@Matthewnh "But, let us be honest, GTA6 is just going to be more of the same, and hardly groundbreaking."
Bout one of the biggest lies I've ever heard about a Rockstar game. With every iteration they make sure there's that wow feature other games are going to struggle to emulate. Yeah because there were smartphones and ordering stuff online in San Andreas, they copy paste stuff like Ubisoft but have to take more than a decade doing it. You are joking!
@naruball Yep, when people say they don't have time for a 100hr SP game but go on to play MP games for 1000s of hours. Or buy 10 different 10hr games for say £200+ when they could've just stuck with that single £60 100hr RPG.
@MrPeanutbutterz Well websites aren't made up of a single person, so it can't be too subjective, they have their personal top 5s for that. Imagine TGA going all subjective and choosing CoD or Fortnite as GOTY but no, there's a lot of objectivity going on there.
Well makes a nice change to see y'all didn't put a PS exclusive at #1 by default. I mean if there are multiplats that are better, just let them win. If an exclusive is better, fine. In 2020, I didn't think any game was beating TLOU2, it deserved all its awards. But Spiderman over BG3, naaah.
@Northern_munkey 😄 not surprised, watched just 3mins gameplay video of ArcRaiders, it looked really good! At this rate, guessing you own every damn racer out there.
@Northern_munkey "serious patience" 😂😂 ikr. Funny enough I haven't even finished KCD1 or 2, truth is they're best enjoyed when you take time with them.
Still on GTA's only competition now - Cyberpunk 2077. I just love this game! Didn't know Deathloop had RT, looks like a whole new game on that setting. Will try to see if i can rescue Capon for the hundredth time in KCDII.
The Game Awards, Goldenstick, game sites etc...maybe how winners are decided should be looked at again. Cause it's looking like once a game is great and cheap/free it's likely to sweep all awards. Millions would've bought it and would skip the other more expensive ones that are equally great. And then you ask for public voting, the expensive ones don't stand a chance, cause most likely most people bought that one £50 game the entire year. It's like free to play Wuthering Waves winning over Clair for Player's Choice in TGA. Same with game sites, when you hold a poll, people are likely to vote for the single game they own by default. So I think public voting could be quite flawed.
Great characters, great music, great art style, unique enemies, all round great game but...still can't beat Final Fantasy in its prime. KCD2 is more my style and again my GOTY.
@Max_the_German Fact that people like you can't even see a joke or sarcasm makes the Internet even more tiring. To the point you actually believe I think nobody can have an opinion...jeez you're sad!
Even if you don't like Clair, there's no denying it has the best soundtrack of 2025. No you can't have no opinion or subjective view on this, it didn't really have any challengers, it simply has the best soundtrack this year period.
@themightyant I showered praises on Genshin when it launched, however what turned me off was the constant updates, which you CANNOT play without updating even as a SP game. The constant barrage of characters being thrown at you meant you couldn't have no attachment whatsoever to any character, they felt soulless and ultimately I was wondering the endgame here, what was the point of the adventure.
@Korgon Lol 8-10hrs isn't enough, I tried for more than 50hrs playing solo though, on again and off again and it just clicked after gradually getting to understand the game. Try again solo once in a while when you can but hey I hear ya.
@AdamNovice Call of Duty can afford to take all the time they want with all the budget they need but they'd rather release the same slop every year at full price. It's Rockstar's conscious decision to take all the time to keep delivering quality games. And R* worked hard to get here, it's not like they've always had funding from Microsoft or EA or some trillion dollar company.
@Oram77 still don't know the performance issues people talk about, I hear it's largely on PC and they've overblown it. Anyhow considering the amount of action going on on screen at the same time, the effects and rapid realistic animations in high quality graphics, any game would struggle.
@ShogunRok The effects just had me wowing and wowing I couldn't even focus on actually fighting him. It's crazy!
@Korgon I implores you like Bill Williamson to keep trying, it's going to click. I mean you love Street Fighter, it's the same action with cool moves hidden in different weapons only fighting monsters this time.
Wow wow y'all couldn't be so right. At least someone's gets it, that MH Wilds' combat action is crazy! It gets overlooked cause y'know "just another Monster Hunter again." I can say with confidence it's the best out there in the way of animations and monster behaviour. Nobody does monsters like MH and this takes it up a notch, all the environmental effects when fighting monsters like Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Arkveld faaaaacckkk! And the way your character moves....so sublime! I played this for like 30hrs straight not playing no other games.
@DennisReynolds Right so not really getting you saying this: "Yotei's stength's aren't really its open zones." Is it just about the combat or the art style or what...
From a consumer's perspective exclusives are quite inconvenient, buying multiple consoles for specific games. From a business side, it's necessary to get people to buy that console. If games were everywhere, who would even bother with a low powered console like Switch. It would be about the highest powered console available to play everything.
Back on Cyberpunk 2077, this time Phantom Liberty. The game is just soooo good! Ray tracing is just too good. At this point I don't know which game's citizens have more style than this game. The graphics is just so beautiful. Simply the only the game competing with GTA right now. Then I'll continue Henry's journey in getting Capon out of a mess for the 1000th time in KCD2.
@RBMango And that's why KCD2 is special, cause it does it with fancy graphics. Yes most of its RPG elements can be found in other RPGs, difference is, it does it with a crazy level of immersion and realistic graphics. If there's ever an award for UI and Menu design, KCD2 takes that too. The way the map changes to different artworks for every town is so cool, the art in the codex pages, the design of items in inventory. Your life bar and that of the enemy you're currently fighting, your stamina, horse stamina etc is simplified and tucked neatly in that same bar below the screen. It just saddens me when hard work isn't appreciated, I'm just glad so far PCGamer has made it its GOTY.
Exactly my order of arrangement. KCDII is just so on point with the RPG. You can't just go to a grindstone and tap X to enhance your sword. You gotta sit and grind all edges yourself! You can't just tap X to brew potions, you gotta grind with pestle and mortar, work the bellows and actually cook! 😄 . You are no superhero, you can't take on 3 or more enemies yourself. This is the immersion we're talking about.
@Oram77 Haha oh yeah BB's art direction is timeless but I think Elden Ring gave it a run for its money though. That stepping out of the Cave of Knowledge and seeing the world first time, seeing the Erdtree in the distance wondering if you're ever going to reach it. Coming out the back of Stormveil, on that hill, seeing Liurnia...crazy! Storm hill, Mistwood, Leyndell, distinct features at every area. Then of course the design of your equipment and apparel.
About your only 10/10 game this year and it's #8...yeah factor in staff grumble grumble user votes poll and what not. Apart from Khayl Adam, reckon the rest of y'all couldn't bother getting past Zizka and were getting cut down by bandits at every corner 🤣 so it's understandable.
@AhmadSumadi Exactly why I've been asking where the line would be drawn. Because when you start most games there are tools shown used like Speedtree and others so should the fight have started from there...
@EfYI I'm still not done with KCD2, 245hrs and counting. The game is just soooo good! It's like every character, side mission is memorable. Surprised it's not on his list.
CoD4MW was a breath of fresh air since Goldeneye64. I then heard of him when he had a fallout with Activision for negotiating with EA against contractual terms. It was like a tussle between 2 giant companies over this man, what a legend! And after MW2 when he left or was sacked I don't remember, I didn't bother with no other CoD I followed his new studio Respawn and got Titanfall 2, then tried Apex Legends, that was it. Now he puts Battlefield back on the map and this happens...damn!
@MrStark Lol yall talk about Clair like it's never been done, well yeah the qte in turnbased is new but beside a recent game like BG3, Clair is nowhere near. Beside a 2025 Role-playing like KCD2, sorry Clair is nowhere near.
"I'm waiting for someone to put a Sony exclusive over Clair Obscur."
I mean like PS Blog, they'll put Yotei above it unless they surprise us this time.
@kyleforrester87 it's why i haven't finished it since forever. I mean how many negative effects can one person take - burning, stunned, decaying, crippled, they just pile it up to bomboclat! But I still like it tho, the satisfaction when you win.

Focusing on a few games and finishing them before moving on to the next set. This is going to be almost everyone's resolution though.
