Shadoo actually sounds better than scadoo. Funny how I'm taking more photos in this game than games that have photo mode. Try riding Torrent to the cliffside before the first site of grace near the bridge at the Dragon's Pit - picture perfect orange hue in early day.
Still exploring every inch in the realm of the Shadow of the Erdtree. Met Messmer a week ago and told him to wait and that I needed explore a bit more, he's probably bored at the tower in his " embrace of Messmer's flames."
Got this shield and just threw it in the chest. I like my +25 MiLady against tough enemies and my +10 Morgott's Sword is still a force to reckon with against bosses. Not really a shield guy but I've been using it quite a lot in this SoTE.
Never really cared about user reviews when I used to see 1 star reviews on Amazon for a product like: "my package arrived late"......????? Anyway I'm more captivated by the world than worrying about difficulty, it's obvious these people haven't played Sekiro.
People talking about Nintendo always dominating the charts, I mean every parent, grandparent by default knows those games are safe for kids. They're buying it physical, no way they're leaving credit card details on their consoles trying to order digital for them.
Already beaten 2 bosses, they didn't take more than 3 tries each. If you're in a hurry and aren't going to test out the millions of weapons, level up and read item descriptions, you're going to suffer.
I mean it's their identity, why would they change that. I'm always offline so haven't got the calibrations, wonder if it's even that big of a difference, there's been a ton of these calibrations for ER since 2022. Souls games aren't a problem, Sekiro - now that is a real problem. Met Sword Saint and gave up and got my save deleted to make matters worse. But I've accepted Sekiro for what it is, you'd realize the Souls formula is even fair in comparison.
@Korgon "Plus the DLC only came out Friday! Are people just not exploring at all?"
Always so. They don't explore to get stronger when that's the point of FS games, they just go straight from boss to boss expecting everything to be easy.
@NieR_Dark The problem with Blackgaol Knight is, there are no summons. So in actual fact Elden Ring would've been a crazy hard game if there wasn't summons. You'd think BB is hard but you can beat most main bosses without summons, ER on the other hand , is almost impossible without summons.
I'm mostly impressed by the graphics in this expansion, thought they'd leave it as impressive as it already is.
@Shinnok789 Yep, people always playing the "I'm the most busiest" card when whatever they do in their free time could equally be considered a waste by someone else.
@Arnna It's extremely laughable to think gamers can afford every single game releasing, try them out for themselves before deciding if they like it or not. When reviewers get them for free and give you a fair idea before making a purchase.
Playing tourist taking a lot of screenshots in the Shadow of the Erdtree. Who are those enemies again? No problem, dealing with them with a +10 Morgott's sword. What a land of beauty.
@WhiteRabbit @DennisReynolds Haha I know y'all had that "stepping out of the Cave of Knowledge to the Lands Between first time" moment when you stepped in the Realm of Shadow.
That's nice. FromSoftware has further upped the graphics in this SoTE. Just enjoying the artistic sites and forgetting this is supposed to be a difficult game.
@__jamiie Mmkay give it a chance, not as hard as you think, just have the patience to level up and enjoy the unique artistry.
I agree with your comment above though, people should just leave games as is and move on. Imagine a Mona Lisa or some other painting being remade/remastered, no matter what it is it'll never be the original. Enough of the remakes.
@__jamiie More like you own it through Plus, wouldn't be sitting on it if you went out your way to buy it. BB is still a classic, masterpiece as is, people wanting a remake because they love it not because of issues, I personally I'm fine with it. It's held in high regard because there's nothing like it when it comes to the theme, the trick weapons, attire, bosses making loud screeching noises, it's just a unique experience.
Feels like all the awards and recognition for FromSoftware starting with Sekiro's 2019 GOTY is to compensate for the total Bloodborne snub in 2015. Then again 2015 was just crazy, Witcher 3 happened and was accessible to many. In the long run though, it's 2024 and I'm still playing BB.
People beating random bosses thinking they're ready for SOTE 😁. It's about Mohg! Couldn't remember how I found him first playthrough but luckily I'd advanced on Varre's questline on my 2nd run, I got a straight ticket to dude's palace.
No matter the guides you use some enemies would still require you to git gud, enemy variants in the BB dungeons like Defiled Amygdala, Bloodletting Beast.
Not surprised. It's just the whole art direction of From Software games.
@Mega-Gazz They're all pretty much the same along with all the others. Almost everything in BB can be found in ER and more. So...it's probably the theme you like.
@Porco I think they're just confident in what they've created and probably following the Elden Ring and RDR2 footsteps. These games showed a lot prior to release and still ended up wowing us. People thought they'd seen it all in the ER beta and then showing enemies like the Rune Bear in artworks etc but they still had a million things for our surprise.
Got a feeling how From loves the Sense of Discovery, they lowkey hate trophies and only add them because it's mandatory on the main game why? Probably because trophies give some information by pressing box on hidden trophies. I mean you look at gold trophies and you kinda have an idea who's the final boss, and this is a dev that loves to hide stuff. Still, this is rather disappointing.
Back to Sekiroooo Isshin voice after meeting Sword Saint and all my game saves getting deleted. It was easy to start other games but Sekiro...naahh. To think I defeated all those bosses and have to start again...sigh, Sekiro feels like the hardest From game but it's a From game and still a joy to play through again. Elsewhere defeated Lady Maria in the Old Hunters, BB. Defeated Mohg for the 2nd time waiting by Miquella's cocoon for you know what.
It's all I been playing the past weeks along with BB, just can't get enough of From's art. Waiting for Shadow of the Erdtree which I suspect might just qualify to be a full game.
@johncalmc Took years to discover this but Miyazaki is actually Miquella, it's all cryptic, thank me later.
@rjejr I'm so used to having homes or rented rooms and side activities in Rockstar, Bethesda games that when an open world doesn't have it, it doesn't feel immersive enough.

"It's coming home?" Yep.
Still Shadow of the Erdtree.
Re: Huge Genshin Impact Rival Wuthering Waves Could Be Coming to PS5, PS4 Sooner Than Expected
Only problem with these games is... catching up.
@rjejr oh yeah the infamous confusing headlines of PushSquare. Dunno if the headline code doesn't support punctuations.
Re: Next Like a Dragon Title a Surprise for Fans, RGG Studio Teases
@ApostateMage Last time I tried to get into Yakuza, I found it harder than From's formula.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Elden Ring Appears in the Top 10 Not Once But Twice
It's gonna win Best Expansion/Ongoing game for sure. It's big enough as a standalone game. Everything is just so impressive.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 535
Still Shadow of the Erdtree. What a beauty!

@WhiteRabbit Haven't even seen that one, everywhere is fackin beautiful!
Re: Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Reaches 5 Million Sales in First Three Days
Deservedly so. People are busy with bosses while I'm just admiring the art, can't stop taking screenshots.

Re: FromSoftware Boss Puts Elden Ring Difficulty Discourse to Bed, Once and For All
True, I remember starting Journey 2 waltzing through all the bosses, felt a bit uninteresting and started a new game proper.

Elden Ring is a game you pause backlogs and attend to. Shadow of the Erdtree all the way.

Re: Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (PS5) - Familiar FromSoftware Brilliance

Not at all surprising.
Re: Xbox Really Wasn't Happy with PlayStation's Call of Duty Marketing Deal

@cburg Haven't you heard, the guy is just negative on everything.
Re: Preview: Elden Ring Promises a DLC Masterclass in Shadow of the Erdtree
The architecture in FromSoftware's games are simply remarkable. I stop from time to time to admire the buildings. Their art overall is just marvelous!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 531
Still on the FromSoft artistry - ER & BB. A bit of Mafia 3, DiRT Rally or AC Valhalla.
Re: Rumour: New DOOM Game Reveal at Xbox Showcase, Coming to PS5
@Balosi More like BETHESDA is rooted in gamer culture, everything of theirs should be multiplat.
