Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Is Much Bigger Than the First Game, But the Main Story Will Respect Your Time

TheArt

If you respect your time so much you won't even bother starting the game or any other game for that matter. Problem isn't families and responsibilities, problem is your fomo self wants to buy, play and complete every single game being released under the sun, that's fine but don't expect them all to be short because YOU are buying them all. There are people who like to buy and focus on just a few games and want long campaigns at those prices.

Re: Reaction: The Problem with PlayStation Right Now

TheArt

The best games these days don't even require so much power. Talking about you wanna see a game that utilizes the latest tech to the fullest and then it only sells 2 million after 100 years of development. Naah, the strategy would have to change.

Re: A Bloodborne Remake on PS6 Might Have More 'Value', Creator Suggests

TheArt

People talk about Bluepoint remakes but some say the Demon Souls Remake lacked some vibe, atmosphere of the original. No matter how many times San Andreas has been remastered and remade, they say it lacks the original atmosphere. So I think it's time the industry leaves games as they are and move on. Else we're going to be stuck in this Remasters loop going forward.

Re: Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree Sounds Like a Mammoth Expansion

TheArt

@KundaliniRising333 " has amazing art design and really carries the experience but it's definitely not pushing graphical fidelity at all"

Yet ER won Best Art Direction over HFW/GOWR. So it's not really about pushing graphical fidelity when it comes to art style. I mean Okami was so unique and beautiful with its paintbrush stroke style. Everything doesn't have to match PS Studios graphics.

Re: Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Out for PS5, PS4 on 21st June 2024

TheArt

@VaultGuy415 You can't say "nearly as good", maybe it's the theme you like but when it comes to pure size...just minus the open world of ER and you could say just Stormveil is bigger than Central Yharnam and Cathedral Ward combined. Yeah Bloodborne has this unique charm, one isn't flat out better than the other, they're different, they're both timeless masterpieces at the end of the day.

Re: Elden Ring DLC Reveal Trailer Debuts in Less Than 24 Hours

TheArt

First time you step out and see the Lands Between and that music starts, Tree Sentinel patrolling, and White Mask Varre mocks you about being maidenless...you feel lost, hopeless - that feeling just can't be explained. Looking forward to this DLC, will probably be their biggest yet.

Re: Upgraded PS5 Pro Planning to Be the Best Place to Play GTA 6

TheArt

Here we go again with the marketing. Come PS6, it'd be the best place to play GTA6 and people would have to double dip. And then it's going to be remasters upon remasters with little boosts playing PS5 games on PS6. Rockstar haven't really cared about fps, they like 30fps, gameplay, realism and attention to detail is their main focus.

Re: PS5 Is Entering the 'Latter Stages of Its Life Cycle', Says Sony

TheArt

People should look forward to cross-gen being normalized if they're going to keep upgrading hardware whilst games are taken longer to develop. You're talking about latter stages when ND haven't even released a single new game. Don't go early adopting PS6 thinking it won't be flooded with cross-gen games with PS5. @TrickyDicky99 brace yourself.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 514

TheArt

Forget Wolverine, I'm already playing that with +8HookClaws in Elden Ring. Just found out the first ending I got - Lord of the Frenzied Flame - is actually the toughest ending to get. Didn't realize it being tough, I just tried to do everything. Even still I'm finding new corners I've never been in this my current run.

Re: Gran Turismo Sport's Last Ever PS4 Patch Enables Offline Saves

TheArt

Can't believe people actually believed everything would be shut off including save functionality. A game without a save functionality is basically not a game. @PixelDragon you were one of those people, remember our back and forth hahaha. https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2023/09/chequered-flag-for-gran-turismo-sport-as-online-services-shut-down-in-january-2024#:~:text=Chequered%20Flag%20for%20Gran%20Turismo,in%20January%202024%20%7C%20Push%20Square

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 513

TheArt

The game with one of the hardest main menu music ever - ELDEN RING. With all the time I've spent with this game, Stormveil is still showing hidden paths I haven't been. What a game. I've managed to complete Boc's questline this time round, I avoid internet guides to keep the element of surprise coming.

Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Director Says Travel Isn't Boring, Your Game Is

TheArt

I've never liked fast travel, might as well fast travel the entire game to the end and don't bother playing. It just fits in certain situations and feels fake in others. For example it makes sense to pick a taxi in GTA4/5 and skip the journey. It doesn't make sense in other games when you just pull up the map and teleport magically from place to place. I only do it it when there's no other way like The Institute in Fallout 4 and the Roundtable Hold in Elden Ring, in the latter's case I usually return to the last site of grace visited. When I find myself trapped in Stormveil, I find the challenge and fun escaping out of the there than just cheaply fast traveling my way out.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 512

TheArt

It's back to the outstandingly artistic, incredible lighting, the sense of discovery like never seen before, the legendary... ELDEN RIIIIIINNNG! Lost my saves, so started off as a Nightfolk bandit with pale skin this time round, so swift with the dagger just being a renegade in the artistic Lands Between. Can't stop taking screenshots in this game. No contest it won Best Art Direction. What a true masterpiece!

Re: Your The Last of Us 2 Platinum Trophy Will Be Safe After PS4 to PS5 Upgrade

TheArt

I think if you love the game a lot, you'd find fun doing it all over again. That aside, I dislike when games provide buffs and stuff; like Dishonored DE on PS4 coming with so many charms in the beginning to make things easy. The powered up Guardian/ Defender armor available in Monster Hunter World from the start, why ruin the fun of the grind for new players...or getting some buffs for preordering a game...this should just stop.

Re: Monster Hunter World Enjoys Massive Popularity Surge Following Wilds Reveal

TheArt

I'll put it in the 3 games I've spent the most hours in: Rockstar Games, FromSoftware games and Monster Hunter World Iceborne.

Spectacular animations, nice artstyle, satisfying combat, hunting and crafting wonderful gear, beautiful and outstandingly animated monsters, depth. It's just lovely when you understand it but when you don't... you're just gonna sing the "it's not for me" tune.
