Re: Diablo 4 Goes Gold Ahead of June Release Date

@kyleforrester87 😆 I mean I got FIFA 2003 and player's names weren't appearing on kits, can't remember if I googled, yahooed or msn-ed solutions at the time, and they said graphics card problems and whatnot, I'm like F this sh** I'm out! 😆

Don't know if it's the 1st, 2nd but I remember I used play this series back in the early 2000s when I tried to be a PC gamer after N64. Then the PS2 released and just couldn't be bothered with all that PC tweaking.

@freddquadros I enjoyed Origins and Odyssey and was swerving Valhalla because the internet would have you believe it's the weakest. Playing it for myself and I feel it's the strongest so far. Don't know bout you but I'm more into realism and Valhalla does it best. Animations are slick, from walking to jogging to running feels natural. First I thought they couldn't beat the wonderful outfits in Odyssey but Valhalla's as sophisticated with intricate details like Arthur's RDR2 outfits. I mean you go fishing, there's a dice game I still don't understand lol, horses with nice saddles. Valhalla doesn't pinpoint everything even with your raven, you're supposed to find everything yourself. What else is there to do in GoT apart from fighting mongols at every turn, maybe should've been linear. Not to mention the horse gallop animation is awkward.

@Ravix They tricked us into thinking he's another Trevor of GTAV, but he's a much more of an a-hole than Trevor ever was.

The collecting gear thing I'm actually comparing to Origins & Odyssey and not GoT. My biggest issue with GoT is the mindless spawning of enemies interrupting your journey, it's so Far Cry. Yet he's able to take a hot spring bath in the middle of all that chaos. Yet can't rent an inn to sleep and forward time realistically. Movements from walking to jogging, from the horse cantering to galloping can be clunky. The guiding wind can be extremely misleading. Valhalla on the other hand learnt a lot from RDR2 and it's therefore the most immersive AC. Guards on the roads ignore you and don't attack mindlessly. You're able to chill and take in the scenery. The whole England and Norway are beautiful with all new assets far different from the other 2 ACs. You don't have silly mercenaries breathing down your neck and interrupting missions. They're instead in the form of Zealots who you can go face when ready. You have a settlement to return to and build. Open worlds where your character is on the move 24/7 is extremely unrealistic to me. Valhalla just does things they way I like my open world to be, it's nowhere near RDR2 level of immersion but comes closest.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 472

Almost at the end of GoT, great story, fantastic combat, the open world gameplay however is too bland. Valhalla's open world gameplay is far superior, overall I'd say Valhalla is just better comparing these two. Finding gear and upgrading them feels valuable in Valhalla compared to Odyssey or Origins. Btw who else feels they should have made Ivarr suffer more, guy was fackin annoying from the start.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 471

Played a lot of GoT and yeah superb combat and story, nice game overall but there's something more satisfying with AC Valhalla. I like to compare the 2 cause they came out the same year and a bit similar, of course we know GoT did the borrowing of ideas. I feel the internet just picks a narrative runs with it misleading the average person like "GoT is more AC than AC itself" like wth?! GoT is a superb Samurai game but nothing AC about it, guy doesn't even like dishonorable assassinations. I think what makes Valhalla more satisfying is the immersion - you have a settlement, bed, stable etc and enemies aren't spawning everywhere. Why do mongols have to spawn every inch on your way anywhere in GoT, just why?!

Aaannd I found me some new secrets in RDR2, after all these years I try to avoid spoilers on these hidden things, what a game! Also, probably some ER and BB.

Don't know how FromSoftware hides places right under your nose, you can trek there a million times and never find them. Found a whole new side in Raya Lucaria while I'm happily sauntering in the worlds of Elden Ring. Should wrap up AC Origins real soon, then will focus on Valhalla, GoT or start HFW 2nd run. Meanwhile I'm in my top hat, should've added the threaded cane, feeling elegant in the world of the classic - Bloodborne.

Re: Elden Ring Players Have Spent a Year Dying Over 9 Billion Times

TheArt

@Ravix Part of the charm of these From games is the difficulty, no wonder they don't want to give options. I mean I even started Journey 2 aka NG+ and got bored as I was breezing past everyone with my crazy high level, I quickly started a proper new game and the challenge was more satisfying. NG+ is also like an easy mode, you just have to be patient with From games and not be in a hurry!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 468

Thought I'd seen it all except the different endings but doing Ranni's questline this time round and a whole new world opens up to me, Elden Ring is just something else. Also, can someone remind me how I beat Bloodborne's Vicar Amelia first try in 2016 but I'm stuck on her in 2023... Anyway I'll be continuing Origins till I beat it and play bits of GoT and Valhalla.

Re: Hogwarts Legacy's PS5 Platinum Is a Pain in the Ass

TheArt

I think people are just in a hurry. You could take your sweet time and do couple of playthroughs anytime you feel like. Plus there's no law to get the Plat at all cost. The game just came out, you could get the Plat in a few years time, it's still a Plat.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 467

TheArt

Isn't it interesting being at work thinking about a game from 2015, a game you've already beat like 3 times and platted 6 years ago? So yeah I thought I could fight the sale but no, ended up buying...Bloodborne...again. I just miss that music in the Hunter's Dream. Hunter's attire as detailed as RDR2's. I miss the whole artistry, everything! Playing ER same time too, I don't think I like one better than the other but it's facts ER is content heaviest. Meanwhile I haven't yet finished GoT, Valhalla and Origins...just great!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 466

TheArt

Same. AC Origins, Valhalla, GoT. Still feel like Horizon is the best among these games. I mean that's why it's maintained 88-89 on MC compared to the others. Will continue a bit of my ER 2nd run. I felt like rebuying Bloodborne in the sale - a game I've platinumed and played the heck out of but naah.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 464

TheArt

@Ravix Yeah it's definitely getting better and better as I play. I might start the Iki Island soon cause it just appeared in Act 2. Haha you can't do everything in The Witcher 3 with all these equally huge games out. I think I did like 95% back in 2016 or something. I must say I like how almost every game is huge these days and giving money's worth.
