Re: 'We Still Have More Characters to Announce': ArcSys Promises Big 2026 for Marvel Tokon as Community Sours on PS5, PC Fighter

SegaBlueSky

I do agree that having separate health bars would probably be preferable, found that I usually stuck to my primary character in battle unless the action forced me to switch. Still really enjoyed it though. I think my only real concern is that the roster will be very slowly increased over time - I understand the need for managing dev costs but as a big fan of MvC I hope they get a good router to go for launch at least.

Re: 'How Do We Help Her Evolve?': Crystal Dynamics on Reimagining Tomb Raider's Lara Croft for a New Era

SegaBlueSky

I'm excited about the return of classic Lara. I couldn't care less what she looks like, but I preferred her characterization in the earlier games, along with the fact they were a bit sillier and more bombastic. Love the history and mythology running through them. The survivor trilogy was good (especially the first one), but just didn't get me hooked in quite the same way. Lara seemed a fairly unlikeable and in making her more realistic they just seemed to make her a bit whiny, particularly in the final game.

Re: The Game Awards 2025 Predictions: PS5 Games, the Muppets, and Geoff Keighley's Shoes

SegaBlueSky

@Ainu20 I agree that Expedition 33 isn't the only one that's pulled that before. Pretty sure I've seen the same discourse around Hollow Knight too, though. And it's only natural that a game dominating awards season is viewed under a finer microscope than its peers, so that's why we're even having this conversation in the first place.

And IMO, there is potentially a huge difference between a core group of 30 devs vs a core group of 250 devs - the scope of work covered by those two different groups is likely massively different (ie. which elements of development are carried out in-house vs outsourced). I guess we could closely examine both team compositions, but that is something I have neither the time or interest to do, tbh.

@Ainu20 Because there was a fair bit of clamour online about how this was a game "made by 30 people" when it turns out that couldn't have been less true. Still a great game though, just seems like a bit of good natured cynicism by Stephen, nothing to worry about.

Anyways, this article was miles more entertaining than the actual show, so bravo. I won't watch it but will skip through the highlights the next day for any interesting trailers. Hoping for some Marvel Tokon roster additions, personally.

Re: Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Beta: All Start Times, How to Play, and What's Included

@MichaelNau Really enjoying it - I bounced off the last Guilty Gear I played but finding this much more intuitive. I’m a very casual fighting game player so I’ve been playing a lot of CPU matches to get a feel for it. Do wish they’d included training mode though, and I really wish there was a photo mode so I could snoop around at the backgrounds, haha. Performance and visual are absolutely amazing, pretty certain I’ll be picking it up day 1.

Re: Poll: Five Years of PS5 - How Would You Rate Sony's Console?

SegaBlueSky

It’s been fine, but I think it peaked too soon. Nothing has topped Demon Souls and Ratchet and Clank for me. Oh actually, GoW Ragnarok was amazing too, to be fair. The PS4 generation by comparison though was just banger after banger and was probably one of the best consoles I’ve ever owned. PS5 has been fine but I’m ready for Sony to get back to what they do best. Feels like that won’t happen this gen so I’m looking forward to seeing what PS6 has to offer.

Re: Here's Your First Look at Sony's Zelda Movie, Film Shots Revealed

SegaBlueSky

It’s…fine, I guess? Honestly the whole thing baffles me a little bit. Might be a spicy take but honestly I’ve always thought the plot of basically all the Zelda games has been pretty rubbish, so I don’t really see how a film is going to work. Like, would you make it super arty and minimal, or are they going to add a load of stuff that just doesn’t generally happen in the games to pad it out? Is it going to be a bit Indiana Jonesish with a focus on exploring trap-laden locations with big set pieces? I say this as a fan of the games, no shade intended, but to me it’s always been a series about mechanics, gameplay and puzzles - not plot. But hey, interested to see what happens either way.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for November 2025?

SegaBlueSky

II thought it was pretty good, a few games I’m interested in that I didn’t know about before and that new Blazblue game looked great. Praying for beta access to Marvel Tokon this time around - I really need to try it! I think anyone expecting megaton announcements was setting themselves up for disappointment. Oh the horror game on show all looked great too!

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for November 2025 Announced

SegaBlueSky

Downloaded Stray when it originally hit PS Plus but never finished it before it left, so great chance to finish that off. Might check out TABS as well, spotted it on Steam originally and thought it looked like silly fun but probably not the kind of thing I’d outright buy.

Re: Preview: Marvel Tokon's Biggest Battle Isn't in the Arena

SegaBlueSky

As a very casual player of such games, the roster is definitely key for me. Was always able to play loads of Marvel vs Capcom 2 because the roster was enormous, loved trying out different combos of characters and seeing what they could do. If this is truly limited to 16 characters then I'd need to be interested in ranking up online and trying to be competitive, which I'm not. Really want to love this game but also trying to be pragmatic and see it for what it is.

Re: PS Plus Looks Better Than Ever After New Xbox Game Pass Price Rises

SegaBlueSky

There’s a part of me that actually kinda applauds the move, because it did seem like an insane deal to offer so many day 1 games and I’m of the opinion that it was actively harming the industry by devaluing the games it was so readily giving away. Felt like we were on a similar trajectory to Spotify, which has irreparably harmed the music industry.

I won’t subscribe to a service that expensive personally, but I’m also OK with actually buying the games I want to play. It’ll be fascinating to see if it results in more revenue for devs releasing on Xbox than before. I really hope it does.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for September 2025?

SegaBlueSky

Nothing that interested me until Wolverine at the very end, a lot of very generic looking things for the most part. Even then, I wouldn’t say I was blown away by the Wolverine trailer the same way I was when they first revealed Spider-Man, but I trust Insomniac to deliver where it counts!

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Beta: All Start Times, How to Play, and What's Included

SegaBlueSky

Been playing a bunch over the weekend and unfortunately, I hate it. I had really high hopes but there’s almost nothing I enjoy. There’s a lot of detail I could go into but ultimately, a lot could be summed up by “too much going on”. It’s super cluttered in every sense, from visuals to gameplay mechanics and audio. Feels messy and doesn’t hit the right nostalgia buttons for me so I’ll be going back to Transformed on PC instead. What a shame.
