@kyleforrester87 Lol I considered but I'm like naah, that would be like spending at least £260 just to play Zelda, because that's really all I want to play. It's sad the last Zelda I ever played was the legendary Ocarina of Time on N64, that game was so ahead!
Maybe we should start saying Sekirolike because this game is making me feel like Soulslike is pretty easy. Will continue my 4th/5th run of Bloodborne, feeling all nostalgic realizing I forgot a lot of things in the game. Continuing my 2nd run of Elden Ring, felling all the 4 dragons on the Moonlight altar. Then woah...it seems these games be taking my time from the fantastic AC Valhalla but will make time for it this weekend.
I was a teenager when I played this franchise and it was pretty good. I'm sure this 4 is fun and all but what's so special about it that it has to have a £70 price tag?! Far as I'm concerned it's even 87 on MC, 96 Elden Ring was £50 at launch!
@Flaming_Kaiser They are choosing for people who are okay with it like us to start with. I mean who started this conversation... options is the answer but then again that's interfering with the devs vision, kinda like expecting difficulty options from Souls games.
@NEStalgia Ha yeeaah and any game ever would have to be rendered unplayable after your player dies the first time. We know it's a game but there's still a level of realism, immersion they evidently want to achieve. All GTAs before 4 was running by default, why did they change to walking by default, look at RDR2's insane level of detail in realism, they obviously know what they're going for. That's why their games are constantly 97s on MC, they are different, they can't follow the crowd.
@Th3solution Damn so far Sekiro's been quite tough, very different, trying to get the hang of it. The nice typical FromSoft art direction is present, just hoping I master the combat cause damn!
@theMEGAniggle I guess some people run around in banking halls, hotel lobbies, shopping malls in real life so they'd want running to be default in everything. When one of the main aims of games is reaching heights of realism. I mean it's nice to have the fantasy running around wacky stuff but I don't see why we can't have the realistic stuff too.
@Th3solution Haha time's changed, most games are no longer the linear 10hr campaigns we used to be done with in a week and move on to the next. You could spend months playing a single game and there lot of great games out there so why don't we play them side by side. Yeah you're right, I sometimes mix up the controls haha but hey I feel it is what it is now, too many great games to focus on one, you're likely to rush through that one in a hurry to get on to the next.
Since Sekiro looks like it's NEVER dropping down from that $30/£30 sale tag, I gave up and copped it. So it's this holy trinity for me this weekend: Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring. Just can't get enough of FromSoftware's art style. Finally beat that fack - Glintstone Dragon Adula in ER, if you know where to find him. Plus some AC Valhalla definitely.
@theMEGAniggle Perfectly said. The default is WALKING, adds to the immersion, it's deliberate. Where TF are you running to? Imagine Michael running around his family in his mansion looking silly, all because pushing the left stick fully - runs, and then you have to be playing a balancing game with the tilt just to walk like most games, that's even harder than mashing X.
I mean I was really impressed with the demo, don't know what some people were complaining about. Only problem is whether or not I'm spending full price.
@ApostateMage 3 times? Yeah I can't believe, I must have beat it 5 times and it's not my best ever but it's up there, you ain't a true fan haha.
@naruball Yeah combat is pretty standard, it's not that bad it's just, a beast like Bloodborne with its highly satisfying typical FromSoft combat released that same year making TW3's look just okay. But it just does everything right with storytelling, characters and colourful graphics, so yeah still one of the best of all time.
It's not even about PS4 or PS5 or that it still looks like PS4 graphics. The biggest games of recent aren't using the strongest of horsepower - Elden Ring, Zelda TotK. It's about the game, is it going to be as good as FF7, 10, 12...I miss being hyped for FF.
@UltimateOtaku91 Maybe because we haven't gotten to try the game out, it's not available on PS as we all know. Most people, like me, only started talking about Genshin after actually playing it. I personally have taken a break from Genshin because Live Service games are always updating, like "oh I got 30mins to play before I leave the house" BAM! Update in your face, unlike normal games you can't play till you update. Plus LS games want all your attention and time for no other game but theirs alone. I might get back one day though.
Elden Ring, Elden Ring and more Elden Ring. I see myself playing this game multiple times for years. Just love the FromSoftware fashion, found some new outfits I missed on my first playthrough. Just love the simple but artistic nature of their games really. Then it's my favourite AC of recent years - Valhalla, roaming the beautiful world looking for gear and ingots. Plus some Iki Island in GoT probably and of course Bloodborne.
People keep talking about this but it's the Bethesda acquisition that's worrisome. It's all fun and games till ES6, Starfield, Fallout 5, Dishonored release with high scores on Xbox only. Fack this one game CoD.
Elden Ring, AC Valhalla, Bloodborne, MAFIA and whatever else. From Software games should come with a caution: highly engaging, can't play in short bursts.
"Considering some AAA, PS5-exclusive games have needed multiple performance patches to get to where they should be at launch. Perhaps developers just need some more horsepower rather than having to find workarounds to get the framerate where it should be (at or as near 60 as possible)."
Yeah the media always coaxing us into buying the new shiny stuff. Then the PS4 should've just stuck around till the PS5 Pro is what you're trying to say.
@Dman10 Yep the bird being almost useless is one of the reasons I like Valhalla. I don't see how a bird can pinpoint who/what I'm looking for. We praise Elden Ring, Zelda for not holding hands yet we expect all the pinpointing in AC & other games and then turn round to bash them. I love realism and Valhalla does it best compared to all the AC games.
Oh yeah Genshin Impact, our only hope anytime Zelda releases. PS needs to make something to compete with Mario or Zelda, seriously. Ratchet just doesn't cut it for me.
It was all dramatic startups till gamers in a hurry said they didn't want them no more since load screens and walking realistically in immersive games was already a pain for them. But hey they're here voting for best startups.
@nocdaes Yep the time is money is in full effect now. I see a lot of games on the PS store sales I can afford but I'm not buying because I won't have the time to play them all.
Still a joy to play Valhalla, not feeling no bloat at all because I enjoy everything about the gameplay. Beat GoT, on Iki Island now though game still feels like a chore sometimes I can't explain why. Funny how I'm stuck on Rom in 2023 when I easily beat him back then - Bloodborne. Then maybe some Elden Ring or whatever else.
I mean I always maintained I dislike playing games with a countdown, pushing me to hurry, kills the fun because it's now a chore to finish it before it's taken off.
@AstraeaV @Darude84 I tried Journey 2/NG+ and got bored, everything was just too easy but I think it's fine for when you want to follow just the stories and have all the cool weapons and outfits. I started a proper new game and it's been as enjoyable as first time playing it.
"diagrams of the device are shaped similarly to the disc drive portion of existing PS5 models. Then again, we'd imagine most disc drives to be disc-shaped, wouldn't you?"
I'm thinking they mean it matches the shape of the area around the disc slot of the existing PS5.
AC Valhalla is turning out to be one of my all time favourites. Just like how the game doesn't pinpoint everything, don't have to rely on no bird every time. Found me a shy fox and all kinds of pets who are happy to see me when I'm home, then we have a feast with the lads and I take Petra to bed. Gear isn't repetitive and littered all over, they're distinct and valuable to find. The graphics, animations, everything's on point. Aaannd I can say I'm at the end of GoT, beat the Khan and looking to start Iki Island, fantastic game ruined by enemies spawning everywhere like Far Cry 5, Jin never resting to past time, I mean if you can't put such a mechanic in an open world then it should be linear. Then it's the SF6 demo and probably try to beat Rom in Bloodborne.
@CthulhuFhtagn Haha ik Balthier is such a memorable character with such style. More like them and less of the FF15 & 16 characters that all look alike.

This and GoT are quite overrated on here. Horizon, GoW, TLOU, Uncharted are way ahead when it comes to PS Exclusives.
