Re: 'It Makes Sense Why the PS5 Pro Price Is So High,' Say Tech Experts

Yagami

It´s a talking point for sure, but I don´t really care about the price. I literally go to work every day so I can afford to buy all the new gaming stuff

What irks me more is that there are basically 0 exclusives on the new console. Where are the games, man?
This substantial price tag would have been much easier to swallow for a majority, had they shown some cool new games to go along with the console.
At this point, I don´t have a reason to buy one, because my PC is already much more powerful and for some reason, Sony is putting all their games on PC now

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PS5 Pro?

Yagami

I don´t understand why the euro version is more expensive than the dollar one. Is it some kind of continental tax or what?
Last time I checked 100 euros equaled 110 dollars
Am I just stupid?

On another note, I´ll get it if they show some actual exclusive titles. I´d love to play something like Stellar Blade in silky smooth 4k 60 FPS, but better performance on games I´ve already played isn´t a good enough reason to get a new console. No exclusives = no buy

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2?

Yagami

I´ve played about 2 hours or so. The presentation is amazing so far, there´s so much going in every scene. You can really take your time and look at all the amazing buildings and the lush vegetation.

No idea if I´ll bother trying the multiplayer. I bought this wanting a similar experience to the first game, and it seems to provide that at least

Re: Bungie Commits to Destiny 2 DLC and Support Through 2026

Yagami

"Activities" and "rewards" is such off putting language when talking about games (in my opinion at least, it´s this mobile game dev language, designed to suck your wallet dry).
No idea who plays this but I can´t stand these reanimated corpses constantly having their limbs reattached by means of some new DLC or what have you

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Star Wars Outlaws?

Yagami

I urge Star Wars fans to consider this game without the franchise attached to it: does it still hold up? Would you rate this an 8 without your favourite locations and sounds and characters?
Not that it matters, I just don´t want people to blindly praise something without understanding why they like it

Re: Baldur's Gate 3's Big Patch 7 Won't Be the Last: 'The Chefs Must Cook'

Yagami

I´m hopeful that the coming mod support will allow people to easily create their own adventures and even allow for new features, kind of like what Neverwinter Nights did
This game has such traction, it would be amazing if the modding scene could take off big time with this. Someone will probably even remake BG1 and 2 with this new engine, if it´s possible, considering they did the same with NWN 2

No idea if I´ll replay the main game again, even if there are new endings. The overall duration of the game is just too long, especially if you play on a harder difficulty. As much as I like the game, it´s not that great that I´d repeatedly spend 100+ hours on it

Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 DLC Hopes Reignited By Suspicious Steam Updates

Yagami

Dark Arisen was definitely the best content expansion I´ve seen for a game in terms of how well it was realized, the lore, the difficulty, etc.
I hope they can pull off something similar at least

Though I´d love to see more than only extra content.
More skills, more vocations, more secret hidden trainer quests, maybe more pawn personalities
Maybe they could even tackle some of the cut ideas from the first game. As I recall, we still haven´t gone to the moon

Re: Upcoming PS5 Games for September and October 2024

Yagami

@sanderson72 Interesting. I thought the gameplay was basically a better version of DD 1. I enjoyed fighting some of the big monsters a lot, especially with some of the new physics interactions
I am hopeful that they´ll do a BBI for DD2 with tons of new and especially harder monsters that also start showing up in the main world. The game has lots of potential that the main game doesn´t utilize

I am also hoping that Dragon Age will be good. The latest trailer showing some of the actual plot for Veil guard took me by surprise. No idea why they kept pushing the Solas angle if he´s not even the big bad anymore

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

Yagami

AI is amazing and enables loads of people who are otherwise creatively stunted to actually realize some their ideas
Surely, right now it´s a hot topic with tons of generated content essentially just being a mix of stolen artworks, but in the future it will be the go to for basically anything. I think anyone trying to "halt" AI has no real grasp on how amazing this technology really is

You can debate on what art really is, whether the process matters more than the result, etc..
As a consumer product, the way the "art" is created loses basically all meaning, and as such it doesn´t matter if the beautiful image was created with sweat and tears over the course of many hours, or in 2 minutes with a well done prompt

I´ve been excitedly watching developments on the AI scene and I honestly can´t wait for the future

Re: Upcoming PS5 Games for September and October 2024

Yagami

@sanderson72 That´s a shame. I found DD2 to be pretty great, but I did play it on a really good PC. Apart from some massive frame dips in the city, I had basically zero issues.
Did you play the previous game or were you a newcomer?

Re: Upcoming PS5 Games for September and October 2024

Yagami

@sanderson72 I recommend not waiting for reviews, then you might actually enjoy games for what they are instead of tainting your own perspective with the drivel of some reviewer who probably does not even share your values
Unless you are financially burdened to the point where every purchased game has to be amazing, then I suppose you have no choice

Re: Turn-Based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Gets 7 Minutes of Gorgeous New PS5 Gameplay

Yagami

This looks good but I´m not completely sold on the parry/dodge mechanic. It´s an interesting inclusion but it feels like you can just steamroll the game by being good at fast reactions, since you´d never take damage
On the flipside, if you have bad reaction times, I would expect the game to be incredibly punishing for not landing those parries, otherwise the mechanic seems kind of pointless
I guess I´ll have to try it to actually understand if it works

The presentation of the combat menus looks amazing

Re: Management Says Spiders Strike Allegations Are 'False and Even Defamatory'

Yagami

@EfYI Again, what do high game prices have to do with the legitimacy of the workers' complaints? It´s wild to think that just because someone isn´t good at their job (= the devs take long to make ***** games), they must automatically be lying about being mistreated

By your logic, a studio producing games really quickly and cheaply could not possibly be lying about being mistreated at work, even if they have the most friendly work environment possible.

Re: Preview: Metaphor: ReFantazio Won't Blow You Away in Its First Hour

Yagami

@AinsleyE What are you on about? Mainline SMT games are doing incredibly well, SMT5 + Vengeance is almost hitting 2 million units sold
This obviously doesn´t compare to Persona sales numbers (google gives me about 6-8 million total for all P5 games combined) but it´s still a huge amount

I think this game is going to do incredibly well, as it really targets both audiences instead of just the Persona casuals or the general SMT crowd

Re: Talking Point: Can PS5, PC Shooter Concord Be Saved?

Yagami

@Brundleflies21 I agree. You are spoiled for choice in this day and age, so why would anyone choose to play this game instead of the new Marvel shooter?

I wonder if the animation episode from that series they announced at the GamesCom opening show will give the game a new lease, if it makes the characters seem more likeable. Honestly I doubt it though
