Re: Hello Games Breaks No Man's Sky Silence with Foundation Update

I think its too late for them, sure its something for the small circle of hardcore fans it has, but It would literally have to be almost a brand new game if they ever want to redeem their reputation with gamers.

I feel bad, cos they are a small team and they seem to genuinely love what they do and created, I dont think Sony helped by treating it as AAA when it was nothing more than a experimental indie game and then basically abandoning them when the poo hit the fan after release.

Re: Games Retailers Blame Black Friday for Poor Sales

gmxs

Maybe people are just bloody fed up of paying upwards of £50 for games that either dont work properly on day one and having additional paid for content on top - only so much you can push on people before they push back.

As an aside, I agree that Black Friday is the worst thing to happen to retail in this country, a pointless excuse for absolute greed that has no ties to any kind of celebration we have in the UK. Thanks for that Amazon.

Re: Talking Point: Why Are Fall's Biggest Blockbusters Flopping?

gmxs

Definitely genre fatigue, none of the games mentioned have any interest to me, theres only so many times you can run about shooting things in a FPS before you get bored with it.

The best games (and the most fun ive had playing) this year have been with Tomb Raider, Uncharted 4 & Ratchet & Clank, im looking forward to Final Fintasy FFXV but will see how the general reaction is before deciding to purchase at full price or wait..

The games Im looking forward to most next year so far are Sonic Mania and Yooka Laylee, maybe Mass Effect, just good fun, refreshing games that offer something different. I am fed up to the back teeth of FPS Shooters, same thing over and over and over and over.

Plus its been a very expensive year, PS4 Pro, VR, Slim, contrary to what companies think, people are not made of money especially this time of year. I invested in a PS4 Pro which isnt being utilised to its full capabilites due to my full 4k, HDR capable LG TV not being picked up by the blooming console, so thats tee'd me off a little, As im sure it has a lot of people.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Ubisoft Will Be Hacked Off with Watch Dogs 2's Performance

Games are expensive, and they are getting more expensive with each passing year, that's before DLC, season passes are factored in. Theres a new COD digital bundle that around the £100 quid mark, tgat is frankly insane. Also, 1st day patches, poor system performance while playing, its just not good enough to justify the launch price and people are a bit more wary .

A lot of high profile games also just haven't been that good either, time of year as well, people have other expenses to pay for this time of year and people may well decide to wait till after Xmas to purchase.

Re: Feature: Happy Tenth Birthday to the PlayStation 3

gmxs

The PS3 was the first generation I completely skipped, starting from way back with the Atari 2600, Sega Systems then PS systems. it just did not appeal to me whatsoever, the distastrous launch probably did a lot a damage for me, and just skipped out of any kind of gaming for that generation.. PS4 and now Pro rebooted the love for me

Re: Site News: Let's Talk About Review Code and Push Square's Review Policy

gmxs

Great to read that, this is the only PS site I read due to the fact it is well written and not sensationalist, I dont always put stock in any kind of review, afterall one persons trash is another persons treasure but I do like to read them on here as it gives you a "proper" review of things.

Keep up the good work and long may you remain as my default browser homepage

Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn on PS4 Has Walking Towers

gmxs

I just can't get excited for this game, sure it looks pretty, but it all looks so samey? I mean, apart from catching giant robot things, what else do you do? Is there a story?

I'm getting a strong "No Mans Sky" feeling about it all, I obviously mean the hype, the pretty screenshots, the promised potential etc but nothing has been revealed about what else you actually do

Re: Soapbox: You Should Stop Pre-Ordering Games

gmxs

I'm more irritated by over inflated DLC's and season passes, they really are the things that take the rip out of people.

It needs to stop or be scaled back. Games dont feel games anymore because of it

Re: Sony Really Wants You to Pre-Order PS4 Games on the PlayStation Store

gmxs

I dont hate digital, I've bought quite a few games Digitally like DriveClub and Injustice Gods of War, but they where under £20 for each of them and its great to have them there for instant convenience.

I pre-ordered the physical MK X with Goro for £34 and recieved it on the Saturday before release, on PSN prices started from £55 upwards plus additional DLC, There is just no way I would ever pay that for a digital game. Its ridiculous.
