@TrannosaurusBex Well, that's how it works for public companies. You fail to make more profit each year, bad news for shareholders - stocks drop, then cut jobs - stocks rise, good news for shareholders. It's a vicious cicle.
Only a privately or state owned company can eat decreasingly low or no profits, to a degree.

@Rmg0731 I know, but don't think they'd bother with DS featusers without Sony involvement and also it has physical disc versions only on Playstation systems, but that may be because Xbox fans are kinda done with buying physical.

You forgot about Eternights, F.I.S.T, The Ascent. I'm sure they worked with these teams as well. The Ascent has some of the best use of the Dualsense, it even freakin uses the controller speaker. 😄

The Plucky Squire, Ultros, No Rest for the Wicked, Animal Well and Cat Quest 3 look amazing. Eiyuden is already preordered, but I wouldn't call it indie. If you call it indie, then Octopath is the same.

@somnambulance Nice that someone else knows about Ultros. PS5 physical exclusive btw, just like Gamedec and Wizard with a Gun. Trying to get them all.

Agree that physical games are cheaper these days especially for PS4 and PS5. Nintendo Switch on the other hand, good luck with that, especially 1st party.

@UltimateOtaku91 Look at some of the first trailers for this game. I couldn't play it. It takes me out of the experience. I'm so used to Japan language in video games though, I play all jrpgs non dubbed. I find it so good sounding, it's like melody to my ears, very harmonious.

Hoping the delay is to add Japaneese or English voices. I can't stand coreean or chineese voices, don't know why. I won't buy any of Sony's China Hero Project games, if they don't have at least Japaneese voices.

I have all the 6 God of War games on PS3. They are still very good to play, not aged at all, as some other people stated.
I would be happy with just all games ported to PS5 on 1 disc, excluding GoW 3, which is already playable on PS5, but I know a lot of people will complain if they are simple ports.

@Mad001 Yea, don't know what these guys commenting are smoking. Maybe they should move and live in China and then they'll start missing their lost freedom. The only thing western societies should change is breeding stupid and incompetent people which I'm seeing more and more these days. This and missinformation is our biggest hurdle, and they go hand in hand. Well educated people can think for themselves and are not manipulated by politicians as easily.

This is why work from home is slowly dying. Biggest leaks in the past few years happened because of wfh, as much as I enjoy staying at home to work and not wasting my time on the road.

It must have been a contractor or someone from inside the company with bad intentions. How the hell do you transfer 1.7 TB outside the company network and the IT dept doesn't get triggered. That or their security is poor. Nowadays everyone should have 2 factor authentication with their mobile phone to even log in through a VPN.

@CieloAzure I really hope they don't go all in on the Gamepass model, but they might need to do it. Microsoft is training the younger generations to only want this type of services and Sony will need to keep up.
MS is paying for whole lineup of Atlus and Sega games to be on GP Day 1, not to mention other new games.
Can Sony really afford that?

@KundaliniRising333 Discs not containing the game is a myth in itself. Other than Call of Duty (which is just a license on disc), most games have full game playable from disc, without the Day 1 patch obviously.
There are some exceptions like Avatar and Star Wars Jedi Survivor which have mandatory updates to even play the game, but these are very few.

As with Baldur's Gate 3, I will buy a copy after it releases on disc.

This is why cybersecurity business is very on demand and hiring for big paychecks, from what I heard. Best cybersecurity specialists are former hackers anyway.

@OM1993 I ain't. It's just crappy gamepass fodder anyway. SM2 didn't win anything because it couldn't in the categories it was nominated to be honest.

They gave 2 awards to crappy Forza and nothing to Spider Man 2. It's clear who showed up with the money this year.

The badly reviewed RTS Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin got a physical print recently.

Dirt 5 is their best game. It's like they took the rally part of Forza Horizon and made a circuit only racer. The physics are very similar. Wish we'd get more of that.
Rest of their games are very borring, at least for me.

I'm still seeing stocks of the original disc model going for 440 Euro. Now it's the time to buy, imho.
Spider-Man Limited Edition one is 540 Euro, still in stock, also Spider-Man non LE for 500 E.
Don't think they'll sell the slim here until they get rid of these.
Also, where I'm from they give you discs with these bundles, not vouchers.

This will be much better once they allow it to use the PS Plus Streaming function that's exclusive to PS5 console atm.

To people crying about PSN prices, you either don't wait for sales or don't buy physical. I have never bought a digital game Day 1. There are new sales every week, the longer you wait, the more you save.

Wouldn't mind it on Plus, but I'll also get it on disc once it drops to 20€.

@DonaldMcRonald No, Xbox discs have 50 GB space only, not 100 GB like PS5 ones.
You'll see it on many games that pass 50 GB, the Xbox version comes with 2 discs.

Being single is cheaper and less headaches anyway. 😀 Too much to give up for 2 minutes of pleasure.

Bad move by Square to sell those studios and IPs to these guys. Imagine a world where Sony owned both Uncharted and Tomb Raider.

Weirdly enough, this summer I was about to let my Essential sub lapse, but they offered me dedicated 25% deal for continuing with it. Think they have an automated system that gives people discounts right before the sub is about to end. This was a month before Days of Play, I could have gotten a 30% discount if I had waited. 😄

Outstanding, and at a great price too for a new game. I got a physical copy for 43€. Square Enix is good with choosing prices for its games. Tactics Ogre Reborn was 38€ when it launched. They also have published more games on PS5 than Sony itself did this gen, which shows just how abysmal Sony's 1st party output has been apart from the first year.

Bought a copy myself. It's a great mix of Omega Force Action RPG style with Persona demon collection/fusion.
Fun to platinum also, though grindy.

In translation: we can only deliver 6 live service games, though we said we'll make 12. They just don't want to be frank because it doesn't sound appealing to the shareholders.

When you consider that there are at least 30 mil Switches sold in Japan vs 10 mil PS consoles, that Star Ocean ratio isn't actually bad on the PS side, no matter what Sony haters will say.

Physical should always be an option. As some people already said it, reselling a recently released used game can get you 80% of your money back. Try getting something back from your digital collection. Its only value is a sentimental one.
Oh, and Nintendo games hold value like nothing else. Try starting a Switch collection and see if you can buy any used game for under 35$.

I don't know why, but I find all Codemasters racing games very borring, except for Dirt 5. That's the only game I enjoyed from them and still play it from time to time.
