I barely play the game, but love KZ so I immediately hopped on and bought the stuff for 10$ which is a very reasonable for crossover cosmetics in comparable games.
Yessss!!!! I love exploring From soft games with a friend.
After playing most of Elden Ring coop, it was very boring trying to finish it by myself. The sense of discovery in telling a friend to check this out was so much fun.
I really don't like all the companies Tencent is investing in. It doesn't seem like anything good will come out of Tencents investment into games, long term.
Makes perfect sense for Sony to be working on one alongside the PS6.
Launch an expensive console and also a streaming handheld for 1/4 of the price. If people have good internet, no need to buy the expensive console if they can't afford it - lowers the barrier to entry for a new generation of console by a lot!
I don't understand how Sony can fail this badly at mobile attempts. They've been trying at this for over 10 years and have yet to show anything decent on mobile.
They must be getting some tax write off for this, right??
Otherwise it doesn't seem to make a ton of sense. They could have used the teams experience to make some other type of shooter etc? The studio clearly had talent - just bad direction, atrocious art style and late to the market
I liked Hulst during the PS3 era when they were pushing boundaries of the hardware with KZ2 and 3
But it seems like after HZD, they just went all in for some reason on that franchise which didn't make sense to me. And now the guy is leading all PS studios. Strange series of promotions for that guy.
Sony first party really needs to figure out a way to optimize output. Maybe more standalone DLC type of games like Miles Morales to help cover the gaps. It's just crazy we're this far into PS5 and I don't really feel like there have been any must have first party exclusives outside of the launch window
Like stated in the article - it's basically free exposure to a whole generation of people that never heard the song.
How many times do we see an 80s song/artist resurging when a song is used on a Netflix show?
I understand the optics of it, but realistically they're offering the artist insane reach and publicity which has an inherent value on its own. So it's not really 7500, it's considerably more
Greedfall was one of my surprise favorite games of the PS4 era.
I have a feeling it was a fluke rather than a standard for the studio moving forward.
It's a shame to see them push the studio like that after a success. Steel rising was not very good imo, and Greedfall 2 launching in early access with a burntout team sounds like disaster waiting to happen which is a shame for my most anticipated game
A remake should launch with the PS6 just like Demons Souls. Let the series rest a bit longer and in 3 or 4 years generate massive hype over the new console.
Sony should really give it a PS+ free launch or something. To get people to move from their current fleshed out hero shooters to a new unproven one, is hard enough, not to mention it also costs $$$
We are moving more and more towards a Stadia like platform. The world isn't there yet, but it's going that way.
With the size of games and the fact that many (big sellers) are online only now, it makes sense to have an online client where we log into a server and stream. No downloads, no waiting, etc.
I'm a hold out for physical media (still waiting on my BG3 copy) but I can see where we're headed. But I don't think hardware platforms with completely go away. It'll just look different.
Playing Elden Ring solo is really boring to me after playing most of the game coop. Its a lot more fun yelling to each other 'woah look what I found!' and conquering things together. When playing alone, my excitement of discovery just isn't the same when I don't have my buddy to share it with.
I miss all the people that showed up at Sony E3. Shawn, Jack, Andrew, Shu, and the other dude in the 'how to share games with friends video' from PS4 announcement.
Remember the Kevin Butler ads? Those were fantastic!
These days Sony is faceless and bland. I don't understand current marketing trends at all, clearly they're doing something right. It's just boring.
Way overblown. Part of the first mission was leaked plus some of the weapons, which Bungie themself have been spoiling by giving content creators early access and YT thumbnails are full of spoilers as a result.
Bethesda was delivering great stuff back during the PS3, but really suffered from poor decisions or poor growth choices (acquiring a bunch of studios and publishing) during PS4 era.
They really fell behind in the RPG scene and need a total refresh to their approach. They were my favorite developer during PS3 and it's sad to see.
Crazy to think that it'll likely be close to 20 years between Elder Scrolls games.
Never played the first one, but love the second. I'm about 30 hours in and have barely left the starting regions.
The game is fantastic, and I've never felt the need for the micro transactions. It's been blown out of proportion by people who haven't played the game.
Running from town to town isn't even that bad. You can skip the monster encounters and get places relatively quickly. Or....spend the equivalent in gold of a goblin kill to take an Ox cart....
Immortals was destined for this service before it was even launched. Hence why myself and likely many others judging by the comments never bought it. Sucks the studio suffered due to that, but that's the industry we've been trained to work with.
I hope the recent successes of doing things differently pays off in other areas.
I love wacky side gadgets and while the Portal isn't for me, I'm glad to see stuff like it.
I hope Helldiver's success leads to investment in other AA games that aren't chasing the newest trend. Good word of mouth, fun gameplay, and non intrusive micro transactions have shown to really pay off.
Although I'm sure Sony will be dropping some marketing collaborations in there in no time.
I still don't even know of any decent games that have come out of Embracer. They really banked on having a barrage of successful AA titles but failed to really launch anything.
They just added the hoverboards and there's no ornament for that. Everyone has immediately stopped using sparrows because hoverboards are better in every way, so big oops on that.
Sony needs to let studios release some indie or smaller AA type games as side projects. Similar to what Xbox studios seem to be doing. They may not light the world on fire, but at least it keeps releases going and brings variety. I haven't been excited for a Sony game, or bought one on release since TLOU2
I loved how off the wall the game was. When the credits rolled and it started a totally different game I was so shocked.
I doubt a sequel will capture the same magic since I went in at launch totally blind to what kind of games he makes, but I'd still love to revisit a non-gacha game from the creative mind of Yoko Taro
Hopefully they've got a good slate of content ready/can push forward to keep the momentum going.
Hiring and reacting to success will take months to implement and grow, which by that time, people will have moved into the next thing.
I'd be shocked if Sony replicated this with the two games mentioned in this post.
This game came at an unusual time, and managed to get a ton of positive press, releasing next to another live service games that got tons of negative press (Suicide Squad) and is rather unique in its presentation and style.
Honestly I think Suicide Squad really helped this game by making it look like a saint in terms of live service/monetization in comparison.
Price and the fact that it has 'coming to PS+ in a year or two' written all over it didn't help.
Thats why I didn't buy it and I'm sure many others! We've been trained to wait to purchase games because they'll be dirt cheap or on a subscription service soon enough! Unless it's an established IP or we don't want spoilers.
Plus we have waaaaay to many games freely available for the little time we have that it's hard to justify

Re: Helldivers 2 Dev Arrowhead Takes Blame for Killzone Pricing Blunder
Surprised there was outrage in the first place.

Re: Elden Ring: Nightreign Explained in Huge IGN Report
The more I read about it the less interested I got.
A bunch of reused assets? 45 min gameplay on repeat with just some enemy variation?
Where's the exploration and discovery and adventure that makes Souls games unique and enjoyable??
Re: Naughty Dog's New PS5 Game Is Finally Announced, Sci-Fi Action Title Intergalactic
This looks fantastic. Loving the retro 80s vibe and I think they've nailed it.
Hopefully they lean into some of the grittier aspects of things like Blade Runner, but this will probably be a day 1 buy from me.
Still waiting on my next Uncharted what ever happened to that secret studio that was supposed to be working on it.
Re: Shadow of the Colossus Dev Returns with an Insane Robot Game on PS5
I thought that studio went under when The Last Guardian took longer than Duke Nukem Forever to make. Looks cool!

Still waiting for Rayman 4. Or release 3 Remastered for PS4/5. Being locked to PS3 is a travesty

Wow! This is awesome news! And even better that hopefully it'll be the same creative team!
10+ years will be great to show changes in AI

Re: 80s Synthpop Stars Heaven 17 Resist the Temptation of PS5's GTA 6
@Savage_Joe lol did you read the article?? They won't get royalties from the GAME. which they won't get anyways if they're not in it.
They don't lose any rights to their songs.
And if being in the game doesn't cause their song to get a resurgence, so what, they got a free 7500$ for doing nothing.

Yes. This is my preferred way to play.

But this game still looks pretty bad.

Re: Tipsy Microsoft Exec Once Attempted to Steal LittleBigPlanet from Sony
Id love to see them get back to the basic, arcadey, handcrafted worlds of LBP1 and Tearaway. LBP1 had so much charm and fantastic music!

@djlard that game was fantastic. Id love some more AvP
Also as a huge alien fan, I'm way too much of a chicken for this.

Still one of my favorite games ever.

Re: Significant Discounts Suggest Ubisoft's PS5 Pirate Game Skull and Bones Is Already Struggling
It's a game that seems to scream F2P based on what I've seen. (Maybe due to bad marketing)
It should have at least been a budget title similarly to Helldiver's if it wanted to make a splash

Way to save this great big special announcement for the Studios to say there Phil. Lol.
Everything that dude says is nonsense.
Re: Borderlands Film Shares First Look at Its Live-Action Cast
I love Kevin Hart in everything I've seen him in. But as Roland??? It's been a while, but I don't remember Roland being comic relief.
He would have been a better annoying claptrap voice.
I can see JLC doing a great job as Tannis though.
Still my expectations are EXTREMELY low for this. I don't expect Jack Black and Kevin Hart to save whatever plot this movie cooks up.
Re: New Terminator Game, GreedFall 2 Headline Nacon Connect Showcase

Re: Xbox Is Bringing Four Exclusives to PS5, But It Won't Say Which
What a bunch of emergency PR crap.
Let's be honest. If a game doesn't hit it's ROI, it'll be multiplatform in a year or two.
They can't keep taking losses on games where theres a console with a 55 million instal base of potential sales.

Re: Poll: Which Xbox Franchises Would You Buy on PS5?
My top answers are games that have historically been releasing on PS. Amazing how much of this list is recently 'exclusivized' franchises.
