Re: Vince Zampella Defends PS5 Pro Price, Says 'It's Actually Not That Bad'

SegaBlueSky

@Northern_munkey yeah I’d agree with that, very well put.

My only concern is what it potentially means for PS6, admittedly a fair ways down the road - will we be returning to a base level that console gamers are more accustomed to, or are Sony going to push for the best tech they can at this new price point and hope the PS5 Pro has taken the shock of that price tag away? Time will tell but it makes me wonder if that might be a bad omen for more casual fans.

Re: Bungie Apologises for Its Widespread Destiny 2 DLC Launch Issues

SegaBlueSky

I dunno, I feel like folks are being a little harsh. Most live service games have significant issues when they launch. Bungie have been going through tough times both financially and reputationally, so honestly it must be a nightmare for whoever's job it is to keep the lights on (server wise, I mean) when the company's resources are probably being stretched as thinly as they can possibly get away with.

It's one day into the launch, folks just need to chill a bit and let the thing settle rather than branding everyone at the developer a moron. It's so infantile.

Anyways, not trying to 100% absolve them of blame or anything and not even sure why I care exactly - haven't played Destiny in a long, long time. Just a bit sick of all the negativity in games.

Re: Stellar Blade PS5 Fans Irate Over Alleged Censorship

SegaBlueSky

@Almost_Ghostly Im not really a fan of games that use “jiggle physics” to excite a bunch of nerds. I could maybe ignore it but the fact that said manbabies are arguing with each other over the internet about it makes it even less appealing. That’s the shame - a good game that would have been every bit as good without all of this going on, which I don’t want to be associated with. And no, it’s not my loss - there’s literally too many excellent games out there to play and this one doesn’t make the grade because of those reasons. I’m not the one missing out.

Aaaaand this kind of discourse is why I will sadly be avoiding an otherwise seemingly excellent game. Just a big “nah”. Shame. Either way, hope those who pick up the game enjoy it and those who feel the need to actually petition developers over this manage to find something better to do with their time.

Re: Tren Sends Media Molecule's Dreams Out in Style

SegaBlueSky

Echoing what a lot of others said, I'd have gladly paid for a standalone PS5 version of this. Great little game and my kid is loving it. Tried browsing for some other stuff in Dreams but didn't find anything particularly compelling at a first glance - will try to get back to it for a deeper look eventually but I can see how it could be a drawback for the game as a platform. Also a bit annoying to have to go through a Dreams tutorial before I could access Tren.

Re: Reaction: Sony Flubs First Proper PS5 Presentation in Over 18 Months

SegaBlueSky

I thought it was OK. Too many dull shooty AAA games (yawn) and the inevitably rubbish GT movie but there was still some nice stuff in there. Phantom Blade 0, Spider-Man, Final Fantasy XVI and Alan Wake 2 were the highlights from the AAA side for me and I’m really excited for the indie titles they showed. The streaming handheld and headphones look good too, interested in maybe picking those up.

But yeah, I guess the heady heights of Sony’s E3 shows a few years back are gone for good and that is disappointing for sure.

Re: Destiny 3 Begins Trending on Twitter As Fans Are Fed Up with Current Game

SegaBlueSky

I was gifted a code for the new expansion so I thought I’d give it a go after not really playing since Destiny 1. I’m enjoying it - there’s fun to be had for sure. But the story is poorly acted nonsense for the most part, and it’s ridiculously unfriendly to new users. Also visually it’s really showing it’s age. When I heard the new expansion was set in a neon lit city I thought it sounded cool but it looks so dull and the citizens are just low detail holograms for some arbitrary and barely plausible reason. Despite all that I’m finding it enjoyable and I’ll probably play for the rest of the season, but have to admit I’d definitely be up for a sequel that simplifies the story and ups the production values.

Re: Poll: Will You Pay the PSVR2 Launch Price?

SegaBlueSky

Wasn't sure yesterday but after thinking about it I'm tempted to go for it - missed out on VR last gen and I want to see what all the fuss is about. If I don't enjoy it I expect I'll easily be able to get the money back as they're bound to be in short supply.
