Hopefully they get Bungie involved pretty quickly. This has HUGE potential if the gameplay and modes are varied and developed.
Getting seasonal stories and overarching world changes like Destiny plus various modes like BR, Factions, Camp management, solo PvE content, etc would be REALLY GOOD.
I wonder if the colorations have begun or if they’re going to wait until it closes. I’m sure Sony wants input ASAP as they work to launch Factions 2.0 and more
Even with uncharted being TR’s main competitor - they could have leapfrogged the franchises every few years to lessen any franchise fatigue but still maintain absolute dominance in that style of game.
Seems a little late to be hiring for this position, there will always be taken acquisition but it feels like this current time frame is going to have the biggest moves for the foreseeable future.
How’s the difficulty? It looks like a fun game I want to try out soon but its not my typical style and I don’t want to get frustrated and stop plying it quickly if it’s hard or makes me use tons of items/buildcrafting to advance.
I kinda wanna play for fun/turn off my brain a bit.
I haven’t been a fan of their communication tactics but I’ve also been very out of touch with how social media/influencers work these days to get news out.
Maybe they’re more aware of how the casual audience absorbs news and this tactic works to reach those people?
I wish the names were less confusing. It just doesn’t have the same ‘ring’ or clear marketing that ‘Gamepass’ does. I have a good idea what a Gamepass is without knowing anything about it.
PlayStation Plus Premium? What does that tell me lol. It’s like Capcom and their Street Fighter Signa X Pro Flying V Guitar Edition titles.
Also I hope they continue to build the ‘classic’ library of games and not just stop where it’s at.
As a big fan of the franchise, I enjoyed it much more then I expected.
I do love these types of movies in general but there were enough nods to the games that it felt pretty good as an ‘uncharted’ movie but didn’t retread the games too much which was refreshing.
Nolan north cameo is probably my favorite cameo of all time.
Spoiler alert: My only gripe was the lack of supernatural enemies. Hopefully the sequel will follow the first game with them tho.
It’s a shame Death Stranding gets such a bad reputation. The beginning two or three chapters are a bit of a slog (and maybe a misstep on the devs part for how long it is) but after that, vehicles and combat and the different suits and such make it pretty fun.
The story is really engaging and unique. Glad I played it. Not one I’d personally replay, but I was happy for the experience and would encourage people to give it a shot (and not judge it on the opening hours)
I’m sure the negative avengers press, lack of Big Marvel film hype around release. And the fact that the character models look nothing like the big screen counterpart, really slowed the interest from casual fans (myself included)
I’m pretty excited for this. Hopefully the changes are all positives and the biggest thing they need to do is ADD content, not take away like they did with RE3. It was far too short of an experience.
Okay. So what about the immensely popular Elder Scrolls games?
Seems like a chicken fight here to see who’s gonna pull content first.
With Sony having some ammo in the form of Bungie, it’s mutually beneficial for them to be sharing some franchises cross console with all the DLC purchases. Especially as bungie goes multi-IP
@IonMagi oh I forgot about those ‘demo’ type games that came out.
Is there a reason why their output slowed? I think GT5 was due to them modeling 1000 high def cars but I would assume they’re not remodeling those every time now?
@IonMagi didn’t they only really have 1 release on PS3 as well?? I remember GT5 being hotly anticipated on that system for a long time, and many complaints about the time to release.
And GT6 basically launched at the start of PS4 I think.
@Shepherd_Tallon I’ve just hopped back in after playing a ton at launch.
I’m having a blast again! I do find it confusing what content is and isn’t available haha. And not a fan of them removing old content like the original raid and stuff.
I’m hoping Sony includes old DLC as a part of PS+ revamp. It’s kind of expensive to get all of it to catch back up haha
They had been a 2 game at a time studio since U2 launched I think right?
I’d imagine it’s the same thing, but with the addition of the spun off multiplayer team working on Factions - which I guess at this point isn’t just a small tie in but legit big budget multiplayer game.
Hoping to see a cool new IP - preferably based on Savage Starlight
@Amnesiac That a really good point I hadn’t thought about.
The F2P model we see on phones is annoying enough. Through a subscription service if $ is based on overall playtime and MTX, it’s gonna be awful with bloated games etc
@vapidwolf1 Yes I prefer physical if it’s a 1:1 in price.
But if it’s 70$ vs included in my 15$ a month sub…..I’ll play it on the sun and when it drops in price buy the physical if I like the game.
I’m also the type of person that will still buy CDs if I like the album (I primarily use a streaming service), so I understand that I’m in a massive minority here with this lol
@Col_McCafferty 100%. It’ll be like Netflix etc once it reaches market dominance. Prices will rise, content will continue to be ‘meh’ quality and some form of ‘canceling after season 2’ once the hype dies will occur like it does with Netflix.
I absolutely hate the concept of Gamepass and what it’ll probably do to the industry, but when looking at my wallet, it’s very enticing right now haha.
Overall I’d much rather pay 60/70$ for a high quality game. Sometimes I just have to skip out on some releases or wait for sales depending on how many things launch at the same time. This is a hard month with all the good games coming out.
@PapaGlitch That’s a good point too. More games need options to install 4k textures etc. I’d rather have reduced file size then top notch graphics that my terribles eyes barely notice anyways haha
@get2sammyb If you buy the PS4 copy, won’t you need to then keep a large download (upgrade) file on your PS5 as well?
With the limited storage I’d rather not download an upgrade file every time I go back to revisit the game.
I know I’m in the minority on that but it’s still a thought haha.
And yeah, can’t play Horizon on Xbox but when the reality of spending 70$ on a new game hits (last full price game I got was RE8, so it’s not often for me these days) it makes you do a double take and reconsider financial choices lol.
We all see what’s happening in the streaming space like Netflix etc.
This is the only move that makes sense for traditional console makers to keep up. Lock in as much original content as you can to keep people subscribed. If Sony didn’t start doing this they’d only get left behind as a storefront leader and become like Sega etc when the inevitable streaming future becomes the norm.

Re: Hideo Kojima Reportedly Developing a Horror Game Named Overdose
I wish there would be some sort of spoiler tag in headlines and thumbnails here. This is the only gaming site I go on and I like surprises.
Re: Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Is the Official Name of BioWare's Fourth Entry
@Ryguy2784 that was the first thing I though too. The neon small line weight font looks more futuristic then something I associate with medieval.
Re: Sony 'Not at All Finished' Growing PlayStation Studios via Acquisitions
Thankfully they understand the landscape is changing and are doing what they can to keep up.
I’m sure Nintendo will always have its share of the market, but it’ll continue to be more niche then what Sony and MS will be doing in 5 or 10 years.
Re: PlayStation London Studio Seems to Be Making a Fantasy-Based Live Service Game
I’d be down for this!
Re: GreedFall 2: The Dying World Announced for 2024
I LOVED the original! Really need to get back to it for the platinum and do the DLC.
Super excited to get another experience inside this world! It has so much potential waiting to be explored!
Re: The Tomorrow Children Will Feature Community-Designed Islands in PS4 Revival
Dang, was hoping to try this out as F2P. I don’t see myself paying for this given it’s history
Re: Dying Light Dev Is Making an Open World Fantasy Action RPG
I loved Dying Light, haven’t played the second yet but this could be cool!
I hope they don’t take another 6 years or whatever it was between dying light though!
Re: Sony Shares First Look at PS Plus Extra, Premium Games
Hmm I’ve been looking forward to the PS1/2/3 list and if this is a short highlight…..dang….I’m a bit disappointed
Re: Despite FTC Investigation, Sony Expects Bungie Acquisition to Close This Year

Re: Elden Ring's Platinum Trophy Stat Is Shockingly High
I’m always shocked at how high many platinums are. Even 5% seems high for a lot of games that require you to do more then just beat the story.
Almost everyone I know don’t bother going for platinums.

I was kinda wondering what happened to this thing.

Re: PS Plus Premium's Classic Games Look 'Great' on PS5, PS4, But Sony's Saying Nothing About the Selection
These names are confusing and dumb.
Also it should have been just ‘add ons’. I honestly only want the classic game streaming and would forgo the PS4/5 stuff

Re: Round Up: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Reviews Reveal a Refreshing Take on Borderlands Formula
Borderlands 2 was so good at the time. But I just didn’t think 3 held up to todays standards in gaming compared to other shooters on the market.
This does look cool tho and I hope to give it a try at some point down the road!
Re: Dozens of New PS5, PS4 Games from Ubisoft Allegedly Outed
Rayman 4
Or a remake/re release of Rayman 2 and 3.
3 was ported to the PS3 so idk why they didn’t port it over to the PS4 yet.
Re: Hideo Kojima's New Project Getting Lots of Sony Love

Re: Crunchyroll Absorbing All Funimation Content for Ultimate Anime Library
I hope it’s an optional add on to PS+.
As someone who doesn’t watch anime I have no interest in seeing my PS+ cost slightly rise due to anime.
Re: EA Sports Hints FIFA Has Been an Impediment As It Looks Set to Break Ties
Do FIFA players really ask for better product placement in their games?!?
Lol adidas vs Nike, seems like EA just wants to be able to charge for ads in their games to more companies
Re: Call of Duty Will Take Time Off Next Year
Wow a year off??? Are three studios still rotating on the games?
Re: In Traditional Square Enix Style, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Underperformed
I’m sure the negative avengers press, lack of Big Marvel film hype around release. And the fact that the character models look nothing like the big screen counterpart, really slowed the interest from casual fans (myself included)
Re: The Universe Is the Limit for PS5, PS4 Survival Game No Man's Sky
I’m shocked they’re still releasing large free content for the game with no way to get $$ besides new sales.
Breath of fresh air in todays industry.
Re: Could PS3, PS Vita Closures Be on the Cards After Wii U, 3DS Announcements?
If they can relaunch some sort of emulation with PS Plus to allow for purchases of these old games or streaming then, then shut ‘em down!
Re: Rumour: Resident Evil 4 Remake Making Changes, Announcement Could Be Soon
I’m pretty excited for this. Hopefully the changes are all positives and the biggest thing they need to do is ADD content, not take away like they did with RE3. It was far too short of an experience.
Re: Disney Speedstorm is Mario Kart with Mickey Mouse, Mulan
Like everyone else, was excited until I saw F2P. Will still give it a shot, but not as excited haha

Re: So, Beyond Good & Evil 2 Is Probably Never Happening
I remembering being so hyped at that gameplay demo and their vision - even tho it did seem like an unrealistic vision.
After this long, it’s probably for the best to axe it and Move on

Dang. I want the physical copy on PS5. Oh well, guess I’ll just wait for a slight price drop.
These 70$ games make Xbox look more and more attractive.
Re: Talking Point: What PS5, PS4 Live Service Games from Sony Do You Want?
@get2sammyb I’ve been begging for PS All Stars 2 since the PS4 launch. Throw me a bone Sony!
Re: Incredible Bloodborne PS1 Demake Proves Shockingly Popular on PC
Since it’s only the opening of the game - it really just acts as a marketing piece for Sony to sell more copies. Hope they don’t shut it down!
Re: Sony Is Spending Over $1 Billion to Ensure Bungie Employees Don't Leave
Crazy. I wish my firm thought like this lol.
It makes sense based on why they’re buying them, but they’re also pissing off all their other employees in the process…..
Re: Geoff Keighley Hints at More Gaming Acquisitions in 2022
I’m gonna cry if MS buys Capcom.
Re: Random: This Is How PlayStation Consoles Would Look if They Rendered Themselves

Re: New and Existing Bungie Games Will Not Become PS5, PS4 Exclusives
Great PR on Sonys end for now. And they can always pull the plug and go exclusive if they find it financially viable in the future.
Or spin off a few new internal studios using Bungie’s help to develop Sonys own FPS games

Re: Sony Buys Ex-Halo, Destiny Developer Bungie for $3.6 Billion
That’s a lot of money for one studio. But they do need to secure a FPS legacy in case MS pulls COD
