@kyleforrester87 Yes I know but let's face it Assassin's Creed has stolen those initials with the more mainstream popularity and those consistent releases the past years.
Games have advanced so much every game is good these days so I'm playing any and everything; AC Valhalla, Elden Ring, MHW Iceborne, HFW, Bloodborne...I wonder how some of you do it when you keep buying a lot of games.
@wiiware haha even after all that you haven't seen anything yet, that's like 20% of the whole game, or less. On my 2nd run and still finding new things I missed right under my nose, when I thought I searched every nook and cranny after 330hrs on my first playthrough.
@wiiware Yep that'll be interesting but I think part of their charm is when you know everything and everyone is an enemy so there's this sense of relief and discovery when you find 1 person who's y'know human or non-hostile being.
So on my 1st run of Sekiro, 2nd run of Elden Ring, 4th run of Bloodborne, I still believe Elden Ring tops them all, it's simply the best From Software game period. Still more Monster Hunter World Iceborne, another game you just can't stop, funny how I found it hard getting into the game in the past and now I love it so much.
@wiiware it's easily understandable why you love Elden Ring but can't get into the others. Yeah again, it's the freedom and open world. I feel if FromSoft maintains that, their open worlds would always be sitting at 96-97 on MC like the GTAs, RDRs and Zeldas.
"and none of the game's assets — in terms of characters or environments — appear to have been enhanced in any way."
Perhaps they're scared of the type of people who say RDR2's John doesn't look like the John they know...sigh, so they'd rather not touch anything. Still, the $50 is highly disappointing.
@wiiware Absolutely, I agree. I always emphasize Elden Ring's open world and freedom simply makes it the best From Software game period. But there's this unique charm about Bloodborne I feel you should try and keep playing.
@wiiware After you've found the location of a boss, you can just sprint past those other enemies straight to the boss because you know your way, you don't have to repeat killing them over and over again. In the end it's mostly all about leveling up.
@darkswabber Don't know about that but I know that same Jimquisition gave Dishonored 2 a "mediocre 5/10" so yeah can't take them seriously. Don't care if it's not his cup of tea but no way is Dishonored 2 a mediocre game, still haven't seen any levels like Clockwork Mansion and Crack in the Slab, he was on to something else.
Well I agree with him on this but why do I feel R* sneakily represented him in RDR2 😂, y'know Herr Strauss, making them(Arthur) do things they're not comfortable with, like taking money($50) from poor folk.
I feel like this is all TakeTwo: "The $50 is a punishment to PS for giving us extra work because of that complicated PS3." Hahaha no way I'm getting this unless probably a sale, why would I bother when RDR2 is leagues ahead. This should be $20.
Got the Iceborne expansion, so it's hunting of more majeeestiiic (Micolash of BB voice) monsters for me this weekend, hard to put Monster Hunter down tbh. Then it's still roaming the Forbidden West with Aloy, AC Valhalla y'know, the usual.
I see this being some average 70s on Metacritic, would be surprised if it does better than that. It's a test case on how going back to linear AC is going to be received. Open world AC ftw, or maybe they should just drop the name AC so we can stop hearing "not an AC game" comments and enjoy the open worlds in peace.
In typical FromSoft fashion I'm finding places in Sekiro right under your nose the whole time, entire cities behind crevices. And still on my 2nd run in the magnificent Horizon Forbidden West. Gallivanting in AC Valhalla. Not sure I'd be gaming a lot this weekend though.
@Tharsman Absolutely. I don't see no problem with Valhalla's massive hours. I'm enjoying it immensely. I don't get how people like to spend 1000hrs shooting the same stuff or scoring the same goals in CoD/FIFA online but want to complain about single player being 300hrs...if someone wants to spend that many hours in SP what's your business...
@KaijuKaiser Well for £70 I like 100hr games. It's not about the hours, it's the storyline with constant pressure. I mean Elden Ring is 100hrs with no pressure.
@TBubs311
"At the end I couldn’t bother with the side quests because it felt detracting from the experience. And I’m one who usually avoids finishing a game so I can do all the side stuff."
That right there is the problem of most open world games. There's always this pressure to save someone or thing, and then branching out to do side quests makes it feel a bit odd. Geralt needs to save Ciri but hey he's playing Gwent and hunting little monsters for some measly coin. V is dying but he's doing side missions for Delamain the taxi AI. Aloy is ALWAYS IN A HURRY to save the world like all her friends tell her. Yet it's the side stuff that helps you level up and gain items. And this where FromSoftware's games shine, there's absolutely no pressure.
Just put everything on hold and playing my 2nd playthrough of the magnificent Horizon Forbidden West. God the graphics, the details on those machines still amazes you like it's the first time no matter how many playthroughs. Kojima had to admit like "damn I need that engine." Then it's probably some AC Valhalla, BB, Sekiro, ER.
Grinding in Sekiro right now and this is why Elden Ring is FromSoftware's best game. With BB, Sekiro etc you have a couple of places to go grind, in ER is a vast world you can go anywhere, find new places, new things all the while grinding. So it's those 3 for the weekend, the lovely AC Valhalla plus I might start HFW 2nd playthrough proper, the graphics is on another level, games like those makes it hard to leave PS. Aaand some GoT Iki Island probably.
Maybe it shouldn't it have the name FF, just like the last 3 ACs, they'd be great with all new names. That cover looks DMC, main character in gauntlets and all, what happened to the weird but unique clothing Tidus and them wear...
Sekiro. Beat Genechiro, beat Armored guy, almost felt impossible in the usual From style but there's always a way. Finding items I missed from 2016 in Bloodborne. Just chilling in Elden Ring, finding hard to get to items. Having fun in the world of AC Valhalla. I really wish to start HFW second run but I want to give it all my attention so I dunno.
Still fine as is. I'm more intrigued about how FromSoft cleverly hides things right under your nose. Can't find a way to get to a shiny pickup in Old Yharnam all these years, and another one on the roof of Raya Lucaria in ER, but finding other new stuff though. That's the beauty.
@AhmadSumadi @nyXhc420 You just gotta LEVEL UP, it gets easy. Don't let FromSoft's masterpieces pass you by all because you never bothered to level up.
That email is 2019, he thought spending Sony out of business was going to be straightforward and clearly it hasn't been, they've hit a road block with this Activision deal. They might just not bother going forward, I mean Bing should've spent Google out of business, it didn't happen, your work and talents talks for you and PS Studios aren't short of those talents.
@UltimateOtaku91 I know the other games don't sell that much but ES/Fallout can be as big if they aren't even already as GTA/RDR. It's just disappointing Bethesda had to sell, I doubt TakeTwo would make themselves available for purchase by either Sony or MS, if anything it'd be some independent group. Shame on Bethesda, if they needed a bailout it shouldn't have been from a console rival. Still, Sony's to blame too, for all that needless aggressive timed-exclusivity BS.
I don't even understand how Bethesda allowed themselves to be bought for that measly price. I'm surprised people aren't up in arms about this, instead that fackin Activision deal gets all the coverage. This Bethesda buyout is criminal.
Getting the hang of Sekiro, FromSoft just does a great job of making you feel it's impossible at the beginning of their games, but later, you realize oh it's possible. But damn still, it's hard. Still satisfying Eivor's wanderlust in a Wanderlust themed ship in the beautiful and fantastic AC Valhalla. Then it'd be a bit of ER, BB and whatever else.
I felt like I owe them £5 at least for a fantastic game like Genshin but I see they're doing fine 😁. Gotta say their menu and items design is up there with the best, like FromSoftware's, fackn beautiful!
@Darude84 I don't have an Xbox but credit where it's due. Starfield looks really good. I like how they said "from the creators of Skyrim & Fallout 4". Fallout 4 is a classic despite what the "let's just echo the negativity others have said without thinking for ourselves" internet people would have you believe.

I see CoD isn't serious business anymore.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Armored Core 6 Mechs an Impact with Number One Debut
People typing AC, you'd think a new Assassin's Creed was out. Maybe ArCo or ACore dunno, because the Creed has already taken them initials.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 491
@wiiware Wish you didn't know about the underground and sky lands so it took you by surprise, still, there's a lot more surprises awaiting you.

@KilloWertz A few, most are good.

@wiiware Damn man I think you need to give Bloodborne a chance, it's uniquely special! The whole theme, art, nothing like it.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 489
After getting Iceborne, finding it hard to play anything else, it's more and more Monster Hunter. Just love the gear and the game's deepness.
@wiiware Elden Ring is fantastic! Hard to put From Software games down in general.
