Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4) - The Potential of a Masterpiece, Totally and Utterly Unrealised

SegaBlueSky

Every day a new headline makes me want to buy this less and less. Hope the PS5 version reflects a more polished final product. I feel so bad for the developers that have poured so much of their lives into this and crunched so badly to get it even to this state. Not their fault and I wouldn't want to villify them.

If ever a game was to be a poster child for "AAA games are too big, are sold too cheaply and cost too much to make", this is it. This model of development is not healthy or sustainable.

This is an excellent review though so far and I think made the right call in being unscored for now. I hope CDPR can fix the issues and make everyone happy as it's clear there's loads of potential, but I also hope it learns its lessons ahead of its next project.

Re: Talking Point: Did The Game Awards 2020 Meet Your Expectations?

SegaBlueSky

It was OK! Decent enough, but I don't think it actually focuses on the awards enough. It has a bit of an identity crisis where it wants to be the Oscars and the Superbowl all in one, and it doesn't quite mesh. Felt a bit of a shame to have so many awards that were just rushed through without giving the devs chance to talk.

Re: Destiny 2 (PS5) - A Solid Update for Hardcore Players

SegaBlueSky

I'm tempted to give Destiny 2 a go at long last with the PS5 update. Enjoyed the first game but haven't touched the sequel, so I'll probably hop on it to get through the basic content and then move on. Sounds like the PS5 update has been well implemented for the most part, but it's a shame the haptics haven't been included (yet).

Re: No Man's Sky (PS5) - Divisive Survival Game Plays Best with This Next-Gen Upgrade

SegaBlueSky

If ever a game should be exempt from scoring, it's NMS. It's a very different experience for different people. No problem with the 7/10 score - but people should just understand that if it's their type of game, it'll be a very different opinion.

I enjoyed the launch experience back in the day, as what I wanted was just a chill exploration game that I could zone out with and enjoy some pretty vistas. It did outstay its welcome eventually but I was happy with what I had. The updates though are absolutely astounding, and has breathed new life into the game for me alongside the amazing PS5 visual and performance upgrades.

That's the one criticism of the review I have, that it could possibly contain a rundown of some of the major new features and showcase their potential a little bit. I think if I was coming in to the game fresh but was unsure about it, I'm not sure this would have helped me make my mind up one way or the other. But, the argument there is that there's plenty of other places to get that information too.

Re: Site News: Where's Our Cyberpunk 2077 Review?

SegaBlueSky

I'd much rather a late review that really gets down into the nuts and bolts of this game than one that's barely scraped the surface to meet the embargo. Got plenty of other games to play right now, I'll revisit Cyberpunk in 2021 when the PS5 version is here and people have had time to really get into it.

Re: Round Up: Cyberpunk 2077 Reviews Mark Another Epic RPG

SegaBlueSky

I'm leaving Cyberpunk for a good few months at the very least, until the PS5 version is ready. It looks incredible in so many ways, and very questionable in other areas, like representation for one thing. Going to hang back and wait for the long-term reviews, where people have spent 100+ hours in the game and have had time to digest it. Then I'll have a look at all the opinions and decide whether I give it a shot or not. We'll see.

Re: Feature: Our PS5 Predictions for The Game Awards 2020

SegaBlueSky

My most realistic prediction would be a new trailer for Elden Ring, it's past due at this point.

Dream announcements would be:
PSP 5G
FF7R next-gen
Silent Hill
Bloodborne Remastered
Spider-Man 2 would be amazing to but think it's massively unlikely with MM only just on the market.

Re: The Last of Us 2 Sweeps The Golden Joysticks with Five Awards

SegaBlueSky

Adored TLoU2, not surprised to see it picked up so many awards last night. Congrats to the team and can't wait to see what Naughty Dog will do on PS5!

Also, big middle finger to the toxic minority that continue to mask their prejudices and fuel their entitlement by hounding this game like it took a dump on their hands.

Re: Poll: Did You Get a PS5?

SegaBlueSky

Very happy with my PS5 so far. Demon's Souls is everything I hoped, Astro Bot is the closest any 3D platformer I've played recently has got to Nintendo standards, and Bugsnax is a fun little game too. Also installed No Man's Sky and Shadow of the Colossus, but haven't tried them out yet.

The controller really is the main talking point - love the triggers and haptics. Feeling individual raindrops on your hands in Astro is so, so cool. Can't wait to see how other games use this.

There's a bit of noise every now and then, like booting up from scratch or installing a game but overall it's been very quiet too and I don't notice it at all while I'm playing. Everything is super slick and it all just looks and feels very high tech and new.

My one and only complaint right now is the PS Store - which really needs an update or two, IMO. No dedicated sales tab is a pain, and I don't seem to be able to find avatars to purchase anymore, which seems a bit weird. I'm sure it'll get better with time though, and having a wishlist on the actual console is great.

Re: Hands On: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Is a Papercraft Marvel on PS5

SegaBlueSky

Definitely grabbing this at some point, it really gives me an impression of being a co-op Tearaway/LBP mashup and I can really imagine having a lot of fun with my wife on this one as we were both constantly leaning over each other's shoulders when we played Tearaway back in the day on our Vitas. The chance to have that as a shared experience is very appealing.
