Fantastic to see it sell so well, it's also incredible too see a company go from well, Killzone to something incredible, a great story itself and I hope they go from strength to strength in the future.
Even if (like me) you're not that interested in Horizon, its still great news all-round
This is genuinely the first game this year I actually want to buy, but that report of performance issues on the PS4 Pro, is a wee bit off putting. It looks gorgeous though
I just bought Skyforce Anniversary from the last sale, and its got me hooked on these bullet hell games again, I used to love the side scrolling ones such as Gynoug back in t'day
Knowing my luck Sky Force Anniversary will be one, since i've just bought it (admittedly for really cheap) in the last sale - A great little game, could see that being recieved OK.
I think they should just get Knack out of the way now though.
Its a no from me, have zero interest in it really, Im pretty much done with huge time consuming games these days.
I am glad it is reviewing well though, it is always good to see companies take chances and it pays off, will the game buying public make it a massive success? I really dont know
I hate it when companies decide what / who is going to be the stars of the future. The game buyers will do that.
All the kinda "forced" hype around this game is making me think of that time Sony got behind that certain game released in the last year and well, look how that turned out.
Graphically, It does look incredible, but for some reason everything about the game leaves me feeling stone cold, It all just seems so cold and cynically engineered to become "the next big thing" and thats a thing that usually happens naturally, not forced upon like this seems to be.
I reckon that title Forge of Hope is cack, that leaked The Gods Forge DLC title is spookily similar to the Archons Forge from Rise of Iron..but anyways.
I can see the Cabal storyline being true, and what with the Megablox things as well, that all adds up to be fair. Im fully expecting to not being able to carry over current characters, and I can see them updating the engine, not "from ground up"
We'll see if the Activision reports mentions anything other than the fact that Destiny 2 is releasing this year, I doubt it though, Im hyped for its release anyway.
@Dichotomy It might be locked but there is some noticeable improvements, there was a certain bit in the cosmodrome level where when always passing through it the game would always freeze while it says loading for 5 - 6 seconds, this hasn't happened at all, and the game in general seems to be loading much faster.
Small things all in all, but definitely enhances the game
Reading the 19 Things You Never Knew About Horizon Dawn article over on playstation EU blog, it seems to be just Far Cry Primal with mechanical dinsosaurs complete with camp fires as way points..
@mrobinson91 I agree, I just thought there may had been some way to matchmake on light level and raid experience, all that information is there on their servers.
Im glad I chose the Pro instead of VR as well, although its a great piece of tech i dont think it is ever going to be the "next big thing" until the motion sickness thing is really finally sorted out, until then a massive chunk of people will be excuded.
You also cant mass market the thing, unless you have VR you cant really show off the games to people who dont, I know a couple of people who got it at launch and beyond the inital few weeks when it was shiny and new, it never gets used anymore.
I still think VR as a gaming console is still a couple of console generations away
If Sony are "worried" about teh hardware side, then they should be marketing the crap out of a PS4 Pro + Horizon bundle for the same price (or less) than a Switch + Zelda
@get2sammyb Its a fair point, but its going to cost at least £340 just to get the Switch and Zelda on launch, Beyond the Nintendo fans I really really cant see people rushing out to buy The Switch day one / launch week when all there is Zelda and some nonsense called Swtch 1-2.
I think most people are gonna wait for more games to be released before getting a Switch, I honestly dont think Sony have anything to worry about, sure a few sales might be lost but not enough to do any damage to the game, and sales longevity is more important than a Launch Day / Week boost anyway.
All the comments about The Switch on my timelines this morning have not been kind, at all. Horizon doesnt interest me in the slightest and neither does The Switch, but I dont think Sony or this game have anything to worry about. The switch is just a new underpowered, over priced Wii U in the making.
Ramp up the marketing, show more gameplay to win over the undecided players, livestream plays etc moving the game would do more damage to the game, as it would be admitting they have no faith in it to compete.
If they want this to be their next big IP then Sony need to put the work in now to make it so.
Im actually really back into Destiny after about 10 months away from it, Trying to get that Year 3 Thorn, so yeah I'll be doing a bunch of different stuff on there
Ohh a wee bit mean there, personally I didnt think the writing (or the voice acting for that matter) was "that" bad, the storyline kept me fully engaged all the way through, but it will be nice to see a different tone / direction for game 3.
I wont be rushing in first day anymore, not only is my backlog filling up like a pair of 60inch waist trousers over the holiday period, but I just point blank refuse to pay £40 upwards for the bog standard version of a same old-same old game when it comes out, when usually 6 - 8 weeks later it'll be half the price in CEX or online somewhere.
And I genuinely think people are starting to feel fed up of paid for additional content & DLC on top of the game, yes its completely optional to buy, but some DLC fundamentally changes to what you can and cannot access in the main game (I see you Rise of Iron) and that somewhat cheapens what you've bought already.
I still think MK X is the superior fighting game this generation, but SF V is turning into a great game slowly but surely.. im not entirely impressed that you have to fork out for another season pass for more new charachters (and I probably wont) but if you want to play online without getting pulped in a few seconds then choose the "casual match" option
I tried this game for a few days and took it back, so frustrating to play, the shoddy camera work destroys any fun or "experience" it has.. I wasnt the only it seems, Not since No Mans Sky did I see so many early trade ins on the shelf for a new game, A shame cos it really does look beautiful when playing
I just snatched Riptide Renegade for £2.49, Mighty No 9 for £4.60, Assassins Creed Chronicles for 7.99 and hitman upgrade for £18.. Plus theres a few more i'll get in January, My poor digital wallet!
Finished FFXV last night, so will wait until the DLC is out next week before I dive back in, I might try and get past that damn daemon baby in The Witcher 3
#stoptherandomsummons we should be able to choose who, when and where to summon, not a random one that has to be unlocked and then follow a specific set of rules. On Chapter 8 and I've had one summon.
I'll never understand the hatred it gets every month.. I quite like PS+ as a service, You get free games, bigger discounts in the sales, discounts on games that arent on sale, what more do you want from a serivce that costs at its base level of a fiver a month?
Most people are far to over entitled and want want want everything for free including the big AAAs. Ive never expected to get big blockbuster games every month like everyone else seems to, in saying that we're now presumably halfway through the generation, so there is no reason some of the 1st year games cant be added, maybe they will next year.

Re: Amazon UK's Selling a Horizon: Zero Dawn Steelbook Without the Game
Stupid people will always be stupid, It doesnt matter how big you make signs or notices or lettering, there will always be people who ignore it.
I dont really see anything wrong with selling special edition cases, there seems to be a market for it, and some cases are real nice as well

Re: Swamp Thing Rises from the Mire and into Injustice 2
I cant get over that this game is just essentially an MK X re-skin right down to the moves / special moves.
It does seem to have a solid roster of fighters though

Some ideas should never be games, and some games should never be made, this falls into both categories

Re: PS4 Software Sales Exceed 400 Million, Console Sales Reach 53.4 million
Ive got 16 physical copies and about the same amount of digital ones - the digital ones are mainly indie ones and games bought on sale in the store
I think the PS4 will go on to outsell the PS2, seems to be no stopping it

@NathanUC how do you try different data centres?
Re: Final Fantasy XV Buffed with 3.2GB Patch on PS4
Its apparently going to take 6 hours to download on 200mb fibre optic broadband. See also the SF V update which is going to take 10 hours..
C'mon Sony, time to upgrade those servers, not exactly short of the old money
