wrong way personally. Really wanted to love it but as the end credits rolled I felt a bit empty. Definitely think your opinion is 100% valid though and I absolutely know other people that didn't find the issues as jarring as I did.

Re: Hotshot Racing Out Today on PS4, Devs Already Working on Free DLC

SegaBlueSky

Downloaded at lunch and already blasted through the four GPs on normal mode - absolutely love it so far, like the review said the handling is spot on. The rubber banding is well judged too, enough to keep games close but not so much that it gets annoying. Had plenty of races where a crucial boost just got me over the line in time, it's so much fun.

Haven't tried any of the other modes yet but looking forward to trying them out later. I can see me completing the core content fairly quickly so it's great to see that they're coming out with more content already. Can't wait!

Re: Reaction: Why Hasn't PS5's Price and Release Date Been Revealed Yet?

SegaBlueSky

The price point is an interesting one, Sony don't need to match the Xbox pricing IMO, but if they wanted to do I reckon they could afford the financial hit and deal MS a proper sucker punch. Very much doubt it'll happen though. Like Sammy says I expect all will be revealed within the next week otherabouts. Either way I'm getting a PS5 - it's got the games I want and that's all there is to it. But I fully expect to pick up an Xbox Series S/X at some point too, probably on one of those 2 year payment deals when I switch to a cheaper phone contract.

Re: Reaction: PS5 Price Under Scrutiny After Disruptive Xbox Series S Reveal

SegaBlueSky

Fantastic announcement by Microsoft - it's a perfect solution for a "second console", kids, anyone on a tighter budget etc - which is a LOT of the market. I fully intend to make the PS5 my main next gen console but at this price I'd be very tempted to pick up a Series S for GamePass alone so I can play Fable, Forza and Hellblade at a cheaper price.

Re: Sony's Sending Out Yet Another Wave of PS5 Emails

SegaBlueSky

@Steve30000 that’s obviously not what I meant. I love games and can’t wait for the next generation. And sure, I’m surprised there’s not more info and wish we knew more. But getting outraged is utterly ridiculous. We know roughly when it’s coming out and roughly what it’s going to cost. People just need to chill and wait for the info. It’ll come eventually.

Re: Sony's Sending Out Yet Another Wave of PS5 Emails

SegaBlueSky

Don't get me wrong, I'm getting very impatient waiting for more info and I wish Sony would have shared more by now. But the hysterical way people on here and across the internet are going on...have some self-respect people and just chill. It's only a games console.
