It's been a while since I stopped using X, as the feed was getting rather bad. It was bringing up more and more controversial topics instead of things that I'm actually interested in.
I haven't yet tried Bluesky. Can't say I'm in any rush to give it a go.
Edgerunners was great, though naturally that was down to Studio Trigger. It sounds as if this new show will be something separate, perhaps with a different studio, so I'll have to wait and see if it's any good or not.
His removal in Hitman isn't surprising given the court decision. I wonder what will happen to those that bought the DLC pack. It would be nice if IOI could keep his mission, but just switch out his character for a generic wrestler NPC.
Fair enough. I usually select the gibberish Monster Hunter Language when playing this series, so I'd be uncomfortable if the humans started using human speech.
Hopefully it'll be brilliant. My one concern is that they might stick too close to the Hitman formula. Bond and Agent 47 are different people, and have different ways of resolving problems. Bond is smoother with the ladies, more reliant on gadgets and fast cars (vehicle missions?), and gets himself into trouble more often. On the other hand, 47 is all about the stealth and remaining undetected whilst in plain sight.
I generally really like Atlus games, but I'm in no rush to get this. It can stay on my wishlist for the moment as there's other games I'm more eager to get.
4 is my absolute favourite of the series, so it's great to see it getting the remaster treatment. 5 was alright, but it was fairly short and forgettable.
Angel of Darkness is a big surprise, I was fully expecting the collection to just be 4 and 5. Being a PS2 game, it differed greatly from the previous games. Plus it was critically panned. I enjoyed it back in the PS2 days, but it certainly has plenty of flaws.
Glad it's reviewing well. I'm interested, but other games are keeping me busy right now, so this may be one for the wishlist. Plus, it's Atlus, so there's always the possibility of it getting a definitive edition or an expansion by the time I get around to playing this.
I sort of agree. There have been various videos about the game, but I've barely clicked on any of them. Looking back at the past articles, the story and character trailers always carry the risk of revealing too much, and the 16 minutes of unedited gameplay video is too long for me to bother watching.
Shorter gameplay trailers would be more useful for me. If they have been doing these, then I've missed them.
I'm still interested in this, along with Professor Layton and Fantasy Life. But with all the delays, it does seem like Level-5 is struggling to actually release games.
Metacritic scores are a useful consideration, but it's not the Holy Grail like some people regard it as. I'll take the scores into account, along with other factors such as gameplay trailers.
PCs have the big advantage of being able to do more than just gaming. Even if I wasn't a gamer, I'd still want a PC of some kind.
I've found myself playing on PC more these days as I'm still on PS4. Though, my PC is starting to get a little old as well. At some point, I'll want to upgrade something. The price point of the PS5 Pro along with concerns that the PS6 might follow suit is making me think a PC upgrade would be the better investment.
I've been enjoying Volume 1 of the collection, and would certainly be up for a Volume 2. MGS4 is the obvious choice to put in it, but I'd also like to see some of the lesser known games like the Acid games.
That's way too expensive for me. If someone has the disposable income and wants to get this, then good for them, but there's no way I could spend that much on a console.
It is not live service, at least not with any standard definition of live service. There's arguments to be made for the benefits of live service. However, this article is such a silly and weird take.
@Lup That might be true. It's been a few years since I've played Persona 5, so I don't remember too well. But even so, getting the player to move around in a linear section of the map and having a battle was a good way to show off the gameplay from the get-go.
That's an odd design choice here, since Persona 5 handled this issue brilliantly. Persona 5 puts the player straight into the action, before going back and detailing the story up to that point.
Hopefully it'll be great with the extra wait for this game. I do like the other Dark Pictures games, but I certainly was concerned about the series getting stale.
I do generally enjoy Quantic Dream games, but it sounds like this one is in trouble. Until more info comes out, I don't have any positive expectations for this.
I'm not very hyped. Geoff is always so smug, and he usually over-hypes his shows. Still, there may very well be some interesting announcements in this show.
It's a disappointment. I've played P3P before with the male protagonist, so I was wanting to go with the female protagonist next time I revisit the world of P3. If they had made this remake be the definitive edition with the advantages of both P3P and FES, then I would have jumped on it by now.
The original Broken Sword 1 is brilliant. I'm slightly cautious on this remake since the previous Director's Cut had some changes that I disliked. But if it gets a positive reception, then I'll be eager to see it with the revamped visuals.
@rusty82 I'm certainly enjoying the story in The Devil in Me once it got going, though I'm a bit more iffy on the extra focus on traversal this time around (i.e. all the press X to climb/jump/push sections).
I'm playing through The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The 3D Zelda games are mostly great, and this one is no exception.
I also picked up Forza Horizon 4 in a recent sale. That's being delisted near the end of this year due to licensing issues, so now seemed like as good a time as any for me to finally get it. Plus, I was in the mood for some racing anyway.
I played this back on PS2 back in the day, and remember being a little bit disappointed by it. It's still fun, but it's not as great as the original trilogy.
Dark Souls 1. I've died a lot, but I'm finally getting close to the end. And I'm also continuing with Last Window: The Secret of Cape West on Nintendo DS. That's a point and click game and a sequel to Hotel Dusk, with a new mystery to solve.
And looking at backlog, I'm thinking about finally getting round to playing Half-Life: Blue Shift and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Can't say I'm familiar with him (or any MMA fighters), but I'm always up for a new target.
I like how this target doesn't appear to be the cliche diabolical type of person who deserves an assassination. Instead, it's this mission is all just to stop the other guy from losing the fight.
It depends. As long as it feels as if I'm gradually improving or making progress, then difficult games can be great fun. Of course, hitting a brick wall and getting stuck is less fun.
It was a fairly believable story. The selection of video games in my nearest store is lousy these days, since figurines and other merch take up much of the limited space.
I think difficulty settings are a good thing to have in most cases, but developers should also do what they think is best for their games. I've not tried Elden Ring yet, but Dark Souls probably wouldn't have felt as impactful to me if I could just lower the difficulty at the first spot of trouble.

Re: Test Your PlayStation General Knowledge - Issue 30
4/10. The only question I knew for absolute certain was the Tomb Raider one.
Re: Test Your PlayStation General Knowledge - PlayStation Console Special
8/10, probably my best score on one of these quizzes.
Re: Players Made Uncomfortable by Talking Palicoes as Monster Hunter Wilds PS5 Beta Goes Live

Re: Steins;Gate Is Getting a Reboot for Unannounced Consoles, and the Art Is Divine
I've been meaning to play the original for quite a while now. Guess I'll wait and see whether this remake is a better place to start.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 552
I'm mostly getting started with Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. Along with that, I'm also finishing some of the side content in Yakuza 4.

Re: Until Dawn Is One of Sony's Worst Performing PC Ports to Date
It's a lot of money for what is a relatively short game. No surprises that people are reluctant to pay full price.

The first game was great. There's certainly ways they could further improve things in the sequel, but there's a solid foundation here.
Re: Internal Sony Fairgame$ Chatter Is Reportedly Quite Positive

Re: PS5, PC Shooter Concord Dead on Arrival, Is Being Taken Offline This Week as Dev 'Explores Options'
That's wild. Obviously the game wasn't doing well, but I certainly didn't expect them to pull the plug this quick.
Re: Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions' Snitch Has Been Dramatically Nerfed on PS5, PS4
It's a sensible decision. The golden snitch works well as a plot point in the books, but it doesn't translate so well into actual gameplay.
Re: Konami 'Aware' That Metal Gear Solid 4 Is Still Stuck on PS3
I'm currently enjoying the Master Collection Volume 1, so I'd certainly like to see MGS4 get ported or remaked at some point.

Hogwarts Legacy was wonderful, though I did also rather enjoy Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban back in the PS2 days.
